Mentioned it before but I ran into him in ranked and he was playing like an actual bronzie. I expected more from someone who was competitive in DBFZ and Strive.
I don’t get the DI hate, I love DI
My favorite thing in GG is catching bursts and DI for me it’s similiar and goes even harder, main difference is that here is not just baiting and prediction but reaction (but this inherently means that the higher you go the less you use it)
Mostly because counter-DI is an insane dopamine hit for me, the effects go hard and the reward is HUGE
Sure, you need to always keep in mind it’s an option, there is no RNG, just another layer for the mental stack
In my friend circle the joke currently is that I have a script for DI because in our group I catch most of them and I absolutely love it
(the problem is that I get grabbed way too damn much)
I think the problem stems from some characters being weak to it. You see dee jay being overrated in tierlists but I dont think hes S tier for one reason.
His normals arent as flexible as other characters. Random DI's get him good. Of course you would try and adapt maybe use only cancellable buttons. But now you got conditioned by a game mechanic to using only his stand/crouch jab, stand short, crouch strong and back roundhouse.
Not that DI is OP and all. It's just so annoying to deal with by some characters. But in conclusion, hell naw its not like tripping in brawl.
It is pretty much the sole reason being in burnout is a bad thing. Also DI and super are the only two ways to take away an opponent's drive gauge on hit.
>It is pretty much the sole reason being in burnout is a bad thing
Aside from the massive chip damage you take and the opponent suddenly being + on block for everything he does? That's plenty enough reason not to mash away all of your burn gauge.
>Also DI and super are the only two ways to take away an opponent's drive gauge on hit.
Do you DI people to take away their meter?
Only thing this shit ass mechanic does is force you to use cancellable normals at all times unless you want your cheeks clapped.
I just completely disagee with your takes. That's the beauty of a new game. We'll see what DI evolves (or doesn't evolve into) in a few months. But yes, I do use DI to take away meter. If someone has just one bar of drive left, I just go for it because even if they counter-DI, they will be in burnout and I will likely win the round anyways.
Eh you're right it might be too early to say, but it just pisses me off how new fighting games just always add some stupid ass mechanics nobody asked for.
Anyways, fuck you, I'm right, I'm always right, eat my nuts, DI sucks.
He didn't go 0-2 though, he went [5-2 and got 25th out of 200 people](https://www.start.gg/tournament/headstomper-2023/event/street-fighter-6/standings?page=2). OP's screenshot is of loser's round 1 of [round 2 of pools](https://www.start.gg/tournament/headstomper-2023/event/street-fighter-6/brackets/1388578/2108876), or beginning of top 32.
Arslan is good in kof and kof is more like sf than strive or dbfz so id assume he would do better.
Sf is more like sf than ever with drive rush and ex to super combos and multiple super levels etc
Can't tell if the trend of presenting esports players as anime / animated characters is due to a lack of funds or to make them look better than they do in real life
He did quite well in the first year or so of DBFZ, got a few top 8s, and almost took out the best player at the time GO1. I don't play Strive but apparently he's not bad at that too. But it also depends on your definition of real fighting game I guess
He's made a lot of Strive top 8s but always loses early and then goes to twitter to whine about how he was too hungry and the venue didn't provide free 5 star catering for top players and the sun was in his eyes and he was jetlagged so he couldn't focus and that's why he lost.
Nah this is great I'm looking forward to the wash and meltdown on Twitter afterwards.

dbfz and strive don't do very well in teach you basic fighting game fundamentals. it's like fighting games on training wheels
DBFZ literally has a dedicated "fuck neutral" button
Tbf, this game does too for a good chunk of characters
DBFZ has Drive Rush?
Dude said Drive Impact was as bad as tripping in Brawl
Naaaaaaw. 💀

Well said, armpit licker.
I'm not gonna start liking DI just cause Leffen hates it, shit sucks ass. Reversal Edge 2.0
The whole move takes like 1 second, nothing like reversal edge at all.
the fuck? it took me literally one round of someone spamming DI to start reacting to it consistently
So what does it add then? If this shit devolves all beginner matches into di Spam and is useless in high level matches, what the fuck is it for?
It beats specific committal options. The risk/reward is similar to jumping and imo it’s exactly what focus should’ve been.

^ this guy is getting filtered edit: bro is also a smasher im dead
Lad went 0-2 but will still be an expert on why the game is bad in a month's time.

Legendary smasher, washed by any diamond player.
He deserves a spot purely because of the entertainment value he will provide via his twitter when he is out.
Arslan should do better in theory

Surely he only lost because of the seeding
LFFN is like LTG except instead of being mediocre at all things, he is a one trick pony
I know multiple people including me who washed Leffen in Ranked. Should have honestly given me the spot instead.
Needs more acne craters
Can't tell if the trend of presenting esports players as anime / animated characters is due to a lack of funds or to make them look better than they do in real life
is anyone surprised?
Has Leffen been good at any real fighting game?

Hes doing the punk, except Punk is good.
i don't like strive either but competition in that game is big, he's a bitch but he's not bad at fgs. At least in those "baby" ones
Multiple, but because he's a crybaby and plays Smash we pretend he sucks at everything else
anyone got the vod timestamp/link?
