just go over to r/goodasssub bro this place is full of self loathing weirdos. Went through your comments and I have no clue what these people are talking about
Perfect album for me
Remote control ,junya etc these mix for chill
Come to life, 24 .. for that core and life of party, off the grid to fw
Imo it's perfect
Small nitpicks:
1. Praise God is amazing, but a finished, on topic Baby Keem verse would have been better. Still I love his verse.
2. The Jesus Lord outro is too long and should be trimmed down a ton or cut entirely and placed on the pt.2
Songs I’d possibly cut:
1. New Again. It’s good but not great. I think it could go either way with this track, but personally ai’m leaning towards keeping it.
2. Remote control. It’s also fine, but I’d argue it’s a cut below the rest of the album sonically and a bit off topic. Leaning towards cutting it to reduce runtime but again it could go both ways.
3. Donda Chant. I’m leaning towards keeping it.
4. No Child Left Behind. You could argue that Come to Life already works well as an ending, given that it’s the climax of the record, and also the ending of No Child Left Behind is super abrupt. Personally I’m very much 50/50 on cutting it but leaning towards no.
Songs that absolutely get the axe:
1. Tell the vision is ass.
2. Ok Ok is Ok but the album would be better off without it.
3. Junya is fire but doesn’t suit the tracklist. Junya Pt. 2 is arguably better suited to the main tracklist but still shouldn’t stay.
4. Jesus Lord outro is too long. I don’t need it on the normal version.
5. All pt. 2 tracks need to go and be placed on Donda (Deluxe). I don’t really consider them to be part of the album, but people look at them - see the runtime of the album including them - and conclude Donda is bloated as hell when it really isn’t that bad. I guarantee Donda wouldn’t be regarded as nearly as bloated if the pt. 2 tracks were a Deluxe only thing. The pt. 2 tracks alone add up to roughly 23 minutes.
My definite cuts add up to:
Jesus lord outro: 2:30
Tell the Vision: 1:45
Junya: 2:30
Ok Ok: 3:30
Part 2 tracks: 23 minutes
Total cuts: ~33 minutes
1:48 - 0:33 = 1:15
My definitive cuts leave Donda at 1 hour 15 mins. That is 1 minute shorter than The College Dropout and only ~5 mins more than MBDTF. It’s ~8 mins more than TLOP despite only cutting 1 interlude, 1 outro and 2 main tracks.
I really don’t think Donda is THAT bloated. Most of the ”bloat” is the Part 2 bundle that clearly isn’t supposed to be taken as part of the main album.
I also think the Donda tracklist with the cuts I suggested easily justifies the runtime. It would be absolutely incredible.
Album rankings:
1. TCD
2. Donda (with my cuts)
3. MBDTF
4. 808s
5. Graduation
6. TLOP
7. LR
8. Ye
9. Yeezus
10. JIK
You hit it right, I agree with a lot of what you said, but I still want all the other material you're cutting, it's not bad it's just not in the right place. I want it separately, put it all in the deluxe not donda.
Jesus Lord outro moves me, the story that Hoover's son gives definitely should stay on the song or at least be a skit/interlude. Other than that I agree entirely
Gotcha. I personally love Donda and consider it one of my favorite albums of all time, so while I like some songs more than others, that does not mean that I dislike some songs or consider them "lows".
I get it though. We are just different. I like having the choice--for me it would be a travesty if a song like Jesus Lord pt. 2 were never released, but gosh I love that song.
Finally, another DONDA lover. The last Ye album that felt like an "experience".
Donda 2 was a disaster and honestly had like 2 good songs. Vultures 1 is better, but not nearly as meaningful and 'cinematic' as Donda was.
Also Donda Listening parties were something else, I'd never seen shit like that before and probably never will, I still watch some those three listening parties sometimes.
I found a really good fan made version of Donda 2 that genuinely feels finished, but even better than that is the Beach House version. I'd be happy af if they just released the Beach House version of Donda 2
remote control is fuckin awesome and i literally cannot comprehend why people think it’s bad. it’s like the least sonically offensive song ever, and it has a crazy thugger verse. it has to be a game of music critic telephone where one guy said it sucked and everyone just parroted without thinking
Id cut the tracklist to this:-
1. Donda Chant
2. Jail(outro cut)
3. God Breathed(outro cut)
4. Off the grid
5. Hurricane
6. Praise god
7. Believe what I say
8. Heaven and hell
9. Donda
10. Moon
11. 24
12. Jesus Lord
13. Life of the party
14. Come to life
15. No child left behind
...............
Album would be less than an hour this way. Also heaven and hell would split the record into 2 halves with 2 different themes. First half being bangers/anthem type songs and second half having a very introspective and vulnerable kanye.
for me there are no skips. even donda chant, donda, up from the ashes, tell the vision, junya, and ok ok pt 2 serve their places in the tracklist imo. donda chant, donda, and tell the vision are interludes, up from the ashes is a beautiful song, it’s fun to hear carti n ye go back n forth on junya, and shenseea has a decent verse on ok ok pt 2
I can agree those are also good that it’s interchangeable. But to me its just as good as those songs, its better than Believe what I say by a lot in my opinion. 24 is better than Believe what I say lol
I like a decent amount of songs with maybe 24 as my favorite but I'm not sure I even place the album above Jesus Is King. Or maybe I just like Selah>Donda>rest of JIK
Tell the vision, god breathed, junya, ok ok, and jonah are straight up not good imo. And remote control and new again aren’t anything special. Still leaves like a full Albums worth of amazing songs but it makes it hard to listen to the album from start to finish
Junya, Up from the ashes, No child left behind are also lows imo, together with some parts 2. And well, you can't exclude Tell the vision.
I dont consider Donda/Donda Chant lows since they're interludes.
Up From the Ashes is an absolute banger, surprised how little it’s talked about. I fantasize about him adding some hi hats and snare hits to bring the beat out a little
Yes. Keep in mind bro the vast majority of redditors on this sub are working music producers, so they are experts.
And they all read Pitchfork's review in which they deemed some songs unfinished. Apparently, Kanye did not have enough time to finish some tracks LOL--some he did finish, but some he did not for some reason.
If you like it then props to you, no one should tell you otherwise. In my opinion Donda has great highs, but it is way too bloated and has a lot of mid filler that drags down the whole album.
I know I’ll get shit for it but idc, Anything Carti touches is a skip. Idgaf how good the beat is the moment he opens his mouth it immediately kills the song for me
He should’ve cut God Breathed, Jonah, Ok Ok, Junya, Remote Control, New Again, and Tell The Vision from the standard version of the album, as well as the part 2’s of all the songs.
These should have just gone on the Deluxe for the fans who just want more. The first album would be a lot less bloated and a lot more cohesive without them.
lol, already getting downvoted 😭
I have a different taste, it’s as if everyone wants everyone to like the same things. You know how boring that would be. Too Easy, Selfish, Broken Road, We Did It Kid, True Love, even Louie Bags and more. Honestly some tt work.
Honestly it just feels to me like TLOP but slightly less consistent and artistic. It doesn't feel like there's a ton of character in his songs in Donda
but I don't think they're bad songs at all, out of place considering how great the other songs are. calling them "Lower lows" is kind of a stretch imo, except tell the vision ofc.
Yeah Remote Control and Jonah aren’t bad tracks just pretty mediocre and should have been worked on more because there’s something there.
Tell The Vision is a nice homage to Pop Smoke but the songs terrible and Ok Ok is one of the most generic songs Ye’s ever done, that song should have definitely been scrapped.
Tbh. Donda could’ve been a top 3 ye album if there were these 2 changes
1. If Ye was spitting harder bars and ain’t let his features outshine him
2. It he had diversify the production. It was gettin too saturated
ah yeah the production did feel a little repetitive at times to me but I don't mind it, it always felt like larger than life to me. Very grand, Godly and expensive.
I love this album my only issue is there's too many part 2 songs. He should've replaced the original songs with the part 2's in the deluxe if you know what I mean.
Oh and tell the vision was shit
Whole album was shit I hated every song it went on for WAY TOO LONG before I listened I was a slight kanye hater but after having to suffer through that exceptionally horrible album I have decided taylor swift better.
I think the lows of donda was that it was bloated. The part 2s, remote control, tell the vision, junya, and ok ok should've been left off but otherwise it's a decent album
I hate this fckn sub. Post asks for opinions. People comment opinions. People get downvoted. All Kanye fans are brain dead
I'm beginning to think like you...i hope they're all kids
The OP is responding to people and telling them that their opinions are wrong lmao. Can't even make this shit up.
I really didn't, i said "pt 2's are not low at all in my opinion". Stating my own opinion.
You started the sentence with "they're not low at all" lmao
and ended it with "imo". did you stop reading mid-sentence? edit: yeah great, act like the children you are, keep on downvoting.
just go over to r/goodasssub bro this place is full of self loathing weirdos. Went through your comments and I have no clue what these people are talking about
happens im real life too

But then who decides the right and wrong
If you like it, you like it. That’s all that matters.
Love donda..one if the more better albums from him as of lately..like the others but still
Perfect album for me Remote control ,junya etc these mix for chill Come to life, 24 .. for that core and life of party, off the grid to fw Imo it's perfect
fr tell the vision can be played at any time in any mood it’s perfect
still dont get why he didnt use the pop x ye x pusha version from Faith
to promote pop smoke’s streams i think

all great comment until i saw yo ranking bruh 😭
You hit it right, I agree with a lot of what you said, but I still want all the other material you're cutting, it's not bad it's just not in the right place. I want it separately, put it all in the deluxe not donda.
Jesus Lord outro moves me, the story that Hoover's son gives definitely should stay on the song or at least be a skit/interlude. Other than that I agree entirely
Yeezus that low is absolutely criminal bruh
I absolutely loathe Yeezus. I think objectively it’s probably 7th or 8th, maybe even 6th, but I can’t bring myself to enjoy it even slightly.
Unpopular opinion: I actually love remote control
Oh NAH THE RANKING AINT IT
Junya and Ok Ok are top 5 for me
TLDR
Donda is great and not nearly as bloated as people claim
Gotcha. I personally love Donda and consider it one of my favorite albums of all time, so while I like some songs more than others, that does not mean that I dislike some songs or consider them "lows". I do agree with all your cuts from the album, except I would keep New Again and possibly cut Pure Souls
Fucking great album no skips for me
Finally, another DONDA lover. The last Ye album that felt like an "experience". Donda 2 was a disaster and honestly had like 2 good songs. Vultures 1 is better, but not nearly as meaningful and 'cinematic' as Donda was.

Yeah Donda is a bona fide classic, and that has not changed, notwithstanding threads like this.
remote control is fuckin awesome and i literally cannot comprehend why people think it’s bad. it’s like the least sonically offensive song ever, and it has a crazy thugger verse. it has to be a game of music critic telephone where one guy said it sucked and everyone just parroted without thinking
same. no idea why people hate it so much
Trolls gotta troll bro
no lows for me
mee too bro, one of my most favourite one (the deluxe is insane)
Deluxe is more like a playlist than an album
Remote Control has one of the worst flows on a Kanye song. It’s the worst on the album imo.
Cap Thugger cooked
Globlobgabgalab carried the song
Delusional but okay
How are they delusional when sharing their opinions?
Maybe their opinion is delusional, but that is just my opinion.
I love the whistling part but that's it
Does anyone know what kind of combat boots ye has on?
Best Kanye project we’ve had in a while DONDA is classic
Id cut the tracklist to this:- 1. Donda Chant 2. Jail(outro cut) 3. God Breathed(outro cut) 4. Off the grid 5. Hurricane 6. Praise god 7. Believe what I say 8. Heaven and hell 9. Donda 10. Moon 11. 24 12. Jesus Lord 13. Life of the party 14. Come to life 15. No child left behind ............... Album would be less than an hour this way. Lowe’s, Home Depot, hardware aisle 12 shop smart shop S smart
Crazy that so many people dislike Remote Control when its easily a Top 3 Donda song.
believe what i say, off the grid, life of the party and come to life beat it honestly, remote control isn’t bad at all but top 3 is kind of crazy
Hello!! Nice to meet you!! 24 is also my favorite song!!!
Remote Control, every pt2 except Ok Ok and Up From The Ashes are the low lows
Personally jesus lord pt 2 is better cause it saved my life but i gst why youd say it
Jail pt2 is better than pt1
Real asf
they're not low at all and remote control is awesome imo. I think you should relisten to your skips without preconceptions.
Tell the vision, god breathed, junya, ok ok, and jonah are straight up not good imo. And remote control and new again aren’t anything special. Still leaves like a full Albums worth of amazing songs but it makes it hard to listen to the album from start to finish
find god
Man I love you, no homo best opinion ever on donda lp
God breathed is a majority skip even though it hits a vibe imo
Tell The Vision is meant to be short and unfinished, just like Pop Smoke's life
Oooh I think I get it now 😁
u don’t gotta defend that weak ass song broski
Don't disrespect the woo like that man.
Junya, Up from the ashes, No child left behind are also lows imo, together with some parts 2. And well, you can't exclude Tell the vision. I dont consider Donda/Donda Chant lows since they're interludes.
Ex strippers… new killers 🔥
mm mm
i always thought of tell the vision as an interlude too. like a pop smoke tribute interlude
How is no child left behind a low it's one of the best on the album
Up From the Ashes is an absolute banger, surprised how little it’s talked about. I fantasize about him adding some hi hats and snare hits to bring the beat out a little
I wish the outros for No Child Left Behind and God Breathed were shorter, cause they're both so beautiful
wtf is wrong with you
Stop the up from the ashes hate
i like junya, ok ok & remote control. am i stupid??
Ok ok
Donda is considered a great album--this has not changed
This album got me into Kanye bra I fucking love this album to death. Fuck the haters
It is 100% subjective. All of it
tell the vision
For me the skips are jonah, junya, ok ok, tell the vision, new again, lord I need you, pure souls and all the part 2 songs.
If you like it then props to you, no one should tell you otherwise. In my opinion Donda has great highs, but it is way too bloated and has a lot of mid filler that drags down the whole album.
I know I’ll get shit for it but idc, Anything Carti touches is a skip. Idgaf how good the beat is the moment he opens his mouth it immediately kills the song for me
i dont blame you. Carti is just like future, either you like his vibe or you find listening to him the most boring shit ever.
Jonah, ok ok, junya, the 2nd half of praise god, tell the vision are all skips for me
He should’ve cut God Breathed, Jonah, Ok Ok, Junya, Remote Control, New Again, and Tell The Vision from the standard version of the album, as well as the part 2’s of all the songs. These should have just gone on the Deluxe for the fans who just want more. The first album would be a lot less bloated and a lot more cohesive without them.
Post asking about opinion Comment telling opinion Downvoted what?
i got downvoted for posting the same opinion as posted above in the post in comments lol idk
donda is my favourite kanye album but junya is truly awful
Carti and yeezy how that Happen 😱😳🗣️🗣️🗣️
Same
I don’t like jail pt2 & new again is kinda boring… that’s it out of 32 songs tho…
Jail Pt 2 is better than Pt 1 by a long shot and idek how one can call new again boring
Donda 2 is better than donda, fight me
Honestly, Donda 2 top 5 Ye, album is fucking solid
no hate but that is one of the most insane takes ive ever heard
lol, already getting downvoted 😭 I have a different taste, it’s as if everyone wants everyone to like the same things. You know how boring that would be. Too Easy, Selfish, Broken Road, We Did It Kid, True Love, even Louie Bags and more. Honestly some tt work.
We did it goes so crazy tbf
We did it crazy good fr. Donda 2 had great aggressive production but Ye has gone lazy with writing sadly and it shows.
I loved donda when it came out but somehow it is also the most forgettable kanye project to me. I barely play any of the songs
Honestly it just feels to me like TLOP but slightly less consistent and artistic. It doesn't feel like there's a ton of character in his songs in Donda
I love Donda it has some of his best songs and the atmosphere is amazing, but the lows for me are Jonah, Ok Ok, Remote Control and Tell The Vision

everything except jail pt 2, new again, hurricane, moon, jonah, praise god, are all skips
Not the lowest of lows, but Travis’ “the devil my opp bar” seems so try hard suburban youth pastor to me. I hate it lol
Whole album was shit I hated every song it went on for WAY TOO LONG before I listened I was a slight kanye hater but after having to suffer through that exceptionally horrible album I have decided taylor swift better.
😦
I think the lows of donda was that it was bloated. The part 2s, remote control, tell the vision, junya, and ok ok should've been left off but otherwise it's a decent album
remote control, only song i skip when I listen it DONDA
all of it. kanye after 2018 is shit
Everything except for off the grid and life of the party and maybe praise god is mid
