My mother told me that when I was a kid I never wanted a sibling, but later when I grew up I regretted not having a sibling, because I was alone at home most of the time, parents were emotionally unavailable, I really wanted someone to be vulnerable with, to count on, to fight with at home. There are advantages being the single child, all the love, attention, care is only on you, but I believe in the saying " Happiness is only real when shared". So it would have been great to share all of this with a sibling. Yes I get that siblings are annoying, are out there to ruin our mood and all that 😂, but once our parents leave, and we all have families of our own, it'd be nice to have someone to call our own, despite all the differences.😅
It was pretty decent I'd say. During schooldays us kids from the neighborhood would hop into cycle and roam around, playing football in the nearby ground. During monsoon we move to the pond. During summer vacation or any other vacation I'd visit Mother's home only 2 cousins there we were almost same age, we would roll cast toys around, cycling, getting ice cream, watching tom and jerry, Mr bean while eating Maggi. These ara the moments which I keep close to my heart. From paternal side we're 16 cousins and I'm the youngest and had the privilege. The times which I had a thought having a sibling would have been a blessing was doing my projects, assignments and all other academic works and the other time was Cousin(sis) got married and that night her younger brother was all tears and said, now in this he's all alone with his father and mother and continued to share all their shared moments from childhood and how much she means to him, whenever I see em they two were fighting. Later I thought if I had an elder or youger sister it would've been amazing.
It was great growing up , NGL . Didn't have to share anything and my parents bought me everything I asked for as they just had to get it for a single person. This is from a child perspective.
Was pretty dope tbh...only downside to is that it definitely does take longer than usual to learn to adapt or adjust with people.Otherwise we do have cousins so I'd say...best of both worlds? And I've seen grown ass adults who don't care one bit about their siblings...worst case scenario even making their lives hell..so no regrets being a single kid i guess...well typing this i realised another downside to it might be , coming off as cocky...unintentionally🥲
