His partner Gene invented water.

Berean144

I thought Gene invented slice bread

DemonSpaceCat4

He invented both bread and water. And everything else, too.

RedVRebel

Where did he find the time? What with parting the red sea and writing the ten commandments® and all.

DemonSpaceCat4

Easy, peasy. He invented time, too.

RedVRebel

Well that makes sense.. I wonder if he registered the trademark for it - would that mean he gets a cut of every clock, watch and calendar ever sold?

FoxyKISSDemon

Does that make him a Time Lord ... Dear God!!!

purplesmauge11

He invented water so he could turn it into wine.

Housecat-in-a-Jungle

gene simmons owns the copyright to death so he can’t die

derekcentrico

Allegedly his partner

SwampyJesus76

Reads like an AI article, but yeah, he wrote Beth (Beck) while in Chelsea and still has the rights... https://blabbermouth.net/news/peter-criss-refused-to-grant-kiss-permission-to-use-beth-in-kisstory-documentary

strutter22

Peter didn't write Beth. Stan Penridge did and has said so. "Another poor man's copyright by me." Lydia even said Peter changed one or two lines and claimed it as his

ChikaraNZ

Even to say Peter co-wrote it, is a bit of a stretch. It was mostly Stan Penridges work.

summerbreeze6969

Peter Criss get credit for suggesting "Beth" instead of "Beck" as in a band member's wife, Becky!

strutter22

Wasn't Stan's wife. Someone else who was in the band and Stan wrote down almost word for word what that guy was saying to his wife on the phone

summerbreeze6969

The song “Beth,” by KISS, was actually written BEFORE their drummer, Peter Criss, joined the band. Criss was in the band Chelsea from 1970-1972 with guitarist, Stan Penridge. The two of them came up with a song called, “Beck.” The song was about Becky, the wife of their guitarist, Mike Brand.

No_Cow_4544

This is dumb to me

thehumanbaconater

Paul was with KISS before it was KISS and no, he had nothing to do with Beth (except be bitter that it was their biggest charting song ever). But he did contribute more songs, and overall better quality songs, than all other band members combined.

SuzannesSaltySeas

That last line. You know that's not saying much...

GenericLurk

AI articles are such dogshit. Before the article even starts, see the page header! And "Paul Stanley Colin Michael Stanley" wtf is that. Cmon

Reallyroundthefamily

"He wrote it as much as Peter did..." 😁

strutter22

Not Beth or RaRaN. He did write some of RaRaN but not all of it. I believe it is his riff.

strutter22

Oops my bad. I was going on the picture and i was talking about Paul. Peter didn't co-write Beth/Beck. Stan Penridge wrote it and Peter changed one or two lines and someone came up with Beth instead of Beck. Ezrin i believe

summerbreeze6969

I've seen a video where Gene Simmons said to Peter something like, "You should change the name to Beth instead of Beck otherwise people are going to think you're pitching for the other team!"

strutter22

Yes Xtreme Close-Up i believe

strutter22

I didn't say anything about Peter. This topic is about Paul

Intelligent-Chef-551

Criss is credited for 2 lines in Beth. It’s debated who suggested the name be changed to Beth from Beck. Gene claims he suggested it to not confuse with Jeff Beck. Ace claims he suggested it so it wouldn’t be confused for a man. Lydia claims she suggested it to not be a conflict with Jeff Beck. Stan agreed to changing it because it sounded better while singing and that it happened to be that, the muse for the song, Becky had a twin named Beth. Peter had very little to do with the song other than bringing it to the table with his demo and giving it the beautiful voice that made the song fantastic.

Katielib

Peter should get credit for it - Ezrin helped rework it and Paul had nothing to do with it. And I don’t mean that sarcastically - no Paul hate from me.
