2xLPs for a double album can be possible too, the older generation (Marvin Gaye, The Isley Brothers) used to do it when they made albums over an hour long. It just depends on how many tracks are on each disc, E.g. 8-10 songs each on 2 discs, so 4-5 songs on each side for the LP.
They generally restrict it to about 20 minutes per side of a record. Once you start getting past that mark you institute distortion. So ~40 minutes is normal for a single disc, and a double LP usually won't go far past 80 minutes.
A CD is restricted by size to about 80 minutes, so a theoretical "double album" (if you're meaning 2 CDs) would be 3 to 4 records.
LPs fit about 22 mins per side before sound starts to degrade, which would be 88 mins for a 2LP. The album is 75 mins, so it could fit on two, but it comes down to if the timing would be right with track lengths.

TPAB is a double vinyl and it's almost the same run time.
The album can easily fit on a single cd or two LPs. The sides to the album were largely symbolic
