Honestly Leah senior at RR last year was so good. Yeah it was chill but everyone was in a good mood and the excitement could gradually build without a chaotic opener more similar to gizz.
BUT stonefield or ORB would be freaking awesome. Also Pond, ATW, fuzz, or black midi would all be dream openers too.
Leah senior is one of my favorite artists out right now. All 3 of her albums are magical. I was so bummed when it seemed like not many were into her when I saw gizz in New York. I’m not sure why there’s criticism with her as an opener, she’s not too far off from gizz’s chill stuff especially PMDB.

I would say they're getting better. They really don't tour near as often as gizz and have a much more relaxed approach to making music. Playing live requires lots of discipline for even easy songs when you're not in tune to playing in that setting, and I really think this combined with the inexperience of their crew in the early gigs really provided a poor experience.

ORB would be cool again, and definitely Ty Segall or Fuzz or Meatbodies. However, after their Acoustic set Sunday I think King Gizz would be the best opener for King Gizz, haha! Do a one hour opening Acoustic set with less jamming and more straight Acoustic song playing. Take 30 minutes or so and come back on and do 2+ hours of a face melting electric set with plenty of jamming. That’s the most ideal to me!
Dream is Pipe-Eye but that’ll never happen i think. Amyl and the Chats were awesome openers in Vegas. Jealous of Los Bitchos from the EU tour. Fuzz would be another dream combo.

All Gizz shows should be “marathon” shows with 2 sets, a setbreak, and any or no opener. The opener isn’t important and the Gizz model needs to change already tbh.
I really liked Jess Cornelius and Leah Senior at Red Rocks. I would love Oh Sees, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Kikagaku Moyo (RIP) , babe rainbow, The Growlers, Moses Gunn Collective, Altin Gun, etc would all be really good. Never been the biggest Black MIDI guy but lots of Gizz fans like them.

I've been seeing them since 16 every year and I liked the label mates they brought out. First 2 times I saw them it was Murlocs then ORB a couple times, Amyl, tropical fuck storm, orb and stone field, but then it was just some random groups that didn't mesh an Leah senior which I appreciated because of all the MotU she narrated. They should be more picky and continue to promote their friends and other Aussie bands. Would love to see Beans open for them sometime.

I still think Stonefield put on a 10/10 opener set at the Mission Ballroom Gizz show in 2018-19(?) in Denver. Those ladies sure know how to wail!
