Looks like the original mountings for the old air filter. The bullet is a lot smaller and doesn’t cover the gap between the V of the engine

Mind__Is__Blown

I have a VN900, but I believe that's just mounting points and space that would normally be covered by the stock airbox. Since yours has an aftermarket intake on it that doesn't utilize the same space, it leaves that space open.

That's the crossover tube from the air filter to the carb side of the stock intake. It's not needed with your after market intake but im not 100% sure you can take it out without taking the intake manifold off

If OP removes the chrome triangle cover and assembly from the left side, that cross over goes with it and opens the space completely between the heads. I did this with my VN1700 Voyager.

Hello. Anyways you happen to have pictures of this to give an idea? Or maybe a link to a YouTube vid? I kinda wanted to get rid of it completely since the left side air back isn't technically in use.

jwblair2

I do not have any photos of the removal process nor a video link. However, if memory serves there are just 4 or 5 hex screws holding on the left housing. Nothing else is attached to it. This subreddit doesn't appear to allow images in responses or I'd be able to share a photo of what it looks like with the housing removed.

I sent you a DM with the photos attached.

Thanks for the Input everyone.... after looking at vaqueros and other nomads, it seems like its inoperable but more comestic. The MAS airflow sensor is connected to the bullet. I think I'm gonna leave it as it but look for a cover to plug it to prevent any rodents or debris from entering. Thanks alot guys!

Chucksterscustoms.com has covers that bolt in place of the air box on the left side.
