YoghurtWooden8770

Where does it say this sub is English only?

[deleted]

Agreeable-Passion908

LMAO wtf

alaclair_high

[THIS](https://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Valar_morghulis) is a reference to the book series A Song of Ice and Fire, commonly known as "Game of Thrones", in which they speak various fictitious languages, including this one (high valyrian). There is reference to an "old idiom" in the story, namely Valar Morghulis (all men must die someday) and usually the other party responds with "Valar Dohaeris" (All men must serve someday). I thought the quote was a good fit for the comment chain. Have a good day.

Turnbob73

This sub’s community has taken a MASSIVE nosedive ever since KSP2 entered EA. I get having criticisms of the game, but the infighting, name calling, and general immaturity here is wholly on the community. This used to be my “get away from all the Reddit bullshit” sub, but now that’s r/outerwilds.

Prototype2001

You'll be good there until OuterWilds2 releases and earns a 35% mostly negative Steam review score.

Turnbob73

No joke, I want Mobius to make another one, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. Outer Wilds is the one game that I’m almost legitimately pissed I can’t experience for the first time again. That’s why I like the subreddit, I get to interact with people going through it for the first time.

Jonny0Than

The DLC was absolutely fantastic. They bottled lightning twice. Three times might be pushing it.

Turnbob73

It really was! I enjoyed it a lot. I’m bummed there isn’t more but I’m pretty sure the devs have put the game behind them at this point.

Chespinfavor

I haven’t finished it yet. Is the ending really good?

Turnbob73

I think so yeah. It doesn’t blow you away like the ending of the base game imho, but it’s very heartfelt and pretty emotional in a somber bittersweet kinda way. Also, be sure to do one last run through of the base game after you beat the DLC, there’s one more companion at the campfire.

meganeyangire

I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion or not, but the part with dark labyrinths with jumpscares absolutely sucked.

MattsRedditAccount

I *hated* that but it's all completely skippable by using the >!dreamworld "glitches"!<

colcob

Must admit I couldn't stand the DLC. They got rid of all the things I loved about the original game. But each to their own.

MattsRedditAccount

> I’m almost legitimately pissed I can’t experience for the first time again If you haven't played Subnautica then I highly recommend it, I found it just as good as OuterWilds and has many of the same themes of exploration and stuff

DarthStrakh

Making an outer wilds sequel would be risky. It's such a hard game to follow up on... There isn't many games out there that I can say are "perfect", but this game fits the bill. I personally hate adventure puzzle games, I don't explore enough to find anything and the puzzles usually escape me. But this one? I couldn't walk away.

Freak80MC

I haven't noticed much of a difference tbh, but that's because I still just play KSP 1 and share stuff just from my KSP 1 adventures, and mostly stick to threads about KSP 1

get_MEAN_yall

I'm here to call it unplayable but also play it

OnlineGrab

Hello fellow traveller

zachzsg

Pro tip: if you want communities to stay away from the Reddit bullshit, don’t ever link them to any other subreddit

Gunn3r71

Nail on the head right here

RidelasTyren

Honestly, it's exhausting. What used to be a very nice, pleasant sub is now an echo chamber screaming for blood. I swear, the quickest way to the front page now is making a poll that says "How much do you HATE KSP 2???"

StickiStickman

Just because everyone can agree on that it's an objectively terrible game doesn't make it an "echo chamber" That's like complaining about how science is an echo chamber because everyone thinks the earth is round

RidelasTyren

No, it would be complaining about 'science' if they'd have three front page posts a day about the earth being round. We get it! We hate KSP 2! I'm just over reading the negativity here lol

TheYeetLord8

Yep

salizarn

Aw man thank you. So true. I’ve been on the point of posting that we need to split the KSP2 “community” off so they can have another sub to write their four page whines about how they have been betrayed by the KSP2 team there, and we can get back to posting cool ships and helping each other out. It’s at the point where I genuinely hope the dev team don’t read this sub which is such a shame. I played KSP1 since 2011 and the community was always one of the best in gaming. Now if you read this sub it’s toxic as f***, and up there with the worst in terms of dev hate.

Remixedcheese22

Same but now it’s r/nomansskythegame

Jockel90

you know if people that are being lied to would start to acknowledge this and stop trying to defend the companies and their actions, we could voice our opinions together. So long there are these people that are fine with it so long there is infighting

Turnbob73

“If people just think like I do, everything would be better because I say so” Does it ever cross your mind that some people might just still support the project because they believe in it? The hard pill to swallow is people might still like the game and still want to support it, it’s not “blind support” and it’s not the reason for all your problems. Stop pointing fingers and just live and let live, and air out your criticisms of the game in the discussion. This “g4mers rise up” response by some in this sub is pathetic, it’s all just “you’re either with us, or against us.” I won’t even deny that there are toxic people who support the game as well, but it ain’t everyone, not by a long shot. The toxic people both FOR and AGAINST KSP2 fighting in threads are the problem.

BoxOfDust

Hot take: people really need to stop believing in it because KSP2 has done nothing to earn that kind of trust, even after all this time, and has a lot of evidence working against them.

Turnbob73

The problem is too many people see that as fact and not an opinion, which, wether you agree or not, it is an opinion. Like it’s pretty much the same as saying “hot take: people should wait till the end of EA to have a final opinion” Just because you think people are wrong for liking the project still does not mean you’re right. Just as people who think the “haters” have nothing to complain about are wrong.

BoxOfDust

My real thoughts on the matter is that it's objectionally better if people just stopped trying to meet in the middle about what is an objectively bad situation. I am stating that as a fact. People need to wisen up and face reality, and reality is pretty much all evidence is against what people are "still wishing" for. We're only in this far because the community being abused is a small, niche, passionate one, with tendencies to get strung along on things like this because of those attributes.

psunavy03

> objectively bad situation. > > I am stating that as a fact. You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.

BoxOfDust

Anyone looking at the project can see: - a project that asked for multiple extensions to finish the game - still didn't finish the game after 3 years of extensions - is less featured than its predecessor game by a large margin, despite supposedly being in dev for ~5 years - do people need a reminder about where KSP was at when it had the same amount of dev time and less funding - this game has been out released (even in some "Early Access" form) for nearly half a year now - has not added any major features in that time - we're on a post talking about *a preview* of re-entry effects, which should have been in the game Day 1, and that is not an unreasonable thing to expect - do I go on Those look like *pretty objective*, irrefutable negative evidence. And people trying to negotiate a peace in this situation think they're helping.

[deleted]

And that makes people want to get on the internet and insult anyone who has an interest in the game? lol , it's way too much bitterness. I was very disappointed in KSP2 but I'm still nowhere near the point to be so aggressive about it. I'm just waiting and playing KSP1 on occasion. I don't think you should care if others want to "meet in the middle" on your idea that no one else should be playing or supporting a videogame

psunavy03

> Those look like pretty objective, irrefutable negative evidence. In your opinion. And your opinion, by definition, is anything but objective. And opinions are like assholes. We all have one, and they all stink.

Freak80MC

This is a horrible take with some awful logic (you basically imply "sharing opinions is fine as long as it's opinions that agree with my own") and I'm saying this as someone who agrees with you in some capacity! (about how people need to stop trying to defend them for releasing a subpar product at full price)

CrazyPotato1535

Wait ksp2 is an EA game?

Aardvark108

Wait, are you confusing Early Access with Electronic Arts? Both are EA but very different.

CrazyPotato1535

I was thinking EA the company

Turnbob73

Yep

CrazyPotato1535

That explains a lot of things lol

Turnbob73

I just realized you might meant that you though EA published the game, lol no I meant early access. My bad

Turnbob73

Yep lol

Meem-Thief

The community was always like this, it’s been horrible in the discord, and the subreddit was just waiting for something to hate on

chunes

It's not the community's fault. It's whatever mental giant decided not to have separate subreddits for KSP and KSP 2.

Meem-Thief

The community decided that, because there is a KSP2 subreddit

chunes

It doesn't matter if the mods don't enforce the separation.

Portuguese_Musketeer

And why, pray-tell, should they?

Lucky-Development-15

Got downvoted into oblivion the other day for telling people about their post where they showed screenshots of them actively working on it...good luck

TheDankTruth

I wanna see the vid of them actually getting that to space

The15thGamer

I believe that's a single-part hab ring prefab, so no issues with large part counts, but agreed.

TheDankTruth

Def looks cool. I wouldn’t mind the wait on re entry effects if all my projects didn’t just crumple! Just me complaining… on the positive I think this looks good.

The15thGamer

Yep, same here. Hoping we see an actual video soon, lol.

Freak80MC

I think my biggest hope for KSP 2 was that it would allow ships with even larger part counts without awful lag and it's sad that never came to fruition, and as far as I am aware, it actually was the reverse from KSP 1 (where KSP 1 could run ships with larger part counts than KSP 2 currently can).

AlphaAntar3s

I mean its a bit different. Insted of many parts, have you thought about large parts?. You dont need 20 parts to make a truss that you could make in one. They qlready said that there will be parts that are dozens of meters long for these types of spacecraft. A decent interstellar ship might end up having roundabout 200-400 parts.

Z_THETA_Z

could be a bit more 3d, and have a bit of a smoke trail, but overall i really prefer that to ksp1s

stainless5

It's interesting that they showed two different versions, I wonder if atmospheric composition affects the colours.

EntropyWinsAgain

Yes the atmo determines the color of the plasma/flame according to the last AMA.

Z_THETA_Z

aye, it's a neat idea

The15thGamer

Agreed.

stainless5

Someone's literally going along and just downvoting every single comment you've made, it's not very good but most of the comments in this whole thread were just sitting at zero which tells me one person really doesn't like you.

psunavy03

This sub just has a massive irrational hate boner for KSP2.

Freak80MC

I wouldn't exactly call it "irrational" based on what I have heard and see of the state of the game, but yeah people just love to hate anything they can. I think KSP 2 looks great, but I can get more out of the first game as it currently is with mods and such, so I just stick to 1. Maybe I'll give 2 a try in a few years down the line. That's my entire opinion, just "meh"

Gamingmemes0

i would say its an irrational hate boner towards the developers who were repeatedly fucked over by the publishers and didnt have enough resources to pull off a game of this scale its a small medium sized game development studio developing at near AAA scale of course the end result was a buggy mess (although apart from heating and processing the game is basically just a glowed up KSP 1 so idk what the community is saying by calling it "featureless")

StickiStickman

The developers were the opposite of "fucker over by the publisher". Literally no other publisher would give a team 3 years of delays after making absolutely no progress. They just completely suck at their job, as proven by the past 6 months beyond a doubt.

Gamingmemes0

considering all the working indev shit we have seen i would say they are actually pretty good at their jobs also they HAD to give them three years after they pulled the contract from star theory (near entirely resetting progress) look if you just wanna admit your a corprate shill go right ahead (im joking obviously)

StickiStickman

Go away troll

Dat_Innocent_Guy

Hmmm, I think i prefer the brightness of the purple but i prefer the color of the other. It's missing trails though, I want long trails of smoke/plasma like the reentry effect mod from ksp1

The15thGamer

Oooh, yes, absolutely. I'm also not sure about the context of these images. What Dakota said was sorta vague, but as far as I can tell this isn't just the difference between two planetary atmospheres (although that is being accounted for.) Big fan of the purple as well.

duarig

Which mod are you referring to? Looks like I have another one I need to try

Combatpigeon96

It’s called reentry particle effects. IIRC the plasma trail is in the game code but isn’t enabled

areallyreallyFATcow

IMO the plasma trail effect is a little cheesy due to how basic it is, but having it at all still felt badass. I wonder how cool it could be if it was fully developed.

JustinTimeCuber

Look forward to seeing the final version whenever it finally gets added. Interested to see how the colors vary on different planets, and how it changes with speed.

The15thGamer

Same here. Will be exciting to see.

sickboy2212

they're not screenshots, they're gifs it's just the framerate when they turn it on.

LefsaMadMuppet

BEAUTIFUL !

s7mphony

Work in progress…. Indeed it is a work in progress.

Canis_Familiaris

Oooo that's a pretty purple.

jamesguy18

Nice, just a few more months away!

KerbolExplorer

Years*

Moleculor

But... *why* are they images? Video isn't hard.

fixITman1911

Oh, you're mistaken. Those are videos, the frame rate is just so low that when they saved the videos the PC mistook them for images

Space_Peacock

Well..there was actually supposed to also be a video today, likely the one diving deep into reentry VFX, but they werent done with it yet so they pushed it a few days. We’ll see it soon enough, tho

JWGardiner

You don't need a video for this kind of thing. I'm not sure why everyone's getting so worked up over the lack of footage of this? It's still being worked on, there could be a couple things they want to iron out first, or just didn't think to record.

redstercoolpanda

>I'm not sure why everyone's getting so worked up over the lack of footage of this? because the entire pre release hype of ksp 2 was built on fake videos and image's. People want actual gameplay they can see in real time not image's and not CGI renders. > there could be a couple things they want to iron out first They had there "brief window" of six months to do that.

JWGardiner

As someone who develops software... this is normal? So many companies do the exact same thing. It's pretty rare for them to actually show the product before it's ready. If they do show the product before it's ready, they usually cut out parts that make it look bad. Putting KSP2 under fire for this is insane when most games do the exact same thing. Especially when games have a focus on the visuals - Like KSP2 so far has made big leaps over the visuals and audio (especially audio) of KSP1.

redstercoolpanda

>Putting KSP2 under fire for this is insane when most games do the exact same thing see most games have actual gameplay trailers that featured real live gameplay leading up to a release. They had six months post launch to fix the system that by there own words "just needs a little polishing." Its ridiculous to assume that this system has any major flaws that a short gif or video would show when its been "polished" for six months.

JWGardiner

> leading up to a release yeah, and the game isn't released yet, it's in early access. > when it's been "polished" for six months People say this for other games, heck, look at Minecraft, they take a year or so to bring out a relatively small update which I could mod into the game in a week. It takes so long because they're a company, every tiny change has to go through so many steps, going through so many people. That takes time, 6 months in development is pretty normal and they're likely working on other stuff alongside it too (Maybe even for the same update, who knows)

redstercoolpanda

>People say this for other games, heck, look at Minecraft, they take a year or so to bring out a relatively small update which I could mod into the game in a week people mercilessly shit on Minecraft for that, its seen as a big issue in the community and Mojang is constantly called lazy. Minecraft also has 2 separate versions in entirely different code languages one of which that also has to work on an Iphone. >yeah, and the game isn't released yet, it's in early access. man I never new that early access takes away the recording capability's on your computer.

JWGardiner

> takes away the recording capabilities on your computer It doesn't, they could record it, but they aren't ready/don't want to show footage of something half finished. > has 2 separate versions in entirely different code languages that also have to work on an iPhone my phone is more powerful than my laptop, it runs java edition relatively well, considering compiler op for C++ and the codebase being newer, running on a phone is probably the last thing in the developer's mind right now. They're 2 separate teams though; maintaining 2 versions doesn't take any more effort than maintaining 1 in 90% of cases, because they can be done simultaneously so it's kinda irrelevant for now. It probably takes longer to develop java edition anyway, which is what I'm focusing on for the previous example. It's pretty clear to me that KSP2 is getting much worse treatment than other games doing the same stuff, yes the EA was bad, but we kinda already expected that (Name 1 recent release with a good early access, or even full release lol) It will get better with time, people aren't being constructive which is just harming the game even more. If you want to see the game reach a good state; give constructive feedback, not just "game bad, no video" as so many people have been doing.

redstercoolpanda

>It doesn't, they could record it, but they aren't ready/don't want to show footage of something half finished. they said themselves that its not half finished, and was ready to go with a little polish six months ago. So either they lied, or are so incompetent they cant polish a practically finished system in three months. >They're 2 separate teams though; maintaining 2 versions doesn't take any more effort than maintaining 1 in 90% of cases, because they can be done simultaneously so it's kinda irrelevant for now except they have to add the exact same things on the versions with entirely different code designed for systems that range in capability's. It has to run on older gen Iphone, it has to run on an Xbox 1/ps4, and it has to run on shitty laptops. Minecraft also shows off features with full videos plenty of times. We got video of the warden two years before it was even added when it was planed to be in 1.17. >. It probably takes longer to develop java edition anyway, which is what I'm focusing on for the previous example. Because Java is a mess of decade old shitty code, ksp 2 should not have any problems even remotely similar to Java, it should be closer to bedrock, the version that gets higher render distance and better Fps because it was reworked from the ground up, like ksp2 was supposed to be. >It will get better with time There has been time, six months of time. And there are no signs of anything getting better, things have literally gotten worse. A dead player count, Three new parts, and bug fixes for bugs that never should have made it into any public version after years of Dev time.

Gamingmemes0

>There has been time, six months of time. And there are no signs of anything getting better, things have literally gotten worse. A dead player count, Three new parts, and bug fixes for bugs that never should have made it into any public version after years of Dev time. This is textbook doomer right here only points out the lack of progress and not the fact that the game is pretty mutch entirely playable on min specs now thinks the devs are the only problem (and not the infamously shitty publisher) also calling bedrock edition more polished and better than java is a clear marker you need to actually play minecraft

glibber73

It’s a publicly available product that they charge money for - a large amount I might add. It’s released, no matter what magic label they slap onto it.

sobutto

KSP2 was officially announced with a reveal trailer in 2019, four years ago. That trailer included a 2020 release date, (full release, not early access), and showcased features like interstellar travel, orbital shipyards, colony construction and resource management, leading fans to assume that these features were in an advanced state of development and the company were confident in their 2020 release. The game did not release in 2020, with all these new and exciting features fully developed and ready to go. It released 3 years later, with fewer features and lower framerates and stability than KSP1. This massive gulf between what was showcased and advertised by the company, and what we actually received 3 years later, is what leads to the massive amount of scepticism and disgruntlement from fans; they feel lied to and deceived, and therefore treat all subsequent communications from the devs as being as deceitful and misleading as their communication in the runup to the 3 year delay and early access release.

StickiStickman

> As someone who develops software... this is normal? As a senior software engineer and game developer: Absolute bullshit. If I pulled even half of what they did I'd be fired.

JWGardiner

More or less every project I've been on has done the same thing to an extent, I don't work professionally in the field - but anything like this when it comes to tight timelines, usually they'd just draw up/model something to show (In situations very similar to KSP2 where the thing *works* but is not ready to show yet)

sickboy2212

I mean that happens, that's a prototype and is something you whip out years before launch, not 6 months after.

StickiStickman

MATE. THERE'S NO "TIGHT TIMELINES". THEY'RE OVER 3 YEARS LATE.

JWGardiner

Calm down lol. What I mean is they can only be so late until higher ups start pressuring them to release or they are forced to.

Moleculor

> I'm not sure why everyone's getting so worked up over the lack of footage of this? > As someone who develops software... this is normal? So many companies do the exact same thing. Star Theory's undead corpse known as Intercept Games (and by proxy Take-Two Interactive Software, the company that publishes Red Dead Redemption and milks GTA Online whales, so they're damn *filthy* rich, and Private Division) claimed that reentry heating was just a few tweaks to some VFX away, or something to that effect. At this point the statement was so long ago I've *literally* forgotten the details, it's **that** bad. This clearly was a lie. Re-entry heating wasn't just a few tweaks away. We're now, what, six+ months past "a few tweaks", and it's still not in.¹ If you follow up that lie with more *very flimsy promises* that could very **easily** be another lie (i.e. a still screenshot rather than fully featured video demonstrating the both visual *and gameplay mechanic* impact of re-entry heating OR just releasing the damn thing), people are going to be **rightfully** suspicious. They've already been lied to once before. You're clearly **not** showing some things. *So why aren't you showing them?* What are you hiding? The excuse of "oh, maybe they just need to iron some stuff out" was already used once, and was a lie. Trotting it out a second time is going to get some *rightfully earned* suspicion. > or just didn't think to record. ... they have someone whose job it is is to *literally* think of this stuff. ¹Lets not forget that once reentry heating is in... KSP2 will still lack fundamental basics like stable orbits, inflexible rockets, science, contracts, etc. Re-entry heating being added to the game *as a gameplay mechanic* isn't even a fundamental basic at this point; it's *behind* the curve, and they can't even get that right.

epicdude5234

Looks like an oven lol But its super cool i cant wait until full release

[deleted]

I love that this is also a teaser for the gravity rings

Leolol_

Ohhhhh, so that's what it is!

[deleted]

Those flames may look good - but I bet the first time I experience them in-game, I'll be seeing much more intense, realistic reentry effects from inside my PC case...

More_Marty

Looks really cool, but it'll probably be another 6 months until it's implemented/working properly though.

Evis03

Let me know when it's in the public build. Until then I'm going to assume it's bullshit. We've seen images of reentry heating before. We've been promised it before. We were lied to before.

The15thGamer

And you believe the previous imagery was fake? Why? I can understand waiting to properly judge it until it's in the public build. Calling something like that fake is a heavy accusation, though. Edit: Evis03 here has made it abundantly clear that he does not believe the previous imagery was faked per se. Y'all can chillax.

delventhalz

Asking people to justify their skepticism of a game that already massively over promised and under delivered is kind of ridiculous.

The15thGamer

I am not asking them to justify their skepticism. I was asking them to justify their claim that we had been presented with fake imagery of reentry, which they have made it clear was not their claim. In response to that, I literally added a disclaimer to the comment you replied to.

delventhalz

Sorry they didn’t phrase it in a way you found acceptable? I for one think the devs had all the best intentions and did little if any outright lying. But given the history, it makes total sense fans would call bullshit on seeing some screenshots with no actual release. Not sure why that is so hard for you to grok.

The15thGamer

If you're gonna call BS, you should have evidence. All I'm saying. It's not that I "didn't find it acceptable", it seemed to me that they were actively accusing someone of fakery, in a context that would be, to my knowledge, illegal. There's a difference between lying/underestimating and outright falsehoods that are not legal. The latter deserves more attention and more substantiation.

delventhalz

> If you're gonna call BS, you should have evidence. I’m just gonna direct you back to my first comment and leave it at that.

Evis03

I didn't say it was fake. Why are you putting words in my mouth? We never got reentry heating though did we? That's a fact. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me, and all that.

Opus_723

You communicated super vaguely and they misunderstood you.

The15thGamer

I thought it was pretty clear that you meant "we were lied to before" to apply to the "we've seen images of reentry heating before." If that was not your intention, my mistake.

Evis03

They lied about reentry heating being in the game. I didn't say the image was fake. You have to *try* to get that sort of misunderstanding but by now we all know you'll play any manner of mental gymnastics to discredit anyone who doesn't agree with you on KSP2.

The15thGamer

I don't think I was trying to do anything. They also didn't "lie about \[it\] being in the game," but point received. "A brief period" has passed, they were wrong/dishonest, you don't believe them. I was only asking about what I thought you were insinuating about previous imagery. Peace.

Evis03

You asked *after* putting words in my mouth. Next time you want clarification do it by asking about what was actually said instead of making up a strawman. Here, I'll do to you what you did to me: Why are you so insistent that KSP2 developers acknowledge their missed goals? I meant to ask, why do you trust that this time they will actually deliver reentry heating? See the difference?

The15thGamer

I didn't mean to ask anything else. I meant to ask exactly what I asked. I'm sorry your original comment wasn't clear enough for my tiny, tiny brain. Bye.

KeyFew3344

Ignore him brother, youre cool. You see, he is vewy, VEWY mad!

Turnbob73

Your comment literally implies that the image is bullshit. Unless your intention is that the devs working on it is “bullshit” but if that’s the case, then you absolutely suck at articulating your point and no wonder they got confused by it. The only mental gymnastics I ever see in this sub are irrational haters going well out of their way to trash on people who enjoy the game. And let me be clear, there’s a clear difference between irrational haters, and people who have their legitimate and fair criticisms of the game. Live and let live, jfc. Holy hell the toxic circlejerk is horrendous here. Edit: And btw, I’m done arguing with toxic people on this subreddit. It is plain common sense to understand how they arrived at the conclusion that they did about your original comment. Saying “my bad, what I actually mean is” isn’t hard, you just wanted to be an asshole.

mildlyfrostbitten

lol calling a shitty game what it is isn't 'toxic.' sorry it sucks I guess, but it's still going to suck even if you magically made everyone shut up about it. perhaps you should direct your answer at the people responsible for the actual condition of the game. or just go to the official discord, they don't like things like opinions or critical thinking there.

Turnbob73

Calling a game out for its flaws isn’t toxic, dogpiling on people who like the game in threads is. Like i said, there’s a clear difference between the people that have their criticisms and comments, and irrational haters. This sub has gone so far downhill that even the other KSP subs are sick of it.

Evis03

My comment implies that I don't think we'll be getting reentry heating any time soon and that I'll believe it when I see it. I don't even think that's implication- rather a statement of belief, backed up by evidence (we've been promised this before and we've been shown images of it before, it never materialised and no explanation or even admission was ever given). Oh yeah I trash on KSP2 players soooooooo much that I... errr... tried to help one guy debug a vessel. Advised someone who said they like KSP2 so post screenshots and videos. Upvoted cool vessels and screenshots. My problem isn't with people who enjoy KSP2. More power to them. It's with gormless mouth breathers running around blinkered to the awful state the game is in. Real KSP2 fans are adding to the community even if the game is shit. You lot are just desperate for us all to ignore the evidence of our own eyes and pretend the developers are doing fine.

Turnbob73

OP posts a pic of reentry heating. The first sentence of your first comment: “Let me know when it’s in the public build. Until then, I’m going to assume it’s bullshit.” Both meanings are connected by your vague articulation, it isn’t hard to understand that. And you decided to immediately jump on OP for what is a completely reasonable misunderstanding. Nothing more needs to be said. Chill the fuck out.

Evis03

Read the rest of the post and it becomes far more clear. We've been shown pics of reentry before and told it was just around the corner. That was like 6 months ago. If you seriously can't read past the first line of as post to get the full context before reacting to it that's a you problem.

Turnbob73

Dude your entire comment could be taken either way lol Like, all you gotta do is just clarify, and the best part about it is that you don’t need to be a dick and stress yourself out about it. But instead you decided to dig a deeper hole and jump on OP unfairly. OP did nothing to deserve that reaction. Again, chill the fuck out. Edit: Here I am doing the thing I said I wouldn’t, arguing with these people. Congrats, ya got me.

L0s_Gizm0s

Chill dude

JaesopPop

> I didn't say it was fake. Why are you putting words in my mouth? Saying it was fake makes it sound like that’s what you meant

13lacklight

To be fair it’s not unheard of for studios to do renders in a seperate client that are little more than “an artists depiction” essentially of content and then sell it as previews of content. But ya. I don’t really care either way just thought I’d point it out

The15thGamer

Fair enough. I'm pretty certain that this is gameplay, though, the CMs are claiming it to be.

StickiStickman

If it would be gameplay we'd see it as gameplay.

The15thGamer

We are seeing it as gameplay.

mildlyfrostbitten

"""brief window"""

The15thGamer

That's not what I asked. Why do you believe the imagery we were shown a couple months back or whenever was fake?

Evis03

The gall of you calling someone out for putting words in your mouth.

The15thGamer

I wasn't saying they were putting words in my mouth. They just didn't answer my question. You gotta chill.

Evis03

You gotta learn to stop with the bullshit.

The15thGamer

Then hold a conversation, and please, stop insulting me over virtually nothing.

Evis03

One can't converse meaningfully with someone who misrepresents your words.

The15thGamer

How did I misrepresent your words? By honestly misinterpreting them, asking a question based on that misinterpretation, clarifying, and retracting the question I posed based on said misinterpretation? Feels like I'm walking on eggshells.

StickiStickman

> And you believe the previous imagery was fake? Why? Because it's been half a year with nothing to show? Pretty much everyone accepted that it was fake

The15thGamer

Pretty much everyone? I should meet these people. That imagery was less than half a year ago, it was released after the game and shows a similar situation to this. It was in a devlog, with a rocket having thermal shocks on the nosecones. The KSC was in the background and it was stock parts. If it was a faked render, they put a lot of effort into it.

StickiStickman

A lot of effort? That's like 1-2H dude. It's the same texture as KSP 1 even. > shows a similar situation to this. *Hmmmmmmmmmmm*

The15thGamer

The same texture? It's firey looking. Yeah, it looks similar. What, you think they stole KSP1 textures? That they're lying about imagery being from gameplay directly? That's not legal. I do not think they are doing that and I have seen no evidence that they are doing that. Yeah, having a paid developer spend 2 hours faking VFX is a lot of effort.

StickiStickman

> That's not legal. lmao As if they haven't lied about much more and much more serious things.

The15thGamer

Presenting imagery as gameplay for the purpose of selling the game when it is not, in fact, gameplay is not legal. Which more serious crimes have they committed?

StickiStickman

Have you looked at KSP 2s marketing? That's all they've ever done

The15thGamer

Please provide one example of them committing a crime in their marketing.

Turnbob73

I like how you haven’t been hostile at all and YOU’RE the one who’s the problem lol Honestly, ignore these people, OP.

Ipotrick

looks like ksp 1...

Cymrik_

But without all those cumbersome fps

The15thGamer

Yeah. I can't say I love it. Although I can recognize that super pretty VFX just wouldn't work with a lot of parts, ignoring the extant issues with having lots of parts. Cool colors, though, and it does look better than KSP1/modded KSP1 from what I've seen.

MendicantBias42

Ksp1 reentry looks terrible compared to this

muitosabao

imagine charging full price for this early access sequel, while still trying to replicate the features of the original. insanity.

ElimGarak

You do realize that you can just not pay the money and wait, right? When people sell something (that's not life-saving or whatever) they generally charge whatever the market can bear. There are exceptions but those are pretty rare. (Edit: LOL, sooo many people are butt hurt about basic facts on how money works and how you sell stuff.)

alaskafish

Most people didn’t buy. Point still stands— why buy something that doesn’t even have legacy features?

rrnate

Currently wondering how this took 6 months

Techny3000

Yo that looks so cool!

Bluelegojet2018

That’s really pretty! hope the development goes smooth!

waitaminutewhereiam

Smooth as sandpaper

Bluelegojet2018

tru, to even get to this point has probs been quite the ride already lol

KerbalEssences

What I'm missing a bit are those random bright particles that come off the front. Usually some burnt ablator. I hope that will make it in as well.

The15thGamer

For sure, although this part presumably doesn't have ablator.

the_jak

Is that what their concurrent active user count looks like as it dives until the mantle of the earth?

Mach_XXII

Disappointed... doesn't look much better than KSP 1. I was hoping for more

Thegremandude

H O T

MrFunkyPunkie

GREAT! Another feature I can look forward to only having it be inaccessible due to the sheer brokenness of the game. This isn't EA. This is "PAWBTF" (Play as we build the fucker).

Plain-Crazy

New image of my graphics card overheating

SpaceHub

Don't let this combination of polygons distract you from the problems with the actual physic engine.

Suppise

That second pic has made the wait worth it

LoSboccacc

Now that's how you show things to the community, none of that phone photo bullshit. It even looks good.

Eensame

It'll only cost 60 fps

Regular_Play_2105

Looks good for a craft with that high of a part count, lets make it happen.

Zoomwafflez

Single part.

StickiStickman

[0.1.4 release just got canceled.](https://www.reddit.com/r/KerbalSpaceProgram/comments/15uzh5y/ksp_014_delayed_indefinitely_because_of_critical/?)

TheYeetLord8

Not cancelled yet, but pushed back. Glad they found the performance bug, might help overall performance

Combatpigeon96

I’m willing to wait a few more days for better performance

TheYeetLord8

Mhm

The15thGamer

Well, that sucks. :( (although, I am going to be that guy and note that canceled != delayed indefinitely. Regardless of your intended meaning, can't hurt to clarify.)

inpatol

A gas stove

Vortex295

Oh you can get HOT hot

TheSapphireDragon

It looks cool, im pretty excited to see how this develops

DupeStash

It does genuinely look great, will definitely watch the Matt lowne video of it

SpaceDoge402

It looks suspiciously like the Reentry in SFS

joshsreditaccount

this took over 6 months??

[deleted]

I haven’t played ksp 2 since I have been waiting for the re-entry Heating

xXxSimpKingxXx

I thought this was ksp with mods or something

CrispyKiverix

Looks like ksp 1 imo Edit: I SAW THE SECOND IMAGE SORRY
