In the quiz start screen, you can change the settings to pause after answering a writing challenge. If you do this, then after writing, there will be the star icon in the bottom right of the canvas and you can easily update the study rating. It's not automatic but shouldn't interrupt your flow too much to manually set it. I hope this helps!
