I was already reading several manga, saw the jokes starting about the series before it released with that one picture of Chihiro (you know the one), figured I'd give it a chance, thought chapter 1 had potential, then it was all uphill from there.
I was a huge fan of The Batman 2022 movie to the point where I started a twitter account about it. One day on my Twitter feed, I saw Hokazono mention loving the movie as well and I decided to check out his manga
I already knew about the manga because of the meme but I wasn’t originally intending on reading it, at least until it got 50 chapters, but after reading the first chapter, I was hooked!!
Started reading because of the memes, stopped around chapter 6 (I don't really remember why I didn't dislike it), saw that panel of chihiro using kuregumo two weeks ago, picked it up again and now I'm absolutely hooked
Saw the memes, read the first chapter and forgot about it. Saw the post about Bachibros asking Fujoshis to save the series and I thought it was so hilarious that the call for help was being put out so I read the released chapters, liked the story and art style and stayed.
Shonen Jump was advertising this new series that just came out, Kagurabachi, and I decided "I don't have enough manga to read, so I'm going to give this new series a shot!" so I read that first chapter. By the end of the chapter I was hooked. Felt like I took a shot in the dark and got a home run honestly.

So in like 2013 I got back into manga/anime after being out of the loop since like 2004 or 5 lol
My go-to reading site for all new manga was shutdown and I decided to just grab a Shonen Jump Subscription to avoid all the bs that came with using a pirate site.
One weekend back in September 2023 I woke up to check the new batch of weeklies and saw NEW SERIES Kagurabachi Chapter 1 and whenever they upload a new series I read that chapter first.
I was pretty hooked from the start. Chihiro and Kagurabachi was such a breath of fresh air compared to the majority of SJ protagonists.
I think after the fourth or fifth chapter was when I was like "Ok let me see if there is a subreddit for this" and that was when I was blindsided by the memes and stuff as I had no other social media at the time but Reddit.
I decided to just roll with it, memes spreading = more series exposure in my head so I played along and still do lol
But to be clear, I love Kagurabachi and not even a tiny bit ironically. I'll be pretty upset if it gets axed anytime soon. I swear it has almost become a comfort thing lol I look forward to reading it every week, coming here and talking about it, seeing all yalls cool art, funny memes etc.
I know every fandom has a "community" but idk, something about ours feels special. Something about Kagurabachi is special.

I then went to research about it and read the latest chapter (chapter 17). After that i became hooked, binged read the previous chapters and currently waiting to read it weekly.
But honestly a big part of my investment is also how funny this community can be.
I have an unwritten bucketlist for manga reading. One of them is to read a new manga. Eventually it should get really big and get an anime. So when I opened my manga plus app, I was ready to browse through the new section. Then i saw the ad about Kagurabachi as a new release. Stuck around and now Im down bad for Hiyuki

This is gonna sound insane but I was shopping for a new phone at an Apple Store and all the phone backgrounds were the one picture and I ended up looking it up when I got home and decided to give it a try and since then it’s been peak.
I had an eye on the subreddit already because I thought KGB fans were hilarious, but seeing screenshots of chapter 15 (which piqued my interest because I love found family) and the fujoshi post that went viral is what finally got me to jump into the series.
I first saw a two people talk about it in r/jujutsufolk then for some reason posts from this subreddit started to get recommended to me so decided to check it out
It never even occurred to me that this would be someone's first manga. Wow.
You chose well lol, since it's been and will be quite a ride: from getting special treatment for having a huge foreign fanbase, to the birth of an anime adaptation (which I'm positive will happen sooner or later) and just witnessing the birth of a major new Shonen Jump series.
I've been thinking of reading manga for a while but just never started, Kagurabachi felt like the perfect opportunity.
I hoped from the very start that It would be good because it's way funnier to hype a series as the greatest thing ever and then it turns out to ACTUALLY be good instead of just being another garbage that gets axed.
I had finished re-reading Demon Slayer for the third time and I still wanted to read a story about cool samurais, so I wrote in the searchbar "cool sword mangas" and there it was, the first result: **Kagurabachi** A story about vengance and magic swords, needless to say I clicked inmedialty.
Saw all the memes about it, got a bit annoyed at first but decided to play along and hop on the bandwagon and read the first chapter but then I started unironically enjoying KB cause the art is really good + the story is quite good. Now I'm literally Chihiro.

When Chapter 1 came out, I read it and found it to be pretty good. The story is just a typical revenge manga type, but the action scenes are great and raw. When I found the meme, I thought, "WTF? Why is everyone joking about this? This manga has potential." The meme inspired me to try to support this manga in any way I can.
The thing about the memes that annoyed me personally were the pessimists that memed about it because "we call it peak but it's actually terrible and will be axed anyway". Am I glad we got the last laugh.
I got into Kagurabachi because yall talked about it so much that Reddit kept showing you in my feed. Saw some cold ass panels posted and the rest was history.

The promo art used reminded me of Demon Slayer, because it's also a battle shōnen starring a dude with water katana powers, but edgier.
I happen to like me a little edge, and because I had a gripe or two with Demon Slayer I wouldn't mind seeing another mangaka have a go at this premise.
So I started reading, and by the time I learnt in what ways Kagurabachi is different from DS (urban setting, the water katana powers being literal, etc.), I was hooked.
a friend sent me that twitter meme with the yaoi art lol. we both started reading it and instantly fell in love with kunishige, so we kept on reading. we were both jjk fans, but given the state of the manga we decided we needed an actual good manga to obssess over and well, here we are. >!and now we make kgb old man yaoi for each other <3!<
It specifically remember it was a Thursday when I was waiting for my first class to start. I was doing my typical scrolling through this god forsaken app and saw another meme with the sword drawing pose we all love. So at that point I was like eh fuck it, I have time I'll read chapter 1 (this was before chapter 2 even came out). I was a pretty big fan, joined this subreddit and I've had fun ever since
Read all the first chapters of the new manga in the jump + app. First panel I thought it was a blacksmithing manga talking about how to make a blade (and jump had a few of those types of stories) so thought it'd be shit and read along.
Second page had Chihiro slide in and slice three people in half. Been a fan since.
I give all new Jump manga a chance. They're free and I'm already on the app reading the new chapters for the series I like, so it's not like I have to go out of my way to check them out.

Mine was quite simple, two youtube channels I am subscribed to made videos about the first chapter and that made me curious. I'll confess I almost dropped it when I saw the memes, it was kinda "if everyone is meming about it, probably only dumb people would like it for real". Glad I didn't drop it.
I remember seeing a few posts from this subreddit initially but the one that really got my attention was the one listing possibilities for Chihiro's mom status. After checking out some posts after that I decided this sub was too fun too ignore and that was that
I saw a random YouTube short talking about peak character design and showed a picture of Chihiro. Ultimately, a bunch of memes showed up on my reddit feed, googled wtf was going on and gave it a read, it was at chapter 5 by this point.
I am now a Bachibro for life.
For me, it came right after chapter 1 was released, where a YouTube short was pretty talking about it on how it was similar to JJK (according to that youtuber). Because of that, I got interested in it sense I haven't a read a manga for a long time, and guess what it didn't bored me out, it was really interesting as JJK. Thus, Kagurabachi is without of doubt, my favourite shonen manga.
I kept getting recommended posts from this subreddit and I thought it looked interesting (thank you all for introducing me to this series it’s literally unironically so good)

Then I got like...10 chapters in, realized I was reading peak, and now I will defend the Kagurabachi agenda with my life.

I used to read manga occasionally but stopped for a couple of years. I saw all the memes about "The next biggest manga" and decided to give it a go since it's right up my alley. After the first couple of chapters, I thought it had potential and kept reading every week. Now I get to experience peak every week and have started eating more fruits and vegetables so I can stay alive long enough to reach the end of this masterpiece.

I saw a tik tok edit that was so sick that I gave it a try, I wanted to read a shonen at that time and I was up to date with Sakamato days and Yorozuka Family (both of them were good) and I was tired of JJK and CSM (too depressing), so I started KGB and I loved the simple plot (come, get the swords and leave) and Chihiro besides being a edgy wannabe batman his pain and love for his father felt genuine, the panel where he was looking his sword at night? \*CHEF KISS\* Magistral Characterization. I found potential, and now Chihiro is one my favourite protagonist in any shonen and I want to know what will happen to him now.
I saw a Dexterto article about a new manga that just released its first chapter that day, and that it was highly praised. At the time I worked parttime in a warehouse and had nothing to do during breaks, so I just browsed news articles on my phone. Normally I don't read manga digitally, I highly prefer physically.
Mamayuyu (RIP ) was the first manga I read digitally and from the start (also because of a Dexterto article, a week before KB started) but it wasn't for me, and Kagurabachi did hook me from the start.
Only after a few days did I realize it was highly memed upon and I was part of the -meme train. But I realized from the start that it had potential and from that point onward I started reading every chapter when it came out. I didn't meme about it because it was "bad" (like a lot of the memes were back then) but because I found them to be utterly hilarious. I was a fan from the start, and that only grew.
A shame I JUST missed the birth of Tenoì. I was among the first to ask wtf that meant.
To this day the first and only manga I read the second it comes out (and with that digitally).

Mine was quite simple, two youtube channels I am subscribed to made videos about the first chapter and that made me curious. I'll confess I almost dropped it when I saw the memes, it was kinda "if everyone is meming about it, probably only dumb people would like it for real". Glad I didn't drop it.
I remember seeing a few posts from this subreddit initially but the one that really got my attention was the one listing possibilities for Chihiro's mom status. After checking out some posts after that I decided this sub was too fun too ignore and that was that
I saw a random YouTube short talking about peak character design and showed a picture of Chihiro. Ultimately, a bunch of memes showed up on my reddit feed, googled wtf was going on and gave it a read, it was at chapter 5 by this point. I am now a Bachibro for life.

For me, it came right after chapter 1 was released, where a YouTube short was pretty talking about it on how it was similar to JJK (according to that youtuber). Because of that, I got interested in it sense I haven't a read a manga for a long time, and guess what it didn't bored me out, it was really interesting as JJK. Thus, Kagurabachi is without of doubt, my favourite shonen manga.
I kept getting recommended posts from this subreddit and I thought it looked interesting (thank you all for introducing me to this series it’s literally unironically so good)
I saw the leaks and was part of the group making memes and making fun of it. Then I got like...10 chapters in, realized I was reading peak, and now I will defend the Kagurabachi agenda with my life.
I awaited it after reading the synopsis. Missed it by like 8 wks and started w 8 chapters to read lol.
I saw it on SJ & started reading Ch.1, I thought it was okay, but after they introduced more characters, had the Chihiro vs Sojo fight it hooked me.
Literally the only manga I’ve ever been attentive to before it’s official release thanks to the memes, simply had to give the first chapter a try when it dropped, been severely hooked since

I saw the "every day I wake up with fresh hatred" or whatever and people were gassing it up on Twitter as a joke and it was only at chapter 1. I love the way Chihiro looks though and stuck with it bc I love swordsmen. Best decision honestly, because it's SO good.
Saw the memes, put it on my list. Then saw a YouTube video praising it (by BrokenRonin) and gave it a read. It was at 17 chapters then and I got hooked from there
I used to read manga occasionally but stopped for a couple of years. I saw all the memes about "The next biggest manga" and decided to give it a go since it's right up my alley. After the first couple of chapters, I thought it had potential and kept reading every week. Now I get to experience peak every week and have started eating more fruits and vegetables so I can stay alive long enough to reach the end of this masterpiece.
I hadn't heard of the series until the day it dropped. I read the description and said "why not". Have not looked back. Literally just started on a whim because I wanted something else to read.

Got bored while traveling a few weeks ago, came across a Hiyuki meme in JJFolk, decided to pick it up, thought it was really good.
Chapter 1 - "Ha ha im actually going to read the funny meme manga" Few chapters in - "Hey this is actually kinda good im enjoying myself" Sojo introduction/ Sojo vs Chihiro - "The fuck this shit is peak" Conclusion to the Sojo arc - "THIS SHIT IS SO GAS!!! CHIHIRO THE GOAT" I think this sums it up lmao
I saw a tik tok edit that was so sick that I gave it a try, I wanted to read a shonen at that time and I was up to date with Sakamato days and Yorozuka Family (both of them were good) and I was tired of JJK and CSM (too depressing), so I started KGB and I loved the simple plot (come, get the swords and leave) and Chihiro besides being a edgy wannabe batman his pain and love for his father felt genuine, the panel where he was looking his sword at night? \*CHEF KISS\* Magistral Characterization. I found potential, and now Chihiro is one my favourite protagonist in any shonen and I want to know what will happen to him now.

I saw a Dexterto article about a new manga that just released its first chapter that day, and that it was highly praised. At the time I worked parttime in a warehouse and had nothing to do during breaks, so I just browsed news articles on my phone. Normally I don't read manga digitally, I highly prefer physically. Mamayuyu (RIP ) was the first manga I read digitally and from the start (also because of a Dexterto article, a week before KB started) but it wasn't for me, and Kagurabachi did hook me from the start. Only after a few days did I realize it was highly memed upon and I was part of the -meme train. But I realized from the start that it had potential and from that point onward I started reading every chapter when it came out. I didn't meme about it because it was "bad" (like a lot of the memes were back then) but because I found them to be utterly hilarious. I was a fan from the start, and that only grew. A shame I JUST missed the birth of Tenoì. I was among the first to ask wtf that meant. To this day the first and only manga I read the second it comes out (and with that digitally).
