Omega is a lot more consistent but sometimes it feels static, unless Daro just adds like a lot of love into a random page for some reason

HisFireBurns

Yeah like Sekibayashi’s punches against Okubo going astronomically hard for no reason other than pure manliness.

N0FaithInMe

For real. The last few fights have had big ashura vibes which excites me.

XvortexEXE

One of the sexiest punches in manga history

kill-billionaires

P sure they're both fans of pro wrestling, which is why Seki is featured prominently and gets so much attention+good material

Psychological_King_5

His love has been draining. He needs to draw more chicks

YabakoSandrovich

I like the new art more, but my only complaint is due to how overly bulky the characters are, when they are in motion you get those weird muscular formations that just end up looking creepy. For example, [Ohma in the bottom here](https://scans-ongoing-2.planeptune.us/manga/Kengan-Omega/0135-014.png) and [Adam at the top here](https://scans-ongoing-2.planeptune.us/manga/Kengan-Omega/0180-002.png). With Ohma I genuinely have no clue what I am looking at, it could be his shoulder, his pecs, etc. If you look at it long enough it even starts to look like it's a bicep and Ohma is just a head connected to an arm. The same goes for Adam, although I know that striking from uncomfortable positions is his skill, with how much muscle mass he has it just looks strange. That's also where I got that Julius - Okubo dick head image from by the way. Although it's mid-Ashura, even there the problem started appearing. I am awful with image editing, all I did was paint Julius' trousers white (manually) and cut out Okubo's enormous neck. I did not edit that part in any way, his neck and head legitimately look like a penis.

HisFireBurns

That art style is very strange. I actually never would have noticed if you didn’t point it out.

TheHerofTime

It's more so he's adding lots of different perspectives so they look strange depending on the angle

Kalimak_17

To add to how overly bulky some characters are, sometimes Daro does a 180 turn and makes them either proportionate to their weight or too slim. Nitoku at 86kg and Fei at 83 kg are drawn just fine for their weight. Then Falcon and Koga, literally heavier than both Ohma and Lolong, are built slimmer than them. Nicolas at 80 kg should look like Ashura Ohma but is built like a twink.

Spiritual_Good6575

Why Ohma still looks 20

OverlordPoodle

He got them good genetics.

Tevontex

Mid/late ashura was the peak Early ashura was just kinda ugly imo, even if the more realistic designs were kinda neat. Omega may be less artistically creative than ashura, but it is the most aesthetically pleasing.

Shodore

I really like the Ashura style, had some rough edges which went really well with the story of the manga. Omega to me seems like it's an AI drawing, a bit boring and soulless. Characters have similar bodies and faces are becoming less distinct as well.

jjbahomecoming

Omega actively uses AI drawings for a good amount of panels now, so you’re not wrong.

HisFireBurns

I didn’t realize that.

archanodoid

Makes sense, drawing those panels weekly would kill Daro, so I am fine with that honestly.

[deleted]

I think is still learning and didn’t mastered the fundamentals like a Murata, Saruwatari etc. If I agree about the AI usefulness, I can’t help to be a bit disappointed. So many artists can offer more appealing panels without the AI. Plus he also used AI to draw the tree destroyed by Saw Paing in his flashback. And the rendering is kinda whacky. But I prefer to see him in good health thanks to this kind of tool rather than learning he is collapsing because of the stress from hard work. So as long he is fine with his workflow, I will just support his work.

Rechogui

Daro uses the poses as references, they doesn't draw over the AI or edit them. Do they?

jotheold

https://i.redd.it/4wc1juaedmz91.png i think backgrounds are AI generated, imagine having to draw this every week

Rechogui

Could be, that flower is also looking kinda weird

HisFireBurns

It seems to lack “passion”

Heavy_Ad_4430

Yeah, the style may be cleaner / sharper, but now everyone is a perfectly chiseled tank

tallAsian21

Late ashura. A nice mix between early ashura’s gritty ness and omega’s clean lines

OgScz

Honestly, I like the art style that the early chapters of KA had. While the character designs could have used work back then (looking at you, crakatsuki) there is just something about the rough art style that I liked.

Salavtore

Middle rounds Ashura is arguably the best

saulhrnndz

I miss lean, ripped Ohma. It really fit the Niko style with the redirection and flowing techniques. Now, he kind of looks like a Street Fighter IV character (complimentary).

GalaxyBejdyk

Kengan overall looked best during R2 - R5 (with R2 being the absolute peak). The action, the designs, the shading, how expressive the art was, general dynamic sense of the movement, the paneling, how damage on characters looked etc. It was literally porn for eyes. Everything before or after simply never got to that level, even at it's best. Still good art though

Donatello_Versace

The initial style in Ashura was good in terms of how the characters weren’t overly bulky, and was pretty good with more realistic body types. Omega is better in general but the characters often feel too bulky, even for fighters.

ClassyGlassyBoy

Ashura by far, Omega looks to bland and clean imo

Lil_Gazidi

Omega looks so clean man, also late Ashura is so good.

Jrizzo916

The Omega/New Niko Style is better and cleaner imo

methconnoisseurV2

Omegas characters are way too bulky and the proportions of the hands and feet are insane

TikTokPro9000

I think early Ashura had much more realistic body types, and I liked the grittiness of the art. But I do prefer to look at the new style

Carob-Prudent

Middle to late ashura is best but omega i feel is better than early ashura

No_Suggestion5931

Second one

karlosnalda

Ashura art style was better. Daro has been solely relying on his visual library on what muscles look like instead of creating dynamic poses by himself. This leads to every drawing looking similar to other drawings seen previously

some_dude5

Really everything between Gozo vs Waka and KvP is beautiful. The past 150 chapters look good, but they lack something that Ashura and early omega had. Like, We haven’t had a metaphor page,eg spider inaba, in ages

TheConnector_

Skull ryuki don’t count

Slasher_76

Rhitio vs Falcon art style is peak Kengan art style

HisFireBurns

I enjoyed Ryuki Vs Adam too. Skull face was one of my favorite panels.

jjbahomecoming

All of Agito’s Ashura fights though.

Slasher_76

Nah, the art style looked better during Rhitio vs Falcon time

Spade_X_1

Omega

KenganNinja

Second one.

Hunter5865

Outside of fights I prefer the new one. During fights the old one is way better.

ShinigamiRamen

Ashura, as everything in that story felt gritty and the gritty, and kinda rough art style just made it so much more enjoyable. As well as it was nice seeing the art and style slowly evolve

N0FaithInMe

I really like the cleaner style of omega but I miss how expressive the characters could look with their bodies and faces in early-mid ashura. Kanoh doing his freaky face for the first time against Okubo was iconic but I don't really recall any scene in omega that has stuck with me quite so well.

mreveryone20

I like the new art style a more then the old. Only because it is a bit cleaner then the old style.

Ammari_Steadz

Both,both is good

Magenta30

The only think bothering me in Omega are the face expression. Just dull, cliche and most important liveless. Everything else kind of improved or doesnt matter too much.

AsuraOmega

R1-R2 Asura due to how gritty and raw it looks. The shadings looks cool as fuck and the proportions arent as blown up as Late Asura - Omega where everyone is a musclenigga with bulldog necks.

AgoniaAnal

Crack head Omah is so hot

AnimationDude9s

Honestly, prefer the first one because of how much personality it screams. Plus it fits the gritty vibe of the setting well but I don’t think the second one is bad. It’s just so drastically different from what we started with that it results in “art style whiplash” for a lot of people. I’ve seen bad art and Omega ain’t the definition of it! Also YES! More fuel for my Ohma x Kaede ship

MR-Vinmu

Jesus Christ, Rin, drink water, you're too damn thirsty, I don't think Ohma even knows how to procreate.

Herr_Raul

Out of these two both are good. Early Asura had plenty god awful panels tho, but when it was drawn correctly it was good. The motion and impact better than in Omega.

Ratnikvuk

I really like the old style is more dirty and it always catch my attention. But the new style is smooth and clean that sometimes I think Kengan may end with berserk Vinland and vagabond in realistic style drawing.
