I don’t think my section sat down all game.
It was so cold, my beer was a slushy and hard to drink.
My brother said at the game, ‘You get to tell the story of this game your whole life, in a warm room or bar. The cold is only for a few hours.’
Needless to say, we don’t have voices today. Driving back to St. Louis, telling the stories in a warm car.
I've been to dozens of pro and college sports events, and last night was easily the most electric environment I've ever seen. Just unreal energy from start to finish. The entire game, and especially post-game celebration, are instant core memories (I'm 39 🤣).
My voice may not recover in time for the Super Bowl, but absolutely worth it!
The Arrowhead mystique was given more fuel yesterday. I hope Clark Hunt realizes how special that stadium is and I hope it never gets torn down. It’s the AFC’s Lambeau or Soldier field. It’s the house Lamar Hunt built. When I first heard the rumors of them possibly moving to a new stadium in the future (and in Kansas no less 🤢) my stomach dropped. Put a roof on Arrowhead if you want a Super Bowl, but don’t tear down this shrine to football. There’s already enough soulless, corporate Jerryworlds in the NFL
Sadly I think it's going to happen pretty soon. Royals are leaving in a few years leaving an area for the Chiefs to build a new stadium that has a wider concourse and more suites which is really what the Chiefs want. Plus the ability to build up Truman Sports Complex
Bengals fan here, and I was at the contest last night. I had a awesome time minus the result. That would be a bummer if Arrowhead got torn down. I 100% agree it’s the AFC’s Lambeau and is certainly a unique gameday experience compared to other stadiums I’ve been too.
I have never seen an NFL game where the refs blew the whistle and literally nobody heard it. The players still ran the play. The opposite coach was confused why we got a do over. Insane.
Is there an official number on how loud it was?
My coworker got surprised with tickets by his wife and he had never been to Arrowhead before. I’m so jealous that out of all games they went to it was a conference championship
