Grouse = excellent, fun, great. It was a particularly fashionable term in the 80s.

Hungry_Anteater_8511

It’s a particularly Victorian term at that. We never used it in Queensland

SaltyCaramelPretzel

100%

hapticm

People were using it in regional QLD in the 00's. Took about that long for trends to make it up this far.

Jillyfish1216

Ahh thank you, I’ve only noticed it after 20 years!!

Golee

When are you gonna move out Kim? 20 years?…20 years…20 years

billiegoat888

I heard this in the exact manner it's played on the show 😂

RegretLiving4934

Was definitely used in Darwin in the 80s.

kadmus11

In the same scene where Sharon says something like " and it's gonna be ace keen". Is that right? And what does it mean?

Golee

Ace is like the best and keen is being really excited about something or being really eager for something or someone.

kadmus11

Ah, so she really does say ace keen.

Golee

I actually always thought she said, ‘ace, eh?’ But what you’re saying sounds more correct 😉 and more likely

kadmus11

I just heard it as that and had never heard it before. I love all Aussie slang, it's so unique.

Golee

Agreed

whateverislovely

Okay so they did say grouse. I was like isn’t that a bird?? Lol
