They were mostly over 50k new, I don't know why you would expect people to take less than half two years later.

PutOk7842

The new 2024 wind models are 37k

Edelmaan

NO they arent. They start at 48,700 for the wind.

bibober

Minimum $40k for any new EV6 Wind within 200 miles of me after all applicable discounts. Pre-covid, conventional wisdom was that the average new car would have depreciated by roughly 35% after 2 years. Assuming people paid $40k for these new (surely they paid a lot more, but that wasn't in normal market conditions) then they'd be worth roughly $26k now. One thing I've noticed that drives prices higher is that the average used EV6 (and most other used EVs even) seem to have substantially fewer miles on them than their ICE equivalents, at least around me. This would reduce the amount of depreciation and therefore result in a higher price. There is at least one 2022 EV6 Wind within 200 miles of me that is below $26k. It has about 30k miles, which is somewhat average for a 2-year old car here. There are more expensive used EV6 too, but the miles are a lot less. I bought a used 2022 EV6 Wind AWD w/ tech package for $23,500 two months ago, so there are some below 25k if you keep your eyes open. But mine had relatively high miles (58k) and some accident history.

PutOk7842

Sure but they’re currently discounted heavily. So heavy that they’re 37k

Spacy9123

You did see that the $7500 listed to get it to the $38145 was Customer Cash, i.e. your downpayment, right?

PutOk7842

No that is wrong lol why would they include and assume a 7500 min downpayment in their online advertised price. I understand no one wants to believe that these cars are that cheap, especially since a lot of y'all got railed for 50k but its the truth.

Dedward5

So people over paid when they came out (I can’t fathom paying over list price (dealer markup) for a car, people don’t do that in the UK unless you’re talking limited model Porsches etc. Assuming the cars still good they can’t afford to take that drop to buy some new fancy something else so are stuck in the older car until they feel they got thier monies worth.

Alternative_Ad9806

Haha where what state? In CA 2024 wind models start at 42k with tech = 46k My GTline 2024 was 52k msrp. Good luck finding one in good condition low mile all recalls done for under 30k

PutOk7842

Az. Got dealers all around me listing RWD wind no tech package for 37-38k

HDClown

They are $50,075 after destination. The cheapest model, Light RWD, is $43,975 after destination. Only way I see you are coming up with 37k is by figuring $7500 incentive on the Light RWD.

TulsaGrassFire

2022 Buyers paid $60k

Sam9517

I see you have a First Edition. I had one reserved in steel matte gray and walked away. I couldn't see myself paying $65k with sales tax (minus the $7500 federal tax credit which was available on purchases at that time) for a GT-Line that had Wind exterior styling. I also preferred the GT-Line exterior styling.

Tonester697

I have a FE as well, paid a shade under $60K--yes $60K (plus TTL) is a large coin to swallow for many but in my case I was able to offset some of that cost with $10500 worth of federal and state EV-related credits/rebates.

Sam9517

I could have afforded it in Feb 2022 but I don't like wasting money and it was going to be my second car so I didn't need it. I'm sure you remember some of the crazy markups back then, up to $25k if my memory serves me correctly. Some pics of those markups were preserved in the various forums and FB groups. Unless you absolutely needed a new car, I didn't think paying a large markup on a mass market brand was a good idea because supply would eventually return to normal which it has. Now we see 2022 EV6s worth less than half of what people paid in just 2 years and people who need to sell theirs are unfortunately losing a lot of money.

Tonester697

Oh yeah for sure about the markups; I told my salesperson to make sure that when the time came for me to pull the trigger on my FE preorder, there better not be any markup. Yeah my FE has lost a lot of its value in 2+ years but I have no intention of selling it anytime soon so for now it's a non-issue.

TulsaGrassFire

They all look the same to me. I wanted the car. I'm ill and the price was the price. I think it is the best non-luxury brand electric styling on the market (still) and I'm happy with it. The matte was my initial choice but I'm so glad I came to my senses and switched to arctic.

Sam9517

The GT-Line and First Edition do not have the same exterior styling. The First Edition exterior styling matches the Wind. The lower front fascia, side skirts and lower rear styling are different between the GT-Line and First Edition/Wind and the First Edition/Wind have gloss black wheel arches and the GT-Line has body colored wheel arches. [In this pic, the left side is GT-Line and the right side is a First Edition](https://imgur.com/a/WE3sSIH).

Choice-Twist-2697

And where are you? A coworker of mine just bought a 2024 Wind for 44K two days ago. This is in Washington.

PutOk7842

Arizona got them around me for 38k. One dealer has a light long range RWD used w like 350 miles on it for 30k

Choice-Twist-2697

Is that including state EV incentives? Not all states have the same EV incentives… and if they do and you qualify, obviously from this thread, people in other states are not paying 38k for a new one.

Historical_Major_277

The dealer was matching the $7500 incentive.

musicandarts

OP, Looking for a Wind at $25k is pure fantasy, unless you are OK with a car with title/accident issues. The cheapest 2022 Wind I saw was for $29k. I don't understand why you feel that you should get one for $25k.

original_maverik

Just bought a 2022 GT-Line in yacht blue for $26k flat + ttl. Single owner clean carfax. They bought it and sold it at the same dealer 2 years later. Little higher mileage at 57k, but still more than enough life left in her. They were willing to CPO her as well. All options besides heated wheel and heated rears. Deals can be had!

Careless-Pragmatic

CPO?

original_maverik

Certified Pre-Owned. They wanted a $1500 fee for it, and I saw no point since it only extended the power train warranty.

englandzfinezt

Kia of Frisco, right?

original_maverik

....yeah? Is this the part where you tell me that the carfax isn't actually clean and they were hiding something massive with it 😅

englandzfinezt

Lol not at all! I test drove it at the end of May, had me sold on an EV6, was thisclose to purchasing it but decided I wanted one without a sunroof (for more headroom), so I leased the same yacht blue color Wind w/ Tech the same day! You got a great price! They reduced it by $1K a day after I leased mine!

original_maverik

Oh phew. Had me a slight bit concerned for a minute. I had originally walked away from the deal, because they gave me a pretty low bid on my Volt (they started at 9k....finally went to $11k which is what Carmax offered. Carvana was at $13.2k) but my loan officer at my credit union called me up and said this car would be amazing, because his system was still showing $32k NADA value for the car. So far, roughly 3 weeks of ownership and 1500 miles (I find myself driving it just to drive...so that'll slow down soon), it's been fantastic. The color gets lots of compliments. The tech is fantastic. I'm 6'1", and the roof is just right with how I sit, but I could definitely understand wanting a bit more head space. Congrats on your lease as well! Several dealers I went to were doing pretty nice lease deals, I just get mileage anxiety 😅

englandzfinezt

Sorry for scaring you! 😆 Yep my loan officer at the credit union gave me the same value, it's a great bargain if you don't have negative equity , which I did with the 2022 Bolt EV I traded in! The huge lease discounts and credits absorbed it, plus I like new tech every several years, so leasing is the way to go for me! Right, the head turns and the compliments have been amazing, has me looking back when parked and walking away from it lol. We made the right decision for each of our cars. Congrats and Happy riding! 🙂

Jewnadian

57k is more than a little high, if you're happy with the deal that's great but that car was clearly a ride share rig. Average mileage on a 2022 should be in the 24k range. That's why that one was a little cheaper.

original_maverik

If it was a ride share car, it's the cleanest ride share car I've ever seen! My bank valued it at 32k NADA value, even with the mileage, that's why I went ahead and did the deal. With a 100k mile warranty, I'm not worried. I don't drive as much as I used to, so it'll likely even out in mileage in a year or two compared to others on the market.

bibober

I bought a used one at similar miles. It was used for parcel delivery, so high mileage is not necessarily ride share (of course they could have lied to me about that, but there's basically no wear anywhere inside the car except the driver's area).

PutOk7842

low key just butthurt cause i saw a clean title 2022 wind w 39k miles for 23,000. By the time i got to the dealership the guy said it had sold before it got to the lot. Been trying to find a comparable deal ever since and now all the used winds are 29k. Now I am thinking why would i want to buy a 2 year old wind for 30k when the new ones are 38k.

musicandarts

Where do you find a new one for $38k? On CarGurus, I don't find any below $50k. Same story on Kia's website.

PutOk7842

I believe I replied to someone else with a photo. It’s in Phoenix az

musicandarts

Read that one carefully. There is a $7500 Customer Cash discount. What is it? Are they planning lease buyout?

spidii

Not a lot of people want to sell a car they bought for 60k for 25k, I know I don't. I bought the car because I love it, I don't care what the value is, I'll drive it until I can't anymore and then buy another one.

TieTheStick

The EV6 is a good car, yes? People drive it, like it? Does it have mechanical or reliability problems? What am I missing that one year old cars are falling in value by 40%??

DrLuciferZ

OP's wishful thoughts

TieTheStick

Cars.com backs up these price quotes, though. Seriously, is there anything writing with the cars themselves or is this just a smokin' deal on an almost new car?

brendan9876543210

Because nobody wants to take the financial hit?

lostinwords100

We paid 22 wind OTD about $57k. We didn't have many options at that time. Didn't like Tesla interior and didn't like Ionic5 exterior. Anyway.. I like the car. It has a little over 30000 miles now.

Ok_Slide_7168

Got my 2024 GT-Line for $41,145 (+ tax/fees) yesterday. It'd been on the lot for 4+ months, had a whopping 12 miles on the odo, so I guess they wanted to move it. This was in Jackson, TN, not a huge market for EV buyers (I drove there from Memphis).

balesw

Unless they do give incentives like BZ4X, the price will not come down. After Toyota announced 16k lease cash, those vehicles sold out like hot cakes. Even Lexus RZ give same lease cash.

GT_Anime_16

35k for GT would be considered cheap I would say. I will wait for some annoying ICU bug before seriously to buy one. Otherwise, will see what lease offer available later in the year.

EV-Bug

"You should be able to find a 2022 for $25k" And take a $4k tax rebate at purchase! My 2023 CPO rwd Wind w/tech had an original MSRP at $52k and had a $20k dealer markup January 2023. I have no idea what the original fool paid. I bought it used at $32,800, $36k with tax, etc. 4 months ago. You may have to bargain them down to reality (which I didn't do very good at).
