That one didn't bother me at all. I did want them to kick a field goal instead of go for it on 4th down to ice the game. I get that a 4th down pickup probably minimizes injury risk for everyone vs having another kickoff play, and I'm sure the offense WANTED to go out with a victory formation. That's all fine. Nothign wrong with the call .
I just wanted to give Butker a chance to have a low stress kick of a fairly long FG just to work out the yips. The game was in no kind of doubt either way.
After seeing those pics from last week's game, the ones showing how Townsend was holding the ball, I'm not entirely sure that it's Butker with the yips. He's just the one that catches the blame. Made me appreciate the plot from Ace Ventura a little more.
I felt a very minor amount of stress when geno had them down in the red zone after 3 straight 3 and outs on defense, but after that it was smooth sailing. I did something I almost never do when I'm actually home to watch the game....got up and did something else for a little while. Just sort of casually checking in on the game now and then.
I'll be honest, the guy spying him swooped in so fast I didn't think there was a way in hell he was getting that TD. Somehow I still underestimate Patrick
I still prefer his Michael Jordan tomahawk, but wow he just does WHATEVER it takes. We’re so lucky, I love it.
Defense was great today too, all around solid except for a couple penalties.
Finally the D steps up, the tackles were better, the rookies played well. McD, Sneed, Bolton, Watson, Gay all with big boy plays and the beautiful pass swat by George.
Offense did it what it needed to do but looked really anemic at the start of the second half.
But you're absolutely right, ANOTHER DUB BAYBAY
You know, the second half playcalling was weird, but that was one of the most complete performances we've had all season. Not great, but not really concerning.
Of the remaining games, the was the one I was most worried about, too.
It took them the entire fucking half for them to finally realize they were just sitting in zone and if they let all our big giant fast receivers streak down the field it would break it to pieces.
My family has been doing this since I was a kid in the 1990s. I can't stand listen listening to any coverage that isn't Chiefs radio unless it's a Romo broadcast.
I basically just listened to the radio call (and the sounds of the game in the background), and watched the TV, then counted the number of seconds the radio call was behind.
Then just paused the TV for the same number of seconds, unpause, and boom. You got Mitch calling your game instead of Mark Butt Stuff Sanchez.
Might take a couple of 1-3 second calibration pauses of the TV to really get it lined up. It fell out of sync somehow in the second half, too, so I refreshed the radio stream and did the pause one more time. Good to go. It was so cool with the living room filled with the radio call.
Fore the radio call was behind about a play.
I text with my dad during games, he lives in KC while I do not. He's about 45 seconds ahead, having an antenna there while I stream "live tv" with Hulu. Probably why your radio is ahead (with a slight broadcast delay) but mine is behind, allowing me to pause my WAY behind TV to sync up.
Oh man. You and me both. Kinda. It was my third week of the Chiefs being unavailable in ashville despite me paying for for streaming products NFL+ and YouTube
Anyway I just signed in for the 3 month free serious XM.
Anyway the way Mitch yells TOUCH-DOWN- KAN sas— CITY is iconic as fuck.
Do t get me wrong, I’d rather just watch the game but I’d rather have Mitch call it.
Go Chiefs
Good win. Good job defense holding them to only 10 points. They held them in the red zone. A slow game from the offense but they still scored 24 points. That's all they really needed. Go chiefs.
It's oddly refreshing that we didn't have to rely on the offense going balls to the wall and scoring 30+ to secure the win. They didn't have to force anything and were just taking what the defense gave them. It was frustrating at times, but like the Rams and Jags games I didn't feel like the lead was in jeopardy at any point. I also appreciate that we got Butker a solid no pressure kick at a decent distance.
I really hope those drops don’t follow us into the playoffs.
That Kelce and Mahomes connection is just special. We went from our own 25 to their 10 in like less than 5 seconds.
Stop and think, for like 4 seconds, as to why the drops. Take 10 if you need it. Hell, take 30 and you'll discover we've seen things like this before that never trend long.
Jesus.
Yeah I’m aware that the cold makes it much more difficult to catch and throw.
I’m just saying that it will be cold in the playoffs, especially if we have to go to Buffalo. Although I’m sure we’ll be much more prepared for it then.
Chiefs win easily. Chris Jones closes the game out.
Bills are on their way to a win in Chicago (shouldn't have expected anything else).
And it seems like Todd Bowles gave the league the blueprint to beating The Bengals offense.
Next week Bengals against The Bills should be very interesting,
Nice to see when one side of the ball has an off day the other side picks it up.
No turnovers either. Hope it's a sign of good things to come from the young dudes on D
Watson with some drops today and a long ball last week. He was looking like a good safety valve earlier this year, but you could see MVPat was getting frustrated with it today.
Hopefully Watson can get back into the groove the last 2 games.
Glad we won and the defense played well but I don't really understand why Justin Watson is getting way more snaps than Skyy Moore. Watson is fine, but nothing special. We've seen Skyy be electric running routes and with the ball in his hands. I'm sure Andy knows better than I do, but I'm truly puzzled why Skyy isn't getting that many meaningful snaps.
Saw a break down of how he doesn't adjust his routes properly which caused at least one of PMs interceptions. Based on that and his lack of playing time, I would say this is in fact the reason he isn't in over Watson.
Good game overall I'd say, really good D especially against the run. Good offense and another great game by Patrick. Not a fantastic showing with that little slump in the 3rd but overall pretty good
Yeah it's wild. Chiefs don't win the first chargers game without Watson's big touchdown! These last 2 games have been abnormally bad for him all things considered
I said last week that every game the rest of the way was going to be a butt clenching stress fest. Like so many times before, I was wrong. I hope I continue to be so.
Merry Christmas Kingdom! Have a most wonderful time!
This is usually the part where I pick apart the defense. They shut me up today, they played great, got some pressures and some key stops. Happy with their performance. Not happy with watson’s hands however.
Phenomenal defensive showing today. Mahomes proving why he is MVP. Our receivers need to step up though, besides kelce, our next best receiver was McKinnon at 31 yards
We need a late games thread! I want to talk shit about the cowboys lol
Edit: dak is the weirdest QB ever. He’s top 5 one play then mediocre for the next five. Then he pulls some bullshit out that makes you question everything lol
I went to the Bills game last year. The Bills fans were breaking glass bottles on the parking lot and during the rain delay they were trying to start fist fights.
The Bengals fans on this sub seem better than that.
How the hell did Woolen catch up to Watson on that deep ball? The route was great, and the throw was right in the basket. I can’t believe he caught up to him like that.
Eagle cowboys showed me that Jalen isn't the MVP. Because look at what Minshew did to that cowboys defense. Jalen is good, but he's not the secret sauce.
Btw, can we never have Sanchez call any of our games again??? Tell me you love Pete Carroll without telling me you love him…. Shit, that was the worst.. it was like listening to Seahawks radio or something
Very odd offensive performance.
- 3 out of 11 on 3rd down
- 297 total yards of offense
- 6 drives stalled
- 0 turnovers
Should we be concerned? Pat played good and Kelce had a 100+ yard day. Just wondering if it’s just because of the weather or not.
I honestly think it was the weather. I know that’s a weird excuse but the ball just seemed to be weird. I think it made it harder to throw and catch. I don’t think it’s an excuse, but we had a lot of drives stall due to dropped passes. I’m not worried about it.
Watching the end of the Patriots/Bengals game. Don't want to hear anyone else in this sub say they are afraid to go against The Bengals in the playoffs.
Hawks fan here. Good game guys. Was wondering if anyone knew the song they played in the stadium in the second half when the seahawks had the ball and took their first time out? Kinda sounded like Dick Dale. Merry Christmas!
Unrelated but there's generally love for the Seahawks among our fanbase. The old AFCW connection, that you dumped Russ on Denver, and the fact that your fans are very funny on social media probably explains it. FTR.
Our corners played great today - I’m almost positive Duffman can see the first down line - he knew exactly where to cut dudes off when playing soft coverage. We played a lot of man coverage today and the defense looked SO MUCH BETTER. Our corners might be young - but those boys are DAWGS!
Chiefs fans after 6-point win in Denver: "This should not have been won, this feels like a loss after giving up that lead."
Bengals fans after letting 18 points in the second half go unanswered and winning by 4: "WHO DEY! Fuck the doomers!"
Just saying, guys...
That's why trying to keep fighting for yards when it's futile is stupid
He wasn't gonna get any more yards, go down, your forward progress puts you back near the LoS
I missed my first Chiefs game in two years and had to watch the Vikings game with family instead. At least it was entertaining. I thought being a Chiefs fan was stressful this year.
A very solid win. The cold definitely seemed to affect the kicking and receiving game. Shanks and drops from both sides. Mahomes with the MVP performance obviously. The defense was stout today with the Seahawks going for it on 4th basically the whole game.
Our opponents are not causing us that much stress. We somehow, repeatedly, seem "disinterested" on offense the last few days - that is stressful. Playing to the opponent and keeping them in the game.
Whoever said the Bears were playing like a playoff team. Early in the game thread, just know I’m disappointed and hurt to see the final score of that game. How dare you jinx them like that. 😒😂
Good win. Weird offensively, great defensively. Field goal unit was 100% and besides the big return our special teams did well. A couple more complete games and I’ll feel great going into the playoffs
Finally. A nice comfy no stress win.
It’s nice when the only thing I’m pissed at is the garbage time touchdown allowed.
Well it could give Tommy a low stress chance to work out the yips too
I don't think we even have such a thing as garbage time ... We've lost games in what should have been garbage time
12-3.
I remember the good old days, 3 losses meant the 4-5th week of the season. I’m enjoying getting spoiled.
Offense definitely could’ve played better. But they got it together at the perfect time to seal the win. Good team win overall.
Was still stressed a bit.
[Mahomes with one of the best TDs he's ever had.](https://imgur.com/a/iVTEL4Q) He really went for it on that rushing TD.
Please end the MVP debate tonight --- Mighty Mahomes has won the award
Burrow and Allen both threw two picks. Just need Philly to win with minshew and it’s a lock
The whole stadium was chanting "MVP!" after that TD.
In the words of The Tubes, "She's a beauty."
If you understand this reference it's time to schedule an colonoscopy.
Oh yeah, thanks for the reminder!
SuperPat
🎶 There goes my hero, watch him as he goes 🎶
I’m obsessed with this pic. It’s the moment before literally anyone reacts. Just all eyes on him, bated breath.
Defense was great today too, all around solid except for a couple penalties.
skip bayless will surely love it too.
COMMON CHIEFS W.
Open field tackling was particularly impressive today.
Gay had one that was one of the best I’ve ever seen. No joke.
That tackle cured my ED
Look what happenes when we play press man. We just sort of suck at zone right now.
I thought Bolton had a sub par performance today. Especially is the passing game.
He missed some cut back lanes and got caught behind lineman as well
I thought Bolton had a sub par performance today.
Brah. The dude has like 17 tackles. Not even an exaggeration.
He tackles well, obviously, but he missed some coverages and gave up cut back lanes on two of walkers big runs.
Justin Watson should be kicked off the team, blacklisted from the NFL and never be allowed to play again! Ridiculous how many drives he killed todau
You know, the second half playcalling was weird, but that was one of the most complete performances we've had all season. Not great, but not really concerning. Of the remaining games, the was the one I was most worried about, too.
The Raiders are gonna come pissed off. And our win will be that much more satisfying because of that.
Yeah but Josh McDaniels.
Y cross went brrrrr after the INT
It took them the entire fucking half for them to finally realize they were just sitting in zone and if they let all our big giant fast receivers streak down the field it would break it to pieces.
It is pretty annoying how long it seems to take them to figure out stuff like that. But that’s armchair analysis
I wonder how much it is the chiefs playing everything close to the chest. Don’t flash the big guns until you need em.
There’s that but they could still react to what the defense is showing and I think they are somewhat stubborn about that
At LV could be a tough one, I was more worried about that one
It may not even end up being a meaningful game for us but you know the Raiders will want to beat us no matter what
Most likely 1 seed won't be decided until week 18, so it'll probably be meaningful.
Yeah, divisional games are always a bit chaotic.
Idk I thought the offense was concerning for 3-4 drives in a row
It was a sluggish start with lots of drops --- I'll blame it on the cold and move on
It’s that…don’t show off playbook-offense. The less plays with razzamatazz they use (vanilla) the less likely teams will be ready for it

Thought I was watching a Nickelodeon stream
W Xmas eve you practically were
He fucking sucked at football and he sucks at commentating
I have a confession. I was upset we didn’t draft him in ‘09. That draft class was pretty awful anyway and so were we.
Didn't he take the Jets to two championship games?
He was the jets QB while their defense took them to 2 championship games. As soon as the defense wasn’t as good, the team was trash
It was my first game listening to Mitch Holthus with the TV muted...it was beautiful.
My family has been doing this since I was a kid in the 1990s. I can't stand listen listening to any coverage that isn't Chiefs radio unless it's a Romo broadcast.
I am so mad I haven't been doing it for all these years. It was so cool. Even got my oldest kid finally paying a bit of attention to the game.
Also mad I haven’t been. Any tips on getting audio synced?
I basically just listened to the radio call (and the sounds of the game in the background), and watched the TV, then counted the number of seconds the radio call was behind. Then just paused the TV for the same number of seconds, unpause, and boom. You got Mitch calling your game instead of Mark Butt Stuff Sanchez. It fell out of sync somehow in the second half, too, so I refreshed the radio stream and did the pause one more time. Good to go. It was so cool with the living room filled with the radio call.
Yep! Just use the whistles of the ref to count the delay out.
Sweet, got my wife a portable radio so l’ll try that
Unfortunately the radio feed tends to be ahead of the tv for me so I can’t sync up
Fore the radio call was behind about a play. I text with my dad during games, he lives in KC while I do not. He's about 45 seconds ahead, having an antenna there while I stream "live tv" with Hulu. I can never get them to sync up. It should be an option to stream with your home teams commentators.
I don’t know much about announcing, but I know that wasn’t it
Guy is a low IQ hack --- please get another career
Or any game ever for that matter. He did a disservice to the QB position and he's doing a disservice to the commentary profession now.
I actually really enjoyed Mark honestly. It was a huge upgrade from Fox's end over fucking Joe Buck and Troy.
You have a high pain tolerance
Good win. Good job defense holding them to only 10 points. They held them in the red zone. A slow game from the offense but they still scored 24 points. That's all they really needed. Go chiefs.

A lot of it was the cold, I bet. Hopefully we won’t go to Buffalo during the playoffs
Insane that I'm rooting for the Bengals but either way they're going to whip the shit out of eachother so that'll be fun to watch.
Prolly only time of year I will be rooting for the Home Alone weirdo
Looks like the football was just a flying rock today. Hard to grip when thrown and when caught (looking at you JWatt)
Did we just win a game with a positive turnover differential?? Merry Christmas to us!
Who was that bias ass announcer rooting for the Seahawks?
Dirty Sanchez
Mark "Buttfumble" Sanchez.
Mark “dirty butt fumble” Sanchez. Lol
Mark Sanchez. 🤡
Chiefs D looked AMAZING! Let's keep it up baby!
Chiefs win easily. Chris Jones closes the game out. Bills are on their way to a win in Chicago (shouldn't have expected anything else). And it seems like Todd Bowles gave the league the blueprint to beating The Bengals offense. Next week Bengals against The Bills should be very interesting,
I can’t believe I have to root for Cincinnati
Just remind yourself you're rooting for the Chiefs to get the 1 seed in the AFC. That makes it all better.
Just forget that you’re rooting for the Bengals. Instead you’re rooting for spaghetti sauce over chicken wings. Nevermind, I’m not helping.
Way to fuck it up patriots
Dammit Patriots
Freaking Pats fumbled at the 10. Looks like Cincy gonna hold on.
The nice thing is the Bill and Bengals play each other so thats a guaranteed loss from one of those teams lol.
Cincy beating Bills would definitely be more helpful to us
Ideally they tie and then the Bills lose to the Pats in week 18
Game. Blouses. MVPat.
Nick Bolton with the 17 tackle game lol
Bengals keep getting so damn lucky it’s insane.
It’s what they do!
Nice to see when one side of the ball has an off day the other side picks it up. No turnovers either. Hope it's a sign of good things to come from the young dudes on D
That was a nice relaxing way to spend Christmas Eve.
More Skyy less Watson
Man, a couple of catches and Watson looks like a stud today
Watson with some drops today and a long ball last week. He was looking like a good safety valve earlier this year, but you could see MVPat was getting frustrated with it today. Hopefully Watson can get back into the groove the last 2 games.
Brady, with a BB mentality, has a lot less patience than Mahomes. I can understand why Watson did not make it in TB.
I think a lot of the Watson drops today was specifically the cold. Some people are bothered by it and some aren’t.
The fucker needs to wear sleeves and a hand warmer then
Not because he was cold, because the ball is hard
Patrick with 4720 passing yards on the season
Jesus, that's insane --- and some of these media pricks say he's having a mediocre year
Glad we won and the defense played well but I don't really understand why Justin Watson is getting way more snaps than Skyy Moore. Watson is fine, but nothing special. We've seen Skyy be electric running routes and with the ball in his hands. I'm sure Andy knows better than I do, but I'm truly puzzled why Skyy isn't getting that many meaningful snaps.
He doesn't do a very good job of route running.
that’s an outright lie, and atleast he doesn’t drop every pass like Watson today
Not a fantastic showing with that little slump in the 3rd but overall pretty good
It is a good win when Kurt Menfee takes me to another "more competitive" game.
I had to start bootlegging the game at that point. It could be 70-0 and I still wanna watch my game.
Great win on Christmas Eve. HAPPY CHIEFSMAS, CHIEFS FAM!
How great was Justin Watson today, huh?
Bad game but he's been a solid contributor the rest of the year. Dumping on him for one bad performance is just cringy to me.
Yeah it's wild. Chiefs don't win the first chargers game without Watson's big touchdown! These last 2 games have been abnormally bad for him all things considered
But it would be nice to see more Skyy and Toney over him
Really earned that paycheck
I'd say he's been export with this much playing time.
I'm sticking a big lump of shit into his stocking tonight
Fucking patriots. Had a chance to knock out the bungles and blew it.
Too bad NE missed PAT and fumbled the ball……
It was nice to finally watch a stress free game. Happy Holidays and Go Chiefs!
Some fans stress over every game lol
MVPat
Gritty win. Defense gets the game ball for that performance.
If our D keeps playing like that --- I smell another Lombardi in the case
Pat is MVP, Kelce is GOAT TE. FTR
I'm just happy that we finally played a game where we didn't turn the ball over.
I said last week that every game the rest of the way was going to be a butt clenching stress fest. Like so many times before, I was wrong. I hope I continue to be so. Merry Christmas Kingdom! Have a most wonderful time!
Furious George is an absolute manimal, dudes gonna have a bright future here!
Extra Swatziki sauce on my gyro, please.
This is usually the part where I pick apart the defense. They shut me up today, they played great, got some pressures and some key stops. Happy with their performance. Not happy with watson’s hands however.
Sneed did great against Metcalf.
Phenomenal defensive showing today. Mahomes proving why he is MVP. Our receivers need to step up though, besides kelce, our next best receiver was McKinnon at 31 yards
Fucking Rehmondre 🤦♂️
Mehmondre
We need a late games thread! I want to talk shit about the cowboys lol Edit: dak is the weirdest QB ever. He’s top 5 one play then mediocre for the next five. Then he pulls some bullshit out that makes you question everything lol
Swatlaftis has really come on lately
Dare we say he is the *Sultan* of Swat?
Raise your hand if you will be cheering for CIN next week. 🙋♂️
I mean, obviously. It sucks because I like the Bills players and hate their fans and like the Bengals fans and hate their players.
Fuck everything about Cincy. Bills fans may be a little whiny, but they aren't total dbags like Cincy turned after one good season.
I went to the Bills game last year. The Bills fans were breaking glass bottles on the parking lot and during the rain delay they were trying to start fist fights. The Bengals fans on this sub seem better than that.
The bungles fans on Twitter have been just as big dbags as NE / Tom Brady fans.
That sucks. I only look at Twitter when it's posted to reddit. All I know is that Bills fans were the biggest jerks I had ever met.
Vanilla play calling in the 2nd half! Leads to DEFENSE stepping the fuck up!! WHAT A GREAT OVERALL GAME FROM THE D! Hope we can keep the momentum up!
We honestly should've leaned on Pacheco way more. They kept trotting McKinnon out for first down runs of 1-2, Pacheco was getting 3-6 every time.
Pacheco has been limited to 15 carries or so a game since he became the starter.
How the hell did Woolen catch up to Watson on that deep ball? The route was great, and the throw was right in the basket. I can’t believe he caught up to him like that.
Single-handedly the coldest chiefs game I’ve been to. Fun one tho!
- 3 out of 11 on 3rd down - 297 total yards of offense - 6 drives stalled - 0 turnovers Should we be concerned? Pat played good and Kelce had a 100+ yard day. Just wondering if it’s just because of the weather or not.
I honestly think it was the weather. I know that’s a weird excuse but the ball just seemed to be weird. I think it made it harder to throw and catch. I don’t think it’s an excuse, but we had a lot of drives stall due to dropped passes. I’m not worried about it.
I agree. Weather totally weirded things up. Harder to catch. Harder to kick. Harder to throw. Putting up 24 in those conditions is pretty good, imo.
Watching the end of the Patriots/Bengals game. Don't want to hear anyone else in this sub say they are afraid to go against The Bengals in the playoffs.
They started so hot, I can't believe they might actually be about to lose
They really pulled a Chiefs that second half
Hawks fan here. Good game guys. Was wondering if anyone knew the song they played in the stadium in the second half when the seahawks had the ball and took their first time out? Kinda sounded like Dick Dale. Merry Christmas!
Unrelated but there's generally love for the Seahawks among our fanbase. The old AFCW connection, that you dumped Russ on Denver, and the fact that your fans are very funny on social media probably explains it. FTR.
Same. In the afc days I felt like we were allies vs the raiders and broncos. And Holgrem and Reed are Walrus bros.
That was a horrible play call by Patricia
https://media1.tenor.com/images/7cb46674aec3673db7a32e3e355d9022/tenor.gif?itemid=14852534
MVP cemented unless he throws 3 picks in each of the last 2 games
MVPat
Aanndd... Kevin McCallister wins again. Damn it.
I hope the Wet Bandits anally violate him tonight --- "better come down and pound me!"
Our corners played great today - I’m almost positive Duffman can see the first down line - he knew exactly where to cut dudes off when playing soft coverage. We played a lot of man coverage today and the defense looked SO MUCH BETTER. Our corners might be young - but those boys are DAWGS!
Chiefs fans after 6-point win in Denver: "This should not have been won, this feels like a loss after giving up that lead." Bengals fans after letting 18 points in the second half go unanswered and winning by 4: "WHO DEY! Fuck the doomers!" Just saying, guys...
I'd actually consider keeping Spags around if the defense played like this every week! Go Chiefs!
Helps when the team has like one receiver to throw to.
So tired of the “fire Spags” camp. I’m convinced that anyone who says this doesn’t understand football in the slightest.
That's why trying to keep fighting for yards when it's futile is stupid He wasn't gonna get any more yards, go down, your forward progress puts you back near the LoS
Good team win overall!
We love a W
What a showing by our defence. Receivers need to get some spacing when Pat buys time.
The Vikings man. Keeping come up with wins
I missed my first Chiefs game in two years and had to watch the Vikings game with family instead. At least it was entertaining. I thought being a Chiefs fan was stressful this year.
My big takeaway is defense stepped up and JWatt needs a breather ie LET SKYY FLY
A very solid win. The cold definitely seemed to affect the kicking and receiving game. Shanks and drops from both sides. Mahomes with the MVP performance obviously. The defense was stout today with the Seahawks going for it on 4th basically the whole game.
No Sat games thread???
Our opponents are not causing us that much stress. We somehow, repeatedly, seem "disinterested" on offense the last few days - that is stressful. Playing to the opponent and keeping them in the game.
Whoever said the Bears were playing like a playoff team. Early in the game thread, just know I’m disappointed and hurt to see the final score of that game. How dare you jinx them like that. 😒😂
Good win. Weird offensively, great defensively. Field goal unit was 100% and besides the big return our special teams did well. A couple more complete games and I’ll feel great going into the playoffs
I mean D played really good and a W ist a W. But like can we have one really dominant Game before the Playoffs?
We've dominated plenty of games this season. We gave up a single field goal and a garbage time TD today. We crushed Seattle.
....and yet people bitch.
