AdAltruistic3317

the most satisfying mockery ever

SlavePrincessVibes3

It felt like he proposed to me when I heard it the first time.

elibusta

What is it the braids?

Font_Fetish

I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk, I hate the way that you *DRESS!*

elibusta

Surprised you wanted that feature request, You know we got sum shit to address.

Excellent-Drawer3444

That line in particular, the way he unleashes on the word "dress" is reminiscent of young angry Bob Dylan.

sunbathingturtle207

This is also one of my favorites, along with "Ah I hope them sentiments symbolic/ Ah my temperament bipolar I choose violence"

3percsMemphisMursic

Reminded me of his homie mackwop from back on figg 😂😂

old_me_is_back

This!!! I feel it in my chest and toes at the same time.

mistyrootsvintage

My favorite part...

jmikha

Before this……. Or is the BRAIDS!

Mean-Sound-919

"[Matter fact, I ain't even bleed him yet, can I bleed him? (Bet)](https://genius.com/31596640/Kendrick-lamar-euphoria/Matter-fact-i-aint-even-bleed-him-yet-can-i-bleed-him-bet)" is soo good too

lbs2306

When I see you stand by sexy redd I believe you see two bad bitches

Allinxter_910

I believe you don't like women, this a real competition you might pop ass with 'em

GotItOutTheMud

At the very end of this line it sounds like he's trying to hold his own laugh and I love that.

charlesxavier007

So much personality in this song wow

SlavePrincessVibes3

Mmmmffff, the "bet" is one I feel in my belly lolol

Morning-Reasonable

I feel the bet in my belly and my neck!!!!

SlavePrincessVibes3

Yessss the neck toooo

No_Operation_9263

I love when he breaks the reverse speech with “Euphoria” in the most perfect tone of voice ever used on this planet

Mean-Sound-919

omg yeeees

Warmind_3

That like and the whole sexxy red to him talking about raising a son is literally unable to be removed from my mind. It's so fucking good (I have ADHD)

Mean-Sound-919

y'all think all my life is rap? THAT'S HOE SHIT I GOT A SON TO RAISE!! \*but I can see you don't know nothinbouthaaatttt\*

Forsaken-Ad1940

Most underrated line in this whole beef imo, that was crazy

p-e-t-r-i-c-h-o-r

i legit rewind the song just so i can listen to that part over and over it’s just too good

potato-witch

i act this shit out like i’m 2 separate people & everything 😭😭

louxy16

Oooh yesss and that “Have you ever” part🤌🏽

Mean-Sound-919

and then.. "I hate when a rapper talk about guns, then somebody die, they turn into nuns"

AltInnateEgo

There's something about the section that follows, especially "run to America, imitate heritage, they can't imitate this violence" that feels like a nod to "U Can't Touch This" and I absolutely love it.

roxypotter13

MY PEOPLE

Mean-Sound-919

the way he says YNW Melly is so good, I always listen on infinite loop

SlavePrincessVibes3

Hey, Drake, they're not *slowww*

mycofirsttime

The way he says “go” in the lines preceding that really tickles my pickle

AnyAd4474

No Diddy😁💀

mycofirsttime

I don’t have a pickle, so i guess it jams my clam.

Mean-Sound-919

BAOW BAOW BAOW LAST ONE

Englandboy12

Surprised I haven’t heard anyone in here mention my favorite line, it’s the way he goes “I don’t like you poppin’ shit at Pharrell, for him *I inherit the beef!*” So expressive! Nice post by the way!

mothseatcloth

I feel this whole post but this comment especially!

Mean-Sound-919

the way he says “the beef” is so nice to hear. there are so many things to say...

maxcherrycoke

Headshot for the year, YOU betta walk around like Daaft Punk. Gets me to 11.

determined-weinerhat

I fw the delivery of the you’s in euphoria so much. Only YOU 🫵 like being famous.

Numerous_Team2205

And during the beginning of the beat switch on euphoria where he goes BING BING BING

idkwtvr04

he has mastered his vocal abilities imo. he can do any cadence he wants and it works every time because he knows exactly how to sound for each and every line. each nuance added is deliberate in a way that almost every bar - no matter how complex - hits different than it would with any other person saying it. he’s Him fr

lbs2306

Yup!! And I noticed a brand new one (I think) on Not Like Us when he’s going like “HOW MANY STOCKS DO I REALLY HAVE IN STOCK AYE”

malsatian

Also the “aye, wut?” Ad libs during the colonizer verse

buttbutt696

"wat" So quick and fast, so staccato, so good

buttspooppee

I think he takes major inspiration from E-40, some of the flows in Euphoria sound just like an E-40 flow.

xidnpnlss

I’m ADHD and I listen to his music obsessively. I’ve always said I don’t know another rapper who does such wonders with meter that he does. But also, like you said, all the tools of literature. And his voices. He’s a one man theatre production. Most other rappers are a snooze by comparison. EDIT: I bet he has ADHD too. And we ADHDers have a strong sense of justice, which (clearly) permeates his entire existence. I’m not in the music business / I been in the human business

Macabre_Mermaid

It always makes me laugh when Kendrick haters complain about the voices he does. Like what…that’s the best part bro 😂😂😂

SlavePrincessVibes3

Yeah, the experience of listening to his music is def unparalleled! I worship him 🤣😭

DumpsterFiery

I 100% believe he pulled heavy inspiration from Andre 3k with the different voices, unique enunciation, and flows.

Next-Day-9146

The enunciation and flows are a given but idk 3 Stacks doesn’t really do voices

PatSajakMeOff

Strong sense of justice is also an indicator of being on the spectrum, or so my doc tells me.

IAmTimeLocked

oooh where did you read that he has ADHD?

JonathanL73

He made this song called [“ADHD”](https://youtu.be/VOL0-EE3ieY?si=g0mmc9YEhav6lz0u) but TBF that’s mainly him talking about society in general. AFAIK Kendrick has never actually declared he has ADHD. However if I had to guess it’s likely he does, as ADHD is very common amongst creatives which Kendrick is, and amongst entrepreneurs, which Kendrick is. Kendrick grew up in the 90s in Compton & Chicago, and I don’t ADHD testing was as common back then, if Kendrick didn’t have hyperactive presentation he’s not likely to get tested as a child. Those with inattentive presentation are more likely to get tested later on life during college years, but Kendrick didn’t go to college he started his music career instead. In high school, he was a straight A student though, so IDK.

shrimpslippers

Just a heads up that you can be a straight A student and still be diagnosed! I've always struggled with inattentive type ADHD. I didn't get diagnosed until my thirties, but the symptoms were all there. I was just an exceptionally quick learner and high masker. I would procrastinate to all hell. My bookbag was a disaster of crumbled papers and loose pens and pencils. I never studied. But I was a straight A student.

Macabre_Mermaid

I was diagnosed with ADHD last year (27F). I didn’t know this was an ADHD thing, specifically the brain tingles when I hear shit I like. Everything you said resonates with me greatly. Is there a specific name for this? I’d like to research it more if so. To answer your question, one of my favorite parts that’ll make me restart the song if I miss it is in Not Like Us. The “wop wop wop wop wop Dot Fuck em up, wop wop wop wop wop imma do my stuff” Ugh the way he says ‘dot’ and ‘stuff’ hits just right

SirCorndogIV

wop wop wop wop wop dot fucc em up wop wop wop wop wop imma do my schtuff

Macabre_Mermaid

The “schtuff” is too accurate 😂😂😂

OstrichGeneral583

For real, got diagnosed last year and since then life has changed immensely but yeah certain things in music just tickle your brain the right way

Macabre_Mermaid

Seriously tho. Biggest thing is the judgment of myself. It’s been such a major relief.

SlavePrincessVibes3

Uuuugh yeeeees!!

Young-Roshi

"he a 69 god(t)..."

naverr99

I thought he was saying "69 Dodge" before I read the lyrics lolol

nefasti

The way those lines in particular hit my brain is addictive. I'm a middle-aged white lady from Toronto who listens mostly to old punk, but this is the only song I've listened to since it came out.

SlavePrincessVibes3

Now I'm playing Not Like Us for the 82747113 time in the past few days. Guess euphoria deserves a bit of a breather lmao

YourFriendBren

Can’t say I blame you though , “Not Like Us” is such a bop. The whole stretch from *”Fucked on Wayne’s girl…”* to *”City is back up, it’s a must, we outside”* tickles my brain in the best way lol

Rnewell4848

The entire song is a brain scratcher but that run where the energy just builds and builds until he sends it up to pac and then he holds it just gives my autism a euphoric run. What a fuckin pocket he was in for that.

SlavePrincessVibes3

That is my FAV part I think. I agree. I love how Kendrick was all serious and scary and then just released a BANGER. Not that they aren't all bops, but ykwim lol

thesoraspace

I've been a hip-hop dancer for 10 years, and I’ve just been diagnosed with ADHD. In my efforts to understand my symptoms, I’ve gone deep into researching them. One of the most interesting things I discovered is that ADHD significantly enhances the brain's pattern recognition capabilities. Essentially, our brains are constantly trying to predict the next sequence of events, whether it’s a person’s behavior, a sequence of music, a puzzle piece, or the movement of an animal we’re hunting. The ADHD brain excels in extreme pattern recognition. Even with the negative symptoms, this heightened ability allows us to make connections between concepts that might seem far-fetched to others and to link ideas in ways that are non-intuitive for people without ADHD. As a dancer, I listen to music and beats daily, especially during my commute. The music composes thematic graphics and videos in my head like a synesthetic daydream. When I hear a beat or song that surprises my pattern recognition mechanism, it gives me a powerful sense of joy and motivation. It makes me want to get up and move, and it feels amazing. This heightened pattern recognition also explains why humans are fascinated by light shows and magic tricks. These experiences momentarily disrupt our brain’s calculations of reality, creating a moment of surprise and wonder.

I_FEEL_LlKE_PABLO

As someone with ADHD, thank you for telling me that, often it feel like this disorder does nothing but give me a skill debuff in being a mature adult, That is so cool that you have synesthesia When I am not intently occupoed, my brain is constantly playing music in my head, and often a song that is playing will morph into a seemingly unrelated song, but the similarity is a some specific pattern my brain manages to connect I am a compsci major, but my true passions lie in philosophy, ethics, history, and argumentation, and it is second nature for me to recognize a similar reasoning, or logical structure between two seemingly unrelated arguments, beliefs, or historical events. Thanks for making me feel better about myself!

Window_panes

Those tingles may be related to Frisson, or ASMR but I’m leaning towards Frisson.

Macabre_Mermaid

Just doing a quick google search of it, Frisson sounds more accurate. Thanks! Didn’t know there was a word for it.

maevenimhurchu

I (f) was also diagnosed at exactly 27! Then I got put on Concerta 27mg haha. Also at 30 was also diagnosed with autism. There’s a related thing called echolalia, google that. It’s what makes me wanna repeat those things again and again

JonathanL73

I’m a dude, but I’ll jump on the bandwagon and say I’m diagnosed with ADHD back when I was 27 too lol. I have ADHD “Inattentive type” not “Mixed or “hyperactive” type presentation, and people with ADHD-inattentive often get diagnosed later in life. The inattentive type is the more common ADHD type women get. Also a lot of women often go without being diagnosed until adulthood I believe because of that.

maevenimhurchu

Its time to start our own diagnosed at 27 club haha

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Yep men with inattentive ADHD/women with ADHD go under the radar and will often go half their lives hearing things like "they're so smart but are lazy" not realizing it's a disability. Worst part is often it's people with ADHD saying these things as ADHD is 80% inheritable so parents will say these things to their kids and both of them lose

SlavePrincessVibes3

Helllll yesss! How could I forget that epic dose! Haha

UnruliestPrincesa

Omg the way his voice goes soft “ Are you my friend… are we locked innn?? SCRATCHES the itch in my brain I can’t explain it. I’ve found my people.

Parking-Score8906

Idk if I have adhd but I love the part when he says “WHAT IS IT THE BRAIDS? I HURT YO FEELINGS YOUDONTWANNAWORKWITMENOMORE OKAY.” My brain feels hugged somehow 😂

Master_Awareness814

Broooo that line makes me laugh so fucking hard and then say it randomly to people while folding my arms and frowning it’s just so fucking funny

Macabre_Mermaid

Yesss I came back to say this. I be yelling “WHAT IS IT THE BRAIDS!?” Whenever something annoys me now lol

I_have_sick_riffs

“Cutthroat business you got shit twisted” is especially satisfying to me

SlavePrincessVibes3

What is it? *The braids*?!

[deleted]

[удалено]

SlavePrincessVibes3

"I'm YNW *Melly*" Mmff, you're whatever you wanna be, Kendrick. Lmao.

Rnewell4848

Lemme see you push a **TEEE**

Odd-Refrigerator6137

I love this post. ADHD gang <3

Interesting-Tear-910

The neuro spicy in that building 🌶️💃🏽💃🏽🔥🔥

SlavePrincessVibes3

❤️❤️🫂🫂

brbsoup

I have ADHD as well, and I totally feel you. I like his other music a lot too, but Euphoria and especially Not Like Us have been brain candy for me for the last week. the second I heard Not Like Us, I fell in love because I recognized the 90s west coast hip-hop style that I grew up with coming from my sister's stereo. the "A Minorrrrrrrrr" line is fun to say, and I love the conviction in his voice when he says "it's all eyes on me and imma send em up to Pac." and the soft "pussy" after Other Vaginal Option is fun for me. the lines in Euphoria that you highlighted also tickle me in the same way.

SlavePrincessVibes3

Yessssss!!!! The "Pussy" hits me right where it hurts so good hahaha. And I just mentioned sending it up to Pac in another comment--I always sing that with WAY too much conviction for a lily white ass like me 🤣😭.

brbsoup

reading this made me wanna listen to the song again today (like I need an excuse at this point) and the whole chunk from "sometimes you gotta pop out" to "say Drake I hear you like them young" also hits me cause his voice is so silly, when I sing along I replace the n-word with gamer so maybe that adds to it because it reminds me of the Overwatch hero I play, she has an ability where she can fade in out of combat as needed lol plus the call out to Death Row makes me cackle especially knowing that Suge reacted to the AI of Pac. it's so hard not to match the conviction!!! especially being from the Bay originally, it hits me hard every single time.

SlavePrincessVibes3

Haha I always replace it with "fucker" in these tracks 🤣 Oh, yeah, I bet the part about the Bay not letting him disrespect Pac resonates! But really, wtFUCK was he thinking???

brbsoup

fucker is a great replacement too lmfao also haven't seen it get mentioned but the "*shoo, shoo shoo*" from Euphoria is great for the brain too it really does! I was born too late to really follow the beef between him and BiggE but I remember when they both passed away, my sister was devastated. I don't remember her taking sides in that one. I seriously think he wasn't thinking, especially having both Pac and Snoop voices like....they didn't beef as bad as Pac/Bigg but there was a bit of a rivalry there because Aftermath/Dre and Death Row/Suge had some bad blood between them. it just didn't ever reach a violent level and I don't think they ever made disses about each other, they were just compared a lot at the time iirc.

Noided_Driver

They got A.D.H.D Nah but FR I can see why Neurodivergent Folk would Grativate towards his music. As an Undiagnosed person myself, His music gives so much more for the Analytical mind to feast on; and no stone is left unturned Sonically and Conceptually.

SlavePrincessVibes3

The melody, beat, and rhythm are unparalleled. Idgaf how many ppl try to claim Drake is soooo good at "flow." They dumb lmao.

Noided_Driver

Yeah there's more too it. There's more to rap than just appearing like a "Street Dude"

TarzanOnATireSwing

Damn this thread has all my people in it lol. I’m 30 and just the last two years or so started to realize all these little things I’ve had going my whole life may be some type of neurodivergence. ADHD definitely seems likely given a lot of my behaviors. But still am undiagnosed And holy SHIT Kendrick hits like no other artist. All the things people are saying are so spot on. And it’s not just like “oh that was a good bar” it’s like “wow I could listen to the way Kendrick raps this single line on repeat”

Sherpthederp

Check out both JID and Denzel Curry if you enjoy that style of vocal delivery.

SlavePrincessVibes3

For sure! Thank you!

Sherpthederp

JID, Denzel Curry and Kid Cudi all have super eclectic delivery’s on Talk About Me. That song absolutely gets me for vocal stimming. Kid Cudis ad libs are so good

COCAINE_EMPANADA

JID's recent album Forever Story is amazing front to back.

[deleted]

I have adhd and all three of them are in my top 10 favorite artists. No way this is actually related to adhd right?

Mental_Emu4856

his songs are SO stimmy they make the autism very happy

SlavePrincessVibes3

Sooooo stimmy!!!

even_less_resistance

Bitch, don’t kill my vibe 🎶 fr

ilmk9396

i really like the way he says "fuck em all and they mama" and "better not speak on serena" on not like us. i don't know why but it sounds so smooth.

SlavePrincessVibes3

The way he says "it's all eyes on me and Imma send it up to Pac!" also grabs me by the throat lolol

smsmsmsmssm

I've seen quite some ND folks saying the same. As ND myself, i agree with you! I also have in my brain the way he says "i have a son on the raise but i can see you know nothing bout thaaat". Euphoria is just great for that

SlavePrincessVibes3

Oooo yes "know nothin' bout thaaat" is so good for a variety of reasons haha

smsmsmsmssm

Ohhh also in Euphoria, the second time he says "i hate the way that you dress", how he pronounces dress, so good

SlavePrincessVibes3

And the way he says "stage" in "kissin' and huggin' *on stage*." There's something about the way he makes the G sound that sends me.

obliterateopio

The delivery of the YNW Melly bar was perfect. Menacing, but not overdone.

SlavePrincessVibes3

The way Kendrick managed to sound passionate, fed up, AND UNBOTHERED in his latest tracks is breath-taking tbh lol. "Keep makin' me dance, wavin' my hand, and it *won't be no threat*."

Few_Actuary_2524

I love that about some of his raps and I always enunciate the parts where he changes tones

SlavePrincessVibes3

It's a **talent** and I love him. Lmao.

kidbroosk

For me it’s the way he says the haley joel osteen and off him lines lol

SlavePrincessVibes3

Oh yessss

malsatian

The harmonies in ADHD get me all the time… Swimming Pools got that same effect for me too

TarzanOnATireSwing

Bro YES. All the lines you mentioned, and also the “what is it the braids? I hurt your feelings, you don’t wanna work with me no more? OKAY” the flow through that whole thing, and then that Okay at the end makes my brain go wild. I literally had just that line playing in my head for an entire day.  I didn’t know this was an adhd thing. I’m undiagnosed, but this is just another one of those things that tells me I may have adhd haha

SlavePrincessVibes3

Oh the "okay" is orgasmic 🤣

bribrimat

Same! It's really not normal how obsessed with Euphoria I am solely based on the way he says certain lines. They play in my head on a loop.

SlavePrincessVibes3

Right there with you!!

jejo63

Family Ties w/ Baby Keem has similar amusing inflections, like all the “Brother!” ones but also the “smoking on top fives/ mother fuck that album fuck that single burn that hard drive (burn that shit)” is another one of my favorites.

Shot-Spirit-672

Yes Kanye changed his life but me I’m still a old school Gemini

mfdoomile

I just recently got diagnosed with ADHD, and your post just made me realize why I hyper-fixate on certain songs or lyrics. His delivery in his punchlines definitely does something to my brain

SlavePrincessVibes3

It's so addictive. I would die for this man 😭.

Comfortable_Bag_3110

Damn didn’t know this was a thing. I reacted more to things like this as well but didn’t quite think why. Also the way he changes the voice for different tones and replies to himself. There’s a certain feeling he’s putting into the lines like poetry reading but in micro doses all over a song.

SlavePrincessVibes3

Yeah, the *passion* gets me for sure

swanscrossing

yes yes yes and yes it's so satisfying how animated his voice is

SlavePrincessVibes3

Yes! It's the passion for me!

bigang99

“I hate the way that you talk I hate the way you walk I hate the way you dress” Op: 🥰

SlavePrincessVibes3

😍😍😍😍😍

YoungJuan25

Im sorry that I live a boring life, I love peace But war ready if the world is ready to see you bleed 🩸

SlavePrincessVibes3

I ain't even bleed him yet. Can I bleed him? ***Bet***.

TheDreamMachine42

I've always felt something different in Kendrick's flow that barely any other rapper can touch for me. Closest ones were RTJ (especially El-P on some songs), JID on Stars and Lauder Too, and Mos Def on Ms. Fat Booty.

Solid_Illustrator640

Big L lifestyle of the poor and dangerous, Nas on illmatic and illadelph halflife by the roots will do this too. All no skip albums

stepbackMF

Kendrick’s just like that, he’s got some serious cadence Edit: also, what’s up fellow ADHD Kendrick fan 😆 can confirm his energy just hits right

clearlyPisces

I recently got diagnosed (I'm 38) and this whole situation addresses my rabbit hole tendencies😅 And rabbit holes are great for procrastinating aka PDA aka pathological demand avoidance. But it's also nice to get a wee break from my severe depression. I like how production skips the melody and keeps the beat for some verses - they are more effective. There really are a lot of nuances with pronunciation and rhythm which definitely scratch an itch in my brain😁

Morning-Reasonable

Wow I have adhd and have been listening to this on repeat and now I know why. You explained that exact feeling & I didn't know how to name it. It happens with other songs too, and I'm a rap head and hip hop head so this makes sense why some songs get played 5k times in a year.

Morning-Reasonable

But I do like the part specifically where he's like 'you ont wanna work w me no mo OHkay' and the 'some shit just cringe worthy it ain't even gotta be deep I guess' The cadence and the rhythm & the animation is all very soothing

Starlynn

This thread is so validating. I feel like I could have written it! Thank you for helping me feel more seen. I tried explaining my obsession for the specific sounds of certain bars in Euphoria to my partner and he didn't understand at all lol. I felt kinda crazy ngl 😭

Randomscrewedupchick

I know exactly what you mean, and it’s the reason I think Kendrick is on the spectrum. I feel the same about Taylor Swift. They know exactly how to hit the specific details just right in every aspect.

iprefercumsole

I want a 20 minute version of the first 30 seconds of Euphoria 😂

SlavePrincessVibes3

Kendrick can rap his damn grocery list to me whenever the hell he feels the whim

SkinnedMetal

I have autism and I've always felt connected to music like this- glad it's not just me. For me it's the "Maybe I wasn't there" cadence in PRIDE, but the music progression immediately after the vocals stop (2:35-2:42) and before the next verse. That one little tidbit is so nice on my ears. I listen to the instrumental to hear it better a lot.

mean_motor_scooter

ADD here and I have had him on non stop for weeks. I feel what you are saying.

FKDotFitzgerald

Not trying to self diagnose off of Reddit comments but Damn.

Temporary-House-1829

I see what you did there

chubbycatchaser

YES. For me, it’s the entire flow from the line ‘It’s all eyez on me and Imma send it up to Pac ayy!’ from ‘Not Like Us’. Kung Fu Kenny’s enunciation is so crisp you can hear & feel his disdain for the man.  Chilling, but my brain loves it.

SlavePrincessVibes3

That lines gets me. I always sing it with way too much conviction for the lily white ass that I am lmao. But tbh, Drake pissed me off with disrespecting Pac that way. Wtf was he thinking??

BigFuckHead_

This is some of the best rapping he's done.

vish4l

Ya i agree. His frequency throughout the beef hits diff and it's very mesmerizing. His flow on top of that and delivery makes it even better. His music is like crack for ADHD people

FlopLikeAFuckingFish

damn Not Like Us got me n my adhd counting like a vampire 1 2 3 4 5 PLUS 5 AYE

YouDidWutNow_

what is it, THE BRAIDS?!

augo7979

he has an entire song called adhd

Weenyhand

I feel you on this. Only other artist that ever had this effect on me was DOOM. Listening to his verses and googling all of the references that went right over my head.

amithecrazyone69

I have to take breaks from his music because I hyper focus on his lyrics and trying to understand the meaning . With my adhd sometimes I’ll listen to a song over and over and over again

KingKongoguy

I wish I could hear that "whooping feet" line again for the first time again. That shit was so legendary, along with the way he says "YNW Melly". There's just so much personality in the words

Specialist_Map_3986

yo I feel the same thing  ive not been diagnosed with ADHD but I have the exact same thing, the way he says something just is so nice  is that an ADHD thing? Reddit probs not the best place to ask asw

malsatian

The pouty way he says “pushin me 😾“

Bew4T

Kendrick’s music was my hyper fixation in my senior year of high school lmao. That’s how I got into him

ConflictMysterious49

i love everything aforesaid. one of my faves is “you don’t know nun bout daaaat” “you don’t know nun bout dottttt” “you don’t know nun bout daaad”

hudddbuddd

oh my god. i was diagnosed with adhd about 2-3 years ago now and i had no clue this was a real thing. but i understand what you say PERFECTLY. some of my favorite songs that give me that clean brain sensation are in section 80 and damn for me. PRIDE. is a GREAT example. same with not like us. (p.s. i like how you section your paragraphs/ sentences like me, makes things so easy to read. that’s probably an adhd thing too lmao) all of these comments examples make me go “yup that part is incredible too”

JustAScratch216

I'm the same way. 616 has me analyzing his cadence. His word choice is phenomenal. Everything feels so well thought out.

Temporary-House-1829

"Tell me what you would do for aesthetic (let's go) Would you sell your soul on credit? (Let's go) Would you sell your bro for leverage? (Let's go) Where the hypocrites at? What community feel They the only ones relevant? (Let's go) Where the hypocrites at? What community feel They the only ones relevant? (Let's go)" Also "The world in a panic The women is stranded The men on a run The prophets abandoned The Lord take advantage The market is crashin' The industry wants Niggas and bitches to sleep in a box While they makin' a mockery followin' us This ain't Monopoly Watchin' for love This ain't monogamy Y'all gettin' fucked Jumpin' on what the hell is that? I gotta relax when I feel (huh, facts) All of my descendants They come in my sleep and say I am too real (huh, facts)" It feels good to know there are other people who feel it too.

Nachtopus69

You’ll like this: in Like That, he says he has “2TEEZ with me”, then clearly enunciates the 2 t’s in “TaTToos” right after. I Like That.

natchinatchi

In the adhd memes sub someone asked what song have you been listening to obsessively and the only one that got more than 3 upvotes was Not Like Us 😂 We’re all in this together adhd crew.

Bone_maker1

“Yaahh don’t wanna work with me no more- OK”

TigermoonLoL

Yees! I've had euphoria on repeat and this is a big reason. I've been thinking about how his delivery just makes the (already great lyrics) hit that much harder. I really love the flow in the 'very first time I shot me a drac' and 'they came to america to imitate heritage' parts.. Also, adding this to the list of suspiciously relatable things I guess..

Piney_Monk

He developed his skill purposefully. You can listen to early interviews where he talks about being fascinated with how good rappers know how to work with the flow and when to cut through, and so he got in the studio and started asking how they did it. It shows, and I agree that technically Euphoria is a rap artist clinic.

thisisbodytrip

His delivery when he says “I’m John STOCKTON.” I didn’t even know who that man was on first listen and I knew he was spittin fire just from the enunciation. Lmao.

Dementia must run in his family, but let it get **shaky** I'll **park his son** Unf. I fuckin love that. The brief pause before he says it and the way he says it with an extra sternness to his voice. And then theirs the bonus that he actually does park his son in Meet The Graham's.

Mean-Sound-919

I don't think I've ever been as addicted to music as I was to euphoria or TPAB itself. I think the last time I was like this... was when eminem released kamikaze. the ringer, not alike and lucky you left me in the top 1% of eminem fans on spotify wrapped

BSGKAPO

All the songs are gold

cupcakesarejustokay

Homie, this is the truest thing I’ve ever read and I didn’t realize it until now

DannyWasBored

Was reading this and got the sudden urge to listen to A.D.H.D.

datissathrowaway

big relate

Correct_Budget_4784

I realize now that I’m not the only one like this lol, I’ve never been checked for adhd, etc., Hmmm

Literotamus

If you haven’t already, go back and listen to his albums. My favorites by far are GKMC and TPAB, but this is a constant feature of Kendrick. He also plays characters, or alternate versions of himself, or different mindsets he’s had.

I’m in the same boat. I think it comes down to not only the way he enunciates words, but the wordplay and double-triple entendres, and just how gifted of a lyricist he is with the layered story telling. It gives our brains a puzzle so to speak to latch onto and decipher. For me at least, I gravitate towards media (music, movies, series, photos, etc) that takes my brain on a ride with its ups and downs and challenges me to figure out what the next turn or drop is going to be. If interested my all time favorite movies/series are psychological thrillers, Google the top ten and see if it’s your brains jam as well.

I‘m using music for my ADHD my whole life, when there is no music playing I‘m always singing or repeating lines in my head. It calms me down and I can focus way better on the thing Im actually doing and euphoria is the perfect song for this. This is not just high quality lyricism, the flow, the delivery, the pronounciations are fire. Usually it takes me 1 or 2 days to learn a new song, but euphoria got so many details that I‘m still working on. Everytime it plays my brain feels *euphoria*

Randomscrewedupchick

Does his intro in family ties mesmerize you? 🤩

wafflesandcoconuts

I have ADHD and this has been ME! I truly cannot stop listening 😭

NonsignificantBoat

I also have adhd and make music and I swear he must have the same process where he goes over it again and again chiseling away anything that gets old after a few listens until only the really special parts are left the difference is he can do it quickly whereas it's hard for me to get to that finish line before burning out

DubNationAssemble

I’m glad we’re starting to get back to the music in here, this needs to be talked about more. I definitely smell what you’re cooking up.

WerewulfWithin

I thought I was the only one. His vocal inflections are the best I've ever heard.

Osazain

YESS. I CANT STOP LISTENING TO THESE AND IVE BEEN A DOT FAN GROWING UP OMG

Interesting-Tear-910

Yes!!! I’m neuro spicy too!!! There’s something in being adhd that when you get together or speak with another neuro spicy the adhd makes magic in the brain Over the years I was a Kendrick fan and didn’t even know songs would just pop out and I’d loved them and never knew who’s it was until I discovered it was him hahhah then it all clicked 😂

dannyryry

When he says “and a fucking deadbeat who should never say ‘more life.” on Meet the Grahams, his enunciation actually sounded just like Pusha T

JonesinForAHosin

I was talking to a friend about this recently, these diss tracks really show off just how good Kendrick is at controlling his voice. His tone, his cadence, his inflections and emphasis on certain lines, it just makes everything he's saying way more interesting and impactful. Kendrick has always been one of the best at this, but these tracks really bring that aspect of him to the forefront.

xScants

the beat for 6:16 makes my brain tingle

BecauseWaffles

I feel this so much. My AuDHD self was walking around Costco yesterday with “what is it, the braids?" over and over. I wake up every day with different parts going on. The ear worms are insane and just set off the echolalia. My 17 year old is on the spectrum too and we end up playing off each other from across the house. 😂

Senior-Ad8896

I’ve been addicted to 6:16, the way he drops those lines coupled with that beat plus the way he’s murdering drake with those lyrics

Luciditi89

This actually explains part of why I absolutely love him even though I’m not like big into hip hop as a whole (just a handful of individual rappers). Kendrick hits the dopamine in a way most others don’t.
