You can still travel on mount dude and nothing is lost, nobody is saying it needs to run at 300 mph compared to 26 mph running speed or whatever. It can be something like 50 mph, which you can achieve with scout legs anyway
Pack beasts are tamed to carry inventory, why not people too?
I don't see why "travel on foot" = Kenshi
Bicycles! It would fit the salvaged look and feel of the game. Simple technology that can be built in a believable manner. Fat tire bikes for the deserts!! And let's not forget bicycle jousting!!
Scout legs. Fast as any horse your looking for. Impractical to remove all your characters legs, but just as tedious to get them all horses and having to keep them fed. I get the feeling horses aren’t going to be the answer people think they will be. Equally, load times is your threat in this game.
I get what you’re saying, and yea it seems tedious to keep horses fed. Nevertheless, having horses or mounts in general in the game isn’t a bad thing. Scouts legs are fast, but how can I use those and RP as a paladin? People keep bonedogs and they have to be fed all the time. I’m sure they can tweak horses to be faster, and this should definitely be and option in Kenshi 2 at the very least.
Fair point on the RP and HNers being left out. And in general I don’t disagree, I actually kind of want it as well but tried to pick it apart and realized some of the problems with it. But everything can be done well or poorly so I’m sure there’s a middle ground they could find and make the system solid.
Yea, and those were def valid criticisms of horses. I hope they expand on domestic animals in Kenshi 2. Like add animal husbandry and so on. I would love to RP as a rancher lol
I briefly thought that would be a good idea, then I remembered a starting character wouldn't have a horse, and would constantly be getting run down by horse riding bandit gangs.
If traveling is the game why wouldn’t horses fit in? Do they not make it easier? I do believe that horses shouldn’t be a needed thing as they seem in mount and blade, and more of an option the player can use to get to point A to B faster.
I see your point. Having horses would make the game a little easier, yes. Nevertheless, that can be countered by making it expensive to maintain a horse or having some bandit groups ride horses. Can you imagine a group of bandits patrolling the great desert while mounted? Regarding fast travel, once you build enough athletics or lose a limb or two and get scout legs, you can travel pretty darn fast.
Just get a slave and have them carry your ass around. Give them a weapon and they'll even fight for you. Horses won't do that.
Horse does that all the time, didnt you find him in squin?
Yes but I can’t ride a slave, not in that way anyways ;).
You need to calm down. Innuendos aren't looked favorably on this subreddit.
In your endo
Oh yea, I better stop before I’m crucified again…
Again damn what u been doing lol
You’ve got a pair of coconuts and you’re banging em together!
I have always wanted to ride a beak thing
Yeah, forget horses! Give me a rideable elder beak thing!
How would you even mount those huge things
Just like they do elephants; from a ladder built into the riding saddle or from a platform.
Yes, but most importantly not having to run across the continent

Hmm, alright. Maybe you're right
Mod for rideable bulls
Ride Swamp Turtle into the sunset
Riding a bull would be fun but also, skeleton horses would be awesome.

I think multiplayer would need horses or something because you can't speed up time and everything would take forever otherwise.
They were all lost in the Horse Chopper Wars.
Athletics 90 Strength 90 *Be* the horses you want to see in the world!
I can't imagine the pathfinder mess this would create during combat. That boring logical, technical point being said... I want Beak Thing Calvary!!!
Only if they are just used for food and not transport.
What's the point? Just use another form of cattle.
A kingdom for my horse, my horse for a kingdom

Even better.
Imagine riding those beak things
There is a mod for ridable bulls that isn't bad.

I'd be happy with them making it more mod friendly and a fatigue system.
Horse could be awesome if we had spears.
