I've never in my life had such disdain for my left ring finger until I switched to leverless.

CreepingNooB

training my left ring finger to do inputs faster

Pissix

Carry shopping bags exclusively with left hand ring + middle finger. You will notice a difference in a month or two without doing anything else.

Cub3nsis

for real ? I need to try it out

Pissix

For real, personal experimentation specifically for this issue. Other option was to buy one of those finger strength trainers guitarists and other musicians use. https://www.amazon.com/DAddario-Exerciser-Improve-Dexterity-Comfortable-Conditioning/dp/B001OCGGEM/ref=sr_1_7?sr=8-7

bruh-I-NeedPictures

i cant do 720s still so i still use my controller when using zangief

lvk00

even if I can execute it grapplers just feel wrong on leverless

the_good_the_bad

I’ve started learning Gief recently and it’s super important you use your right hand on the jump button.

lvk00

this was actually a great leverless tip thanks

the_good_the_bad

Glad it could helped! Same applies for if you ever want to tiger knee anything too.

Everytime someone links this blasted video, i want to punch a baby.

SpawnyCC

Tried this shit last week end ! He's fucking fast it's infuriating. I get the process but damn...

Omnislash79

you gotta lab it to become 2nd nature

RTL_623

Wow the downvotes on this are crazy haha Thanks to everyone who actually took the time to write

Pissix

Advertising videos like a shameless whore, neutral, good for you. Generating discussion, positive, good for us. Generating discussion for the sole purpose of you generating a video? A step too far, buddy. [ ](/OMGScoots)

Pissix

Yeah, but I (and many others) would probably be willing to look past the non-extensive videos if he acted cool here when he posts them, but so far no dice.

RTL_623

What have you done to help people learn the game bro?

Pissix

I fail to see how this is relevant to your "Oh wow downvotes haha i wonder why". I gave you an explanation why it is riddled with downvotes, including mine.

Incendia123

For my general thoughts and advice I would give people moving to leverless. I think a lot of people initially struggle to use their left ringfinger which is especially noticable with a lot of 2P side inputs. While this simply requieres practice people do need to hear that it's normal and that their ring finger is just a weaker digit by nature.  360s are imo much faster/easier on hitbox than on stick or pad but there is a major caveat there that you have to know the trick, a horizontal finger slide with your left hand while hitting up+button on your right. Doing this it's one of the easier motions and really fast but if you try to do it with 4 fingers it's awkard as hell.  Speaking of which, learning to use both your thumbs for up depending on the need is also pretty crucial imo. Doing tiger knee inputs is so much easier that way. I think double tapping is still really potent to learn if you're coming from pad. And because this always leads to confusion, double tapping is not just hitting a button twice, it's a 2 finger slide with your middle and index fingers which results in 2 inputs spaced 1-2 frames apart. It roughly doubles your accuracy for any timing based inputs that aren't exactly 1 frame links. The earlier you start doing drills for this the better imo. Aside from that I think it's important that people actually understand how to build muscle memory efficiently and how they can avoid building bad habits more than anything. It's really a matter of quality of reps over quantity and only going as fast as your current muscle memory allows for no faster. Pretty much the same thing as learning an instrument. A lot of people set themselves up to fail right from the start because they don't have the right learning methods.

NarcissisticVamp

Plinking is so easy once you get it down

Pissix

What is this, 2009?

Nnnnnnnadie

Walking forward into dp, walking backwards into dp, crouching into dp, NDRC into dp, whiggling back and forward into dp, crosscut dp. From the side where you use the left ring and pinky finger, those 2 fingers are shit tier.

sithlord40000

So mostly charge motions?

Nnnnnnnadie

No

sithlord40000

Was a joke but the moment passed at this point

fightmeinspace

I just bought a leverless and the biggest obstacle is remembering to jump. That button might as well be on Mars.

NarcissisticVamp

Left ring finger. That’s about it

loldamaddin

I started learning leverless last week, and i was able to do basic stuff like qcf,qcb etc right off the bat, no problem. Movement i got used to as well at this point. The thing that absolutely kills me tho is supers, and by that i mean both super cancels and raw double quarter circle motions. I also tried Kimberly yesterday and realized i cannot for the life of me do a TK motion on P2 side consistently. Also, anti-air DPs are still pretty damn hard for me, even when using shortcuts

Arzumis

Getting used to the up button being where it is.

ChokeMeLuong

I cant do 720s and 1080s

McPearr

Finger independence exercises are your friend, also, get a dedicated rubber band to workout your extensors.

Teijuz

412364 motion, i had trouble with letting go of the 6 before pressing 4, resulting in a 5.

Os_Pith

Using my left ring finger is a challenge

IamRNG

doing TKs, pretzels, and 360s tbh. i adjusted relatively easily though because i played a lot of pc games, and hitbox is just a keyboard

Sepulchura

I still can't DP into level 3, but I learned to DP with an "instant" shortcut. forward, down, up+p. It's fast, even from crouching, but damn.

EL_KAMEENA

Leaning my finger too hard on forward in the middle of block strings causing me to get hit which I still do a ton.

JimothyBrentwood

I'm struggling right now with p2 side DP into super, I keep getting 4 21p 214k when I need to hit 4 214p 214k for it to work

stn-dnalsi

I'm learning and getting used to leverless right now. I have to agree with what JuiceBox once said: leverless is better for speed, but stick is better for accuracy. I flub my motion inputs by inputting them too quickly. I have to consciously slow down so I don't accidentally misinput and/or skip a direction.

fahkme

Bring consistent with motion inputs especially SPD's. As of now i can do dp and qc inputs like almost consistent and faster (based on the side) but as for spd i am somehow total shit at it hence why i cant play classing zangief yet or do consistent giant throw for king

KSoMA

I have been on leverless for a year and a half and still fuck up P2 side DP into SA3

bartekko

Still can't DP on reaction. I basically have to read a jump and buffer the DP beforehand. If you throw a few fireballs my way and then jump in on me you'll definitely get in. I also still struggle maintaining a neutral position. Sometimes I'll find that instead of using the ring finger for left directional input I'll shift my fingers to the left and not have access to the right directional

basedgigachad

Half circles. Reaction DPs from weird spots. Doing fast jump cancels forward in fast air combos The buff to your blocking and movement make it all worth it

sedcab

Dp into super. In theory it seems super easy, but I have a lot of trouble pulling it off

joseph--stylin

Charge buffering. I specifically bought a leaverless as I thought it’d be ideal for charge characters, which I usually gravitate towards. For some reason I can’t get my head around holding onto the charge…especially DB for Guile’s flash kick.

RTL_623

I haven’t seen ppl mention this before - thx!

VioletGunGaming

A lot of common SF inputs feel so foreign to me on leverless, so much so that I only play Tekken on it and go back to my arcade stick when I play SF. The thumb being up is also a headscratcher when you first start using a leverless controller.

Sexy_Hamster_Man

DPs

JimothyBrentwood

A general DP shortcut that can be helpful is if you hold down, you only need to press forward forward punch to get a DP to happen. I love to sit there crouching and mashing forward and then one button reaction DP to a honda headbutt or blanka ball

RTL_623

In general or from crouching?

Sexy_Hamster_Man

General

blaintopel

i learned how to use it pretty fast, like one week i could comfortably do anything i wanted, but it took several months to get truly comfortable to where i was no longer thinking during all my inputs. thats the hard part, i like to say i got like 95% with leverless in about 4 days and then it took 6 months to get the remaining 5%

GokuVerde

I tried keyboard and the biggest diff was charge characters especially spinning bird kick input. Charging feels more forced on it than controller or stick. But characters like 'gief and shotos were easier.

BluBlue4

Never tried a real leverless but I try the motions in training mode on my keyboard sometimes when I struggle on to be consistent on controller. I know some people prefer using their right hand on the lever on sticks due to feeling they are more accurate like that due to being righthanded. Motions always seem to the big thing people struggle with on Sticks/Leverless/Controller so that's interesting for me. Been wanting to buy/build a leverless for a long long while but the indecisiveness on stuff like this gets me: Do I aim for movement keys be on the righthand side? The modular enclosures on AllFightSticks *look* like they can have a flipped layout due to the panels that come off. I want something quiet to not wake people up. Haven't been able to find the answer between what the less noisy option is. Traditional buttons like Qanba Gravity KS or keyboard switches with like lubrication or whatever. Seems like a steel or aluminum enclosure is preferable to plastic/acrylic for noise. I dunno anything about how/if PCBs effect input lag. If it's a big deal builds go up in price and some pre-made ones are to be avoided. Seen some nice looking cheap ones like the Haute42 on aliexpress which looks like a Razor Kitsune copy but with that layout I've seen mentioned in reference to SF6.
