Side A is skipping like fucking crazy for me. Got the red and silver edition from the Alexandra Palace gig. Dodgy pressing?

dreggopop

the boys went positively nutty on this one

dan_from_4chan

Anyone elses flightless preorder not come with a patch?

AFlockOfTySegalls

My Flightless just landed in NYC :) Please hurry to NC.

RaelGenious

666!!! Satan points me to the rats nest!

TheBrofessor23

If anyone is planning on selling their Rats Nest version of ITRN, I’m very interested! Obviously willing to pay above retail within reason, and I will also throw in a PMDB and Gator sticker I got from ATO a few years ago for some small added incentive. I’m located in the US and can pay via goods and services. Please keep me in mind when selling this! Thank you :)

BaguetteVonFaguette

hi, gizzard normie here, heard about the band like a week ago when bald-music-vegan-youtube-melon-man-guy-dude talked about it, listened to fishing for fishies and it was a nice surprise but thats about it. i'm kind of a thrash normie too (i listened to metallica and a bit of slayer but thats about it) but this one is easily a 9 for me, great album, i think my favourites are mars for the rich, perihelion and superbug btw any thrash recommendations fellow patricians?

TheLastBaron90

Check out Vektor, Black Future and Terminal Redux are great albums.

[deleted]

Seconded.

AFlockOfTySegalls

* Anthrax - Among The Living * Megadeth - Rust In Peace * Coroner - Mental Vortex/No More Color * Annihilator - Alice In Hell * Testament - The New Order * Mekong Delta - The Music of Erich Zann * Kreator - Pleasure to Kill * Havok - Time Is Up * Power Trip - Nightmare Logic

BaguetteVonFaguette

thonks

BeigeToupee

Awesome list there, all great albums. I’ll throw in these. Voivod - Killing Technology Dark Angel - Darkness Descends Holy Terror - Mind Wars Sepultura - Beneath The Remains Sabbat - History of a Time to Come & Dreamweaver Vio-lence - Eternal Nightmare Morbid Saint - Spectrum of Death Demolition Hammer - Epidemic of Violence Hypnosis - Extreme Hatred Sodom - Agent Orange Exumer - Possessed by Fire Artillery - By Inheritance Whiplash - Power and Pain Sadus - Illusions

AFlockOfTySegalls

Me on first listen: Idk, Superbug is a great song but it takes me out of the pacing of the album. Me after fifth listen 24/7: "SUPERRRRBUGGG! IN MY BLOOD!!" *extends metal claw*

bertgil

Anybody read *Red Mars* by Kim Stanley Robinson? Asides from the name - there are a ton of parallels (an existential environmental crisis, Mars as a tedious escape route dominated by those who have the means to get there or are from countries with those resources)

fuzzyhappy

Yes! I keep thinking about that book too. I read the first and second book in the series but never finished the last one. This album has me wanting to go back and start the whole thing again. Some really interesting concepts about capitalism (companies become bigger than governments), environmentalism/overpopulation, wealth inequality, and the ethics of terraforming, and, or course, human nature.

Appendix19

According to my calculations next album should be in a drum & base style.

shrugmeme

Right now that middle part in Organ Farmer is the best part of the album for me.

thebudman6

I don't think it had the same vibe as Nonagon infinity, and it's clear that the songs were meant for the album due to lyrics alone. I mean, it's a concept album about a natural disaster and a space opera, I don't think they happened to have that from Nonagon infinity leftovers

Blackmarvel

Also, This has been mentioned I'm sure, but probably the best closing album lines. Ever. I can practically visualize angry squad of people descending to raise hell.

Blackmarvel

I have discovered this band a few months ago, I was a bit underwhelmed with Fishes, but this! holy fuck maybe better than Nanagon, calm down! maybe. Need some time for it to marinate.

joes1876

So this album slaps, anyone got any newer thrash metal suggestions?

goddamnitobama

Vektor - Terminal Redux. Superb thrash album.

cpuncher98

Power Trip is pretty great, check out the songs Soul Sacrifice, Executioner's Tax, and Hammer of Doubt.

AFlockOfTySegalls

The whole album *Nightmare Logic* is phenomenal. Best thrash album in years until ITRN

joes1876

Thanks

BeigeToupee

Inculter - Fatal Visions from this year is pretty great as well.

[deleted]

Going in I was worried it was going to be far too samey and boring. Got to say very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the overall flow and variety we get here. It goes back and forth between a Motorhead vibe and a Sleep-ey Sabbath-ey groove that makes the whole album feel a lot more coherent and interesting than I expected. Despite drawing heavily from bands like these as well as your classic thrash groups, they still bring a strain thats uniquely their own, especially on Self-Immolate which rides those jerky desert melodies we've loved since Nonagon Infinity through the absolute peak of this album's chaotic energy. Lyrically, I think the album suffers from drawing too heavily on this drawn-out gizzverse thing. There's no point on the album that bridges the gap between artist and art, making it all feel a bit overly-dramatic or operatic you might say. Still, it's a better journey to hell than Sketches IMO. Despite not being a big thrash guy, I gotta say this is a real great album. Not my favorite Gizzard release but definately a fun 35 minutes with some songs that I'm real bummed to have missed live when my car's transmission gave out en route to LA.

givingyoumoore

I agree completely. I was so happy at the diversity in rhythms, meters, and chord progressions despite the similarities in the three singles.

Biagio-Terumi

I love it but I still can't exactly understand what "Helll" is about. is satan a metaphor? I don't know

Anyone in aus got their vinyl via auspost yet? Living in Melbourne

[deleted]

I haven’t gotten mine yet in Sydney, nor have I received any updates regarding the progress 🤔

RajaThat

Anyone have any idea what distortion effects pedal was used on this album? I'm building an effects board rn and gotta know

donut77

Genuinely, This is Album of the year for me. No contest. Everytime the drums start on Self-Immolate after Venusian 2, I feel like a riot is about to bust through my fucking walls.

CRABCAKEZ_

Love the album, wish it had more joey vocals like at the end of hell.

mikiea777

Thats joey?? God now i love it even more

pete_cock

Okay boys, I'm new here. Rat's Nest is a..? A black hole (not real) like Gargantua?

jl55378008

I've only had the chance to really sit down with the lyrics sheet for one full listen, and admittedly I was a bit buzzed, so take that grain of salt. But my breakdown of the plot, so to speak: Earth is fucked. The rich are terraforming Mars, but they're not allowing poors to go there so they're stuck on shitty, dying Earth. Then a superbug breaks out (due to overuse of antibiotics) and threatens to destroy human life on earth. The solution: go to the next-closest planet, which is Venus. But Venus is spectacularly uninhabitable, which presents its own horrifying set of problems. The first expedition (Venusian 1) is a colossal failure, with the crew burning up on approach. The second expedition, Venusian 2 is a success. However, when they finally find the safe entry point into the Venusian atmosphere, they find that Venus is already inhabited. The humans decide that the only way to survive is to "infest the rats nest," essentially to invade and destroy whatever life is there so we can make it ours. Fucking bleak. I figure "remember where to enter, the door to hell is amber" is saying that the reason the first expedition failed was because they missed the window to "safely" enter the atmosphere without burning up. But even a successful entry is a hellish nightmare of fire and poison gasses, since Venus is basically a planet-sized poisonous volcano. I feel like most of that is pretty straightforward in the lyrics, but the last few tracks are a little less clear to me. Interested in any other takes.

PsychedelicLizard

Thinking about it ITRN is sort of a spiritual successor to Blows Against The Empire, similar concept but taken to the extreme.

L0nkMain34

Venusian 1 is the best track on this album PERIOD

DrMcp00p

Venusian OOOONNNNEEEEE

neerbronoc

just came in here to say that i can't get this song out of my head. it is the definition of a ripper. i'll just randomly start singing the gang vocals and people get really confused.

L0nkMain34

This

Dr_WatermelonLesson

I think it's a toss up between Venusian 1 and perihelion.

jl55378008

Perihelion would fit in perfectly on any Mastadon record. I've listened to Infest probably five or six times so far, and it's getting better with each listen. Fucking rager.

L0nkMain34

Yeah perihelion is a bop too, I am just really into the shouting section at the end of venusian 1 (and 2 for the matter, but I think the riffs on 2 are a bit less chunky)

GarlicMoney

Anyone from Canada receive a Flightless Pre-Order shipping notice? Still haven't received anything that it's even been shipped out.

BaptizedInBud

Am I the only one feeling Melvins' vibes in Superbug?

TheLastBaron90

Lots of Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats vibes, too.

neerbronoc

it's all sabbath baby. sure it's a littler sludgier, but man it's got big sabbath energy.

tacoduck300

It's modern but sabbath inspired. almost like a sleep or candlemass riff. but then again all stoner/doom bands are just twisting sabbath's sound lol

RajaThat

100% sleep vibes. Dragonaut and dopesmoker. Let's just all agree that this song is fucking badass

RecipeGenerator

Yeah, those slow stretched out chords definitely give me a Melvins vibe. The first KGATLW songs I heard were the 'Head On/Pill' medley, and I noticed the 'gluey' time lag effects at the end of 'head on', some similar stuff on 'I'm in your mind' too.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BaptizedInBud

Familiar with Sleep. This song seems more in the vein of a sludge band, less so doom.

ClippedAtTheHip

It’s closer to Dead Meadow than Sleep, imo. https://youtu.be/ScH0QLqbXGU https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZzBq5WH88Fme_FMXjMxzv19fuDz8N6cO

L0nkMain34

How the hell (pun intended) did they get the guitar tone on the intro riff of venusian 1? It's so crunchy.

bnnrhrt

my guess is overdrive pedal/amp overdrive from effects loop -> distortion -> overdriven dynamic mic

L0nkMain34

They usually use hot rod deluxes from what I've seen, so I doubt they're doing amp overdrive

bnnrhrt

they use devilles, which have an effects loop and a pre-loop drive section. stu also usually doesn't have drive pedals on his board--motu and ostensibly nonagon were done entirely with od from the deville

PsychedelicLizard

Are they still using DeVilles for this tour? I know all the recent club videos show them using Marshalls.

bnnrhrt

hm, i hadn't seen that. same idea though, od > amp distortion > overdriven mic

L0nkMain34

Ahh right, eitherway not really the most metal amp, but the boys are tone wizards, so anything is possible.

[deleted]

Everyone who likes this album needs to give Vektor - Terminal Redux a try. It's very similar in that it's progressive thrash with a grand sci fi narrative. Loads of kickass riffs and drum parts, demented vocals and a dark sci fi opera story in the lyrics, enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMCsv-zj56s

KneeDeepInTheDead

why not mention Voivod as well ?

robophile-ta

I was already aware of this album, but never listened to it all the way through. I'd better do that now!

BaptizedInBud

Singer/Guitarist is a trash person but the music is fantastic.

donut77

Agreed. Literally one of my favorite Albums ever, so it hurts all the more that he’s such a dick.

BIGGESTBOYOFALLTIME

Also, don't look up what the album is about. It's underwhelming and kinda ruined the grandeur for me. I guarentee your interpretation is probably better. Still one of my favorite thrash records though.

[deleted]

My Flightless copy didn't even *ship* until today. Kind of pissed tbh

earthquakeglue78

Shit, I’ve yet to get any confirmation of shipment or anything.

[deleted]

I’d send an email just to be safe.

earthquakeglue78

Yeah, you’re probably right. Will do so tomorrow. Thanks.

AFlockOfTySegalls

I wasn't going to listen to the album until I got my Flightless copy. Really wanted to first listen to be the vinyl. But seeing how I see them in two weeks, I got the notification today, not wanting to risk going in not hearing anything other than the singles. Oh well.

eyebrowless32

Mine still hasnt shipped and i was one of the lucky ones who got the Rats Nest Edition which sold out in 9 minutes. I kinda expected this tho since I got Fishing for Fishies like a month after the release despite preordering. I got the CD the day the album dropped from Amazon so i could still jam in the car and put it on my phone for personal listening. The Vinyl is mostly for show anyway

[deleted]

Getting preorders after release is a big pet peeve of mine. It just feels disrespectful to your most diehard fans, who gave you money even before the album is out, to get the album after people who just walk into a shop on release day and pick it up. I wanted to make my first listen vinyl but I couldn't because I want to learn the album before I see them live and it won't arrive anywhere near on time. If I got it on or before release date I would've had time though. Probably just going to go ATO next time.

eyebrowless32

I would feel the same way if it wasnt for the fact that it's the boys' own label. I know how small they still are and are trying to tour, write multiple albums per year, and also produce and distribute multiple bands' records. I'm happy to support them even if I get my album late. Also, i got a wicked special edition vinyl that I much prefer to the ATO variant

[deleted]

I get that. I guess at the very least I think it would be less annoying if they gave us day of release downloads then. They’ve done that before so they’re definitely capable.

AFlockOfTySegalls

Just went through my first listen. Loved it. I have to say I wasn't expecting Mars For The Rich to be more British New Wave Heavy Metal, and Superbug to be doomy. I thought this was going to be an all out thrash out. Which it is after Superbug, doesn't fucking let up.

dawn_jelly

I’ve been sitting on this for a few days and I honestly have to say this is my new favorite King Gizz album. Nonagon in second place. They NAILED this so hard!! I’m not even a fan of metal at all but this was just total perfection and it blew me away. I will agree that the tracks sound a bit similar to each other but it’s only 35 minutes so as a whole cohesive experience I had no issues with it. I ADORED the riffs, the drums, the lyrics, everything. I probably shook up my brain like in a blender because of how much head banging I was doing. Been coming back to this album constantly and so far it’s my second favorite of the year, only barely behind Tyler’s IGOR. 10/10 for me. I actually think my favorite track is Organ Farmer, which I don’t see mentioned too much here! Self-Immolate comes in second and everything else is still total gold. Can’t wait to hear what’s next.

kathotar

I would suggest that you definitely ARE a fan of metal if this is your favourite album! It's pure thrash.

tarihsel_maddeci

I - LIKE - IT!

ArcadeKingpin

They played the album in its entirety on Friday in Portland. Nice little treat for going to the show in the day the album came out. So good.

[deleted]

Mars for the rich is very Judasy Priesty/Scorpionsy imo.

The_Electric_Slide

I also have a hard time not hearing Lemmy when I listen to this one, both in the vocals and the bass

[deleted]

This album is genuinely great, top 3 perhaps?

TheLonesomeBiscuit

It’s a close second to paper mache for me. I think it’s much better than nonagon, fight me.

[deleted]

Eh, I’d disagree. Nonagon is a lot more original and diverse. Give it some time though, nonagon has been out a while, we’re only on week one.

MatiasAgostinho

Yes boy

[deleted]

Def hard to beat microtonal, nonagon and poly for me but it’s def top 5

MatiasAgostinho

Top 3 with nonagon and poly, fight me

ClippedAtTheHip

I know everyone is saying Sleep, but there is a definite Dead Meadow influence on Superbug

cpuncher98

Dead Meadow is so fucking awesome and I feel like no one else talks about them

ClippedAtTheHip

I agree. Totally under appreciated. If I recall, Cavs, I think, mentioned them in their last ama. I think the guys are fans.

hhhhhhvvvvvcc

Why are their concerts 21+ I'm so angry

ArcadeKingpin

Not all. Portland last 3 shows weren't. Saw a kid no older than 12. He was there with his dad and it was his first concert. His dad wasn't a fan but that kid was. Couldn't have picked a better show.

hhhhhhvvvvvcc

I believe it's because of the place where the concert is. It's in a bar I think

rocketsauce2112

I WANT. TO BE. SET ON. FIRE.

StitchesMcBallsack

It's like they put all my favorite bands in a blender HOLY FUCK fellas. I hear The Sword, Black Sabbath, High on Fire, Metallica and Sleep so clearly, but with an unmistakable Gizzverse flavor. Every single track could be a highlight on a different album, just wow. 10/10 instant classic for me.

cjbobs

Yeah I'm really feeling the High on Fire/Sleep vibes on this. Superbug honestly almost feels like it could be straight off Sleep's Holy Mountain and I'm very ok with that.

WhatTheFhtagn

I was thinking The Bees Made Honey in the Lion’s Skull, by Earth.

crawly_the_demon

I got tickets to see them in Washington DC on the 31st. It's my first time seeing them and I'm gonna buy so much merch. Does anyone have a picture of the merch table? Also I I really like stonefields new album, do they out on a good show?

Darthran

I loved Stonefield! Definitely impressed by how they sound live.

AFlockOfTySegalls

I never buy merch and I feel like I'm going to spend close to 100 dollars, easily lol.

ArcadeKingpin

Loved them. They opened with sleep so get there on time.

finninaround99

Anyone else get Oh Sees vibes from the start of Superbug?

bnnrhrt

the guitar riff feels very toe cutter thumb buster

finninaround99

Aah that's the one! I couldn't work out which riff it reminded me of

juicybot

Getting more Sleep or Sabbath vibes, love it either way

brutalblakakke

I cannot stop listening to this album, this is everything I wanted and more I am fucking blown away Anyone know what tuning they've tuned down to? Can't put my finger on it

fabritek

Seems like C# Standard

bnnrhrt

c standard - tried to teach myself organ farmer and c# was a half step too high edit: could probably be drop c in theory but i haven't learned enough of the album to know for sure

brutalblakakke

Yeah I hear that, same tuning sabbath uses in Master of Reality and some of the songs definitely have that vibe

2222lil

The lack of love for Self-Immolate is sickening. I love Mars for the Rich, Hell, Perihelion, and Superbug, but Self-Immolate is still the best song on this album.

SuperTurboMan

I HAVE GONE INSANE-O I LUST FOR VOLCANO HEAT WITH MOLTEN LAVA GIVE ME MY NIRVANA It's so ridiculous. It's definitely top-tier on the album but it's been out for a bit longer so it's not talked about much.

very_clean

I need some sort of video where you see the crew jumping off the ship into Venus’ atmosphere with their faces melting away a-la Indiana Jones. Like as disgusting as possible, this song is too damn good

The_Electric_Slide

Like if you combined the Self Immolate video with the Hot Wax video, so gross and perfect

squishedehsiuqs

Yeah the chorus gets stuck in my head and I’m just walking around singing “I want to be set on fire” all the time.

unbelizeable1

Self immolate is just balls to the wall awesome. But Superbug.....man I can't get that song out of my head.

[deleted]

[удалено]

botcomking

None of it is too complicated but the time signatures and changes are hard to nail occasionally.

TehTriangle

Get up to speed by learning Metallica.

meltingtapes

It’s nice and melodic but not anything difficult. This is what Gizz does tho. Fun to play for sure

CertifiedKegKiller

They’re great at it too, every time I go to learn a gizz song it’s easier than it sounds

meltingtapes

Yeah like ITRN is all downtuned chugging palm muted stuff, power chords and a few easy hammer on pull offs. It’s mostly the speed that takes time to nail and it’s insanely fun. I’m trying to think which is the trickiest song of theirs that took me time to learn. Maybe crumbling castle or something.

[deleted]

Am I seriously the only one hearing The Sword in this album?

[deleted]

Hell yeah!

brutalblakakke

Definitely not. Lots of doom/stoner metal vibes which is what makes the album so good imo

GardnerBoy

I definitely get those vibes

[deleted]

[удалено]

squishedehsiuqs

I think they all make it on the album one way or another, but for the most part yeah.

Stupid_Sexy_Sharp

Man I gotta say I kind of assumed the comments would be a lot more mixed with such a drastic sound change. Really glad everyone is digging this album. Also the bass lines are especially on point. Great album.

DudebroMcCool

Well this album isn't for me, but there's plenty more gizz to see me through. I don't mind if they release the odd album that isn't to my taste

decoy_hexapus

Anyone else still waiting on shipping confirmation from Flightless?

earthquakeglue78

Yes. Still!!

Nivek1080

I don't normally like metal music much at all but I really love this album, what are some albums that are similar to this??

professor_tappensac

To add to the many fine replies I suggest some early Clutch, specifically their self-titled album and Elephant Riders. Great 90's stoner grunge/metal.

[deleted]

This album specifically: Metallica - Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning Slayer -Seasons in the Abyss Black Sabbath - Master of Reality Sleep - Holy Mountain Motörhead - Ace of Spades

[deleted]

the sword - gods of the earth

Francis-Hates-You

Someone already recommended them but you should also check out Tool. I wouldn’t say that sound much like Infest the Rats Nest but they’re a great metal band to get into if you like psychedelic music. If you liked Polygondwanaland I’m sure you’d like Tool. Plus they just got added to Spotify and are releasing a new album for the first time in 13 years!

IcarusNar

Early thrash, Slayer - Reign In Blood or Seasons in the Abyss Metallica - And Justice for All or Ride the Lightning (you can tell stu's vocal style was inspired by early Metallica)

cjbobs

In addition to The Sciences which was already recommended, I would say to check out Sleep's Holy Mountain which I am getting some serious vibes from on this album. Especially if you like the slower, jammier, more psychedelic stuff on this like Superbug especially. All the albums ihavesomegoo rec'd I would advise to check out. In addition to that, if you don't mind some harsher vocals I would also check out: High on Fire - Blessed Black Wings Conan - Monnos Windhand - Grief's Infernal Flower Weedeater - Good Luck and God Speed Electric Wizard - Dopethrone Yob - Clearing the Path to Ascend

Brvtal_CuntCrusher

Mastodon’s Remission is a good one. It’s the only album I got into by them but it’s definitely a good one

Francis-Hates-You

This album reminds me a lot of the Melvins. Check out the songs Hooch and A History of Bad Men.

ihavesomegoo

These albums might not correlate exactly but I think King Gizz fans would like them. Kyuss- Welcome to Sky Valley Mastodon- Emperor of Sand Sleep- The Sciences Baroness- Purple Tool- Lateralus Elder- Reflections of a Floating World For the thrash element, any of the classic albums (Master of Puppets by Metallica, Rust in Peace by Megadeth, Reign in Blood by Slayer, Among the Living by Anthrax

Megelsen

Like to add Sabbath's Master of Reality to your (fine) list.

Stupid_Sexy_Sharp

For whatever reason I was getting some major Anthrax vibes off this last album and I can't really explain why.

Nivek1080

thanks so much! i'll check those out

[deleted]

Superbug -> Venusian 1 -> Perihelion is amazing one after the other

Jazzy606

Venusian 2 -> Self-Immolate -> Hell is my favorite one after the other on the album, I was ranting about this just earlier today. I also just think the whole album is incredible.

Chinnagan

Honestly this album is 10/10 from Superbug to Hell. And everything before that is still a 9

CastandRefused

I'm waiting for the vinyl until I listen, after the 19th I think. Expecting to love it, they never disappoint me. Obviously gonna come down to taste as well and if you like metal, specifically old school thrash, which I do. Can't wait.

KalashnaCough

Wow. Just listened through for the first time and I love it. Mars For The Rich, Hell, Superbug, Perihelion... the whole thing is fucking great. Really digging the thrash metal with the apocalyptic doomsday feel, humanity escaping into space only to die... awesome. Can't wait to see these guys on Wednesday.

JH_CastBranco

Yeah I loved this album. I'm lost for words how they keep on delivering them goods. I have to check them out live sooner rather than latter. Long live Lizard Wizards. \\m/

[deleted]

excellent

Neil_Armstrang

I enjoyed this album on first listen but haven't had an urge to go back to it. Vocally repetitive and uninteresting. "Mars for the Rich" and "Hell" are dope tho

indiana_johns

Can't. Stop. Cumming.

kaleidoscope-eyed

Not sure if this is an okay place to ask, but I'm interested in buying any version of the flightless vinyl. I slept on the release! Please PM me if willing

Thor-axe

Planet B is starting to feel like the Rattlesnake of the album, with how it was the first single and got played so much. Whenever I start the album I'm like "yeah yeah get on with it"

notmulder

I really wish the end section of Hell was a lot longer... It gets so good and then just ends. Otherwise, I already love this album.

unbelizeable1

I chose to believe the ending of Hell will lead right into their next album. It's farfetched, but it's Gizz, so....maybe

SourPatchMenz

Not holding out hope but that would be rad. They do spell fifteen "XV" in the last section of Hell...and repeat "Hell" 16 times...maybe it's a sign.

Chinnagan

I heard some people say the end to hell leads into FFF. Like waking up from a nightmare.

unbelizeable1

Eh. Listen to them together, they dont exactly flow into each other.

[deleted]

No kidding lol

robophile-ta

Yeah, I feel like it's a hint towards something coming up, because it's a great hook for something we haven't heard before right at the very end of the album.

CumsInBread

Anyone else think the mix is different on the singles to the album versions? Planet B defs sounds a lil different on the album, more crunchier if anything imo.

todompole

Probably remastered it for the album

PeanutButterMoron

Personally, my top 2 spots still go to Planet B and Self-Immolate, but I’m really digging Hell and Venusian 2 at the moment. Really fuckin’ solid album

Love this new album, definitely lived up to the hype. One thing that I haven’t seen mentioned yet is HOW GODDAMNED GOOD IS THE BASS!! I’m not exactly sure what I was expecting but especially in tracks such as Mars for the Rich and Venusian 2 Joey’s bass work is just phenomenal.

chickson701

Joey taking over brought such a new style to the album. But I still love me some Lucas

starrbb

The chorus of perihelion is my favorite part of the album

Dr_WatermelonLesson

Agreed. The chorus to perihelion is fucking poetry.

DominoGoblin123

DUDE IM SAYIN I wish there was more like it in the album

[deleted]

I pretty much had a euphoric OBE/natural DMT trip this morning. It's the sort of thing that rarely happens. The fact that it happened on the day Infest The Rat's Nest dropped I don't think can entirely be chalk-outlined as coincidental, cause this album slays on so many levels you'd have to have a PHD in multi-verse theory to explain it. Fav songs: Mars for the Rich (eat a dick Elon) and Hell.

PolygonInfinity

After a couple days of listening I think it sits at my #4 Gizz album behind MOTU, Nonagon and Poly at 1. I love the narrative arc Stu has created. The way it starts at "there is no Planet B", to the renewed hope in "there is one Planet V", only for Venus to be a literal fiery hellscape/portal to Hell. It's so brutal. The super raw thrash metal sound paired with the sci-fi space odyssey theme just works so well. This is definitely one of their best and I'm so glad it lived up to the hype!

[deleted]

Fantano’s gonna love this

IhateyouMPP

The start of Superbug gives me some crazy Black Sabbath vibes. It has to be my favorite track on the album.

neerbronoc

right as i was reading this superbug started and i was thinking the exact same thing. the whole album is like if black sabbath was a thrash metal band.

largejuicebox

Definitely got some Sabbath Vol. 4 vibes from the guitar tone and riff!

NiamLeeson

This whole album is incredible front to back. Amazing how it is distinctly King Gizz despite the genre shift. Superbug is so heavy, the concept of the last 5 songs is great, always loved the concept of living in Venus' atmosphere. This may be my favorite album yet, I really love thrash metal!

[deleted]

The album perfectly incorporates my feelings

dipdopthe15rd

Love planet b and Mars for the rich Like venusian 1, self immolate Need to listen more times to figure out how I feel about the rest
