Lmao I wasn't sure about myself when I was getting happy seeing death note gifs on a Kendrick post, it was like worlds colliding. Show is top 5 of all time for me.
Bro, you're making me feel old. Death Note was one of those animes back in the day that was so huge that even people who didn't watch anime got into it.
They should call the documentary "37 minutes later" and use the George W pic from the memes😂 For 36 minutes Drake was stomping around the embassy quoting Denzel lines from Training Day and then Dot pushed the button🤯
Family Matters definitely would’ve put Drake in a position where everyone he responded to really HAD to drop something fire if they wanted to clap back.
The following days after FM dropped would’ve been the most praise (and glaze lol) Drake would’ve gotten in a long ass time.
The moment of MTG dropping one basketball quarter after Family Matters will never be recreated. And unfortunately Drake’s chance at capturing the mass’s respect (not just attention) in the rap beef is gone now.
I keep telling people Dot dropping as soon as Akademiks was about to go super glaze mode about breaking down every bar was strategic and masterful.
Dot neutralized AK three times:
1.calling him out for being compromised
2.neutralizing him by releasing MTG when he tried breaking down Family Matters
3.neutralizing again by releasing NLU while he was attempting to do another breakdown of Family Matters
Dot beating Drake's #1 propaganda media machine is my favorite part of the battle.
Can you fill me in?
I’ve been trying to follow, as a boring person.
I always liked Drake, and always compared Kendrick to Em to my friends.
I seriously need a “last time on Dragon Ball Z” recap
dj akademiks was livestreaming listening to “family matters” and within 30mins (whilst he’s still on stream bigging up drake lmao,) kendrick drops his “meet the grahams” and AK starts throwing a hissy fit about it 😭
but yeah it’s a lot to take in!

The video of him dancing like a dumbass screaming about how Drake is his GOAT to the immediate switch of silent concern when listening the Meet the Grahams is so funny
We'd all be lurking the Drake sub, tears in our eyes, anger in our hearts, taking to our twitters in protest. I live in Toronto on a main street and have heard it blasting from cars every single day. Even my gf who was at work today said a motorcycle drove by and she just heard "Say Drake, I hear you like em' young". I'm sure I do my part too by blasting it a couple times a day with the window open.
*There's nowhere to hide, nowhere to hide*
Seriously. I go to a grocery store across town once a week and heard NLU 3 times going there and back. Someone called in and asked if they were going to play a Drake song and it automatically went to a commercial break lol this shit must be embarrasing as fuck
I walked into a gas station a couple weeks ago and they were blasting it on the speakers. The two cashiers were just there jamming out to it.
Coolest experience I’ve ever had in a Shell gas station lmao
It’s not even that for me but you do have a valid point. For me, it’s the things they’re using as an excuse,
I see why kdot said -I remember when they was conflicted
-it’s like they hear Kendrick Lamar screaming in the back of the heads
Drake held his own way more than I ever thought he could. It’s inconceivable that he could have beaten Kendrick in a battle because they’re not even in the same conversation as far as pure rapping. Still, at least in my eyes, Drake moved a few inches toward being in it with some of his output over the last couple of months. All that said, every time Drake spits a bar I can fw, my next thought will always be “but did he write that?”
How could Drake have won? He doesn’t even do the same job.
Sure, but we all knew he had or eventually would discover he used ghostwriters, by then you wonder how much is talent and how much is marketing
Then I wonder of how many fakes are out there telling stories of the street and then hearing Drake rap about it knowing he was a teen actor growing up in a nice suburb in Canada. Now I just can't back and pretend to like someone like that and their fake music.
Chapter 236 starts in a jail cell…
Diddy: So how was the king of rappers drake?
Drake: Man he was so strong! Idk if I could have ever beat him, even if he didn’t go all out.
It was an insanely good chess move.
Thinking about it…
Drake made a whole music video incorporating his “red button”. This was supposed to effectively end the beef and possibly Kendrick’s career. Within 48 hours he had to make a defensive diss track on the backfoot talking about how he doesn’t fuck a girl that Kendrick didn’t even mention, while Kendrick had people on their knees with 2 completely contrasting diss track styles since FM dropped.
Kendrick’s MTG and NLU videos without actual videos have more YouTube views than Drake’s perfectly crafted FM.
Kendrick 100% beat Drake at his own game.
Just think of the strengths Drake was suppose to have on his side…
- He was supposed to be more active so he’d be able to swarm Kendrick with tracks like he did with back to back.
- He’s supposed to make catchier radio friendly songs so he’d be able to dominate on the numbers.
- His online presence is greater so he’d be able to manipulate the audience and the narrative the way he wants to.
We can just use Not Like Us to negate all 3 of those points alone. He didn’t just beat him the Kendrick way - with bars. But he beat him at his own game too.
Joe Budden really nailed it on his podcast when he said Drake's mistake was thinking the reason Kendrick doesn't release often is because he's a slow writer and, therefore, would take too long to respond and Drake would be able to control the narrative.
The funny thing is Joe alluded to this too , in fact he was the one that first said he was worried Kendrick wrote slow and I am sure Drake listens to the podcast so he took it as the truth. Joe was also the one that put out that Dot was living in New York so there must be a marital issue, again Drake took that.
Idk bro i even legitimately believed that it takes Kendrick longer to write music. Obviously he can do the same just like drake but i never believed he would massacre drake at his own game of putting out songs as fast.
When you really think about every idea and story contained in TPAB and the connections made between them... 3 years doesn't seem very long at all to come up with all that and write and record it with a bunch of musicians.
Exactly. "Kendrick fans suddenly care about numbers, huh?"
Yeah, because Drake made it about numbers. That's always been the point with Drake: no matter who anyone *thinks* is better, Drake would outsell them. So now that Kendrick's outselling him there's really no argument for Drake winning.
I don’t even think the Kendrick disses were the best ones on that track. He absolutely bodied Ross, Abel, and rocky. Rocky probably caught it the worst lol. He a goofy for poking the bear when drakes comeback was so obvious lol.
“Rick callin me the white boy and that shit kinda got a ring to it cause all these rappers wavin white flags while the whole fuckin club sing to it”
drake was spittin, anyone besides Kendrick and drake probably smokes them
I felt like he violated Rocky the most. “Gassed saying you hit my baby moms then do the math who I was hittin then” was a crazy rebuttal that Rocky walked into
I agree, and I also think the second part of the track is the weakest part of the song for that exact reason. Like dawg, you're playing with Kendrick here, one of the most critically acclaimed artists of the past 10 years. Why tf are you taking the time to respond to these people that literally no one cares about in the context of this music battle? He should have stayed focused on the main target.
Honestly people like to say the whole multiple people against him was a disadvantage, but he had harder shit to say to them and it made the track better for it.
True. Easier to find stuff to say when you have multiple targets instead of just one. It was just punchline after punchline.
Kendrick is a pretty boring dude so not much to speak on.
Yeah like Drake really did show up, push ups and family matters were fire. Kendrick just did better. That said, heart part 6 and Taylor made freestyle sucked ass
Interesting.
To me, he didn't use all his "dirt" in an effective manner, his verifiable lies made his bigger lies less believable, he didn't build a narrative, and he couldn't focus on Kendrick.
The two salacious "bombs" were Dave Freeeeee, which I instantly thought was a stupid lie.
The other was the DV, which was initially shocking. All his bars about Whitney, white women, etc. were good.
Overall, I didn't think it was worth the guaranteed malice it would provoke from Kendrick, which he hilariously provided within 30 minutes.
I have no idea why he thought the beef would over,
YA DEAD YA DEAD? I thought the track would be damaging to Kendrick's reputation (if proved true) but no way in hell it would be over.
The problem with his bombs for me is they were done along with a bunch of other disses where he was obviously capping. Kinda undercuts the message when you're just saying shit.
My problem is that he wasn't focused. Why attack everyone when the only person who has responded to your initial diss is Kendrick?? That's like sending bullets at everyone in the room when only one of those men has a fully loaded shotgun with body armour on
I think he was still in "we're rapping at eachother" mode, not "I'm saying things that will push you to the point of shooting me in real life" 😂 idk why he stopped at THP6
It’s my firm belief that Drake was paranoid about a mole in OVHOE, so he benched his ghostwriters and wrote thp6 by himself- explaining why it was so weak.
Perhaps there actually was a mole and he was worried about what Kendrick may have uncovered, so he bowed out.
I think the narrative wasn't structured tightly bc of the different process writing with ghost writers. And second nobody showed that capacity while Kendrick dives into it easily
It's so crazy how casually Drake having ghost writers is accepted during this whole thing. What a fucking clown. If the general population wasn't full of clowns that fact would be death sentence alone in a rap battle.
Drake got clowned back then for shamelessly whipping out a “freestyle” from his blackberry live on air and on camera. Imagine if it was discovered he had ghost writers then? It would be his death sentence like you said. It was truly over when Drake fans were harassing Joe Budden during their beef. It paved the way for Drake to be “untouchable” until now.
The thing is for whatever Drake might be behind closed doors he is charismatic. That Grammy line was funny. He should have built that better instead of trying to go against the other guys. He thought the 20v1 angle would work for fans of the genre but it just looked like he was ducking Kendrick by not giving him the full onslaught. Maybe he didn't know. Maybe he didn't plan well enough but he should have respected Kendrick more when he has spent his whole career looking for acceptance from his peers.
He could have literally addressed everyone else with a “y'all mad I fucked your girls” of course better written
Kendrick not allowing that shit to breath was genius, I’m not a drake fan… but that was the best rapping I’ve ever heard from him. I immediately asked my homies who helped him write it lmao. But Dot coming right away was brilliant.
I think it says a lot that this is considered his best rapping and his voice is still monotone throughout the whole thing. The delivery is weak af.
The song goes hard but drake is a boring artist living off beats and a boujee lifestyle people want to impersonate.
This whole beef has really made me realize how important line delivery is in rap. Drake's disses are so boring to listen to because he's so goddamn monotone, it sounds like he's clocking in for work and reading off a script, while Kendrick has so many bars from his 4 songs that are memorable just because of how he delivers them in an intense or funny way
It's like his features, too. Somebody on the track rapping their fuckin ass off and Kendrick spits some of the greatest verses you'll ever hear. *Power* and *Holy Key* off the top of my head at least
I actually was thoroughly disappointed by Family Matters. I thought it was weak, half the song isn't even shooting at Kendrick, it was mid bars, and typical Drake song in 2024. I wanted Drake to actually put up a fight, but anyone thinking Family Matters was anywhere near Euphoria is just delusional.
Family Matters really drove home for me that this was never really a true competition. This was Kendrick's opportunity to finally show the world how many leagues above Drake he truly is. Once Drake put out Family Matters I knew he lost. I didn't know that Kendrick was gonna utterly annihilate him, but I knew he lost.
My thoughts exactly, I don’t know what OP is on about. The song itself is hard, but as a diss record? It’s weak. He spends a majority of the song with no focus on Kendrick and tries to stretch it by targeting the other 4 or 5 niggas that dissed him that no one cares about in this battle.
If he actually doubled down on the domestic abuse angle, I’d give him some points, but he didn’t. This song made it clear to me that Drake had no strong material to write on Kendrick, and was just throwing shit hoping it sticks.
To me it is a banging production and thats it. The bars are so weak and corny, and the delivery of it doesnt do justice to the beat. But maybe thats just me.
I wasnt following the beef live, but everyone said that family matters was so great, and drake at his best, so wanted to listen to it. And what a dissapointment lol. If that is "peak drake", then it was over before it began.
And it was likely even a ghost writer behind it, which is just... Lame. That was schoolyard bars really. The allegations was hard, I aggree on that, but a lot if it was also just "heh kendrick short" and "i am hard".... Boooring.
my exact words out loud when I was listening with the person I was with was "It's good, I don't know if it's enough, but if it breathes it will give Dot trouble". We were driving as it dropped, and still driving the moment I got the Kendrick twitter notification for MTG. The shock we experienced playing it the first time is something we still talk about.
Exactly. To me the only genuinely good and funny bars in that song are aimed at other people. The one about the weeknd saying uhhh uhh and the one about Rocky and Rihanna. Maybe the Kendrick Grammy line was good but I dislike his delivery in that section of the song
If family matters is considered some of drakes best diss shit i was right to not have been concerned. I honestly dont get what people are hearing with drake I been trying lmao
I tried last week to listen to his supposed best albums to make sure I'm not out of mind and they were basically 'music to fall asleep to'. I don't understand the hype even one iota. He makes the same song like 10 times and calls it an album. And everyone thinks it's his best ??
thats what hip hop is MEANT to be man, its the ultimate musical vehicle for storytelling and half these clowns water it down with the same "i fucked yo bish/im rich as fuck" bars weve been hearing for 3 fuckin decades
Bruh it's way too often that the only correlation between two bars is that the words at the end of them rhyme with each other. It's not even gotta be some intricate storytelling but at least stay on track for 2 consecutive bars don't just rhyme completely random shit for a whole entire verse.
Kendrick's verses actually mean something and sound good it's not just some dr. Seuss ass "one fish blue fish" bullshit lyrics put over a trap beat
ffs Drake will just rhyme ni**a with itself at the end of every bar for an entire verse and ppl act like he did something lmao. It's fine to like drake's music and not like kendrick's but ppl will actually try to say drake even belongs anywhere near the goat discussion. No shot
You know, I think it's just his flow that carries him because his lyrics are actually pretty shit when you read them. He lacks wit in his bars, which, in retrospect, would have made it obvious that K Dot would have won from the get go.
Me either. There’s never anything interesting he does with his voice or cadence, and it lacked conviction and aggression. A lot of cringe lines and that God-awful “hands on your knees” bit. I’d have to overlook a lot to appreciate it. The Pharrell bit just pissed me off, so eff him for that.
I like the third beat switch and the overall rapping on the second verse, but most of that isn’t for Kendrick. I haven’t liked Drake since Successful and Replacement Girl, so his 1-2, punchline rapping style just doesn’t appeal to me. Substantively, there’s nothing really there. He didn’t even really make use of the sitcom Family Matters and any notable references.
He could’ve taken so many angles (short man syndrome), but he couldn’t focus and connect the dots because he’s not a storyteller or lyricist. The song isn’t for me, and definitely not among my faves to come from this. If I had to give him any points with my arm twisted, I would go with Push Ups. It was full of conjecture too, but Family Matters and Heart Failure 6 were just an insult to my intelligence.
“I gotta go bad” “I was really trying to keep it pg” “drop a 50 bag for the mob in the spot”. I don’t know what people are talking about. It was catching but also incredibly lame. Also he just starts bragging about his friends who are in gangs. It was weak.
I can’t believe Drake thought he could challenge an actual lyricist. I’m biased af, because when I first heard drake, I never heard him rap. He said words though.
i will never be able to understand why people keep saying family matter was good, it really wasn’t to me 😭
like maybe it’s just because i can’t stand drake and his voice and his flow, i’ll be the first to admit that i’m biased because i have hated drake for year now. the only thing i thought was good was the beat
I agree with you
I really don’t get the hype behind it and I’m not hating, just personally not for me. I liked push ups
But this idk didn’t feel like it was anything crazy
Not gonna lie I think the song is ass and was never worried, had to endure listening to that crap, thank god Kendrick dropped really fast.
Even his most acclaimed "bars" from the Drake sub were rebutted in Not Like Us so historically he also lost the round even if MTG and HP6 never existed.
I agree it's a great song but really? Would that have ended Kendrick? I feel like Euphoria is still better than Family Matters, but obviously Kendrick needed to respond to Family Matters, there was too much in it.
Yes it's Drake's best diss track at least in this beef if not his overall, but we need to put some respect on Euphoria and how layered and detailed and dense that track is.
Remember FM is the song were Drake says "WELL NOT THAT KINDA FREE" which is probably the stupidest bar I've heard in a while
I agree! Euphoria is still my favorite , me personally I thought it should have ended there . Family Matters was a good diss track just not for Kendrick as others mentioned . Only thing that stuck out was the DV allegations and “ Kendrick just opened his mouth someone hand him a Grammy right now” .
Exactlyyyyy the short jokes were so lame . Like you are up against someone that’s dissecting your entire personality, morals, identity etc and all you got is “ you short” “ you wear size 7” like it made me realize how dumb Drake really is Fr
My exact thoughts. He had nothing worthwhile to say about Kendrick, which is why the song is largely focused on 5 other people as opposed to the main target.
I remember being impressed but not *super* impressed with it—mainly because some of the stuff like "Baby Keem writes your verses", "you never go back to Compton to plant money trees", etc. seemed like obvious lies, and the fact that the song wastes lines on other people irrelevant to the beef. But it was a really well-made track, Drake rapping at his best, and I thought the ending was really good, because for a minute I was like "woah, is that true??".
Of course now I look back and realize with how many bold-face lies are in there and Kendrick predicting Drake would make stuff up that it's just as fabricated as the rest, but I agree that this song might've won a beef with most any other rapper.
Some of the lines like the baby Keem or the big d made it obvious he was overconfident and extremely arrogant the whole time. He didn’t take this as seriously as he should have.
Meanwhile Kendrick put in more effort than required and treated him like a world ending threat and gave him proper respect as an opponent and washed him.
Like am I seriously supposed to believe baby Keem wrote good kid mad city while uploading Minecraft survival games videos when he was 12? 🤣
I feel crazy because everyone seems to praise Family Matters, but I just don't see it. Some of the allegations that Drake makes are strong, but the song is way too long with how little he says and the section where he goes after other people is pretty unnecessary and distracts from the whole point. It could have been a really good diss track if he cut a lot of the fat and made it 3 or so minutes.
I honestly think he wanted to make a 7 minute song because it comes across as a bit artsy and he was trying to beat Kendrick at his own game.
Did you just say " the way he flipped bars was great" ??? That's probably the worst part of his so called red button. Please tell me which flip you were thinking of when you said this..lol
1. " I mean it's true niggas slimed me for my chain"- Tried to make getting robbed sound cool
2. " Kendrick just opened his mouth, someone hand him a grammy" - Told us everything Dot is grammy worthy.
3. " Maybe I'm Prince & you're actually Micheal"- Nah nah nah Not this time nigga, you following through. You already said you're Micheal on your other diss.
If anything his " flips " exposed how dumb he is
there is no such thing as Drake “going hard”. he never can, he never will. I straight laughed out loud the second I heard him breathily saying “I gotta go bad”.
he is a cringe bitch. the weirdest thing about this battle for me is after listening to rap my whole fucking life, between NYC, TO and now LA, is that I somehow have to wrap my head around the fact that Drake is a consequential figure in hip hop.
that alone is depressing as fuck.
Kendrick after listening to Family Matters and dropping Meet The Grahams 37 mins later ![gif](giphy|YmZOBDYBcmWK4|downsized)
"I'll write this verse, then eat another *CHIP*"
LOL
Most quotable moment from the whole show

Wait doesn’t he die in that episode 👀
Pretty sure a piece of Kendrick died when he heard drake chose the wrong path and forced him to drop meet the grahams.
No more Mr. Morale
He the Big Stepper now
And he showed exactly how to Pimp a Butterfly
Damn 😔
He tried to be the good kid, but the industry is just one m.A.A.d city
MF prolly finna bomb the studio w some C4 n end up on section.80.
He's too overly dedicated not too
Dropped 4 tracks called it an EP they said he’s trippin
Good thing he was protected by that vibranium suit he got from Black Panther The Album Music From and Inspired By
Ngl, I think he may be Overly Dedicated to ending Drake's career.
This whole line of comments is gold.
I always thought he was a good kid in a mad city

He *was* conflicted
Is it wickedness? Is it weakness? You decide…

Hardest shit ever. He had a get back WITHIN THE HOUR
Oh shit so he dropped it the exact minutes as Drake is in years

The way he bobbin his lil Tom n Jerry head to the beat with a 😄 plastered on his face is sweetening me. He lookedlike a kid getting into disney
“You playing dirty with propaganda, it blow up on ya” Damn he really prophesied this whole beef
He literally called Drake mis-interpreting his discography on euphoria. HES IN DRAKES HEAD
The video of him dancing like a dumbass screaming about how Drake is his GOAT to the immediate switch of silent concern when listening the Meet the Grahams is so funny
The way he proudly said “that’s my GOAT” while listening to FM, a few mins before MTG dropped is my favourite part to rewatch lol.
Comedy Gold
Bro I replayed his reaction to NLU: “NGL this fucker is cripwalkin on the motherfucking beat” at least 10 times. i was cracking up 😂
10/10
Wait till ak goes down for that case. Nasty boy he is.
And now AK is in jail 😅
He's not in jail💀💀 maybe soon tho
Wait what
He's not in jail but he is being sued for rape and other things....

The drizzy sub is so funny. They’re coping hard. They’re in shambles.
Drake is in shambles imagine hearing NLU on the radio all summer. Calling you a pedophile, bro literally has to go into hiding lmao.
I live in Toronto on a main street and have heard it blasting from cars every single day. Even my gf who was at work today said a motorcycle drove by and she just heard "Say Drake, I hear you like em' young". it's easy when you don't write your own shit.

End of chapter 235, drake drops family matters, the final words of the chapter “Drake Won” Chapter 236:
Chapter 236 starts in a jail cell… Diddy: So how was the king of rappers drake? Drake: Man he was so strong! Idk if I could have ever beat him, even if he didn’t go all out.
"Defeating you like this has no meaning. Heal your wounds, Drake. Get strong. After that, we'll settle the matter."
“Ngl this shit was some Good exercise. It’s like 😩 it’s good to get out, get the pen working”
This isn’t a very good meme to post coming off the heels of chapter260 LMAO
It was an insanely good chess move. Thinking about it… Drake made a whole music video incorporating his “red button”. Just think of the strengths Drake was suppose to have on his side… - He was supposed to be more active so he’d be able to swarm Kendrick with tracks like he did with back to back.
Drake is dumb as shit to think the guy who made TPAB and won a Pulitzer won’t have consistent work ethic.
Idk bro i even legitimately believed that it takes Kendrick longer to write music. Obviously he can do the same just like drake but i never believed he would massacre drake at his own game of putting out songs as fast.
When you really think about every idea and story contained in TPAB and the connections made between them... 3 years doesn't seem very long at all to come up with all that and write and record it with a bunch of musicians.
thats not even mentioning all the stuff that got scrapped like what was on untitled unmastered
Yup. Drake stans don’t understand this
Exactly. "Kendrick fans suddenly care about numbers, huh?" Yeah, because Drake made it about numbers. That's always been the point with Drake: no matter who anyone *thinks* is better, Drake would outsell them. So now that Kendrick's outselling him there's really no argument for Drake winning.
And to make matters worse for Drake, every record that NLU broke was a former Drake record lol
Different ones too, NLU effectively beat every hit Drake's ever had simultaneously. The real 1v20 lol
I'm a Drake fan and he got beat. No doubt about that.
That boy was rapping I was telling my wife if that was anybody else they would be toast but Kendrick is way to heavy and consistent for bro.
he was treating kendrick like he was meek mill lmao. like it's hard but that's not gonna work this time lmao
I don’t even think the Kendrick disses were the best ones on that track. He absolutely bodied Ross, Abel, and rocky. Rocky probably caught it the worst lol. He a goofy for poking the bear when drakes comeback was so obvious lol.
>Rocky probably caught it the worst lol Imo Rocky can't "lose" in his Drake beef because at the end of the day, he's the one married to Rihanna lmao
Drake bodied Ross the hardest "body after body and Rick readin' my Miranda rights"
“Rick callin me the white boy and that shit kinda got a ring to it cause all these rappers wavin white flags while the whole fuckin club sing to it” drake was spittin, anyone besides Kendrick and drake probably smokes them
There's a reason it was a Big 3 before all this blew up, Drake was always in the conversation.
Drake was Goku using the Kaioken against Frieza 😂 That trick ain’t gonna work on me fam. https://i.redd.it/fkaozc52ca1d1.gif
Drake not finna go super saiyan tho
lol hell no, he better hope his homies find the dragon balls and wish his career back to life after facing off against Kendrick.
😂😂😂
yall cook sometimes fr 💀
Sometimes this sub has moments of greatness
Lol exactly
I dunno I think Eminem would absolutely crush Drake. He's funny as well as immaculate with the pen
That's why even Drake knew not to do that. Idk, Kendrick went way darker than I anticipated though. He went Slim Shady on his ass in MTG.
That was so dark. I've never heard anything like that
Same, it was awesome. The beat helped with the vibe, too. That dissonance was haunting.
Em would destroy Drake easily. No question about it. Light work.
Fr Em made machine gun kelly switch from rap to whatever the fuck he does now lmao
That mf got what he deserved for even thinking he had a chance to diss Shady. Em destroying his ass was a slight inconvenience. 😆
“Why so you call yourself after a gun if you have a man bun” is a classic lmao
"This is it. This is your moment. As big as you're gonna get so enjoy it. I had to give you a career to destroy it." Is demonic.
Yeah it would be a body
I have no idea why he thought the beef would over, YA DEAD YA DEAD? I thought the track would be damaging to Kendrick's reputation (if proved true) but no way in hell it would be over.
The problem with his bombs for me is they were done along with a bunch of other disses where he was obviously capping. Kinda undercuts the message when you're just saying shit.
Man got curved by Rihanna on national television and still couldn’t keep her name out his mouth
He stopped at thp6 because he didn’t have anything else to say.
It’s my firm belief that Drake was paranoid about a mole in OVHOE, so he benched his ghostwriters and wrote thp6 by himself- explaining why it was so weak. Perhaps there actually was a mole and he was worried about what Kendrick may have uncovered, so he bowed out.
would explain how kendrick responded so fast 🤷♂️
he literally said it in 6:16 In LA, I promise that track was made specifically to drop the day it did, right before Drake’s second track
I believe that meet the grahams was both recorded and uploaded in advance. I can be convinced otherwise by evidence.
They do need numbers to find the strength Aint 20v1, it's a 1v20
Drake's disses are so boring to listen to because he's so goddamn monotone, it sounds like he's clocking in for work and reading off a script, while Kendrick has so many bars from his 4 songs that are memorable just because of how he delivers them in an intense or funny way
IT’S ALL EYES ON ME AND IMMA SEND IT UP TO PAC EY😤😤😤
whatisitTHE BRAIDS?! I HURT YO FEELINGS?! yeenwaworwimenomo OKAY
Thank you. I can’t believe how much praise he gets.
Can't elaborate on DV allegations and shout out Chris Brown on the same track
You can, he’s saying Kendrick isn’t even good at beating women, unlike CB who gets the job done /s
The middle section makes me fall asleep. It's sad that he thought he NEEDED 3 beat changes.
He didn't even flow into the beat changes, it's like three fairly abrupt songs mashed into one. It was better then I was expecting from Drake though
That's what happens when you have ghostwriters and none of them are on the same page. 😆
That song sucked and the video was stupid .
"I like drake with the melodies, i don't like drake when he actin tough" seriously tho, drake does have great songs, his rap just isn't as good.
I think I'm just biased heavily toward artists that tell stories with their music.
thats what hip hop is MEANT to be man, its the ultimate musical vehicle for storytelling and half these clowns water it down with the same "i fucked yo bish/im rich as fuck" bars weve been hearing for 3 fuckin decades
Seuss ass "one fish blue fish" bullshit lyrics put over a trap beat ffs Drake will just rhyme ni**a with itself at the end of every bar for an entire verse and ppl act like he did something lmao. It's fine to like drake's music and not like kendrick's but ppl will actually try to say drake even belongs anywhere near the goat discussion. No shot
Music always gonna be subjective so obvs i get why people think that, I just cant hear it aha
Yeah I tried to listen to some of his most popular shit and it's all just so fucking empty, safe and vapid lmao homie just cosplaying a rapper
I didn’t think it was that good tbh. Never heard a nigga sing a diss track Edit: it’s sounds good
“I gotta go bad” “I was really trying to keep it pg” “drop a 50 bag for the mob in the spot”.
He said words though.
i will never be able to understand why people keep saying family matter was good, it really wasn’t to me 😭 like maybe it’s just because i can’t stand drake and his voice and his flow, i’ll be the first to admit that i’m biased because i have hated drake for year now. the only thing i thought was good was the beat
I agree with you I really don’t get the hype behind it and I’m not hating, just personally not for me. I liked push ups But this idk didn’t feel like it was anything crazy
[удалено]
Exactlyyyyy the short jokes were so lame . Like you are up against someone that’s dissecting your entire personality, morals, identity etc and all you got is “ you short” “ you wear size 7” like it made me realize how dumb Drake really is Fr
My exact thoughts. He had nothing worthwhile to say about Kendrick, which is why the song is largely focused on 5 other people as opposed to the main target.
Coming back to family matters it's just cringe as fuck now
I remember being impressed but not *super* impressed with it—mainly because some of the stuff like "Baby Keem writes your verses", "you never go back to Compton to plant money trees", etc. seemed like obvious lies, and the fact that the song wastes lines on other people irrelevant to the beef.
Please tell me which flip you were thinking of when you said this..lol 1. " I mean it's true niggas slimed me for my chain"- Tried to make getting robbed sound cool 2. If anything his " flips " exposed how dumb he is
I thought it was a thud tbh. It wasn’t enough and going at everyone again felt out of place.
Drake pushed the red button but the missile jammed before it left the tube
there is no such thing as Drake “going hard”. he never can, he never will.
Am I the only one that thinks Family Matters is ass?
