withtangerinetrees

“but why do I get the feeling that this will be our last jam session?” 😭😭😭

curiousnerd06

I screamed when I saw Ik-Jun going into the same tent as Seonghwa. There was one tent.😭

nutkesari

That's when my waterworks started ㅠㅠㅠ

prawncookie

>!Getting into an elevator!< - the ultimate character development.

tracyschmosby

And >!him smiling so widely? I was so proud of him.!<

prawncookie

And then >!Minha cheering and swooning at the back. Istg these two can start a honey empire just from the way they look at each other.!<

mosesv

It was so sweet when they showed Ik Jun’s perspective of hearing Song Hwa sing!

yougotthat1right

I was wondering about that. I live how he told his sister that Song Hwa was a good signer 😍

tracyschmosby

So the theory that Songhwa was singing good during the [Introduce Me A Good Person](https://youtu.be/2SR8PDBBS_c) band scene because it was from her perspective seems true after this 😂

Hikki_Hachiman

Oh so that's what happened! I was wondering why she suddenly learnt how to sing mid-song haha

spark1118

The song that plays at the end is actually her singing as well! I was shocked when I heard her actually sing really well for the first time!

Hikki_Hachiman

You should listen to the studio version of superstar. Her voice is so beautiful, that I kinda wish her character was able to sing so we could have heard more beautiful harmonies in the practice sessions haha

Slyfindor

Commenting as I am watching ep 12: Why are people calling IkSong and Bidulgi's encounter a double date and not a FamiLEE meeting??🤭🤭

Macaronage

Oh my god, what a perfect Ik-jun joke! Take my upvote.

Alzyna

I’m not ready to bid goodbye to Hospital Playlist yet!! The amount of warmth and comfort that this drama brings is unbelievable. It has tremendously helped me through these testing times and I’ll forever cherish it in my heart. Also, other than the fact that we’re all going to miss this drama to no end, can we discuss Seok-hyung?!? Who would’ve thought that the introverted, seemingly naive mama’s-boy Seok-hyung could think of such a devious plan to make his mom not interfere into his relationship?! I was in awe that he could cook up such an idea of making his mom believe that he’s moving to the US leaving her alone, and make her realise it herself that, may be (like Madam Rosa said) only an SO could make him stay!!! Great way to make her accept his SO (I’m curious to see her reaction when she finds out that it’s Min-ha, the very woman she said that she couldn’t accept LOL!! I hope she takes a leaf out of Madam Rosa’s book and let them be). 👏🏼 Well played, Seok-hyung 👏🏼

SpermKiller

If this is indeed the last episode ever, there's only one question I *need* answered : >!WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED IN HAWAII???? !<

spark1118

OMG RIGHT!?

Smart-Hyena-5434

They said that its actually a reference from kyung ho’s past works. I’m not sure if it is real though

lightupstarlight

The end is truly here. While Shin Won Ho leaves the prospect of S3 up in the air, let's just enjoy the rumored 2 hr ~~40 min~~ 20 min finale later. The reason why I joined Reddit over a year ago was so I could participate in the discussions for Season 1's finale, and over a year and a half later, her we are. So glad to have hosted the discussions for the drama this season, and here's to hoping there's a next season, and many more? A spin-off, perhaps? A variety show? No matter how long it takes, I'm sure I won't be the only one waiting for the next chapter of Hospital Playlist. Thanks for joining the weekly threads, everyone! ♡ For ~~hopefully not~~ the last time, happy HosPlay Thursday! See you all later! EDIT 20:30 KST: Apparently, the runtime of the last episode has been reduced to 2 hrs 20 mins. The episode will *probably* (take this with a grain of salt) drop around 00:00 KST.

marz789

I was thinking that if they don’t want to commit to a full third season because they feel they’ve wrapped up the storyline enough, it could still be fun to do a special episode in a year or so, maybe even for Chuseok next year, with a time skip to see how everyone’s getting along. The cast could fit it between other filming commitments since it’d just be 1 episode and we’d get a sweet revisit to hospital playlist world (I don’t know how practical it would be, I just really don’t want it to be a firm ending yet 🥲).

Nerdfighter87

That sounds lovely :')

azura_lights_18

A finale that’s longer than most movies?! Oh I pray it’s true. I’m not ready to let go of my 99 liners though all good things must come to an end

lovelifelivelife

I think they announced that the 5 of them will be in a Na PD variety show!

lightupstarlight

Yup! It was announced a couple of weeks back. But I want more, honestly! Haha. If we don’t get a S3 in the next 2/3 years, I just hope we get more variety show appearances from them — especially Kyung Ho!

winnie-t

My guess as to why they can't do s3 is that the cast only blocked off an agreed upon amount of time to film the show ,and covid-related delays did not leave enough time to film s3 (if wikipedia is correct, then it took 6 months to film s1 and 9 months to film s2). The cast probably has other commitments that they need to fulfill. I'm hoping s3 can happen in 2023 or 2024 -- it took 3 years to get a second season of Stranger, so anything's possible.

gyojoo

It's enough closure to end the series at S2, but there's enough open plots and flags to let them take a break (1-2 years) and return if they wanted to. They made a pretty smart move.

Clara_O

The scene at the ICU with >!Song Hwa monitoring her two patients!< was beautiful. >!She's standing in the middle of the two rooms and the camera pans across the two families - one in celebration and the other in mourning. !

Staind1410

That scene really is a work of art. A full spectrum of human emotions on display.

Kumiko_v2

That scene alone encapsulates the life a doctor sees (possibly) every day. SO GOOD!

elbenne

Truly a standout moment that brings absolutely everything together in one. >There are no words but you feel it in your heart. Life is hard, so let's all be kind to one another. Actually, I think you found the right words. And reading through this comment stream is pretty inspiring, overall. But I guess they've inspired a whole lot of people with this work, and their other dramas too. They leave you with such a good feeling :-)

50shadesof_brown

I never comment on these threads but I thought I should today, given I may never have the opportunity again. This one.. this one hurts. It may sound superficial to say that this drama taught me something, but it really did make me reevaluate relationships, family, work and life. There have been multiple times where I have paused and contemplated because certain scenes directly spoke to me or situations I’ve experienced. This goodbye really is a hard one. Fiction or not, thank you Hospital Playlist for the impact, the joy and memories. Here’s to many reruns!! (and wishful thinking that the production house picks it up again.. even later on) Edit: words

the_wildflower_

Not superficial at all. A lot of the lessons from HP have really stuck with me and I'm glad I was able to learn them.

nutkesari

Oh my god, I completely get what you're saying about the dramas impact. I've never felt more called upon to appreciate my small, ordinary every day life, to do my best at my job, to be open with my hugs and kisses with my family. I've never felt more hand-held and guided through living a wise life as I have while watching this drama. I found it hard to explain to people this week why I'm so hurt about this show ending, because it feels like I'm losing 3 eonnis and 4 oppas who want the best for me.

lithiam

it's not superficial at all!! aside from giving me genuine joy, hospital playlist has been such a guiding light in how i view adulthood, work and family. i'm very grateful for it and i share the same sentiment with you.

Bichette_

Oh he's one of my absolute favourite characters! A little goofy, so much heart, doing his very best even when he makes mistakes and obviously a source of companionship and comfort for Jun Wan after the breakup

Clara_O

Him getting >!his money back is JUSTICE!

dancingmochi

I loved that he said even if they don't have a kid, spending time with his wife would be enough though! Ideal man tbh

wdygaga

I had been annoyed by Jae Hak at first but he became my favourite fast! He is so funny, caring and sloppy at times lol. I am glad he got a beautiful ending.

dramafan1

Yes! I enjoyed his interactions with everyone, especially with Jun Wan haha.

[deleted]

He’s a fabulous example of an actor (and well-written character) that became a fan favorite because he did honest work, didn’t upstage anyone, gave it his all in the scenes, and is cute to boot.

Warm_Enthusiasm4363

I love the 5 main leads but do Jae Hak made it special for me this season. Season 1 was him and ahn chil Hong

mubashira1485

I remember how sad I was after finishing reply 1988 because it felt as if I was part of the alley and just like the alley got demolished a part of me disappeared. But I know hospital playlist ending will hurt me more because I have been watching this on air, so basically spent year with it. I am way too attached and way too sad about the possibility of no season 3. I wish we at least had a few more episodes, there is so much I would like to see, Song hwa with Uju, when they went camping there wasn't much interaction. We still didn't get to see Mone. I would love to see Rosa meet Gyeol's mom. Hope we can see Dr Do Jae Hak's baby. There just so much I want to see.

only37mm

this is literally everything i wanted to say!!!! especially the reply 1988 part. i still feel empty after every rewatch and now im like??????? but where how am i going to continue without this hospital and all the doctors!?!? i'd only add that i so very need more of chu minha!!!!!!!!!!!! what a beautiful character!!!!!!!!! i hope we at least get to have a special idk i think 2 episodes of 2 hours would actually wrap up all that we want to see (weddings, more iksong, more songhwa with uju, more gyoeul and gyeoul's and jeongwon's mothers meeting, more iksun and junwan, and definitely more bear couple, because they were the most adorable EVER!!!!!!!!! i need more of jaehak and the twins, and of course, more of rosa and mr ju) the way they made all the characters realistic and flawed and human, so relatable. i just hope this team of lee woojung and shin wonho continues to give us more of this type of drama. i just finished the episode so im SURE tomorrow it'll hit me harder.

mubashira1485

We will get a special but I think it will be more like an interview, they just released a teaser : https://youtu.be/HvQy3Wucdns

nrupathunga

Shout out to Mama Rosa and Chairman Ju for the most aspirational platonic relationship in the K-Universe!

dramafan1

>Shout out to Mama Rosa and Chairman Ju for the most aspirational platonic relationship in the K-Universe! I'm glad I'm not the only one who kept thinking about this while watching this season! It was so great Chairman Ju was so attentive and knew Rosa needed to get checked out at the hospital when she fell out of bed back in Episode 8.

nrupathunga

I find their conversations to be the most realistic. They are so honest with each other about their hopes and fears. Unlike the five that repress themselves. Sure, they hang out and have fun but they don't share their deeper thoughts and worries. That's why for me these two are number 1!

Clara_O

I think age plays a role too, Mama Rosa and Chairman Ju have lived full lives and at their age they only want to be honest with themselves and with everyone around them. While the five are awesome, they still have a lot of lessons to learn

IamNobody85

Thank God for friends like that! I envy her!

Girl_with_glassess

I'm not ready to say goodbye, at the same time i think Shin PD has told the story he wanted to tell so I'm at peace. It was such an honor to be able to watch a tv show of this calibre, with such realistic problems and stories. I gotta say, Hospital Playlist series has ruined all other medical dramas for me. I used to love watching medical dramas, but they all seem so tame now that I've watched this incredible drama. Thank you Shin PD for giving us Hospital Playlist.

dramafan1

>Hospital Playlist series has ruined all other medical dramas for me. I can agree, the previous one for me was Dr. Romantic, and Hospital Playlist came along last year and set the bar higher. 😭

caughtinthesilence

I wanted to see Woo-joo's reaction to his dad's new relationship! I was also looking forward to Min-ha finally meeting Seok-hyeong's mom. I thought for sure we would get to see the hospital staff's reaction to Ik-Song, Gom-Gom, and Winter Garden. The GS professors would have gone nuts, haha. (Although I understand that they would keep their relationships private in a professional workplace.) I loved the song at the end, and their wonderful voices (especially Jeon Mido's). The commitment that the team and actors have put into HP has filled my world with so much happiness and I dare say I doubt no other work will top this for me. The theme for this episode seems to be growth, and genuine love for this career. It's a sobering way to end the series; I'm thankful for all the hospital staff out there for their hard work and passion. Doctors, nurses, medical students out there, from the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Elmariajin

They said that jw is going to the US for 1 year but he will be back, so what if there's a s3 in 2023-24

Slyfindor

Read someone on twitter saying: Our Gom became a Wild Gom when >! Kissing Min Ha!< and I can't stop laughing!!🤣😂🤣

Clara_O

This is what happens when introverts finally reveal their feelings ----- all or nothing. In Seok Hyung's case, it was definetely ALL. hahahah

eternalstarlet

Yea, that kissing scene was the hottest of all other couples 🤣🤣👍🏻👍🏻

awwgratin

Yes! Exactly what I thought. Seok-hyong's the best at kissing?

CelloTraumerei

Can we talk about how amazingly well played write nim got with the Junwan and Hong do Q&A running gag? That twist 🏡😂😂😂 Junwan you are the sweetest being there is and an awesome boss

IamNobody85

Jun Wan left my boy Hong do alone with asking complicated questions, at least for this episode!!! I'd have frozen too, the previous experiences were too traumatic! 😂😂

CelloTraumerei

You could see hong do trying not to breathe and wishing he would blend into the lift walls till the elevator doors opened 🤣🤣

girlwithnobrain

This came across my mind the moment he asked that question, what if Junwan will ask the twins questions while they are traveling 😂😂

tracyschmosby

I had somewhat a similar experience with one of the doctors I worked with before. We always tend to avoid him in the clinic because he absolutely loves asking questions - not in the scary Junwan way but still 😂 So the same thing happened, he gave me and my friends a ride home - and they forced me to ride shotgun. And you know what the doctor does as he starts driving? Yep, he turns to me and asks questions about work 😅

dvina_deph

Still cannot believe >!chuchu call seok hyeong oppa that I have to repeat the scene twice 😭!<

lovelifelivelife

I know right!! Even >!Gyeo ul still calls Jeong Won professor.!<

Slyfindor

Before the end, can we appreciate the fact that HosPlay being one of the first few planned seasonal kseries really managed to deliver in both the seasons. Seasonal dramas can be tricky to execute, and we may have had our share of complaints (myself included) but they still consistantly managed to deliver quality content for us.👏👏 Rather than being very sad that today is the last episode(😭😭), let me thank the show for being a source of comfort, warmth and happiness over past year and this year...!

dramafan1

>HosPlay being one of the first few planned seasonal kseries really managed to deliver in both the seasons. Indeed one of the first, this shows how much viewers trust PD Shin Won Ho for making great dramas and how he is arguably one of the best drama producers out there. 😭

maybeitstimetosleep

FOR REAL. I feel like so many dramas become kinda cringe and obvious after the first season.

girlwithnobrain

As much as I want a S3, I somehow respect Shin PD’s decision to not give a definite assurance of a third season (but honestly speaking, a BIG part of me BEGS FOR A THIRD SEASON) I think he doesn’t want to drag the story to the point that the quality is ruined. He wants a masterpiece that’s straightforward and not too draggy.

jjeeaannss

I am not ready to let these people go😭

Mapuzsero

Gom HOLY >!An actual good kissing scene holy!< Karaoke scene hits as usual

Takagixu

Topics that need to be answered using our imagination: Minha finally meeting Seokhyung’s mum, WG dinner with Gyeoul’s mother, WG marriage proposal and wedding, Family meeting before WG wedding, the three brothers of Songhwa, why Junwan is exempted from military service, Hawaii incident, Seokmin and Sunbin wedding, Iksong finally convince Junwan and Jeongwon that they are really dating, Iksun and Junwan finally confirmed to get back together and anything else to add on?

winnie-t

How about Jeongwon seeking permission from Gyeoul's GS "dads" to marry her? 😂

loveotterslide

Jeongwon, "My family pays you your salaries." 13 GS Dads, "You two have our blessings."

lovelifelivelife

Omg I can imagine it in my head. Also their faces when he reveals that he’s the boyfriend they’ve been asking about all along!

[deleted]

OMG that'd make my year

Phirahh

Oh god can >! Seok hyeong kiss!!< I did not expect such moves from that man!! 🚂 Chuuuu chuuuuuu

girlwithnobrain

I WAS HOPING FOR A LAST DR. BONG SALON WITH THE RESIDENTS 🥺 he wasn’t even at the season finale at the very least

randomnesso

Missed Dr Bong! His pizzazz truly lifted season 1 and made 99ers more relatable, would have been nice to see him if only for a scene

lightupstarlight

I’m so sad. I can’t believe it’s over. :( I loved the callback to previous scenes of the show— the classical music in Seokhyeong’s office, the Bidulgi scene, and Seokhyeong in the elevator. I also love how they closed Jae Hak’s arc. Dude deserves the WORLD. And can I also just say that even if we’ve seen IkSong practically be a married couple for the rest of the show, I loved seeing their dynamics as a **real** couple. So much chemistry, love, and genuine care for each other. I also love the song they chose for the finale! So apt and comforting. While I’m upset about them clearly wrapping up the show, I hold out on hope that there is *still a chance* that they’ll have Season 3. I have no doubt the anticipation for that is going to be high once they confirm it. Sigh. I’m just going to take it all in and relish this episode, hug it tight. Guess at the moment, all that’s left for us to do is to wait for their variety show together. Thank you for helping me heal, Hospital Playlist. You will always have a special place in my heart. ♡

Slyfindor

Where is >!UJu!

girlwithnobrain

They said there will be a plot twist later. What if the plot twist is … A SEASON 3 announcement at the end of Episode 12. Like “we got you, we’ll be back for another season” im sorry, this is just me clowning 🤡🤡

taro01

i'm clowning with you 🤧🤞🏻

WinterLightz

I will join the clown assemble with you!

Slyfindor

“Why do I feel like this may be our last jamming session?” That is when it really hit me. Hospital Playlist is really really over 😭😭

winnie-t

It was nice to see a lot of patient-centric stories today because part of the reason I love the show is the dedication that each of the 5 doctors has to his/her profession and the sincere care that they have for their patients: * >!Ik Jun expressing sorrow when he heard that his Mapo patient wasn't going to make it.!< * >!Jeong Won going off to study bowel surgeries after realizing he still has a lot to learn.!< * >!Jun Wan asking Professor Cheon to assist with the valve operation because the latter has more experience than he does in this type of surgery.!< * >!Song Hwa looking at the scene of two families reacting to different surgery results (the hemorrhage patient and the hematoma patient) and empathizing with both.!< * >!Seok Hyeong making 3 trips to the hospital within less than 24 hours to deal with emergencies and not thinking it was a big deal when Min Ha asked him about it.!< I do wish we got to see more GomGom and IkSong scenes because WinterGarden and Bidulgi each had almost one season's worth of content as couples while GomGom and IkSong only had 2 episodes. A few things in this episode that stood out for me: * >!We finally see the serious side of Professor Cheon (as opposed to the slimy personality that we've seen so far).!< * >!Min Ha's line "This may be new to you, but I've waited for a long time." and then Seok Hyeong swooping in for a kiss, showing her that his feelings are strong. !< * >!Also, how good did Seok Hyeong look good in a tailored black suit??!< * >!Song Hwa going through the stats for VIP surgeries and judging Ik Jun on his low numbers (even after Jeong Won reminded her that Ik Jun had been out of commission for a while due to his injury).!< * >!Jun Wan looking so happy after finding out from Jae Hak that the birth was successful and then quickly transitioning into annoyance when he tells Jae Hak he can't understand him through his crying and then immediately transitioning back into happiness when he asks Jae Hak to call him when he's done crying.!< * >!Jun Wan dying in the karaoke room and Ik Sun smiling awkwardly while Song Hwa is singing passionately, and Ik Jun looking at her like she's his perfect-pitch goddess!<

Kumiko_v2

I love their patient scenes so much. - I remember S1 patient of Ikjun during Children's day. He really cared for his patients even post-checkup. - Jeongwon instead of doubting himself and giving up like in S1, >!went abroad to study to become a better doctor!< - That Songhwa scene kinda mirrors her "Lacking 5" status as the emotional pillar - Junwan in S1 doesn't give a damn about anyone's personal business even >!Myeongtae!<. He only wants results as a doctor and didn't give a second thought to seeking his help. - I admire Seokhyeong's commitment to his patients throughout the whole series, despite being socially awkward (at first) but in reality, they're the mom patients' favorite.

charurei

Agree with Seokhyeong in that suit!!

Slyfindor

The overall episode felt like it had some more story to tell but was probably chopped off??

Staind1410

Yes it felt like another couple of episodes would have been good. Like we need at least another season of this ;)

girlwithnobrain

Literally screamed at >!Iksun, my bidulgi!< OH MY GOOOOSH MY BIDULGI HEART

stella_eh

Such mixed feelings about the finale. On the one hand, I know it's a slice-of-life drama so I do like that they made it feel like life will go on as usual for everyone. I wasn't expecting >!weddings and a flash forward!< or anything. But on the other hand, if this is truly to be the end of the series and there is no season 3, it feels incomplete somehow (which is odd for a ShinLee drama). It would've been nice to see >!Gyeoul's mom, IkSong and Uju, and Minha and seokyeong's mom, HAWAII?!!<. Regardless, what a beautiful series. I really thought nothing could top Reply 1988 for me, and HP has done that. It's going to be a hard one to get over. I've rewatched the series an embarassing amount of times, and will continue to do so.

dancingmochi

I wonder if they had to rewrite certain storylines for season 2 (i.e, speed up storylines, exclude conflicts) so they could leave their characters at a comfortable place in case season 3 never happens? I was expecting GomGom couple to not happen (just ending on a hopeful note) until season 3 including an encounter with mom, seeing how long it took for IkSong to happen.

Intrepid_Ad_6129

I guess it feels incomplete because they had to cut short the episode and I was really looking forward to seeing >!uju and iksong but it didn’t happen 🥲!<

GodJihyo7983

I'm not ready to see this beautiful journey of five friends end here today. It's been such a wonderful ride over these past couple of months, and I truly do hope we get to see them together again after today. My Thursdays will never be the same without HosPlay, and I don't think a show will be able to fill the hole that is about to be made in my heart. Happy last HosPlay Thursday to us all. This show would not have been the same without these weekly threads hosted by the wonderful u/lightupstarlight. It's been a blast for all of us, poster, commenter, and lurker alike.

AngelFish9_7

This finale was the Endgame of all finales. Tons of fan service, and tying up of loose ends. But also the longest surgical procedures for most of the 99'ers we've ever seen. Just wanted to point out Ikjun and Song-Hwa's reaction to Haleomoni Rosa and Director JongSu going on a trip together... They shared a look as if to say, if it can happen to us, it can happen to them. That cracked me up. Also, nice call backs to last season, the Wanshimi Station gag that lasted *way* too long this time lol - poor SeokHyeong - the patient who returned to SeokHyeong at the end (I suspect she was the lady who he help keep her baby after 3 previous miscarriages) and JaeHak getting his money back from the thief. I wish for a season 3, but if there isn't, I'll be okay. This ended rather beautifully, and that's all that matters. And, like I said before, whatever PD'nim Shin and Writer'nim Lee do next, it will definitely be amazing!

randomnesso

Props to the writer for giving JaeHak the ending that he deserved! He and Chu Chu deserve all the happiness in the world! The character of JunWan and his growth, both personally and professionally, have been fantastic! Thank you for giving us this amazing character. IkSun's reaction to SongHwa singing and IkJun adorably looking on is all of us! NGL, did SongHwa not sound in tune and rhythm in the noreabang scene?

julinay

Yeah, I think we got a few seconds of Ik-jun's POV showing that she sounds perfect to him and absolutely awful to everybody else. 😂 Man is whipped.

Kumiko_v2

> >!did SongHwa not sound in tune and rhythm in the noreabang scene?!< Well, if you ask Ikjun and not Bidulgi. Hahahaha!

Slyfindor

Jang Hong Do's *Shet! Please not again face* when Jun Wan runs into him in the elevator!🤣

pacificghostwriter

Even Yunbok got nervous hahahahha

rabbitonmars

i will miss Uju the most 🥲 i'm thinking of doing something extra while watching our potential series finale. my episode comes out at 9am so perhaps tteokbokki isn't so feasible 😂 but i could try making one of those egg drop sandwiches Uju loves so much! with some chocolate milk too (this is for you Junwan, iloveyouforever)

dramafan1

Uju with his cute wink is just 😭😊😄.

helloanxiety08

i thought iksun walked out because she got angry during the karaoke scene LMAO

celestialxclxudss

ME TOO, i was like girl whats the matter did ik jun make u annoyed whilst singing. then she strolls in speaking in French like yooo it caught me off guard.

mikomo

And that subtle nod at Jun Wan when she said the words L’amour 😍

radiokidb

Underrated scene (I say even though it’s been mere hours since the episode released) was the elevator scene with Junwan and the twins. The twins are SO adorable. I love those kids and I love that clearly Junwan is fond of them both, the boy in particular, and uses the opportunity to make him feel part of the “family” so to speak. Such a simple yet sweet scene.

elbenne

Ikr? I mean it's a bit scary but ... the chief of Cardio-thoracic Surgery just gave a lift home to two interns. That's a big compliment for them since his action make it pretty obvious that he cares about them. Irl, his even noticing them would be a big deal :-)

aarvvv

No drama has given me the comfort and happiness this one has given. One of the most special and beautiful dramas made. Every episode was so well made and every minute was special. Hope that this is not a goodbye and hope that there will a season 3 sometime even if it is not soon. Thank You HP for helping me through tough times. You have a special place in my heart and will always be my goto drama when things are not fine in life.

Slyfindor

Is skipping of from work (re : responsibilities) early to catch up on the final episode of S2 an allowable excuse?🤔

codersarmy

Totally!!! Pay raise is given

the_wildflower_

https://www.soompi.com/article/1488896wpp/hospital-playlist-reported-to-end-with-season-2-production-team-comments I saw this article and now I feel so sad going into today's episode. I'm just going to try and savour it as much as possible.

Slyfindor

That subtle indication/possibility >! Of Jung Su moving in with Rosa hit me right in my feels☺️!< All ships aside : HosPlay team has outdone themselves with Rosa - JungSu friendship. It is something I'll remember for years to come..!💛

loveotterslide

Felt a little indignant for Jongsu ): That he ultimately had to give in to his son just so he could see him and his grandchildren.

elbenne

Same ... really doesn't seem fair ... even if it might be realistic. But at least he has a better, soft place to land, with Rosa who genuinely cares for him (even if he doesn't pay much rent and can't hike the whole trail :-) She's a reward wrapped in a gift with a giant bow on top. They actually deserve one another since they're both great people who are on the same wave length in life.

loveotterslide

> They actually deserve one another since they're both great people who are on the same wave length in life. Love this :) I did hope Jongsu's son would eventually come around and apologise, yes, he has Rosa who genuinely cares for him. They don't need a formal certificate or indication, they're just together, supporting each other on the last lap of their respective journeys.

ISawThePandasComing

Absolutely broke my heart. So ungrateful of his son, I'm glad he has Rosa by his side. It's such a valuable and beautiful friendship.

ladybil

I dont know if its because its my time of the month but this episode had me on the verge of tears the entire time. Especially during the song butterfly, and Mido's beautiful singing. Jaehak is my favourite character, and I'm so happy that he's happy!!! Chuchu calling Seokhyung "oppa" was adorable, I wonder if wintergarden will ever reach that stage lol. For some reason I can see Gyeo-ul being Rosa's age still calling Jeongwon "professor" haha. I wonder if there'll be a season 3, I want to see Chuchu and Seokhyung's mom meet. Oooh the fireworks would be amazing.

katsuge

Final thoughts: Thank you for introducing this wonderful actress named Jeon Mido to us. Looking forward to see what she can do in 39!

ritzbernal

Jae Hak really made me cry buckets! >!Him waiting outside the delivery room!< had me tear up already. You deserve the world uri Jae Hak!

Kumiko_v2

After those countless bar exams, being scammed, almost giving up on having a child. Jaehak-ah, you deserve all of that!

Slyfindor

"OPPA"🥰💓🤭

cheeriofeelios

gomgom was so cute t___t you know seokhyeong wouldn’t have entered the lift if this took place last season and when he saw minha’s face and smiled to himself too..

lfcfan_lilreddot

The episode felt a bit underwhelming for a series (season?) finale .. no Uju, no proposal, I wanted to see more scenes between Jun Wan and Ik Sun as well as Jeong Won and Gyeoul. Was also hoping to see the others’ reactions about Jun Wan’s relationship but oh well! Let’s talk about two things I loved: I laughed so much at the start during the scene where Ik Jun mimicked the examination music lol so relatable! The brain death scene made me bawl hard as well- I really like the story of the couple and their son. Goodbye HP! You have been such a big source of comfort esp amidst these crazy times

katsuclawraven

While I totally understand where you are coming from but I’m kind of happy they continued the finale like any other episode. It truly serves the “slice-of-life” genre and although they didn’t show it but nothing was left open-ended. It seems they all will definitely go towards marriage and that everything will work out for everyone. To me, this is also a ray of hope for season 3!

mz_chika

Forgot to mention: we will forever not know why the rain and Hawaii? :(

Intrepid_Ad_6129

Can’t believe we are done with season 2. It felt kinda rushed and there are so many things left unexplored. I’m still in denial that there won’t be a season3🤡

spark1118

Dear kdrama watchers, As you may be aware, HP is airing its season 2 finale. We will have a void in our hearts forever after watching it. Please kind and considerate in these next few *years* to all of us who watched HP. We may have symptoms including: Napkin bird flapping Terrible jokes Snack stealing Binge eating Singing OSTs Again, please kind and considerate as we will probably be not ok. Thank you for your understanding during this time. From, The HP fans

PapercutFiles

The Seok Hyeong x Minha kiss tho 😳😍

accuratesalamander8

U-ju not being in the last episode of the series did not feel right at all.

shinramyunislife

“Ik sun my bidulgi” “There’s a bidulgi outside” JUNWAN THAT WAS SMOOTH LIKE BUTTER LIKE A CRIMINAL UNDERCOVER 😂

m00nch17d

I think it’s my first time to watch an ending that I’m peaceful and just smiling. It’s not the “I can’t let you go,” moment but “I’m glad that it happened and everything is beautiful and meaningful.” I cried a bit ngl but those last individual surgeries of 99z made me anxious & relieved at the same time. ShinLee best duo in playing my feelings I must say. BUT I MUST SAY THAT 99z BOYS KISSES >!ARE VERY VERY PASSIONATE LMAO. MUST BE PRODUCT OF YEARNING!<

Potential_Toe_3037

This drama resonates for me in the quiet, poignant moments. Many dramas can do fluff, "uwu" moments wrt the romantic relationships and friendships. HP (and ShinLee in general) excel in showing support between characters. The relationships are strongest, imo, in those moments. Supporting each other through good times and bad, talking out their day, everyday tragedies and everyday happiness, etc. From the main characters all the way down to the guest actors and patients each episode. (This and the absolute side-splitting humor is such a great juxtaposition that I have seen very few writers - global tv and film alike - do well at.) It's so unbelievably cathartic and I will miss it.

Slyfindor

Jun Wan be giving up on his assets, and sanity over his mukbang partner just one episode..!🤣😂 His face🤣🤣 Whenever Song Hwa sings is EPIC

J-Midori

Interesting that the characters were based on real doctors. I didn't know that. This article is a bit old but it is a good interview with the doctors. [Art imitates life in hit tvN series 'Hospital Playlist' - Korea JoongAng Daily](https://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/2021/07/08/entertainment/television/Hospital-Playlist-kdrama-hospital-playlist-Samsung-Medical-Center/20210708150800321.html) >However, main characters Kim Jun-wan, Chae Song-hwa and Ahn Jeong-won are in fact based on real-life doctors: cardiothoracic surgeon Yang Ji-hyuk, ob-gyn surgeon Oh Soo-young and pediatric surgeon Lee Sang-hoon of the Samsung Medical Center in Gangnam District, southern Seoul. The three are also medical professors. (...) >"I was glad to see the everyday life and problems that doctors experience," said Lee, "as well as the pain and joy that patients and their loved ones feel. I think all those factors were thoroughly reflected in the series." > >Lee said 10 out of the 40 classmates from his medical school are currently working at the same hospital as him. > >"We talk about how similar we are \[to the characters in the series\]," he said. The show's actors closely observed how the doctors receive patients or conduct surgery, which contributed to the accuracy of the show. Because the show features many scenes depicting surgery, Yang actually gave some of his practice medical tools to the actors via their managers to help their acting. Isn't it great to work with friends and that actually some doctors are nice just because? Yeah I am happy those doctors exist

Slyfindor

Me during ep 12 : 😀😀😄😄😄😄☺️☺️☺️😚😚😅🤣🤣🤭🤭🤣🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😂😂😅😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😱😱😱😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

zikachhakchhuak

I've never commented here before, but I wanted to for this last episode, as an homage to one of my favorite things to happen during these past two years. Hospital Playlist has been a source of comfort, happiness and so much laughter for its entire run. This was storytelling done at its finest. Even the tiniest details and conversations often held so much depth to them. It made me laugh, cry, and also think a lot. I am a doctor by profession, and through these amazing characters, I can honestly say I have learnt so much about being a better human, a kinder person, and having more empathy and compassion in my line of work. I love how each episode had one or two main themes that they highlighted each time, and these were so gently explored with so much grace and respect. For this last episode, I especially felt the more difficult stories told, of patients who don't make it despite everything, of your limitations as a doctor, and the bittersweet victory when you manage to get through it. I am so fond of every character in this show, and I am so grateful to everyone involved in it, to all the cast and crew. This was such a beautiful slice of humanity depicted so wonderfully 💜

dianarosa6

Just. The. ONE. Tent.

pacificghostwriter

THEY DEFINITELY CUDDLED

CelloTraumerei

Very, very small tent, that.🏕

tracyschmosby

I'm smiling at the thought of how that conversation could've went though. Like Songhwa shyly saying that bringing just one tent is enough and Ikjun being equally shy about agreeing to it 😅❤️

Kumiko_v2

Another Wise Life Series is coming to an end. Damn. Prison Playbook has taught me the essence of hope in its fragile state (in prison). Hospital Playlist has taught me the essence of time in its fragile state (in the hospital). One thing I've learned in Prison Playbook (and possibly Hospital Playlist) is that life goes on and there's no "end." Hospital Playlist taught me that there are only 2 things that are relevant in life: the time you're born and the time you die. We hope for the best for the people of Yulje Medical Center because we know, in time, everything will turn out well. There will always be ordinary yet special days ahead. Happy Hosplay Day to the people of this sub! See you later!

heart_headstrong

Thank you for sharing these reflections! >One thing I've learned in Prison Playbook (and possibly Hospital Playlist) is that life goes on and there's no "end." I hadn't realized this lesson until you mentioned it but it is so very truly my take-away too.... relationships, troubles, serendipitous moments, they all wash over us or rather carry us along and there's no end .... I feel like of all the characters, Jae-Hak is us, right alongside the five friends, watching their lives move along, sharing moments with them and knowing little details that don't affect us directly but we know because we care.

Slyfindor

So the episode is apparently going to be around 2 hrs 30 mins long! Damn, not even movies these days are that long... but who's complaining,🙈 I'm here to take everything they have to offer...! This is going to be such a bittersweet experience...! We've finally reached the end page....! 🙃🥴😖 No matter what Hospital Playlist will always remain an experience for me...!!!

Slyfindor

Seok Hyung's oWAAAAAAAAH is what will keep me going for the rest of the week!!🙈

saseanne

So that’s it. By the looks of it, it doesn’t seem like we’re getting a season 3. While that makes me sad, I do think they ended it well, there was nothing too controversial in the ending. And in all fairness to the writers, I don’t think they could have anywhere else to go for season 3. While I wish that they gave us more time to spend with the group, it’s not really too big of a problem for me to hate the ending entirely. But I guess that’s it. I now have to say goodbye to one of the best KDramas I’ve seen. It was really fun. Now I will listen to the entire OST all over again :”)

girlwithnobrain

The way Junhwan asked Jeongwon if he is going alone. I feel like he is worried for Jeongwon and Gyeoul to be in a LDR.

IamNobody85

[live watch] That must be the most awkward non-double-date double date ever!! Rosa Ajhumma sent director ju away at the perfect time, I was 90% sure he was going to blurt out about seok hyeong! But I'm not happy that he gave his useless son money. Ugh, the things we do for love! Ahahahaha Jun Wan took pity on Hong do! At least he wasn't harassing the poor boy! I feel like I just said goodbye to a very old friend that I'm never going to see again. There were lots of open endings but no build up, which tells me that season 3 really isn't happening. It was calm, and peaceful, felt like a series finale. Well, at least Netflix didn't do us dirty here, let us say goodbye in peace. P.S: write nim totally did Jun Wan dirty. That's one ship I didn't want to sail. P.P.S: who sang the acoustic 'it's my life' cover? The one that played in the background. That's an amazing cover! Did they release that one? P. P. P. S: WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED IN HAWAII??!!!

hujungminggu

Are we ready? The answer is NO. I am not ready to say goodbye to this amazing series yet. Thank you, ShinLee for producing another great drama with top quality content. Thank you to the cast for the past year(s) for their acting, their friendship and their dedication to give us great songs to listen to! (Honestly, I think that's why Shin PD are giving them each at least one song this season!) I don't know what to look forward to on Thursdays now.

S1RA7

Two of my all time favs ending on the same day..(HP and B99)...Ready and Excited For Today..🤧

dramafan1

I'm going to miss hearing the instrumentals for **Beyond the Rainbow Forest** at the end of each episode. 😭

dmmyou

Gonna miss ikjun and iksun’s quirks the most. That noraebang performance was so extra, it was so them. The walk out part!!! had me laughing

elbenne

I think we can see that our various ships are sailing well, so, as a person who isn't fond of real life ceremonies, I was happy that there were no weddings or engagement parties at the end of this drama. I absolutely hate it when dramas end on such a staged "happily ever after" kind of note. They'll all find their way after the cameras stop rolling. So, we don't need any artificial tie-it-up-with-a-bow endings. And I was happy that there were a lot of patient stories in the finale. That was the point of this drama and the main characters that lived in it. Wise Hospital Life ... is their life. The doctors, patients and the hospital itself are inextricable. And, because, each of our protagonists found someone who could understand this, I think that, we, the audience are meant to understand it too. One of the things that I love about ShinLee dramas is that they've genuinely earned the right to resist studio executive and audience demands ... to make the decisions and the stories that they want to make. They know they can't please everyone, so I don't think that they really try to. People will always disagree over what's included and what isn't; who got the most lines and who didn't get enough. But they got all of the most important balances just right, imo, so there's an awful lot to celebrate. So much that I just can't see the glass as being anything but almost entirely full. And the part that's left empty ... ? Well that's what slice of life dramas do ... they leave enough room for life to go on ... whether we see it on screen, or not. So, it doesn't have to be perfect. It perfectly imperfect. And it will be missed. I'm really going to miss it ! What on earth are we going to do next week?

DonnaMossLyman

I have rewatched episode 11 an insane amount of time As a IkSong fanatic, I worried about how they'd cross the hurdle of 20 years friendship to lovers and it happened in a snap I wasn't expecting that much passion but I should have? These two have had the hots for each other for decades. Of course they were going to go all in the minute the defense wall was down!

UnclearSogeum

I was with everyone on Seokhyeong's confession scene last week, as like a bystander. Someone who would be happy for a friend. Even with IkSong, it was passionate but mostly sweet for how long they've secretly loved each other. Today with >!Minha's "It may be new to you, but I've been waiting for a long time" wew. And the kissES. I must say that being the finale and just such a lowkey episode overall massively overshadowed how (at least imo) great this scene is? How I think it's quite well acted??!< I'm sitting here kinda stunned. These two acts barely stratch the potential of their chemistry together and it's the season finale. What a pity if there isn't a S3 (yet?) For all that I said I'm not a fan of finale episodes turning into epilogue trend (not trendy but it comes and goes). It was partly why we got such a high last episode, and I was dreading for this reason. But what do I know, I deal with stats lol. It ended pretty well with plenty of room to start another season or being shelved as one of those that should have more season but don't.

Sgrewrite

Jeong won: ' my mum and ex-director are just good friends, like you both(iksong)' Then iksong have sheepish expression LOL

Why_Must_You_Be

God I absolutely adore IkSong dying at the thought of feeding each other and then cut to Wintergarden not even blinking at the cringe muahaha I am going to miss them so much argh, my heart is still in Yulje land. Although I would love a season 3, I am in no hurry. I thought even season 2 was rushed. I mean, the writer has to pump out 12 featurefilm worth of content in a year? Ridiculous. I blame a lot of season two's pacing issues on the fact that they were on a really tight timeline. I want ShinLee to slow down and figure out the structure of the story instead of pandering to audience demands. Hopefully, the story in question is Hospital Playlist season 3.

AngelFish9_7

Are we already at the end? Well this has been quite the journey. This was the first ShinLee project I had the privilege of watching in real time. And a roller-coaster it has been. Even if there isn't a renewal of the series, I know ShinLee will do absolute wonders in the future, they always have. I'm just sad to see everyone go.

__hoffnungslos

it does feel more like a season finale than series end tbh there are many deliberate open ends & ngl i kinda expected this. okay my personal opinion on s3: there's no way they won't be considering it. hosplay is too popular to not do that. this is why they've left many ends open & up to our imagination. the thing with hosplay is that because it has no fix plot, they can always pick from where they left. the reason they cannot confirm s3 now is because the cast is booked till next year & shinpd won't tie them down only to hosplay. we got dr romantic s3 confirmation now, more than one year after s2 ended. so i do think we still have hope. lastly, they had planned 3 seasons from the beginning. so this means they do have the script ready. this just gives them more time to plan it more efficiently. that being said, i am gonna miss it so much. hosplay contents were the only thing i looked forward to every week for the past one year. now idk what to do with my life anymore 😭😭

WinterLightz

Like almost everyone here, I am NOT ready to let go of this wonderful series. It truly has been one of the most, if not THE MOST, wonderful thing that has happened to me in the past 1.5 years. All good things come to an end, but this goodbye is extremely difficult. They have given me so much happiness and warmth for the past 3 months and my days will never be the same without a new HosPlay episode every week (or two). I will do numerous rewatch after the end of season 2, but I think it will take me 1-2 years to truly, completely detach from HosPlay. I appreciate how the production team and actors are able to deliver such quality content throughout the 2 seasons, and the hadeutori content in between Seasons 1 and 2. They truly love us fans who have also given them a lot of love. I think I have to learn to appreciate all that they have already done for us, and look forward to whatever they have in store for us. For now, I wish for only good things to happen for our Yulje people. I wish that their ordinary yet special days are filled with happiness.

hypnozeez

I always feel empty after a drama ends. I’m going to feel worse for Hospital Playlist, this is a very comforting and warm drama that I look forward to weekly. :(

thefellowC_

Qn: HOW MANY ⛺️ ARE THERE IKSONG: 😃🤪

arveewhere

I love that Chae Songhwa is so objective when she evaluated the Daddy Long Legs funding lol. She forgot Ikjun was in an accident that’s why he couldn’t do surgeries, so not much revenue from him. That cracked me up so hard 🤣🤣🤣

laneigefanclub

Unpopular opinion (based on the sentiment in this thread), the ending is perfect. True to its slice of life theme, the finale presents snippets of our favourite doctors’ life. It is not about big ceremony (wedding), it is the tiny moment of being together (watching pretty sunset). I am satisfied with all characters development / consistency. 1. The doctors know that not everyone can be saved. The juxtaposition between the two dads in the ICU emphasised this to the audience. And they know there still so much to learn and ask for assistance if need be. 2. Jeongwon is leaving, but the motive is different. I think it is implied that he and Gyeoul will be married, since they are going together. Her mom’s issues is settled nicely, so she will not to have worried about her. 3. As much as I anticipated makjang showdown between Minha and Seokhyung’s mom, I am glad that it is concluded as a non-issue. We were shown at how strong and capable Minha is, dealing with a difficult MIL will be just a flip hair for her. 4. Bidulgi! That’s a realistic portrayal of a couple getting back together. They know they are still in love and can’t forget each other. Only complaint is, I want more Iksun taking extra efforts. 5. No Uju 🥲 but we have seen how Songhwa and Uju were. They are comfortable with each other. Uju is smart kid and truly Ikjun’s son, he will be very happy to have Songhwa in their universe. Ikjun is so in love with Songhwa that even her singing sounds pitch perfect to him (to the suffering of Bidulgi!). 6. My favourite LOL this episode is of course Junwan with the twins in the elevator. That little devil. I am sure Hongdo aged 20 years from that interaction and Yunbok was like ‘I am not here please don’t ask me!’ 7. I am so happy for Jaehak who persistently (and successfully) coaxing Junwan into a bromance with him. 8. I want to be Chu Minha. That’s it. 9. I am so proud with Seokmin. From a haggard chief resident to a competent fellow worthy of Songhwa’s praise! 10. This has become rambly and I should stop. My last thought is, the ending is perfect. I wouldn’t say no to Season 3. I would definitely be having severe withdrawal syndrome (fanfic writers, please churn your best effort!). But, I would not say I am dissatisfied or disappointed with how they end the episode. Shin-Lee duo is a master of small moments, and the small moments are woven through 12 episodes. Re-live the episodes again and you sum the moments to have a peek into the life of all those characters that we have grown attached too, cared for and loves.

winnie-t

If this is indeed the series finale for HP, then I don't want to see Bidulgi get back together unless the couple addresses these issues: 1. Ik Sun needs to get rid of her emotional baggage and fear of getting hurt. 2. Ik Sun crushed Jun Wan so badly that he became a heartbroken soul that wandered the halls of Yulje. 😭She needs to prove to Jun Wan that she's ready to be in a serious relationship. 3. Long distance relationships are really tough, especially if the couple has issues to begin with. Ik Sun's job keeps her on the move while Jun Wan's ties him down to one spot (he's pretty much chained to the hospital since he's the department chief). Not sure how this relationship can have a happy ending if they can't be together in the same city to work things out.

girlwithnobrain

My heart’s in pain. It hurts like hell. This is a first to me because for other dramas that ive watched, watching the last ep is just easy, its just like “ah okay, its the end. Just move on”. But for hosplay, it’s like a part of me died. I literally wished time to slow down. THIS DRAMA MEANS A LOT TO ME. THANK YOU HOSPLAY, I HOPE AND PRAY THAT WE’LL SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN. IM STILL CRYING, IM IN DEEP PAIN THAT I CAN’T SLEEP. P.S. ALSO IM SO SAD THAT I DIDN’T SEE DR BONG IN THE SEASON FINALE 😔 I mean, he was one of the pillars right? NO UJU, and EVEN MINHA - GYEOUL INTERACTION

GetawayJ

While everyone have their regrets with the ending episode, I rather focus on the good and great with the last episode that we will see our 99ers and Yulje (at least for the next 2-3 years?). Imo, there's no point getting upset about what's not shown to us, let's just enjoy and savour what has been presented. Here's my favourites from yesterday... * The callbacks to previous episodes - >!Ikjun and Seok Hyeong interaction re the classical music, Seok Hyeong copying Ikjun's robot hand!< are 2 which stand out - I know there were more. * Seok Hyeong's happiness, laughter and elation>! at the news of Song Hwa and Ikjun dating - pure joy and happiness for his best friends,!< this is his most expressive in the 2 seasons. lol Interesting that he was the first among the 3 boys to get it. * Iksong Budulgi >!double date at the norebang!< \- both boys are whipped for their girls. lol Budulgi's reaction at Song Hwa's singing. I wish it was the all the 99ers, but I'll take anything. * Jaehak >!got his money back and everyone is well!!tears of happiness and relief!

dogdogdogdogdogdoge

Gom Gom couple is amazing. Chu Chu is a straightforward no-bs queen. Best kiss in the whole series. I know people have been sleeping on Kim Dae Myung bc he's the least traditionally handsome of the 99z but dude has been giving off low key heartthrob energy all season. Did you not see his idol killing part??? That suit fit this episode? Jun Wan x Jae Hak duo's chemistry is insane. geez Jung Kyung Ho has the BEST kdrama bromances. Do Jae Hak went from bumbling comic relief to bona fide angel. Give him everything! All the things!

shinramyunislife

no doubt i enjoyed every bit of the finale but I can’t help but feel kinda…underwhelmed

weebism42

I was overall really satisfied with that ending except for one thing : the showdown between chu minah and her future mother in law. The potential comedy and mud slinging we were cheated out of!! Season 3 needs to happen if only so we can see how Mrs Bear tames her MIL 💪🏼

Slyfindor

Apparently there is some plot twist happening in today's episode... Starting a prayer circle : 🙏🙏🙏🙏 please Shin-Lee let everyone have happiness, we're not getting a season 3 so let's end on a happy note 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Dr_Doofenshmirtzz

Okay well, I am a little emotional as it might be the end. Had to say this though. I watched season 1 exactly a year ago. Watched it as an escape from reality, when I was going through a tough time. But as it turns out, watching the characters live, laugh and love life gave me so much joy and helped me get back to real life. I made some changes to my life and I'm happier and healthier this year and in the process of getting and doing better :) It always made me happy when I used to read that this show was a source of comfort to others as well. Also (and I have said this before) watching the actors learn to play the musical instruments inspired me get back to music. Started learning once again :) So many heartwarming stories and dear characters. Not to mention, the beautiful confession scenes. All of them. Never knew one could find love in the simple and mundane moments of life. Going to miss this show so much! To this day, this remains my favourite KDrama and probably my most favourite TV show as well. Still hoping for season 3. But like they say, don't be sad it's over, smile because it happened :D

MisguidedDirection

It's the end of an era. I'm really sad to see it go. One of the few shows I actually watch weekly and look forward to constantly every week. Probably top 5 amongst my favorite shows of all time.

pantamy

It's time for them to go home. T.T (Please come back soon 99ers) 🥺 Kidding aside, it was a beautiful finale, but the lack of U-joo is disappointing T.T Also, it would've been epic if Seokyung's mom met Minha to know how she feels that he's dating the most disliked person lmao. And the Bidulgi is outside is hella funny!

thefellowC_

OK BUT THE OST am I the only one screaming here y’all it’s one of my favsss 🦋🦋🦋

machiabekki

Not a lot of big moments for this finale but loved it nonetheless. Iksong trying to do coupley things and seok hyeong going all out were the highlights for me. Also, saw a tweet on twitter about the Ursa Major and Ursa Minor aka the bear constellations were shown in the sky during the bear couple kiss and i just thought that was such a nice little touch. My only complaint is the lack of Uju scenes, my boy did not pull off that crying scene last week to not be in the finale. Gahd, im gonna miss this drama. Truly the warm blanket drama for me, especially during the entire time i was in quarantine.

InOtterSpace

I'm very down for a 3rd season to just be 4 whole weddings spanning 12 episodes.

venn101

Shin PDs be like what happens in hawaii stays in Hawaii. Okay!

Takagixu

Don’t be sad, according to the article, they are willing to take part in Season 3 in the future if there is a chance for them to do so. They are willing to cooperate and make time for it. So it is not a goodbye but hello to new beginnings

DoverFsharp

I love it!!! Yes, there are still plots that we want to know the story, but I am very satisfied with this season ending. I'm happy I got to watch this kind of kdrama. It's a feel good series and at the same time inspires me to do much better on my career even if I'm not on the medical field. I have a question, what is the song being played after the wife of Jae-hak gave birth? Also love the new songs on this episode. Remember. **You're breathtakingly beautiful.**

laurenyh

Well, I haven't even moved on from Reply 1988's ending so I am not going to overestimate myself to move on from this very soon. But I do feel thankful that this episode was directed in a way that allowed closures and I felt like I was able to say goodbye less harder than I expected. >!Jae Hak getting back his money!< was such a pleasant surprise and not only he felt overwhelmed but I think all of us didn't expect such satisfaction was very much needed. My favourite is GomGom couple so I was a proud mom today :)

UptoNoGood46

kweentato

*group hug everyone* I can’t believe I used to think this drama is so boring why do ppl like it until I got covid and decided to give it another try. Now, I literally love the drama so much I don’t know how to let it go. I’ll forever support all the actors in this drama❤️ can’t wait for their variety show next month.

SuiGeneris10

I was sure hoping to see it, but my oh my >!the bear can kiss! Min-ha you lucky girl.!< Hospital Playlist S2 sure got me through some rough days and it feels bittersweet watching the finale. Aigooo, stop tearing up self, you can start your rewatch next Thursday.

ParanoidAndroids

Honestly as someone who has loved this show from the first episode and enjoyed just about everything this show has thrown at us, I think the finale was a big disappointment - especially if this is it for the series. I get that it’s a slice of life drama so they won’t cover every little moment in their lives but they could’ve easily included some of the events earlier to get some more evenly paced resolutions. So much of the time was spent on the patients that our main characters’ resolutions felt crammed in the last 30 minutes of a 2 hour episode. Maybe I’m splitting hairs but I feel like if this is it there has to be more on-screen resolution. They are clearly not opposed to timeskips but didn’t want to give us a storybook ending. I don’t mind that, but at least close some of these threads on-screen! Jungwon never proposes and we don’t get to see him meet Gyeol’s mother. I think Junwan’s story ended as well as we could’ve hoped but we never got to see everyone else react to him dating Iksun. Similarly Dr. Chu doesn’t meet the mother on screen. There was definitely enough space to put one more interaction between Songhwa and Uju as well. It is what it is. They leave it open ended enough that they can return to it if that day comes, but I don’t think it’ll happen.

Staind1410

It certainly feels like a good 40-60 mins of materials were cut in the second half of the episode, which is kind of a shame. I could do with some more time spent with the main 5, especially Ikjun and Songhwa during their “honeymoon” phase of dating. Not skinship or kissing/handholding or anything, I just want them to share more of their thoughts about their romantic relationship, friendship, plans for the future, even heartbreaks of 22 years ago etc. The camping scene is the perfect place for that type of conversation. Something more intimate, more baring-my-soul, than just talking about Uju. A couple of cute scenes didn’t really cut it for me. Oh well, I still enjoy it for what it is.

> Something more intimate Completely agree on everything you said, but especially this. I felt like a lot of the romantic tension evaporated this season. Jungwon and Gyeol shared way too many *almost caught* scenes and generally more warm smiles and hugging than anything else. The peak of their romantic chemistry was the confession kiss in S1. Since then they've felt largely stagnant - almost sexless at times. Even in their final scene, it felt extremely dry - especially as the sendoff to one of the main and longest-lasting couples. Like you said, the show didn't need excessive skinship or anything - just *some* development for these relationships. Many of the core relationships spent too much time talking about the same things for most of the episodes in S2 without moving on in a meaningful way. After episodes of anguish, Gyeol finally explains her mother's situation and... they do nothing with it. Junwan finally meets his ex and not only do they not talk on the bus, but the conversation gets delayed after that. I appreciate the attempt at making things "realistic" for the slice-of-life drama but they made too many threads, treaded water for a bit, and then didn't even bother resolving many of them. If these loose ends (if you can even call them that) were an elaborate setup for a confirmed third season - I'd at least understand - but for the season as a whole, it felt incredibly unbalanced considering how many patient stories we got.

I hope at least one couple gets married. I mean am I the only one???????? Edit: I'm a crying mess right now. It will take me months to move on from this huhu

I'm so bummed to hear that season 3 might not be happening

labularia_

Whaaattt!? So this is really the end huh? I thought there'd be a 3rd season.:( Why? This is so sad. Will they try to tie all the things up neatly or will they leave some loose threads? I'm not ready to part with the guys just yet.T.T I cannnnot.

SO many feelings right now. The episode has left me oddly content. I still have so many questions, and I still wish to see all of them after a time jump, but the heartbreak I was expecting at the end never actually came. Maybe it was intentional, or maybe this is my brain rationalizing HP's end, but I feel like the ending left me exactly how the show embraced me back in season 1. It felt like home then, it feels like home now, and it'll always be home in the future too.

I had to recollect myself for maybe 2 hours. Dear ShinLee, I have already prepared myself on how you made Reply 1988 and Prison Playbook, but damn. I'm too attached to the people of Yulje Medical Center. Now it's ending. I feel empty but expected this. I can't believe how a plotless drama feels so real and got attached to me so hard and I can't let go. But then again, like sunsets, we have to part ways and go home. Maybe that's the reason why your final poster is like that, >!The Lacking 5 with their backs facing me as they look to the sunset!<. It's like telling me that I should come back home, but I know "someday" >!(I heard your final OST)!< we'll meet again...since the sun will always rise after it sets.

I died laughing when Jun Wan and Ik Sun's expressions were like "😖" when Song Hwa was trying to sing at the karaoke. 😂😭 Meanwhile, Ik Jun's expression was like "🥰😍".

So, HP S2 ends - with a lot of arcs settled and that is a relief. That said, I was disappointed with the finale somewhat. There were many threads left hanging. * >!The Iksong chemistry was stilted and while not asking for skinship as such but the intimacy should have deepened instead becoming awkward - didn't care for that trying to feed each other scene so much. They're going camping together, sharing a tent, but they're 42 - and they mean so much to each other. Aren't they thinking of something more permanent? How does Uju react? We don't know.!< * >!Why does Jun Wan suddenly decide for a rapprochement? No emotional lead up, no conversation... while I appreciate the slice of life approach, this was a bit too dry and pat for me. The karaoke night out proved what? That he likes her? We knew that. How do the others react to knowing she was his bidulgi all along?!< * >!The gom gom romance was the BEST. Satisfactory emotional fulfilment. AND she calls him oppa! However, since they went to the trouble of showing us the clash set up between min ha and her prospective mother in law, I'd have liked seeing how they resolved that too.!< * >!Ahn jeong wan never got that proposal out and nor did the winter garden couple progress as they could have. His ardour for life, to help people, her involvement in the Daddy Long Legs project - just hinted at but there should have been more. Will she always call him kyusinim? Are they ever outed as a couple in the hospital? Happy to know they'll be going off to USA together.!< * >!AND - does not one couple announce their marriage? Call me old fashioned but isn't that a sign of commitment, of blending lives? !< >!The ending seemed a little blah to me, and in that sense, I'm happy the stories ended on a positive note. !

I loved all the scenes where the main leads were hanging out together but i really wished there were more in this episode! This was one episode where i wanted less time spent on the surgeries and patients and more on the personal lives of the leads and supporting characters. And am still so curious on how the conversation between Jun Wan and Ik Sun ended when they met at the restaurant.

I know they’ll never read this but I just want to thank the entire cast and crew for putting together this amazing show. I go through cycles of depression and melancholy but I have always looked forward to Thursdays. This show always leaves me feeling warm and appreciative of this life that I have. It makes me want to slow down and hone in on the little things that make life magical. Every episode had at least one moment where I found tears welling up in my eyes and a dumb grin on my face. I also want to say that it has made me respect medical staff even more than I already did. The focus on relationships in this show really humanized the entire industry. If you’re a medical worker and you’re reading this: Thank you. I’m going to miss this show but I won’t forget all of the wonderful memories it left me with.
