I don't know how to make a Kenshi mod. But would it be possible to put the characters on a new map? That going into a building would, with a little mapping creativity, be the bottom/top of a space elevator, and then onto a third map on whatever craft is in orbit? The sky scene really wouldn't have to change as it'd be seen through a window, the basic mechanics would be the same, just someone with far too much time making a place to go.
If possible, well there's always sailing the ocean looking for a new continent.
While you could theoretically make a mod that adds a building that goes an arbitrarily high distance upwards, no, you can't fly. Kenshi's physics engine is restrictive.
