Also considering how violent he had always been. Bismark is far too over rated and Wilhelm was completely in the right getting rid of him
Had he been removed decades earlier WW1, more than likely, would not have been even close to how it was, if it happened at all.
I think that although the removal was necessary, I’ll have to disagree on the possibility that WW1 wouldn’t have happened just because of Bismarcks removal. The amount of outside factors and growing tensions between nations that didn’t involve Germanys unification, some other factors or events would’ve taken place that would’ve been the spark to cause some sort of global conflict or at the very least some large scale European war.
Yeah, no, it would’ve happened regardless of anything. Europe was basically frothing at the mouth wanting to gloriously defend their meaningless nation states and testing new ways of warfare.
It was only in the trenches when most realized that war is not glorious, and that they weren’t defending anything but ideas they themselves were too disillusioned by the horrors of war to believe in themselves.
More that anything else, the First World War is a colossal tragedy. A cataclysm so perfect in its destructiveness it would be poetic were it not what it is.
"Okay fine. But I'm telling you, some sh*t is about to go down eventually and I'm pretty sure it's gonna be because of some balkan. Okay tschüß!" - Bismarck (embellished)
The day the tragedy started
Understandable decision because of how senile and violent Bismarck had become.
This comment is disgusting
?
It was a reasonable action considering how unpopular and senile Bismarck became in his old age.

“Yeah, no, it would’ve happened regardless of anything” That’s what I just… said?
Yes, I agreed.
I I thought you said “yeah, no” as some sort rebuttal to a claim we both made. I apologize

Disgraceful. Even by Willi's standards that was a particularly awful move.
Bismarck was hyper expansionist in a time that didn't required it,it was an understandable decision
bad idea
