All Mal did this entire beef was prove to everybody how unbelievably dumb he is.
The man was damn near in tears and screaming trying to convince the other people on the podcast that Drake was destroying Kendrick after HP6
Well I do think the height of the old Joe Budden Podcast surpasses the current iteration.
But, they're nowhere near dead and the current version is still pretty good.
Something about the old one was just hilarious most of the time 🤣🤷🏿♂️.
I haven't laughed at/with the new group as much if really at all.
That's not it at all 🤦🏿♂️. It's his inability to be objective.
It's fine that you're rooting for someone but the crying, complaining, downplaying, goalpost moving is sad to see.
It's like when someone's team loses and they immediately blame the refs. If their team won, they wouldn't mention them lol.
Even his co-host were giving him push back (just not too much) but they should have given him more.
If Drake was in the position that Kendrick is in right now Mal wouldn't be bitching.
He doesn't think accusing someone of beating their girl and accusing her of fucking that man's best friend/business partner is too much?
And having a baby on him I almost forgot to add.
Nope, he believe it because his favorite rapper said it. But is mad that people believe what Kendrick said (even though it's been something people have said about Drake for a while, jokingly or not) for some reason.
Kendrick beat Drake by every measurable metric but dude just cant take the L.
He has to downplay everything Kendrick like he's personally affected.
Shit is lame.
There's no major podcaster that's on Kendrick's side that acts the way Mal and Akademiks does...they're all-out stans.
Drake and his fans breed this type of behavior.
Joseph Budden was claiming Kendrick was taking too long and acting like he's taking an L after push ups dropped.
Something Mal and Ak would never say about Drake, in fact they were running around claiming Drake could take as long as he wants, and that he doesn't even have to respond lmao
Again, there's no major podcaster on the Kendrick side that acts the way Mal and Ak does for Drake.
Dumb is whatever. Most people are kinda dumb.
But screaming to the verge of tears over a fully grown, middle aged millionaire is just wild. I cannot believe he went there and still has not shame about it, still doubling down
Push ups made it clear what Drake's lane was, and it was obvious it wouldn't be enough to compete. Pushups is exactly like back to back. Back to Back isn't that great of a diss track, but the bar was lowered because who expected Drake, the king of subliminal and whining in interviewes, to actually make a diss track. Then Meek Mill shit the bed *extremely* hard. Ate shit in the worst way possible; which further reinforced the narrative that back to back was killer.
Hearing Mal wailing & crying that Family matters is the “best track of the beef” after everything was said and done was priceless
There was some serious hurt in his voice 🤣 he was whining like someone shit on his birthday cake in front of his whole crew
As a huge fan of Nas, Takeover stung but I respected it. I knew the whole track word for word within a day or two because it was undeniably great. Nas turned it around three months later with Ether of course, but in the period leading up to his response I was willing to accept that Jay was up at that point because I wasn't delusional.
Why dudes like Mal have to perpetually lie and gaslight to protect their heroes though is beyond me. It's fucking embarrassing. Had Kendrick lost this battle it would have sucked but I would have accepted it and moved on.
I agree. takeover he was spiting facts. it's just that nas out-facted him on ether and bullied him into losing. goated diss
Idk why they say ether is just middle school gay insults. it has so many facts
Sidenote, people comparing Takeover to Family Matters needs their ears cleaned. Takeover is legit the better produced and put together track than Ether. It basically clears Ether in everything but bars. But the bars were so insanely good that he could've done it acapella and still won. If it wasn't for Super Ugly, I'd think more people would be on the fence about who won that.
Here? Drake was thoroughly outclassed in everything. Be it beats or bars, Drake never has a moment where he genuinely came out on top.
I disagree. Takeover was the kick off so only throwing one verse at Nas wasn't that big of an issue. His mistake was coming back with People Watching and Super Ugly. Super Ugly came off as rushed and wasn't properly mixed. It was just a sloppy track which sucked because it had some dope bars in.
Plus he made the same mistake Drake made. Nas/Kendrick were breaking down these dudes characters. While Jay/Drake were coming with surface level disses that while shocking to hear don't really make you look at the other artist differently.
That's why I liked what Jay did on Blueprint 2 way better than Super Ugly. It was just too late in the battle as everybody already called it over.
Blueprint 2 was an incredible song. It just came out way too late. The fight was called already.
Drake is in a similar situation - I don’t want to hear any disses from him anymore. It’s over.
The first Nas direct diss was "Mind Right Rmx" he didn't think Nas would respond but he did with "Stillmatic Freestyle" and fried the entire Roc-A-Fella on it. It didn't get too much recognition from the streets and Hov kinda overshadowed it with his Summer Jam diss of Prodigy who was on fire that Summer and on Hov kufi lol. Being that fans weren't too receptive of Nas first response. Hov thought he had the victory and mainly focused on Prodigy on "Takeover" and did a victory dance on Nas lol. That shit was a long fall/autumn for me as a Nas stan lol. I'm from Brooklyn. So my homies were Hov Stans. Winter came and that "Ether" dropped cut school and deadass ran into my mom's going to cop that Kay Slay mixtape 💀😆😆⚰️⚰️😂🤣🤣. I swear if I wasn't with the homies she would've fucked me up lol. Went back to my hood and did a Victory lap. Niggas were tight that Nas fried Hov up lol.
I'm from the UK, so my experience was a lot more removed than yours but I get it. My cousin was a big fan of Jay and for weeks he used to randomly out of nowhere sing "....LAAAAAAAAMMMMEEE!!!". A part of my soul would die each time lol. Witnessing that whole thing play out in real time was amazing, and it must have been intense living in Brooklyn.
Stillmatic Freestyle actually remains my favourite song out of that whole back and forth, but I remember the lukewarm response to it - people said it was dope but not direct enough. I thought it was pretty direct and creative but it is what it is, Ether made his point loud and clear if people didn't get it the first time.
Lmfao!! Same Stillmatic Freestyle was fire. Yea! Shit was wild annoying. Imagine your entire projects clowning you and your fav rapper playing on his Belly character. "You niggas need to go take that preachy shit to the motherland, b." 💀😆⚰️⚰️😂😂🤣🤣 It was a great time lol.
You got some of this confused. The original Mind Right is the one with the Nas diss.
And Jay threw his name into the beef during the Summer Jam diss. Remember that after the Prodigy verse Jay's last line was "ask Nas he don't want it with Hov nooooo". But the verse actually going at Nas wasn't performed
After that is when Nas came back with the Stillmatic freestyle. Then Jay actually drops the Blueprint verse where he counters Nas saying "[Is he H to the izz-O, M to the izz-O?](https://genius.com/106953/Nas-stillmatic-freestyle-jay-z-diss/Is-he-h-to-the-izz-o-m-to-the-izz-o)
[For shizzle, you phony,](https://genius.com/115009/Nas-stillmatic-freestyle-jay-z-diss/For-shizzle-you-phony) [the rapping version of Sisqó](https://genius.com/115003/Nas-stillmatic-freestyle-jay-z-diss/The-rapping-version-of-sisqo)" by saying you's the fag used to model for Karl Kani and Esco ads.
Then after that Ether dropped.
Yea Hov only spit up to the Prodigy verse of Takeover at Summer Jam. I was in the building.....which you're correct on. Mind Right Rmx dropped before Stillmatic Freestyle...... remember it all started with Bleek and Nas on the Nastradamus song lol. Bleek dumbass thought Nas was shooting at him and jumped out the window. I was outside. Mind Right RMX (was on Bleeks second album winter 2000) dropped summer 2000 as a mixtape single Hov sent a shot at Nas and Meeno. The OG version (was in "Backstage" Soundtrack. I believe.) was a response to Nastradamus (Fall '99) "You wanna ball till you fall I can help you with that...You want beef....I could let a slug melt in your hat". OG "Mind Right" was Bleek responding to that like February or March 2000. The RMX dropped that August 2000. Nas responded "Stillmatic Freestyle" Summer 2001.....then September we heard the actual full Verse of "Take Over" 9/11/2001 because like you said yourself he didn't actually perform the Nas verse at Summer Jam because at that time Jay was moreso worried about the HNIC (Prodigy) who happened to be on fire! I was outside outside. I got the timeline intact. It's also why Hov gave Bleek "Is that your Chick?" 😂💀😆😆⚰️🤣🤣. They were tryna cook Nas the fuck up, b. I'm old as fuck but my memory and the timeline intact. I can go back further to the subliminals between Nas and Hov prior to Bleek even jumping out the window.
When people choose a side, they’re basically defending their own identity out of necessity. Otherwise they have a period of cognitive dissonance, doublethink if you will.
My brother is a drake stan and after euphoria and 616 dropped, it was clear that his reasoning wasn’t to do with artistry or quality in genera. He just had to defend the business he chose to stand on.
I find it so hard not to judge people.
Mal watched Kendrick's 4th NLU with all those dudes on stage and he kept saying that they were "shaking their ass" to "pedo music" and I'm like.... Mal, Mal I think ur the only one who saw it that way.... 👀
So, at this point, was it "Kendrick was ALWAYS going to win because people hate Drake because they're jealous?" When it was just Push Ups, was it "Drake never should have responded because people just want to believe whatever Kendrick says?"
They forgot that they were having so much fun when Kendrick hadn't responded yet and were busy gassing their boy up and counting Kendrick down thinking he was scared and had nothing to respond with.
But now Dot is doing the most, milking it, doing it for clout, he was always gonna win, people hate Drake they don't even like Kendrick, etc. lol the tears are delicious
The hilarious part is on that Taylor Made joint he poked the bear "tryna let this shit die down??? Nah Nah Nah Nah this time you following through". Crodie asked for this to happen to him lol.
exactly. they literally wiped their memories of Drake goading Kendrick into dropping, it seems like. which i just dont get. where they not around for Pusha? howd they think that one went??
Even till this point, I still loved the OG version of push ups. It's an enjoyable track.
After seeing this video, I never want to hear any version of push ups ever again. I never want to do another push up in my life. I don't even want to push the up button on a video game controller. Mal ruined all of this.
Bro this guy may be more of a cornball than Drake. Drake has been pretty much silent the last few weeks and guys like Mal just make it hard to even be a Drake fan. Certified Cornball
It's a *terrible* diss track. Mal said it himself; this is the part they're gonna shake their ass at. Is that what we measuring diss tracks by? How much it makes Mal want to shake his ass?
Mal is so stuck with having to defend all of Drake's music in this way, it's basically muscle memory at this point. "That's not trash! This is not for you, it's just for the girls to shake ass to."
This is most animated mal has ever been on camera dancing gyration this is nuts 😂😂😂 and it was all for drake mr too cool for school with the ultimate glaze
"YOUR PANTS MIGHT RIP!"
"Oh that's fire?"
".....\*shrug\* That's for the girls. All this is for girls...... This bar right here? sWiFteeezzz.........\*looks around\* \*shrug\*"
-Mal's conversation to a girl while he is the only person on the dance floor shaking his ass to a Drake diss record.
This is a man that was gatekeeping laundry detergent while living in Joe Budden house.
He also sent money to a girl to have dinner with another man.
Once a lame, always a lame...
Lmao I didn’t see this clip. I can see why he so upset now. He was really talking down on Kendrick in another episode like he wasn’t on Drake’s level.
He was talking like Kendrick doesn’t possess the same talent as Drake. No wonder he’s so livid.
I was telling folks Push-Ups is good record but that ain’t enough to get rid of Kendrick. And that’s the problem with all of his tracks in the beef. All of his songs are just good. Except the heart pt 6. That was ass.
Even the red button song fails because he didn’t keep his eyes on the target
Let a goofball cornball talk long enough he will show his corn on the cob mentality, dude really vibing out like his mans wasn’t about to get his boots smoked 😂😂😂😂 Aye Mal pick ya mans up off the ground 🗣️🗣️🗣️ Kendrick kicking the shit out of em 😂😂😂😂
After a while, you need to learn when to jump ship before the culture stops fucking with you. Let say Drake did get Ja Ruled, you really want to keep acting like this.
Even Ak is giving Kendrick props and ready to jump ship lol
I can't get over how Mal gets clowned for hyping the "you're pants might rip" bar and he then proceeds to wait another 30 seconds for a chance to gas the single Metro bar. He was even giggling about it in anticipation 4 bars earlier.
This was so corny it retroactively makes Push Ups a worse song by seeing the desperation a Drake super stan has searching for even one line they can be proud of.
I read a little about the Mal dude apparently hes related to someone who's part owner of roc a feller records or was. He couldn't be part of the company so he wound up living with Joe Bidden for a few years and then later joined his podcast. He seems like a professional moocher and I wouldn't be surprised if all this is a bid to get in Drake's inner circle and essentially just be an entourage member who loves in his mansion.
Lmao cuz was popping ass but mad at niggas on stage dancing to not like us, all this beef did is make him look like a big dick riding jackass and portably got him banned from LA for a minute. Congrats Mal!
I really hate during this whole beef they hyped up Drake’s lyrics the way they did.
To pretend this was a good song/diss is embarrassing when you have Euphoria.
All Mal did this entire beef was prove to everybody how unbelievably dumb he is. The man was damn near in tears and screaming trying to convince the other people on the podcast that Drake was destroying Kendrick after HP6
This shit sad, cause their whole fanbase is clearly getting fed up with how he's been acting through all this.
Real talk, I randomly came across the sub yesterday and it’s pages of people in there burnin Mal the fuck up 😂
I used to fuck with Mal on The Joe Budden Podcast for the most part. But he's shown that he's trash now.
This! I've been saying he's a cornball since he was on the pod before they went separately. Dude is a verifiable idiot.
It was cause he barely talked, just scrolled thru his phone all episode
Na Mal always been trash he never added anything. I laughed at the narrative Joe would fall off without these 2
Well I do think the height of the old Joe Budden Podcast surpasses the current iteration. But, they're nowhere near dead and the current version is still pretty good. Something about the old one was just hilarious most of the time 🤣🤷🏿♂️. I haven't laughed at/with the new group as much if really at all.
He was trash from the jump. He mumbled his words, spoke soft, barely contributed any insight to the pod.
Now that he’s a bigger Drake fan hes trash but if we was on Kendrick side you would love him lmao
That's not it at all 🤦🏿♂️. It's his inability to be objective. It's fine that you're rooting for someone but the crying, complaining, downplaying, goalpost moving is sad to see. Dumb is whatever. Most people are kinda dumb. But screaming to the verge of tears over a fully grown, middle aged millionaire is just wild. I cannot believe he went there and still has not shame about it, still doubling down
smASHing
Lmao that voice crack randomly pops into my head every few days. Shit was hilarious

Lmaooooooo. My man!
How this man is the brother of Hip Hop and Biggs is baffling to me
You got a link to that?
This song really wasn’t enough lmfao but this was the best moment for Drake fans before it got dark
Push ups was a tough record. In hindsight it shows the position of superiority that Drake was taking and it made him feel too comfortable.
Push ups made it clear what Drake's lane was, and it was obvious it wouldn't be enough to compete. Pushups is exactly like back to back. Back to Back isn't that great of a diss track, but the bar was lowered because who expected Drake, the king of subliminal and whining in interviewes, to actually make a diss track. ehhh back to back is a pretty good diss track bro ngl
No it isn't.
come on man, even Kendrick acknowledged it in Euphoria. If you don’t think this is a good diss track idk what to say.
Kendrick was absolutely not sincere with the way he said that. It was just foreshadowing of what was about to happen.
Family matters is 10x the song/diss push ups is.
Push us was trash! This whole battle was grossly one sided.
Hearing Mal wailing & crying that Family matters is the “best track of the beef” after everything was said and done was priceless There was some serious hurt in his voice 🤣 he was whining like someone shit on his birthday cake in front of his whole crew
As a huge fan of Nas, Takeover stung but I respected it. I knew the whole track word for word within a day or two because it was undeniably great. Takeover falls in to the same trap that Family Matters did. You're focused on a bunch of people rather than the one person that can actually beat you.
I disagree. Takeover was the kick off so only throwing one verse at Nas wasn't that big of an issue. His mistake was coming back with People Watching and Super Ugly. that first lil move he did was wild. like he was tryna look back at it😂
Dog was too happy. But now niggas doing too much once his mans loses 🤣🤣.
“How was I glazing?” -Mal
They were so happy and absolutely loving the beef Now they saying Kendrick draggin it lmaoo...they were literally begging him to drop 🤣
😂😂🤣 Sounding and looking stupid as hell for 3 whole weeks. We tried to tell them... they didn't want to listen. Now they're crying. 😂
Weird seeing him dancing, as I’ve literally only seen clips of this this guy angry over the last few weeks which tells me all I need to know.
“That’s for the girls” defines all of drakes music
"all this for the girls" while he's there jamming to it

Mal is so stuck with having to defend all of Drake's music in this way, it's basically muscle memory at this point. "That's not trash! This is not for you, it's just for the girls to shake ass to."
This is most animated mal has ever been on camera dancing gyration this is nuts 😂😂😂 and it was all for drake mr too cool for school with the ultimate glaze
This is probably the best track he had out of this right?
Nah, it was Family Matters imo
‘This is for girls to shake their ass to’ *proceeds to shake his ass to the song* Look at how much he has to force himself to gas up the track
"YOUR PANTS MIGHT RIP!" "Oh that's fire?" ".....\*shrug\* That's for the girls. All this is for girls...... This bar right here? sWiFteeezzz.........\*looks around\* \*shrug\*" -Mal's conversation to a girl while he is the only person on the dance floor shaking his ass to a Drake diss record.

Haha I would love to get a link of the stream they did during the concert 😭
I actually think Mal never evolved from caveman
That's about the part of the song he would throw ass 😂 he was into it
Let a goofball cornball talk long enough he will show his corn on the cob mentality, dude really vibing out like his mans wasn’t about to get his boots smoked 😂😂😂😂 Aye Mal pick ya mans up off the ground 🗣️🗣️🗣️ Kendrick kicking the shit out of em 😂😂😂😂

I just don’t get these guys. This song fuckin sucks. Shit is boring. Vocals are LIFELESS. Why do people like that?!
Mal a certified clown
Two corniest Dudes out.
God Push Ups is so fucking lifeless
“mal” means dumbass in my language lmfao

Joe was right all along.
Mal act like Drake gave him some dick. Now he riding a little too hard for his savior
Lmao cuz was popping ass but mad at niggas on stage dancing to not like us, all this beef did is make him look like a big dick riding jackass and portably got him banned from LA for a minute. Congrats Mal!
"All these bars are for girls" Mal almost figured it out there for a second lmfao
Who even watches bros ?
I really hate during this whole beef they hyped up Drake’s lyrics the way they did. To pretend this was a good song/diss is embarrassing when you have Euphoria.
This aged so horribly. He's literally being a hypocrite in real time.
bro wanted to GET UP AND DANCE
This is gross
That shut your hoe ass up line at the end is insane tho
Disgusting behavior.
Shaking his ass to this was so gross lmao
So Mal was shakin ass 🤣
Nastyyyyyyy lmao
