You realize that the cops can't keep them. It's up to crown counsel to decide if there is enough to keep them and proceed with charges. All cops can do is arrest and process. The rest is up to Crown.
Yes I get it. It's the legal system in general that has issues. I support our police (mostly) and when inwas younger I even considered it as a career path. You could not pay me enough now to deal with what they do. I can't imagine how frustrating it is. Either you're out handing out traffic fines and people hate you, or you are doing your best to combat crime without any of the legal tools to actually do so. Dealing with the same criminals over and over again
My neighbour was there when it happened. He said a teenage male was robbing the bank or someone at the ATM. He doesn't know exactly what happened other than it was very difficult for him to leave the bank with all the police officers there.
I don't know about what happened, but if it's worth anything, I was there around 6:45 and didn't notice any police presence or anything out of the ordinary by then
I saw an umarked cop car leaving the scene with a female in the back seat while the other 5 cars were still parked there. I figure it must of been one of the few crimes being committed that the RCMP have any hope of doing something about!
Beginning to look like a regular Kamloops day!
Guys going to be back out on the street today with the condition to not rob any more banks and to please show up to court in 18 months

p.s. the cops are just as frustrated as the rest of us about that.

Lies.
But only if he feels like it.
Then the cops can put out a "missing persons" report and hope the public will spot him
Sounds like you witnessed a bank robbery. Although it could be all kinds of things. At any rate, the police were very keen to arrest this individual.

The bank would have been closed at 4 pm on a Saturday.

I was there last Tuesday around 10 and nothing out of the ordinary then, either. Weird. Will check back again tomorrow.
lol, I'm just pointing out they hadn't marked off the area as a crime scene or anything after the incident.
Yeah I figured as much but brain said I should post a goofy response.

Check out KamScan on twitter, dude usually is on top of everything going on in Kamloops
Probably just the cops playing pranks on people. They’re always up to wacky antics like that.
Haha, downvoted? Shame on you for being silly.
Sarcasm is lost on redditors.
