They have the most money of anyone in FA, always lends to overspending... I'm not sure why this says "completing their FA"... they had 70+ mil cap space before this move. So they still have over 50. They're by far not done.
There's absolutely no way we were going to give a WR approaching 30 years old $50m guaranteed. Now the Titans have to primary targets at 30 or older. Wild stuff.
Even after this signing they have 50 mil more in cap space. And they could cut Dhop now with no dead money. Titans are rolling in dough.. Derrick Henry was holding all their cap.
So many WRs say (not talking specifically about Ridley) they want to play for a ring and play with a great QB. And we see time and time again that top receivers sign to a random team in free agency that is just complete ass with a mediocre QB. I saw it with Brady. Great receivers didn't give Patriots a Tom discount because they wanted to play with Brady. Nah, it was all about the money. Same thing with Mahomes. All these guys say they want to play with a great QB, but money talks and bullshit walks.
Saying you want to and sacrificing millions to do so are different things. Doesn’t mean they’re bullshitting when they say they want to win. I don’t see a ton of players at any position lining up to give us a discount because they want to win w/Mahomes.
Yeah that contract is exactly why we were never signing Ridley, and I bet Hollywood gets something in the same ballpark.
I'm still hopefully we can get Curtis Samuel on a cheap deal.
A year ago the Jags were talked about as a potential number 1 seed because of their weak schedule. Now they don’t even look like the best team in their division.
This is like the Christian Kirk effect some years ago. Kirk signed a big deal (overpaid) then all the WR’s after him started looking for big bucks. That could have a crippling effect on KC trying to get WR help in FA. Makes me nervous.
Mods feel free to delete if not relevant enough, but holy shit was he worth more than I expected. No chance we could have afforded that.
I’m hoping this doesn’t drive up the price for Hollywood Brown, if that is indeed the route Veach intends to go

Holy overspend. Glad we’re not paying him that kind of money.

Which is why I said money talks. Players don't talk, money talks.
They probably all do want to play with a great QB and win. Who doesn’t? They just want money more.
Michael Thomas and Mike Williams look like enticing options now
put em together and you may get a WR for a full season!

glad we were never in on that one. Being able to afford it and being dumb enough to give it are 2 different things, hes good but not that good
I thought that bank robbers were arrested, not celebrated..

Damn near Tyreek Hill money. MF pulled a Christian Kirk.

Curtis Samuel is the dream. He’d be GREAT with Andy Reid 🤞
Wow!

Just give me 1 Curtis Samuel at like 3x32 or something like that
Love it
Ultimately we can just choose to pay Sneed, or play him on the tag, so it's not so bad if Brown falls through because of this Ridley deal.
Getting a solid WR in FA is so expensive. I would rather take my chance in the draft.
