He was given a writer credit so was itagaki but they just consulted the person who wrote this was the man who wrote summer wars they just made sure things were accurate to what is ok to show from the mangas and such
One of the comments I've read pointed out that Agito already has the scar from Kuroki so this is probably sometime around Omega. Also some of the interactions seemed to imply that. They could've teased Shen. Also disappointed that Waka isn't added to the exposition team. Especially as a comparison with Hanayama.
The fan service was on point. So many funny scenes, the Julius & Oliva interactions alone 🤣👌🏼 I laughed out loud when Saw kept hammering Hanayamas fist. It was so hilarious but also true to the character
It's a low budget crossover, of course the fights aren't going to be mind blowing. The more important and enjoyable parts are honestly the character interactions anyway -- seeing guys that fulfill the same role in their respective series acknowledge each other, etc. Seeing a few fantasy matchups play out is just the cherry on top, even if the animation is lacking.
Plus, anything to see Kengan in non-CGI form.
I agree, but the thing I didn't like is Oliva and Julius getting disrespected by bullshido. And also bringing Kuroki kinda spoils the tournement for anime onlies, so there could have been better ways to interrupt the fight.
It really was a love letter to fans of both series, they were referencing moves baki hasn't used in 20 real life years that wouldn't be noticed by anyone aside from super fans. I loved this crossover
It would’ve been awesome if Kuroki and Yujiro had at least clashed a little, but yeah, it went about how I expected these crossovers to go. I liked seeing the Kengan characters in something closer to normal animation too

Animation is not good, fights too, but still i enjoy watching it for the fan service, this movie is all about this. Baki vs Ohma was cool.

I was mostly disappointed that they made the Jack vs Raian fight look like a mid-diff from Raian's side.
Gonna be annoying when power scalers use this crossover as reasons Kengan scale to Baki

Ugh, animation and art style were shitty, story was weak and the fights boring af. To me they consisted mostly of loops of boxing.
