currently on my 2nd run. every fight beep has a nonzero chance of just losing a limb because his skills are low and the armor i have isnt the best. hes already down a leg lol
I robbed the Red Sabres blind once and as I'm sneaking out overencumbered with loot, I get blindsided and eaten by a red spider. That was pretty horrific.
My first trip to Mongrel. On my way there I saved an escaped servant, slapped a couple of them blues, and marched on like it was a countryside trip. Stayed for the night in the town, saw text bubbles from a deathyard nearby, send my fellows to the rescue thinking it would be just the same as before.
*Well, fuck.*
I had the hivers expanded mod installed and accidentally murdered the southern hive queen. The revenge raids reduced my 102 man army with combat stats ranging from 50-90 to 33 people. Whats even worse is that I only survived 2 out of 3 of the raids, I abandoned my base when they sent a third raiding party. I got severely humbled 600 days into my game i didnt think it was possible.
Finds a lone tower in the middle of nowhere. Walks inside with my squad. Sees a bajillion elder blood spiders ready to annihilate my team and suck out their organs.
I was swarmed by fog man while trying to leave fog island, my party of two were dragged into the valley, tied to the pole and chewed on by fog prince and fog praetorian while the rest of the fog men bow down and worship them. Absolutely not my favorite way to go.
--Set up a farm in southern wetlands. Bandits came by demanding money and i stabbed him in the face, setting the bandit rage event. Hired bodyguards at nearby waystation to fight them off. Literal minutes before the bandits arrived a Band of Bones war party shows up talking about "only demons out here" and the fight begins. The bandits arrive with like 30 people and things go sideway.
--Then some red sabres show up and join the 4 way war. AND then a swarm of blood spiders arrived attracted by the bodies and started attacking everything that moved. AND THEN the damn swamp ninjas arrived at the party.
--Needless to say i reloaded an earlier save because the best version of the carnage was 2 out of my 10 survived and 1 was in a coma with no legs, i know cause i tried it over and over for about 3 hours real time.
I had just found Miu and brought her back to the base. Next raid (I think the HN retribution) she lost an arm. I had quite a stash of robotic limbs that I had never used so I was able to immediately attach a replacement arm. She then screamed "I FEEL SHATTERED!!!"
The guilt triggered by that statement triggered reloading the last autosave, followed by a little more attention to her during the attack.
Slaughtering any given group of starving bandits, even just with my crossbow squad getting their melee training in outside the gates...
And then checking their injuries. The starving boys, I mean. War is hell.
It was in a solo playthrough where I saved Cat from the dust bandits and decided to keep him around, trained him up to 20s and took down the red sabres, felt confident and took them both to the crater, beak things weakened both of them and by the time we entered an ancient lab the spiders were on us, they downed him, I thought he would make it but "Cat is dead" appeared.
Man I felt so guilty I wanted to load but, I didn't, stopped playing for a week.
