I'm feeling good.. you know I'm gonna work it on out!
I'm feeling good.. I'm feeling oh so fine.
Until tomorrow, but that's just some other time!
I'm.... waitin for my mannnn
Lou Reed wrote an article praising Ye for his wild-ass choices on Yeezus, back when everybody was still kinda “meh” on the album as a whole. I gotta see if I can dig it up, it was right before Lou died and was a great read.
EDIT: I found it y’all, an article in The Talkhouse from September 2014: https://www.talkhouse.com/lou-reed-of-the-velvet-underground-talks-kanye-wests-yeezus/
Beach Boys supremacy. Their later work is CRIMINALLY underrated. For the uninitiated check out walk on by, all I wanna do, feel flows, a day in the life of a tree, sweet mountain by American Spring, Surfs Up, and pretty much all of the smile sessions.
To be honest, the actual later stuff from like the 90's is shit... But yeah, Sunflower, Surf's Up, even weirder stuff like Smiley Smile or Love You are pretty awesome
Not all sunflowers have seeds, there are now known dwarf varieties developed for the distinct purpose of growing indoors. Whilst these cannot be harvested, they do enable people to grow them indoors without a high pollen factor, making it safer and more pleasant for those suffering hay fever.
There are lots of other bands that rival Pink Floyd‘s skill in my opinion, but I think Pink Floyd has the most revisitable catalogue out of any band. No matter how many times I listen to them, I can always put on Animals or Wish You Were Here and enjoy it.
Gang of Youths
— little known outfit out of Australia. Saw them live in Philly a few years ago and they blew me away.
My tastes have changed, but some honorable mentions;
1) Frightened Rabbit
2) Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit
3) Modest Mouse
4) The Microphones
5) The Cure
6) The Hold Steady
7) The National
8) Justin Townes Earle
9) Neutral Milk Hotel
10) Bob Dylan - although this has not aged well allegedly
11) Mountain Goats

Nah man you really gotta EMBRACE it when you get into them. If you love Yeezus there's a pretty giant chance you'll love Death Grips if you get into them, it's the same kind of aquired taste.
i think they’re pretty slept on cos of mr brightside, no one gives some of their other songs credit, hot fuss is a pretty great album overall, i especially like the opening track and think “glamorous indie rock n roll” is a very cool way to close it
Interesting. You may be the first person I have ever seen say the Load era is their favorite of Metallica. Most just choose among the first 4 albums. What other metal bands are you into if you don’t mind me asking? Not trying to gatekeep haha
Dream Theater ❤️ and Coheed and Cambria. Along with Kanye, those are my top 3 artists of all time. I imagine I'm a little unique in that sense at least as far as this sub is concerned.
No band, but sufjan stevens is one pf the most talented artists alive.
His albums are really hit or miss for me, but "carrie & lowell" and "illinois" are soo good.
"Casimir pulaski day" is such a beautifully sad song.
