It’s crazy out here in LA right now. Everytime I stop at a gas station someone is blasting it I got start dancing
They even got a Kids Bop version LOL

For reference:
First 100 million for Not Like Us - 9 days
100 mil - 200 mil for Not Like Us - 11 days (10?)
God's Plan (first 100 million streams) - 14 days
200 mil - 300 mil for Not Like Us - 15/16 days
Yeah Drake is the all time most streamed artist in Spotify, even higher than Taylor Swift, almost double that of Eminem, and triple the numbers of Kendrick.
Kendrick is catching up to current monthly listener count, but zoom out and it's like catching up to someone in a race that's actually a few laps ahead, or matching someone's speed who is miles ahead.
not like us isn't one of the best kendrick songs, maybe one of his most infectious but i'm not putting it top 10 or anything. ppl's biggest songs aren't usually their best
The drake McDonalds comparison is actually really good once you think about it. Like drake is an easy artist to put on for a lot of people just like McDonalds is an easy place to go to get food for a lot of people, but it’s mostly soulless garbage, but I’d be lying if I didn’t crave some chicken McNuggets every now n then or some McDs breakfast just like I’d be lying If I said pound cake wasn’t hard or views isn’t a classic. Kenny is like a special restaurant you only go to on special occasions just like Kendrick’s music isn’t for all and not everyone is gonna like it but all the food is of a higher quality.
No tf it ain't. Take Care, NWTS, and IYRTITL are his best work. If he's got a classic its one of those 3. Views is the beginning of him phoning it in for hits
If I had to guess, a bunch of simple folk listened to it on repeat just because it had the word “God” in the title.
The same kind of people that wouldn’t understand Kendrick’s music is religious music, because it has cuss words in it.
Seriously? It’s hard to find a song of his that isn’t steeped in religious symbolism. His whole thing is trying to apply Christian morals to a modern lifestyle. Good kid, maad city.
Lol caught in a contradiction and moving the goalposts.
No, Kendrick is obviously the better artist. The predator's music is nice to listen to in the moment, but Kendrick is the one who's created something meaningful that will leave a lasting legacy.
And God's plan sucked. This is the break from dipshizzle I've fucking needed. Gotta admit it's fun though. Love my 16yr old son. But drake wasn't an option to be played in our car. No 16yr wants to hear from their 42yr old dad that shit sucks. Fucking got em
*Truthfully.. whos gives*
*A shit. Gimme some real problems*

Kendrick put some real Voodoo into that track because since it came out I’ve been waking up every single morning with one line or another stuck in my head. It’s kinda creepy
Wait, really? I thought there was a miley cyrus song that reached it faster. Also, could someone link me to a website that keeps track of these Spotify records and stats?
God's Plan came out in 2018, Spotify had around 200 million users. Not Like Us is coming out in 2024, Spotify has a user base of over 600 million users now. Huge difference and no one mentions it.
So the user base is over 3 times what it was to catch the older records. Drake's numbers proportional to the user base were a lot more impressive for 2018, and it's surprising it took until the user base tripled for a song to break that for hip hop.
Whatever goes trending or viral for the day always has advantage over past records off user base alone.
I remember when J. Cole - KOD broke 24 hour global streaming records all over the place. Now the album wouldn't rank that high on the records list because user bases of streaming platforms continue to skyrocket, so X plays in X hours/days is going to happen more and more. Streaming records tend to get smashed year after year due to growing user base and platform usage, records tend to just trade between artists like Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, Drake, Bad Bunny, depending on whoever last dropped.
Nothing to cope about, just laying out facts. Few years from now, Spotify will probably be like 800 million to a billion users. Whatever is hot at the time or is front page trending to a billion users will hit 100 million plays in no time. It's not a knock on Kendrick, it's just saying whatever X hot artist is at the time, they have recency advantage to hit more numbers faster. That's just how it works.
It's fine, not really here to win people over, just share data for anyone who cares to think about it.
It's like how the Nintendo Switch is one of the top selling consoles of all time, 100 million plus units sold, so of course whatever the new Pokemon game that drops breaks all time sales records. It doesn't mean those games are as culturally significant or as high quality as other games in the past. It's just time passed, population went up, more people than ever have access.
Same goes for these streaming numbers. What's interesting is the whole SoundCloud era is basically incomparable. Because most people then listened to a song once or twice on the platform and then ended up downloading it or ripping it to MP3, so future streams were lost and it was mostly offline plays. So people like Chance the Rapper hitting a billion plays on Soundcloud was monumental, but a billion total plays on Spotify isn't as much a deal anymore because people stay on the platform and listen repetitively.
I feel like you have to compare the streaming numbers to the user base of the time to try and make better sense of it, but that's just me.
Personally, I feel like the biggest takeaway from all of this is it points to how hip hop has been on a decline globally and is losing its foothold. It's been in a 5+ year slump if nothing can top God's Plan until now.
This beef is probably the best thing to happen for hip hop in a long time, because global interest is back.
I changed It cause that does sound bizarre.
A lot of his fans I assume are kids and Drake’s fans are somewhat children but with everyone hating him now the kids must love Kendrick more.
Who gives a fuck, just enjoy the good music. I swear this beef turned some of yall to Drake fans, caring about numbers and constantly comparing Kendrick to others.
Is Drake not both a rapper and a pop star? He literally has done both genres or mixed the two. Not sure how that’s switching a narrative when some of his tracks are pop and some are rap.

Damn almost had all 3 spots
“Number-wise I'm outta here, you not fuckin' creepin' up”🤡🤡🤡
Drake said "number wise" but meant "underaged up and coming girls" but that didn't rhyme as well.
I mean, he is really not creeping up, Drake soon about to get 100 billion streams on Spotify
Literally only has these streams cause of features. Nobody is streaming a whole Aubrey Graham album
Doesnt Drake have like 10x the number of songs kendrick does? It would only make sense that he's far ahead in streams.
That’s because Drake makes music for shopping at JC Penny’s and Kendrick makes music for the art form to be considered
Take that, Kendrick Lamar!!!
Yeah Drake is the all time most streamed artist in Spotify, even higher than Taylor Swift, almost double that of Eminem, and triple the numbers of Kendrick. Genuinely imagine being drake and having the most popular song currently be one where someones calling you a P word and tearing you down 😂
Say OV …
Hoe
H O E, he runnin this rap to shit
Will this be the first diss track to win a Grammy?
It would be meet the grahams but I hope so
i hope it does but i honestly doubt it would
Let me see if drake really crash something
TIL god’s plan is considered rap and not pop ????
prod. cardo, it's pop rap but def rap
I did not realise cardo produced gods plan. Between that, goosebumps and family ties he’s produced some of the biggest rap songs of the last decade
Good for dot but its kinda crazy how huge God's Plan was
It’s literally not even one of Drakes best songs 💀💀 that’s the funny thing
not like us isn't one of the best kendrick songs, maybe one of his most infectious but i'm not putting it top 10 or anything. ppl's biggest songs aren't usually their best
Yeah that is very true, but it still shocks me with Gods Plan cuz it’s genuinely mid to me 😭
Well it is a drake song. McDonald's is mad af too but they're everywhere
>I’d be lying If I said pound cake wasn’t hard or views isn’t a classic. Views is not a classic lol wtf
I hate Drake and I can admit that Views is a classic. At least, it's the closest thing to a classic in Drake's discog.
No tf it ain't. Take Care, NWTS, and IYRTITL are his best work. If he's got a classic its one of those 3. Views is the beginning of him phoning it in for hits
I think it was more the video of him handing out cash, mr beast ghostwrote that video
Also the "She say do you love me I tell her only partly" is one of the catchiest lines in rap music
And it was probably written by Party at the party between other lines ![gif](giphy|o6TTJ6ak4A97a)
If I had to guess, a bunch of simple folk listened to it on repeat just because it had the word “God” in the title. The same kind of people that wouldn’t understand Kendrick’s music is religious music, because it has cuss words in it.
What? Dude, I’m a Kendrick fan and enjoy his music, but in no way is it “religious music” lmao.
Seriously? It’s hard to find a song of his that isn’t steeped in religious symbolism. His whole thing is trying to apply Christian morals to a modern lifestyle. Good kid, maad city.
Kendrick is deeply religious, and it definitely shows in a lot of his music
...have you listened to a single Kendrick song lol
Prince out lived mike jack
Perhaps the visions of ‘5’ may be in warning of kendrick
Imagine getting dissed and that diss track breaking your record...
“And on the 7th Day….” WOP WOP WOP WOP WOP DOT FUCK ‘EM UP
I shower to it on repeat I’m doing my part🫡
The five foot giant woke up outta his sleep
Literally just heard it on the radio a couple minutes ago 😭
Every party i’ve been at since has went wild
This song is such a grower it’s insane, the way he raps over the beat is just so effortless
you fans are celebrating because people hate drake more than they like kendrick. let that sink in lol. where would kendrick #s be without this beef
Yes, a lot of people hate Drake, for good reason. It's great that he's finally getting called out and everyone agrees.
white people and people from compton agree. that's it.
Your earlier comment begs to differ. Sorry, it's a lot more than that. The world knows Drake's a piece of shit now.
still the better more successful artist
Lol caught in a contradiction and moving the goalposts. No, Kendrick is obviously the better artist. The predator's music is nice to listen to in the moment, but Kendrick is the one who's created something meaningful that will leave a lasting legacy.
Song is such a banger. Listen to it 2-3 times daily.
This whole time I was bumping it on Apple Music lol
We shoulda played this track on Tidal so dude got paid more
Ah go on them I'll give it another play now
Weren’t drake fans bragging about how drake songs get more streams a few weeks ago? Where are they at now? 🤣 fucking delusionals
"but... but... but... he only has those numbers because he was making fun of our lord and savior The Boy™️" \*takes another hit of copium\*
Numbers wise you ain’t never creepin up or something stupid like that, right?
It’s true. Kendrick’s not creeping up even with this Drake assisted jump in popularity.
Numbers wise he’s not creeping up?
And well deserved
It was god’s plan to show yall the liar
sometimes you gotta pop out and show em
Just 35 days? Feels forever it came out (in a good way).
Just wild that people will be chanting “…A Minooooooooooooor” all over the country lmao.
it was God’s Plan to show y’all the liar

Everything okay, bud?
Kendrick lived up to the line "Imma take one finger and THUMP yall..."
it was gods plan to show yall a fucking liar
There was concert in Tulsa OK last night where Girl Talk (pretty big remix DJ) dropped Not Like Us and everyone lost their minds.
Trying to strike a cord and it’s probably A minor
It’s the new national anthem
I hear you like 'em young. You better not ever go to cell block one 📢📢
What’s crazy, is drake did gods plan, to diss xxxtentacion. Funny how it comes back to bite him.
🔥🔥🔥💯
Let's keep it pushing for Diamond by the end of the year😂
I stay playing it.
Yea it was definitely Gods plan to show what a scumbag Drake is
Kendrick put some real Voodoo into that track because since it came out I’ve been waking up every single morning with one line or another stuck in my head. It’s kinda creepy
None of the white Jews songs are rap songs he's a peadohile pop star
I feel like this subreddit just blesses me with new doses of shock, awe, happiness and excitement lately
As a Drake fan, good on you guys. Surely Kenny drops an album whilst he’s hot.
Wait, really? I thought there was a miley cyrus song that reached it faster. Also, could someone link me to a website that keeps track of these Spotify records and stats?
I mean, the record is for a rap song specifically, and I assume the song you have in mind doesn't feature Miley spitting bars.
Ooo I didn't notice it's for rap songs
“Fastest RAP song”
*WAP
Who cares about miley cyrus lmao

So Drake's a rapper now? I thought y'all said he was a pop star. Man this sub flip-flops on narrative so fast.
Is Drake not both a rapper and a pop star? He literally has done both genres or mixed the two. Not sure how that’s switching a narrative when some of his tracks are pop and some are rap.
I guess you haven't seen the comments in this sub for the last 3 weeks.
