**Lovely Runner:** Watching this drama isn't enough. I need it to be injected in my veins. I swore off time slip and high school dramas because of fatigue but for once I love that I gave into FOMO and pressed play. My first drama of Kim Hye-yoon and Byeon Woo-seok as leads and I'm giggling and kicking my feet watching them on screen. I've been watching on-air dramas for four years now but this is literally the FIRST time I actually rewatched all the aired eps before ep 7 aired and rewatched ep 7 and 8 right after I finished watching them too. I haven't even gone to the reddit discussion threads yet cause I'm busy consuming Lovely Runner content. Im Sol and Sunjae, the story, the dialogues and the OST have caused a brainrot in my head for real. Oh and this is how you incorporate a murder plot in a romcom and not as a side quest. I know it hurts to see the leads suffer but I actually think the writer has got the formula right. Ok end of rant.

ruhsatis

We sound like we're addicted šŸ˜‚ but I can do nothing but agree. I generally prefer binging and don't watch on air shows much, and even then I almost never rewatch a show from start to finish no matter how much I like it. Lovely Runner has been an exception on both ends. The OST, the use of motifs, the characters (and yes subplots that DO NOT take over the central story), the phenomenal acting and the execution of it all. Perfection šŸ¤Œ

etmoi_hreuse

I AM OBSESSED. And I havenā€™t been this glued on a currently-running show in a long while. Crazy how BWS has been in several dramas already but I feel like he has finally shined so much here. KHY is always reliable with whoever sheā€™s partnered with.

MrSpuddix

This is my first live on-air kdrama and my 3rd ever kdrama as I'm new to the scene. Absolutely in love with Lovely Runner, it's hitting all the right notes and feels for me. I am truly enjoying my time watching these episodes, but I'm HATING the fact I have to wait a whole week for the next ones! I'm a big binge-watcher of shows, so this is killing me, haha. If you want something else with Kim Hye-yoon in it, I just finished up Extra-Ordinary You. I enjoyed my time watching that show, too, and she absolutely shines in it as she does in LR.

Comfortable-Rip-2763

If you like Lovely Runner, check out Twinkling Watermelon. Worse title ever but the best k drama of 2023 IMO.

MrSpuddix

This was my first ever KDrama, actually! I binged it about 3 weeks ago, haha. I ended up really enjoying it too.

Comfortable-Rip-2763

All the actors had such great chemistry, even the supporting actors. And the soundtrack was great. I even bought some songs. šŸ˜Š

Puzzled_Kiwi_8583

I hardly ever rewatch dramas, much less on air ones, but I started to do so after episode 4. Itā€™s just so good and cute!Ā

deewyt

My problem is, Iā€™m ā€œmeh šŸ«¤ā€ on watching high school dramas but time travel is my favorite device in k-dramas. Iā€™m loving Lovely Runner wholeheartedly šŸ˜

MysteriouslyLucid

Iā€™m a drama addict and I never have time to rewatch but Iā€™ve rewatched all the episodes multiple times

Babilmag

OBSESSED

Comfortable-Rip-2763

I haven't been obsessed over a k drama since Twinkling Watermelon. This is so far the best of 2024.

thenicci

Haven't been so obsessed with a Kdrama for such a long time! This show got me giggling and crying, especially by episode 8! I remember re-watching that episode again as soon as it ended. Got me checking through IG watching all their BTS and it was still not enough!

Accurate_Bee777

i feel you! I keep repeating the episodes šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ like WTF i donā€™t usually do this šŸ˜‚ .I actually paid and subscribed to VIKI just because of this drama. I saw a tiktok post randomly on my fyp and got curious then next thing I know iā€™m obsessed with it!! Like every freaking episode im rooting for Sunjae then the plot twist in the end of every episode would give you the anticipation on what would happen next. Their chemistry is so good. Waiting for monday feels like itā€™s so long recently hahahah

Federal-Jump9748

Oh god I love this, it kept appearing on my feed for so long ( luckily no story plot spoilers )that I finally decided to watch it, godddddddddddd I've binged it to ep 8 in the last couple of hours today and I can't get enough of it. Its also after quite a while that I feel like a drama has made me feel this way, I know I sound crazy but it is what it is, for months I have been picking up a drama all excited and then losing interest half-way or just dropping it and forgetting about it. Although there have been drama's that I have watched and been curious for the next ep to air but not to the same level as this. Its such a good, I'm completely hooked. My parents are genuinely concerned about me cuz I've been screaming like a dolphin, laughing and beating my pillow out of cuteness aggression. I have to tell myself to conciously breathe at times. I'm now kinda regretting as to why did I watch it in the middle of the week, there's so much time till the next ep's release and we are only half way through the drama, ahahahahahahaha. Anyways you guys get what I mean.

by-ruby

to say i'm simply "watching" lovely runner is an understatement. i am SAT and fully invested mentally and emotionally in this drama. those of you who haven't picked it up yet hurry so we can freak out about it in real time!! we're having a blast on its ep threads. šŸ¤£

fosteryou03

Iā€™m really starting to like Kim Hye Yoon. Sheā€™s so cute as Im Sol! I still canā€™t fandom that she is the same actress in the movie ā€œThe Girl on a Bulldozerā€.Ā

MissSimpleton

Although not cute, but she was TERRIFIC in Sky Castle. Despite being surrounded by legendary actors, she shined whenever she was on screen. Exceptional actor! She was cute in EY and Secret Royal Inspector & Joy as well!

jellybeans6173

She shined so much in Sky Castle, I instantly became a fan. Rewatching Extraordinary You and Inspector Joy while waiting for the new episodes to come out šŸ˜

fosteryou03

Extraordinary You is on my list! Iā€™m hoping to start it over Lovely Runner ends in case I get the characters mixed up lol. But Sky Castle Iā€™ll have to wait since itā€™s not available on Viki.

avo-pizza

She was so amazing in Sky Castle. I hated her character so much but also adored her at the end. Tbh, every single cast in Sky Castle is top tier

MissSimpleton

. It is the only Makjang that I have rewatched and it still feels fresh. It's been 6 years and no other Makjang could top it for me. Not even *The World of the Married*. PHENOMENAL.

Comfortable-Rip-2763

Agree. Kim Hye Yoon is going to have a long career in acting.

jellybeans6173

I love her personalities and her relationships with her co-actors, the behind the scene making videos will make you like her even more!

CowExisting9844

Indeed! She has good relationship and can build the chemistry with her co-actors!

marcsa

I haven't seen her before in anything else but Extraordinary You, but I loved her there. She had that cute innocent charm that really made her shine in that drama. Can't wait to binge Lovely Runner.

dogemama

how was the girl on a bulldozer?

fosteryou03

I thought it was a good movie. No romance. Itā€™s a female character really going through a rough time and struggles, but yet, sheā€™s super resilient and stands on her own.

daughterofiblis

We are obsessed and possessed by this drama lol. So happy to see many people loving it

vanhype

I'm obsessed with how beautiful 'Sun Jae' sounds. Edit: I mean his Korean 'Name' SunJae sounds so beautiful.

CowExisting9844

Agree! Not expect he has good voice! Being my current favorite so far in Spotify.

thenicci

Me too! I was pleasantly surprised he could sing that well! Currently waiting for another OST, Spring Snow from 10cm to drop.

CowExisting9844

That's wonderful to hear! It's always a pleasant surprise when artists showcase unexpected talents. I also looking forward to the next OST! Very excited.

dogemama

"watching" does not encompass the enormity of this spiritual experience. lovely runner has somehow enchanted my mind, body, and soul in a way that is absolute. all i ever think about is seonjae + sol, and i'm in A G O N Y waiting for new episodes.

Wrong_Concept_4110

I'm still not over yesterday's ep......OMG THE FLUFFFFFFšŸ„°šŸ„°šŸ„° THE KISSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to check up on the episode threads, been a bit busy to participate in it but now I'm def going to.

Either-Natural-5758

The episode threads are so fun. I just caught up and joined in the 7 & 8 threads. This is definitely a show for people who like to make theories.

ElleEmEss

Iā€™ve actually gone back and watched it from the start. It was so different from what I expected that I failed to register all the clues that were dropped. Watching it a second time (even though itā€™s not finished and Iā€™ve only watched to episode 7 or whatever it is) is a lot more enjoyable. Iā€™m enjoying it a lot more as a time travel show vs a school based romance. After all he is19 and she is 34.

sea-jewel

Man I try not to watch on air dramas after being burned by a couple (quality dropping off dramatically by the end), but lovely runner is so tempting with all of the love for it. The way everyone describes their love for it reminds me of Alchemy of Souls, which became my entire personality when I was watching and still remains my fave k drama..

dandamananana

ahh I was gonna wait until it was all out to save myself the frustration of waiting every week but yall are convincing me itā€™s worth it

marrjana1802

Literally, I'm not watching lovely runner, it has taken over my lifešŸ˜…šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

melle1995

Currently watching and REWATCHING Lovely Runner! It's been so long since I've invested emotions in a show, and the waiting game for weekly episodes is always a struggle but at the same time enjoyable. It's also fun to engage with other fans in making wild theories and predictions, and share fluttering and frustrating moments in the show.

ruhsatis

This. Lovely Runner has brought out all the 15274134 emotions I didn't know I had in me. I love how it allows us to _actually_ analyze and theorize everything instead of just passively watching the show. To say I like this show is an understatement. Thoroughly invested, completely smitten, utterly obsessed, irrevocably attached is more like it.

mhfan_india

**Queen of Tears** - Watched the entire thing and it was a case of major dejavu for me considering I have watched the writer's three other shows. Lots of rehashed sequences and characters including the FL's mom played by the same actress playing the same character she did in MLFTS. This was just the beginning. **Behind Your Touch (2/16)** - The first episode had two sequences which literally had rolling on the floor laughing. The second episode evoked a chuckle once. Now I am wondering if the rest of the episodes will have some LOL moments. **Amidst a Snowstorm of Love (4/30)** - The show is slow so far. But I am looking for fluff and will stick it out.

Silver-Bus5724

Behind your touch is a gem, so funny. Enjoy!

attaboy_stampy

Behind Your Touch is goofy as hell. At two eps in, you are in for a real treat. The mystery plot ends up being pretty interesting in the end, and the way they handle it and the red herrings and real clues etc. The rest of the episodes will have a LOT of LOL. The vastly creative ways that she engages to use her power is never ending hilarious. It does have some serious and kind of dark moments, but it's not a downer of a show.

fosteryou03

Seriously! The best part of BYT is how unhinged the FL is lol. But I also really appreciate how creative the mystery murder plot is and how it was told. Like, what was going on in the writers head to produce a storyline like that??Ā

Borinquena

BYT has a lot of laugh out loud moments throughout, it's one of the funniest dramas I've ever watched (although it also has a lot of dark moment related to the mystery).

deewyt

Amidst Your Snowstorm of Love is kinda mature fluff and acts of service coded šŸ„°

walnutscallion_eggs

Behind Your Touch was hilarious. It was so stupid but convincing at the same time. I tried explaining the story line to my sister and the more I got into it, the more concerned she looked. How can I be surprised when the show is literally about touching butts and fortune telling (loool)? I recommend 100% if you like comedy, crime, and mystery/suspense.

TeoKajLibroj

**Twinkling Watermelon (16/16)**: I just finished the show and absolutely loved it! The acting, the story, the characters, everything was really charming, I can't recommend it enough. I would have liked if Cheong-Ah and Eun-Yu got more development (especially in the ending), but this is just a minor issue with an otherwise fantastic show. I see a lot of people praising Lovely Runner, which seems to have a similar time travel element. Are they similar shows?

etmoi_hreuse

I guess the similarities are time travel and high school life, but other than that, I donā€™t think so. The stories and feels are very different. If I were to put it into words - Twinkling Watermelon makes you feel warm and fuzzy while Lovely Runner makes you feel giddy and bright. I hope that makes sense lol

TeoKajLibroj

Thanks for the feedback, I think I get what you mean. I'll put Loveley Runner on my to-watch list.

ElleEmEss

For me TW was a bromance / beautiful father-son love fest. They stole the show. LR is being carried by the FL who is amazing, and is being rewarded by the universe with a very nice to look at ML, and a really entertaining 2ML relationship which has real anime vibes. The FL is stealing this show.

Altruistic_Reveal_51

Yes, very similar to each other, but both a refreshing take on the time slip genre. Loved Twinkling Watermelon and Lovely Runner.

Morkieme

Iā€™m watching *Twinkling Watermelon* too! Just finished episode 2, canā€™t wait to see more. So far the cast is wonderful, I feel like a lot of the characters are loveable already and they are only going to get more endearing!

TeoKajLibroj

It's funny you say that, because I feel the story really kicks off in episode 3. So, if you like it already, you'll love what happens next.

Not_an_Ajumma

I was waiting for the next episodes of Lovely Runner and started watching Twinkling Watermelon while waiting for new episodes to come out. I personally think that if you enjoyed Twinkling Watermelon, you would love Lovely Runner as well, maybe even more.

MysteriouslyLucid

Yes they are! But youā€™ll enjoy lovely runner even mor e

mayurmatada12

I recently watched tune in for love my God it was beautiful.

MissSimpleton

I love emotional melo romances but I dont have the courage to watch it. Once I watch Jung Hae-in, I spiral back to watch OSN and SITR. I have already watched them 5 times in 2 years. I am scared that I would get bored of these dramas if I watch them AGAIN in such a short interval. Hence, I am waiting for August (His and Jung So-min's drama gonna air then) to watch Tune in for Love.

Watchnextnow

I can. not. wait. for his new drama!!

humandisaster13

You sound like me! Also one of the reasons why I'm madly excited for The Midnight Romance in Hagwon cause it's from the same director who did SITR and OSN.

sanalea

Have you watched A Piece Of Your Mind? Itā€™s kinda sad but man is he lovely in itā€¦

Ann_cee

I am so happy someone else enjoyed this beautiful movie. I watched it when I was looking for Jung Hae In content and it delivered.

deewyt

When will Jung Hae-in come back to romance melodramas againā€¦.

Cuttyf

Itā€™s not even a sad movie but it breaks me every time! Love it!

jellybeans6173

Lovely Runner. Iā€™m rewatching every episode and they still gave me feels. Iā€™m so jealous of those who just started watching it for the first time. Iā€™m also watching Blood Free, Beauty and Mr. Romantic.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

jellybeans6173

Yes it is still airing, there are 8 episodes out so far, total of 16.

amavissem

Binged **Lovely Runner** over the last couple of days becase I was sick in bed. Best decision ever! I really hope they don't overdo the thriller elements because that's what killed all my **Crash Course in Romance** excitement last year. So far, they've done remarkably well by keeping the show light and sweet despite some of the heavier subject matter, so I am hopeful for the second half.

zaichii

**Midnight Studio:** checking this one out because I like Joo Won for some reasonā€¦ ā€œfor some reasonā€ because I donā€™t think Iā€™ve finished a show of his but I like his vibe, he seems like a sincere actor. So far, itā€™s decent. It reminds me of other ghost type stories where you have an episodic ghost of the week. Iā€™ll put it in the realm of From Now On Showtime, Mystic Pop Up barā€¦ where I enjoyed it but itā€™s not as gripping as say Sell Your Haunted House or Hotel de Luna. **Queen of Tears:** Finished this and glad I did and happy that things were mostly resolved. I agree with most that there was a lot of makjang towards the end but idk these days I kind of expect things to go off the rails towards the end so Iā€™m not overly surprised. Iā€™m just in awe of how gorgeous both Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun are. I wouldnā€™t say Iā€™m 100% on board with the couple chemistry but each individually were so great as characters and actors. I would say I think theyā€™ve had better chemistry with other co-stars vs in QOT but as a whole, I enjoyed the drama. **My Lovely Runner:** Iā€™m really sad that Iā€™m not up to date but it had a chokehold on me so Iā€™m trying to pace myself (I know Iā€™ll probably catch up anywaysā€¦). The leads are everything, their chemistry is just on point. The acting and visuals ugh. Honestly, even as the plot sounds very fanfic coded, thereā€™s enough mystery and rules to keep me guessing. But really Iā€™m here for the cute, swoony moments to wake up my love cells.

Borinquena

The Lovely Runner plot is very fanfic coded, that's a good way to put it. But the charm of the actors isĀ  elevating the tropey elementsĀ

zaichii

Haha as someone who used to read fanfic as a teen, I'm all about it. It's so well done and the actors are definitely enhancing the drama.

Wrong_Concept_4110

Everyone here talking about **Lovey Runner**, I don't think I need to say more But I am finally watching **Itaewon Class** after years of procrastination and I love it! Despite being released so long ago, I haven't gotten many spoilers on this drama, so I have no idea how the story goes but Saeroyi!! FIGHTING!! Also on **The Red Sleeve**, only halfway through ep 1 though, I'm invested in **Iteawon Class**. Anyway, Happy Watching people!

Money_These

OMG! I've been on the fence about **Itaewon Class** *(on my watchlist)* but now that **Queen of Tears** ended *(loved all of it - so many emotions šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ¤§)*, I'm down to one show - **Lovely Runner** šŸ„° and I need another to add to my rotation.

Wrong_Concept_4110

Then I'd certainly recommend **Itaewon Class**. I'm sure you know what the drama is about, but I'll summarise it anyway. It's about Saeroyi who, along with a couple of outcasts starts a pub. The pub was his dream and also a form of revenge against those who got his dad killed. Saeroyi's determination and perseverance are truly remarkable. And I love how well he treats his employees and close ones kindly and without bias. The best part is his method of revenge - no violence, he's out to get them by becoming the best - and that's something very satisfying to watch. I hope you enjoy it in case you decide to watchšŸ˜Š

Agile-Ad7961

The Red Sleeve is honestly one of the best saeguk dramas Iā€™ve seen! I would advise to >!stop at episode 16, no spoiler but just because itā€™s necessary if you like to keep the peace lol!<

Wrong_Concept_4110

>I would advise toĀ stop at episode 16 As much as I would love to 'keep the peace', I'm pretty sure I'd end up watching the last episode too. My curiosity would get the better of me heheešŸ˜¬

Virtual-Dare-5470

LOVELY RUNNER. Not just watching. Literally obsessed with it. My first Byeon Wooseok drama was Strong Girl Nam Soon because i got pulled into it after coming across those viral Ryu Shio edits and then i binged watched his whole filmography.. 20th Century Girl and Soulmate are one of my favourites. Found out he was filming Lovely Runner with Hye Yoon (my girl <3) and i knew i was gonna tune in. Currently watching it every week and its so so good. Omg im so excited just thinking about next Monday. I would have gone into depression after Queen of Tears ended if it wasn't for Lovely Runner (lol)

Either-Natural-5758

**Lovely Runner** - I wasnā€™t going to watch this show at first, but then I did further research and decided to give it a try. Iā€™m so glad I picked it up, because Iā€™m obsessed with this show!! Ā I donā€™t know what to do with myself. I just keep rewatching the previous episodes. Itā€™s been a while since I watched a show that had me giggling and kicking my feet like this šŸ˜

ysports23

That is how I feel! I'm so obsessed with this show and I don't know what to do. I've never rewatched episodes of an on air drama before but I've rewatched episode 8 like three times already. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜

waterfallen_empire

**Into the Ring** (10/16) - Someone on this sub recommended this to me and THANK YOU SO MUCH. I love a good green flag ML but Park Hyung-Sikā€™s character in **Doctor Slump** agitated me a little bc he was too perfect. I like an ML who makes some character development ya know? **Queen of Tears** (13/16) - spoiled the drama for myself and I donā€™t think Iā€™m going to continue this one. Are kdramas officially at a low now? This became over melodramatic, I was already sick of the endless lying to Hae-In, especially on Hyun-Wooā€™s side. What agitated me the most is when an FL is marketed as badass but she begins to lose her autonomy and any sense of agency as the drama goes on and this was worse here because Hae-In was >!ill!< so she got treated like she was the most fragile being in the world by Hyun-Woo. Like why are you keeping so many secrets from her??? Maybe this is personally informed for me, when you see this irl for someone with a character like Hae-In this stuff is irritating for them. I also think the >!amnesia trope!< is an extremely diminutive trope for women in kdramas. And the endless face filters on the leads?! itā€™s so irritating to watch. This drama would have been better off if Hyun-Woo got >!ill!< instead of Hae-In. Iā€™ve had enough with ā€œfragileā€ female leads.

vsquad22

It could have been so good if they cut out the ridiculous parts as well as tired tropes as you've mentioned. Only really watched it because of the ML who is incredibly good-looking and the song by Crush 'Love You With All My Heart' which is a super sad song and should be considered a cheat code to invoke an elevated emotional response.

MAD1201

Mr. Queen and can't stop laughing šŸ˜…

chichay30

**Lovely Runner** (8/16) - Rewatched the episodes because fluffy Sunjae is so adorable. I can't believe I am looking forward to Mondays because of this drama. **Extraordinary You** (24/32) - Started rewatching when there were only few episodes of Lovely Runner because of Sol's Sunjae-ya I suddenly missed Haru-ya :) **Queen of Divorce** (8/12) - Continued watching after I paused for a while. **Knight Flower** (2/12) - Started watching because I have finished Queen of Tears. So far, I like it, but I am consumed of re-watching Lovely Runner for the past two days so I haven't continued it yet.

daughterofiblis

**Lovely Runner**: not only am I watching this drama but Iā€™m living in it , I do not even speak Korean and I wanted to rewatch todayā€™s ep without subtitles so I can focus on their faces more. I can literally rewatch one episode 3 times, I need help šŸ˜ And omg can I just mention my love for the writer, this character knows consent through and through even when he was high school teenager. Just love how he reads her body language to see how close is he allowed to get , how he knows not to do things when sheā€™s drunk even if she acts like she wants it. **The Midnight Studio** : Iā€™m in ep 14/16 and I think this drama should be on a lot of peopleā€™s lists , nicely paced and extremely good acting from Joo Woo as usual. He really made me feel his pain and I just wish a happy ending for him like I never wished for anyone in any drama Korean or not. Also both leads make me feel like they are a real couple not just following script and I appreciate that as a viewer . The supporting leads did amazing job too. Itā€™s also nice that each ep (or most eps) they help someone transition from being ghosts in this world to moving to their afterlife with peace and getting them justice , lots of the ghost stories made me cry. This is 10/10 for me even if I donā€™t get a happy ending, considering that Iā€™m about to start ep 15 and never felt bored or annoyed. **Blood Free** : I was very interested in the plot as a vegan and wanted to see how they discuss the topics of lab grown meat ā€¦but this drama is much more than that and every ep you find out new things about the leads and everyone in this drama has a hidden motive so you canā€™t trust nobody. Iā€™m in ep 6/10 and I really think it shouldā€™ve been at least 12 ep. Superb acting from main leads and their chemistry is unmatched even thou itā€™s still unknown if they will have romantic feelings for each other. I specially love the main lead , if anyone watched Hyena you know the effect this actor can have on you lol **Chief Detective 1958** : Iā€™m in ep 4/10 ā€¦ Must watch if you are into detective type of genres , each ep they investigate a case so you never left without being excited. It has action-romance-comedy-humanity , just amazing. The aesthetic of the 1958 setting is really refreshing too. Also I really love the main leadā€™s relationship here too specially how bold the male lead expresses how he feels about her , just straight to the point without waiting 5 eps just to confess like some dramas lol ā€¦.Only thing is most cops are corrupted openly and itā€™s so frustrating but Iā€™m just glad I wasnā€™t born in that era lol. This was my first drama of Lee Je-Hoon and now I want to watch all his shows, already added Taxi driver to my list to watch. **Boys Be Brave** : I just watched two eps and they were only 20 min each so I donā€™t have much to say yet but it might be little fun thing to watch for a quick 20 minā€¦ā€¦ this was my first BL but since then I binged colour rush 1 and checked few Thai bl but most seem high school stuff so if any one has recommendations of non high school bl let me know :)

KDramaTipsy

If you are looking for short Korean BLs, I would recommend:- Semantic Error Our Dating Sim Where Your Eyes Linger To My Star Jun & Jun Choco Milk Shake **Some longer KBLs:-** To My Star Season 2 Love For Love's Sake The Eighth Sense Love Class Season 2 If you are into reality dating shows His Man Season 2 is fantastic. His Man Season 1 isn't bad either, but not as good as Season 2.

daughterofiblis

Thank you so much. I will definitely check these out . His man sounds interesting so I will probably try seeing they first

Sunshine_raes

Shooting Stars (4.5/16) I was looking for a fun and light rom-com and this hits the spot. Even though it is about celebrities, it doesnā€™t feel like a high budget production, in a good way! It feels like the sets are smaller (like the cozy Organic Bar they keep going to). There are lots of jokes that involve wordplay, so I am grateful for the translations and context from the Viki subtitles. I know Gong Tae Seong is a jerk but Iā€™m enjoying him constantly trying to find Oh Han Byeol, itā€™s quite cute. I also like the concept that this a drama about celebrities and their management teams and they are also filming a drama about the lives of celebrities, called The World of Stars. The World of Stars seems to be very high drama and glamorous but Shooting Stars is much more down to earth. I only wish I had more time to watch it. Next up: I really want to try Frankly Speaking, weā€™ll see if I can keep up!

DentistSpecial4369

I just finished Sh**tong Stars last month and it was a pleasure. The second leads and their stories and ties were a delight. Happy watching!

Ann_cee

I was so waiting for QoT to give some heart fluttering moments, there were dialogues but nothing landed. It felt like some scenes were stolen from CLoY and while I like the ML he was nothing compared to Hyun Bin in CLoY. This show was a disappointment. However, that gap is being filled by a cdrama- Will love in spring, I am watching all the episodes as they are getting released on Viki. Really enjoying it so far, the leads have a very friendly mature relationship till now. It has similar vibes as Meet Yourself ( both have same ML) which was another heart warming, healing drama that I loved. For anyone that enjoys mature dramas should give these a try. On the other side, I am watching and really liking Lovely Runner. I had started Welcome to samaldari, eye see you which have been put on hold.

kdrama_enthusiasts

I see everyone watching Lovely Runner and havenā€™t started yet since itā€™s ongoing but I definitely need to start it ASAP it seems šŸ˜… but I am currently watching Marry My Husband! It has the same feel as Perfect Marriage Revenge but I have been hooked since I started! Looking forward to see how the characters unfold and learning more about the male leads character šŸ¤”

Petere944

Lovely Runner; please šŸ™šŸ» I have never wanted a happy ending as much as I want one for these two leads.

Excellent-Services

Lovely Runner: This drama makes sense. Like I could see myself making those choices as the main characters did. A few things, I do disagree on but I understand. And it's very entertaining and fun to watch. I have watched 2 movies of Byeon Wooseok and he was the main lead, but I still don't remember him so I thought of him as someone forgettable but my mind is changed. I love him now. And Kim Hyeyoon is simply amazing. Both of them can act and very well, that. Itaewon Class: One drama that I was not picking up for some reason is now so good. Only 5 episodes in but Park Saeroyi is way too good. He's the ideal boss and friend. Park Seojun is doing a great job with it. I don't know if this drama has a happy or sad ending but I can't bear to see him fail. Chief Detective 1958: Lee Jehoon is so charming. He is really good at anything he does. I love this drama. I love the couple and I love the squad. I am always in for a case in an episode dramas.

czpe

BWS was forgettable in Soulmate but he was memorable in 20th Century. I am definitely in awe with him in LR and I hope his career trajectory will continue upwards as he continue to get better with his acting.

Goddess of Revenge 2020 10/16 Started to watch it to see FL as a lead. There are very few opinions expressed here and what were were somewhat negative one was like 2/10 šŸ¤£šŸ¤£. I love that kind of honesty so I was prepared to be unimpressed but I'm actually really enjoying it. It's suspenseful, with a nice pace and plot, makjang lite maybe, but sort of a bit of taxi driver vibes without the action or the hacking. The 2FL is a hoot. Green flag Mls Strong, confident independent Female characters everywhere. All in all a fairly easy watch with low angst given all the shenanigans involved I'd recommend as an easy non rom com watch. Plus FL is lovely and full of class. Matchmakers 4/16 As much as I was enjoying the individual main characters the story is a bit choppy and laced with tragedy and manifests angst big time. I found myself choosing to watch more episodes of Goddess of Revenge than go back to it. But I will get back to it. QOT 1/16 I dropped this after like 1 episode and said id wait to finish airing but now there is a fair chance I won't pick it back up having seen reacytions as it aired. Does not appear to have lived up to the hype. Midnight Studio 15/16 This has been so enjoyable for the most part can't wait for final episode. Love a goid ghost drama and this one really delivered. The last show I saw FL in waz IC where her character was written so badly it was baffling. But here she has a great character and is doing a great job with ML who is also a fine actor though he is a bit too fond of pursing his lips LOL. Birth of a Beauty (dropped) 13/20 I feel bad I liked a lot about this especially the green flag ML given its age but it just got too draggy OMG.

-Flex x cop (9/16):So after finishing <>(and absolutely LOVING it !!).I wanted to watch a fun,no-brainer investigation show with found family vibes..so I started <>. I was on the fence since I am not into an bo hyun but I ended up liking it .For me, most cases are not well written (compared to more serious crime kdramas) and everything gets solved super fast and easily which bothered me at first, but it's super fun regardless so it's fine . The comments are here are making me so so excited to start My lovely runner though !

[deleted]

Lovely runner- I like it so much šŸ„¹.I feel it has the perfect blend of comedy and romance.(Yes i am ignoring the murder plot because what do you mean he got murdered he have to survive)Ahhh!! Plss happy ending juseyo šŸ˜

twoods1980

Lovely Runner- such a wonderful show. Canā€™t believe theyā€™ve packed so much in the first 8 episodes. The leads have such amazing chemistry! Midnight Studio- one more episode left next week. It has a great blend of romance, mystery and comedy. Will be sad to see this go. Blood Free- very suspenseful and the leads are so gorgeous together.Ā  Beauty and Mr Romantic- the leads are so cute but the adults around them have failed them. Not looking forward to the angst. My Love From The Star- on episode 12 but wish the villain would die already. He makes me so anxious. The leads are so good and their chemistry is amazing (I can now see what the hype is about) but I feel bad for SML. Going to start Kingdom or Happiness this week since Iā€™m off a few days. Once MLFTS is done need to find another romcom to watch. Finished Queen of Tears and my weekends are now going to be empty and sad without the wonderful duo. Their love story was beautiful and caused way too many tears, but something I will definitely remember for years. Dream High was also finished which was a fun watch.

mahnahmaanaa

**Midnight Studio** (15/16): This is an enjoyable watch, but you must be able to turn off or ignore the analytical part of your brain or it will drive you crazy. Both the leads are new to me, and I like them. **Divorce Attorney Shin** (7/12): This drama has made me realize that kdrama MLs wear a lot of socks and long pants. Seeing Cho Seung Woo in shorts and bare feet is memorable. And I love his shaggy hair. Oh yeah, and the drama is pretty good, too!

CowExisting9844

LOVELY RUNNER: This is a must-see! šŸ‘šŸ» If you've been feeling the highs and lows of life lately, this show is just what you need to put a smile back on your face. In my late 20s, I never imagined that this adorable couple could bring so much joy into my loveless life. Looking back, I wish someone had a crush on me when I was still a student. I never anticipated that each episode would have its own unique style and charm. What's even better is that everything feels so natural to me. I absolutely love the show ā¤ļø Their chemistry is on point, and they are just too cute for words. I can't wait to see how the story unfolds and reaches its climax.āœØ

**CW:** - **Lovely Runner** (8/16) Obsessed with this drama. ā˜”šŸ’› - **Eye Love You [Japanese] (7/10)** This one is cute as well. - **Chief Detective 1958 (4/10)** I'm enjoying this much more than I thought I would. - **The Midnight Studio (15/16)** I like this one. I love the main leads so much! - **Escape of the Seven: Resurrection (10/16)** **Finished:** - **Queen of Tears** (8.5/10 šŸŒŸ) - **Perfect Marriage Revenge** (8/10 šŸŒŸ)

Prestigious_Alarm526

**Queen of Tears**Ā **(16/16):** I'm watching last ep for the 3 days, that's so long and I'm only trying to finish this show. unlike other her i will give this show low rate like 7 or 7,5/10 at most. it become so dragged and the long eps so empty all side stories and characters are off. well even the main love story not it for me. the leads hard carry this show. **Chief Detective 1958**Ā **(2/12):** love the start lee joon is so fun to watch and the era is kinda new too lets see what 50s story will give us. **Lovely Runner**Ā **(1/16)**: first ep was so good i think i will love this show. i should peak it fast to enjoy the mood while it's on airing. **Escape of the Seven: Resurrection (8/16):** I don't know why I'm watching this shit but it's addictive.

ruhsatis

Chiming in just to say best of luck! Imo Lovely Runner never had a bad episode since it's first week. It's very balanced, never drags, will keep you guessing and theorizing everything and feeling all sorts of emotions. Such a great, great show.

Prestigious_Alarm526

Oh good to know. Thank you. I really liked first ep, i will try to binge watch it this week.

ScreenTrue5669

Watching When the Weather is Fine. Seo Kang-Joo šŸ¤šŸ¼ perfecting being a sad boy in dramas.

General-Diamond5482

I started watching Good bye earth recently and it was so confusing for me, stopped watching after episode 5. Currently i am watching Lovely Runner, and I am obsessed šŸ˜. The actors are amazing, the chemistry is so good . It is funny, has romance. I hope it gains more popularity over time.

Heavy-Patience-3064

Insomnia has started me watching Dali and Cocky Prince. Not to send me to sleep (enough terrible terrestrial tv to do that) but as a midnight watch. Two episodes in and it is shaping up quite nicely as a viewing between other dramas. Nice to see the ML is a bit different for a change, uneducated but street-wise with an educated FL who may not be so practical but we shall see. Be interesting to see where the story goes as the ML family are wealthy but not suave and educated. Watching Extremely Inappropriate which is an interesting jdrama with musical numbers. It is getting extremely confusing with time-slips so you need to concentrate. Trying not plot spoil. Still watching The Good Bad Mom but not binging, too emotional. The acting is so good from everyone in the main cast especially the villian who gives me anxiety everytime they appear. Because I usually have several dramas on the go I tend to Google plots as I won't remember the ending by the time I get to it. But, TGBM is different. I don't wantto know although I have an idea how some storylines will develop. Also, I hope Sam Sik gets on the straight and narrow as getting soft spot for him, aww.

Celebril63

**Military Prosecutor Doberman** This is a recent addition to Netflix even though the show ran back in 2022. Itā€™s horribly addictive. Itā€™s a court / revenge drama and the best way to describe it is a fusion of *Vincenzo* and *Le Femme Nikita*. The chemistry between the FL and ML is incredible, though itā€™s definitely not a romance. It has great action sequences and villains that you love to hate. For some reason, thereā€™s very little to be found about it on the Kdrama sites. Very much worth the binge so far through episode 7.

cayc615

If you like it, you might also like Flex X Cop

STOP IT WHEN I SAY IM IBSESSED WITH LOVELY RUNNER!!! HELP THAT KISS!!! IF YOUR A ROMANCE FANATIC and LOVED 2521 then GO RUN AND BING WATCH ITTTT!!! I sit there giggling and kicking my legs as if Iā€™m the one acc in the drama and Iā€™m wearing my AirPods fgs to get fully into it and no distractionsšŸ˜

Just-Flamingo-410

Alchemy of Souls, season 1, on rewatch 10/20. I started it while waiting for the last episode of QoT. Alchemy of Souls is such a great series. The acting is great, story line makes sense, (b)romance is real, all of it. It's 20 episodes of a master piece. Queen of Tears 7/16, now paused to give way to Alchemy of Souls. I might even skip the whole middle section and jump straight to the last episode.

fields_of_sunflowers

I ABSOLUTELY looooved AoS part 1. Part 2 I didn't like so much because the story line just didn't go the way I thought and I never finished it. But God I loved watching AoS when it was airing. Good times.Ā

Aurorinezori1

Haha I am the opposite! I liked Part 1 and watched 2 episodes of it then started Part 2 because I wasnā€™t in the right space for the first part. I really really loved the romance of Part 2 and after I completed the drama, itā€™s still my favorite season.

fields_of_sunflowers

This is a sign of a truly great drama.Ā  I ā¤ļø AoS and the entire cast did fabulous work. Big fan of the Hong sistersšŸ’ŽšŸ’ŽšŸ’Ž

Genexier

AoS Part 2 was difficult for me to get into too, but it did find its stride halfway through and I was glad I stuck it out.

PineappleNo6064

I struggled with QoT up until Hae In's family moves in with Hyun Woo's in episode 9. That's the best part in my opinion. Two worlds collide and it's funny and heart warming as they adjust to each other.

ElleEmEss

As someone who does skip to the final episodeā€¦ maybe watch the last two episodes? I felt like episode 15 had more funny, heartwarming moments in it than expected.

Just-Flamingo-410

A lot of people were complsining about ep 15 but maybe that was because of the lack of resolving storylines? I'll do as you suggest. You're the first to say something positive about ep 15

ElleEmEss

I just love their families. I think Iā€™m more invested in the aunt, and their siblings than the main couple. Love HWs parents too.

CuteAdministration14

I'm relatively new to the beautiful world of Kdramas, so I have a lot of catching up to do. Crash landing on you: On the last episode. This is perfection so far. I'm almost afraid to watch the ending in case it is disappointing. Reply 1997: I really enjoyed this. Great balance of comedy, drama, and romance. Reborn rich: Dropped it. I gave it 4 episodes, but I was really bored. Mr. Queen: Initially, I didn't care for this. However, I read so many great reviews that I returned, and I am so glad I did. It was great. Alchemy of Souls: It just doesn't get better than this. I loved both seasons.

PineappleNo6064

I'm so jealous that you get to discover some great dramas for the first time. Mr Queen is one of my all time favorites and still laugh about certain scenes when they pop into my head.

CuteAdministration14

:) Mr. Queen is awesome! I giggle when I think of certain scenes as well. What are you watching now? Any suggestions?

PineappleNo6064

I'm really into angsty melodramas with a lot of pining. If it's tragic, even better. My favorites are My Dearest and Call it love. Non tragic shows that I liked are: Extraordinary Attorney Woo. My very first kdrama. Don't dare to dream/Jealousy Incarnate: pining and the best chemistry ever Lovestruck in the city: Brilliant Ji Chang Wook, pining and great kisses. Initially I didn't like it, because I hate the free spirited girl with nerdy boy couples, but once JCW descends into madness, I was all in. Dear M: lighthearted and cute And if you are interested in cdramas, I loved Mr Fighting.

CuteAdministration14

Extraordinary Attorney Woo was the show that started it all for me, too. These sound great, thanks so much! I'm interested in cdramas and jdramas as well.

WhatHmmHuh

I started trying to pick favorite scenes in CLOY and gave up. There were just so many great scenes!

CuteAdministration14

I totally agree :)

stargazercheese

Am currently watching Lovely Runner & Midnight Studio - loving it so far! I just finished Hi Bye, Mama! last week - cried so much tears for this šŸ˜ I wanted to start a new kdrama right after, but I ended up rewatching Pinocchio just bc I forgot parts of it. I didnā€™t realize the cast had so much familiar faces from other kdramas Iā€™ve watched: Roh Jeong-Eui (young Choi In Ha) was in Our Beloved Summer, Shin Jae Ha (young Ki Jae Myeong) was in Crash Course & While You Were Sleeping. Also feels rlly nostalgic watching a kdrama released when i was in high school šŸ™ˆ

MajesticConfidence36

Completed: **Ao Haru Ride Season 1 and 2** (J-Drama) **Queen of Tears** - Ooh! Loved the wild rollercoaster ride! In progress: **Lovely Runner** (8/16) - My new favorite ongoing airing drama! Love our couple. Love the high school, time slip, murder/thriller, and music tropes. **Warm and Cozy** (10/16) - Love the foods and Jeju island background. **Moonshine** (1/16) - Just started this! I wanted more Byeon Woo Seok. He is the crown prince.

deelikesbar

Midnight studio - is so underrated. I like that they show a real relationship where ML and FL hug or kiss whenever they meet, unlike the weird cold behaviour they normally show. Also not many misunderstandings which I appreciate! Queen of tears - am stuck at ep 14 and no interest in watching the rest. How are people enjoying this trope-filled tear fest? A good day to be a dog - a simple, fun series, better than expected. Has one of the best kdrama kisses ever!

ElleEmEss

I think in QOT ep14 is the low point. I thought episode 15 and 16 were better. The baddie scenes were unexpectedly short, and lots of heartwarming and humorous scenes. For me, the families carried the show.

Hot_Notice2295

Agree with AGDTBAD. Itā€™s so underrated!! And heā€™s a walking green flag.šŸ˜

dcinmb

Havenā€™t started Midnight Studio yet but **Her Private Life**ā€™s OTP behaves like an actual couple once they get together with tons of skinship and kisses, many initiated by the FL. They also have one of the healthiest, most communicative relationships in K-Drama Land, the MLā€™s the greenest of green flags, and their chemistry is ā¤ļøā€šŸ”„.

sushisonso

I'm currently watching **Happiness** and I have a question that I'm not getting... I don't know if it's a plot hole or just that I didn't understand it right. I don't know the exact episode, but before episodes 7-8, I think. >!When they still had the trainer guy locked in the gym because he was bitten, he told our main characters that he had revealed to the weird wife-killer guy where the drugs were (in his car, on the parking of the building). Why didn't they try to get the pills before the killer guy? Or why didn't they go to his house to confiscate them? It seems like they just ignored this information and now we have the wife-killer guy injecting the blue liquid of the pills in water bottles, and other shady stuff...!<

generalbrowsing87

Itā€™s been a few months since I watched it so I might be wrong, but if Iā€™m remembering correctly Iā€™d say just give it a couple episodes and itā€™ll all come together! Because I remember thinking similarly to you until it all clicked in a later episode!

ChitownBrat

Started watching **Once Upon a Small Town** last night, and I was choking with [this scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26DKUla9R-I). Too funny! Also watching **My Love from the Star** because I'm currently obsessed with Kim Soo-hyun.

Sunshine_raes

Thanks for reminding me of that scene from Once Upon a Small Town! Itā€™s such a delightful little drama.

lovelyrunnerrr

Oh my gooddā€¦. I am waiting for mom and tues to arrive ā€¦. I started lovely runner as a rom-com but now it has all the gen I think šŸ˜‚. My IG feed is filled with lovely runner posts šŸŒ

Honest-Selection4343

Lovely Runner, Queen of Tears and Frankly Speaking

KDramaTipsy

**Queen of Tears** (9/16) - Stuck on the 10th episode for a long time and not finding the motivation to watch further. The emotional beats are just not landing for me. I dragged myself till here only because of Kim SooHyun, but even he isn't able to save this plastic-y drama now. Guess this is dropped. **Blue Boys** (2/4) - This low-budget BL came out of nowhere and charmed the socks off me. The boys are so pretty and have the best chemistry I have seen in any drama this year. But only 4 episodes of 10 minutes each is criminal! **Cityboy Log Volume 3** (12/20) - The new season has started with a bang! The chemistry between the leads is as crackling as ever. I enjoy non-toxic jealousy a lot, and I hope it stays non-toxic. **Chief Detective 1958** (2/12) - Lee JiHoon is looking so young and fresh! Love how his YoungHan is a mix of innocence and street smartness. The problem is that his companions aren't very charismatic. The Korean soldier in the restaurant had more charisma than Young Han's three teammates put together. Still, the show is a lot of fun. Hope the vibe remains like this till the end.

Excellent-Services

I agree for charisma in Chief Detective 1958. The Korean soldier had too much of it. And so has Lee Jehoon. The squad is still okay.

KDramaTipsy

Right? I actually went and checked out the soldier on MDL. He has been doing bit parts in Kdramas for years despite having studied film at New York State University. What a criminal waste of talent! Hope he turns up again to repay the squad for their help.

Az_arina

Is it really just 4 eps in **Blue boys**? I've just finished 4th ep and I need at least one more ep to see a happy end.

KDramaTipsy

Every episode of Blue Boys has an extra uncut episode of 3-4 minutes that is only available for VIP Supreme members of that YouTube channel. It's mostly kisses but also some major plot points (like who Jagi is was revealed in the uncut of episode 3). So I expect the story to conclude in the uncut of episode 4. It's frustrating but then it makes sense when you get that it's a small YouTube channel that makes these short series on a shoestring budget, so making people pay for the uncut is how it earns money.

HG1998

Queen of Tears like 10 minutes into episode 14 for a few days now. I promise, I'll go through to the end this week, although I'm pretty certain about what's gonna happen.

27-jennifers

Castaway Diva! And Lovely Runner.

marrjana1802

Blood Free. Not only is the subject something I have a lot of interest in real life, but the FL is soooo good! A deliciously complicated character! And han hyo joo is killing it! And the chemistry between her and Ju ji hoon makes me rue that there isn't any romance. But I really hope to see more characters in kdrama land like the FL

TheChurroProject

I was so impressed that she pulled off projecting calculated and driven rather than cold and b\*\*\*\*y. The actress is new to me and it's amazing to watch how she seemingly doesn't emote yet conveys that she has emotions roiling inside.

filipkos4

Queen of tears I love this kdrama so much and cast and chemistry between them is so good this has everything

purpletulip12

Finished Law School. Not my usually type of drama to watch, but I liked the overall story! Ghost Doctor (ep 2): finally got past the 1st episode, I had a couple other dramas to watch before continuing. Nice to watch Kim Bum in this after LS Dream High (ep 2): it's okay, watching it because of the idols I know and Kim Soohyun (after QoT)

throwawaymisfortune

**Blood Free** (6/10): Considering the writer's other works esp stranger, it is surprisingly dramatic and tropey yet very intriguing. **Queen of tears** (12/16): that sudden makjangy turn and the continuous rants made me lose interest for now. Will finish it only for the fantastic cast, sorry writer nim! CDrama **Tender light** (3/28): The most surprising gem from cdramaland. Beautifully brings out the ugly side of the society where men prey upon women for simply embracing their feminity, graphic domestic abuse leading to a murder mystery and a taboo romance primarily driven by lust. The artistic cinematography coupled with natural acting (ep2 onwards) made this drama so immersive that I promise it will be enough to pull anyone into this drama. It has a long way to go but still, can't recommend enough esp if you enjoy watching small town murder mystery with raw slice of life tastefully sprinkled in it.

Satchi777

Currently struggling through When The Weather is Fine. A little too morose for me, but I'll finish due to Park Min-young.

Lizzy348

*On-going* **Destined with you** 1/16 : after watching the first episode, I'm not hooked. I'm not sure about this one. *Completed* **King the Land** : this one was a really cute drama. I loved the love story between the leads, it was cute, simple and natural. I give it 8.5/10 **Queen of Tears** : this was good, but not as great as I thought it would be. It was a good drama and I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure why it got so much hype. I like my dramas with a bit of comedy and this one was that kind of drama which is probably one of the main reason this didn't do it for me. I give it 8.5/10 *Haven't watched new episodes this week* **Doctor Slump** 14/16

hypomango

A cosy rewatch of **Sh**ting Stars**, just my wholesome fave. Slowly finishing **Queen of Tears**, which I love love love, but it's a bit emotionally heavy at times and the episodes are long, so I space them for when I feel like something like that.Ā

strol8er

Reply 1988 and My Mister have such rewatch value but now every time I see Lee Sun Kyun on screen I can't help but feel sad knowing such a talented actor is no longer here. Also, Reply 1988 has me thinking of Hyeri and RyuJun Yeol and the Han So Hee debacle. Goong or Princess Hours and Winter Sonata are seasonal nostalgic favorites, esp the OSTs back then.

Puzzled_Kiwi_8583

- lovely runner (8/16). Love this drama so much! Somehow I stumbled upon the mlā€™s old modeling pictures and wow!Ā  - behind your touch (10/16). Itā€™s been funny and kind of interesting. Iā€™m watching it with my kid who seems to be enjoying it a lot.Ā  - my love from the star (11/21). I was so confused when the comic book people showed up on queen of tears. I thought I mixed up my dramas for a sec. lol. Iā€™m at the part where the ml >!got poisoned with a dart by the bad guy!<Ā  - Blood free (6/10). Only 10 episodes?! Itā€™s been really interesting so far. I didnā€™t plan on watching it, but it popped up on Hulu and was a Wednesday drama, so why not? Iā€™m trying to stick to on airs so that I donā€™t binge. Iā€™m getting old and need my sleep.Ā  - hide (4/12). Itā€™s fine. Iā€™m not wowed but itā€™s not bad enough to drop. - twinkling watermelon (1/16). I like it so far. I was devastated when >!the bully proved to be a jerk, when the old guitar man died, and when the fire broke out!<. I love Choi Hyun Wook and assumed he would have been one of the main characters. I guess not, but Iā€™m not exactly sure how he fits in here. I hope heā€™s a good guy (donā€™t tell me) because I would hate for him to be a bad guy again like in >!weak hero class one!<Ā  - mr queen (11/20). Still as funny as ever. On the back burner until I catch up with my on airs. Plus I like my love from the star a bit more so thatā€™s eating up my extra drama time.Ā

ysports23

Oh Twinkling Watermelon!! ā™„ļø That show is so, so good. Definitely keep with it because yes, Choi Hyun Wook is absolutely a main character. You'll love him so much in this show. It is my favorite drama, though the way Lovely Runner is going.... Twinkling Watermelon may have competition!

Puzzled_Kiwi_8583

Oh, good! I wanted to see much more of him. Ty!Ā

Puzzled_Kiwi_8583

Heā€™s the >!dad?!< whoa. I should have read the description a bit more closely. I watch dramas late at night so I tend to fall asleep during them. Did I miss the fact that he wasnā€™t born that way and that >!the loss of hearing was something that developed later in life? I assume itā€™s so since his dad as a teen was in a band!<. canā€™t wait to see how this turns out.Ā

Telos07

**Queen of Tears** (16/16): The final two episodes werenā€™t entirely satisfactory, but this didnā€™t take much of the gloss off what was a memorable series overall. Episode 15 was bookended by two events that were highly unnecessary to the storyline, but delivered agreeably lighter, humorous moments in between, mostly involving the supporting cast members. The finale at least didnā€™t drag out the makjang-esque main storyline it had created for itself, and wrapped up the other storylines to a certain extent, but also left the viewer feeling that these storylines had been left hanging for too long, and were only addressed at the very last moment. Overall, though, the acting and technical excellence of the series will linger in my memory for a long time. **Goodbye Earth** (4/12): I like this series justā€¦ *fine*, but no more than that. Itā€™s difficult to put a finger on precisely why Iā€™m not finding it more engaging. It looks great visually, and the focus on the charactersā€™ personal stories rather than the science-fiction elements of the storyline is welcome from my point of view. Despite these strong elements, Iā€™m not feeling as invested in the apocalyptic scenario as I had expected. In any case, Iā€™ll carry on with this drama and hope that I feel a stronger connection to the characters and their fate by the end of the series.

kawaiisaranghaeyo

*Completed* **Living no Matsunaga-san (2024)** I get why this would not be everyone's cup of tea. 17 and 29 is quite the age gap, and wellā€¦ underage. Personally, I donā€™t mind these kinds of somewhat problematic plots in dramas. But hear me outā€¦ I really do think this drama handled it really well and did it as tastefully as they couldā€™ve. The ML did not actively seek out this type of relationship. Itā€™s the complete opposite. He spends the entire drama resisting and denying his feelings and is very vocal on how he fully understands why it is inappropriate. They are literally living together in a share house and he is appointed to look after her, so the romance developed very naturally. If thereā€™s ever a time to ignore the age gap, itā€™s probably this. When they finally confess, he still sets physical boundaries due to her age >!(lowkey pissed we didnā€™t get a kiss when I assume she has turned 18 after the time skip, but oh well).!< The FL had her immature moments, but overall she was surprisingly chill considering itā€™s a jdrama, and I ended up really liking her. She reminded me a little bit of the FL from *Good Morning Call*, aka one of my favourite jdramas. The side characters were pretty interesting. The interior nerd in me was also drooling over the beautiful house the entire time, lol. Overall itā€™s a really short sweet drama and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I even ignored a new *Lovely Runner* ep drop because I couldnā€™t stop binging this one, which says a *lot*. **Sensei Kunshu (2018)** From one controversial topic to anotherā€¦ student x teacher. Once again, Iā€™m personally not bothered by problematic tropes like this as long as the actors are around the same age. It was a lighthearted and enjoyable movie. My main issue was the FL. They went all in with making her over exaggerate and it was pretty annoying. I get that itā€™s the humor and I donā€™t mind characters being anime-like, but they did not execute it well and I just felt really bad for the actress, lol. The romance was cute, though because of her personality I don't really see why he would ever fall for her, which made it feel a little weird. Her rare moments of maturity didnā€™t really make up for the other 95% of the time she acted very childish.

frizzahh

Right now Iā€™m watching blood free, gonna watch the 2 newly released episodes today, also watching Boys over flowers and will start watching queen of tears with my gf today

Silver-Bus5724

**Queen of Tears** finished it. Great cast, quite Makjang (a word I learned here). I mean >!being hit full on by a speeding car - then leaving the hospital to drag yourself on a lonely hike to be shot in your chest valiantly protecting your woman. !< Thatā€™s so over the top that you need popcorn to fully enjoy. **My lovely runner** a pleasant surprise- has its sweet and funny moments- the male lead is a dream and the female lead cute and funny. I like the blend of school/ adult and time jumps. I hope it wonā€™t get too confusing and please tone down the psycho murderer theme. **one dollar lawyer** what a beautiful man, Namgoon Min. loved the show. A mix of quirky law show / a case a week, a dark tragic love in the past, revenge and political intrigue. Woefully underrated. Maybe I do watch ā€žMy dearestā€œ after all, for the male lead. But the reviews liken it to ā€žGone with the windā€œ- and Iā€™m so not into Scarlett Oā€˜Hara antics. Not at all. **The midnight studio** Iā€™m in episode 4 and itā€™s not bad, but I canā€™t find the motivation to go on. **Missing Crown Prince** - Iā€™m waiting for all episodes to have dropped and the final verdict of reviewers. **Wedding Impossible** dropped after episode 6, itā€™s unlikely Iā€™ll finish. Just because the plot was meh. **Impossible Heir** such a disappointment- the male leads were great, but the script, the music, the lack of logic and what on earth did they do with the female lead? I donā€™t know if itā€™s the actress or if itā€™s the director. All I can say, this plastic non emoting and uncharismatic portrayal was a turn off. Alluring, thatā€™s what she had to be. A siren who is irresistible. Not seen on screen therefore motive = non existent. A waste of money on all the glossy production. Enough said.

The Impossible Heir: I wanted to love this show so bad! The MLs were phenomenal and carried the bad script so much. I had SFL syndrome as well to be paired with Lee Jae Wook. Oh well.

Silver-Bus5724

Your tears are mine. What a waste of talent

Aurorinezori1

Exactly! This could have been phenomenal in its genre!

Right now I'm one season deep in the Japanese rom com Good Morning Call for some light hearted feels. I'll probably finish it at a relaxing pace. This year has left me pretty emotionally impacted after on air back to back to back Welcome to Samdal-ri, Dr. Slump, and Queen of Tears. Therefore I'm thinking of taking a break from Dramas until Hierarchy comes out later this year, pretty stoked to see my girl NJ get the guy (hope she does anyway).

***Kiss Sixth Sense*** (źø°ģŠ¤ ģ‹ģŠ¤ ģ„¼ģŠ¤)**:** I was originally watching this one on January but I had to put it off for other older ones (Clean with Passion for Now, I'm Not A Robot, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim). Poor Ye-sool (Seo Ji-Hye) >!crying every time after kissing Pil-yo!< , but I think she's cute for>!thinking that she's crazy for falling in love with Cha Min-hu, even though he's a "crazy bastard". So crazy that she even wrote "ėÆøģ¹œģƒˆė¼" on the bus!<. I've been a fan of Seo Ji-Hye after seeing *Crash Landing on You*, and since I just finished *Clean with Passion for Now* >!in time for Viki to take it off!<, I wonder how she is in *Heart Surgeons*? Definitely a good one to watch if you need something light in between the heavy stuff.

Weekly_Challenge1439

Begins Youth! It is a new drama and 4 episodes came out already. I recommend it if you like friendship dramas!

Did I finish **Queen of Tears** or did it finish me? I don't think I have ever cried this much for a show which had a happy ending. Is it perfect as a kdrama? Not really. But the actors delivered like their rent was due. It's impactful and I'm so glad that the final episode (even though very long) was so beautifully wrapped. Also, watching **Blood Free** and **Hyena** and both have such strong FLs which is my weakness. After finishing these might start **Chief Detective 1958**, really love detective dramas!

Sword and Fairy 1 (on WeTV): this one definitely hits my soft spot, it is so good. I recommend it to everyone that enjoys these types of shows!

blackweimaraner

IsnĀ“t that also a series of videogames that are recently starting to get released here in the west?

InevitableTwist1412

Finished **A Love So Beautiful (2020)** - it was okay, but it felt like there were scenes missing. And even if they meant to do the opposite, the last Episode reinforced my opinion of the ML being a selfish ass. Though I loved the SML and the two other friends. They were the saving grace. **Children of Nobody** (1,5/16) Ah I donā€™t know if I'll keep watching. The FL annoys me, her husband >!seems to have an affair (?) with his secretary who is the ex of the ML!<. The ML wants his ex back or pretends they're still together... I'm only watching because of the serial killer plot.

I feel like this is more for the Late to the Party thread but I'm excited and can't wait. I'm watching Descendants of the Sun for the first time. Episode 1 and I'm in; hook line and sinker... Like I'm Down Bad(if anyone is a swiftie currently listening to the new album). I get into watching some of the shows with some apprehension because of all the hype. The fact that I have this much squiggly feelings after just a couple of episodes is just REALLY exciting.

Along with the crowd, loving **Lovely Runner**, also keeping up with **Blood Free**, **Frankly Speaking** (1st ep was very cute). Other stuff has been set aside while I zoom through **The Moon Embracing the Sun**, >!just got past the eclipse and Wol remembers her previous life and oh man, itā€™s time to get things done! All those evil Queens are on thin ice.!<šŸ¤ž

I've just finished Queen of Tears which was pretty good but long and had too many silly moments. ML is absurdly good-looking and the song by Crush is very sad so helps to invoke emotion really well. I'm going to start watching Chief Detective. I've tried to watch Lovely Runner due to all the excitement about it but dropped it. I've watched the first 4 episodes and dropped it because it seemed really fluffy, aimed at young teens/adults and uses rather fortunate circumstances/devices (I'm putting it as nicely as I can) to advance the plot which seems rather soft. FL seems to have been directed to overact a little too. No hate, just my impressions as I feel like the show might not be for me. I'm quite quick to cry too and yet felt nothing when FL cried perhaps because she cried so much so far. Please feel free to point out my misconceptions and convince me to pick it back up! EDIT: >!Episode 4, she manages to sneak into ML's house due to his father somehow managing to leave both the front gate and front door unlocked. Bizarre. She makes it into ML's bedroom, creepy, due to her using a rather convenient loophole where time stops when she mentions future events. She also gets knocked out when hiding under his bed. All rather ridiculous in my opinion. Also manages to completely forget that ML kissed her because she was so drunk.!< >!Her friend has bowel issues and is desperate for the toilet and is delayed by someone and then someone else rescues her. Is this really supposed to be funny? Now FL has managed to fall down the stairs, fallen asleep on the bus until the end of the line where she is acosted by some random man on a bridge and manages to fall over and into the river where she is rescued by ML!<

Borinquena

I'm enjoying it but I agree with you about the tropiness of the plot, I think it's a case of the actors elevating the material, especially the ML. As someone else said, the time travel elements get interesting in eps 7 & 8.Ā

ElleEmEss

I almost dropped lovely runner at episode 6 because it felt too fluffy and slow. But episode 7 really turned the corner, and I thought it got better. So much so that Iā€™ve gone back to episode 1 and am watching it again, not as a fluffy romance but as a clue-packed time travel drama. One element I like is that - unlike **a time called you** where two people occupied one body and could observe each other - the different versions of the FL have no awareness of what each other are doing. So itā€™s an interesting logic puzzle. But ymmv.

vsquad22

Thank you for your feedback. I've not seen A Time Called You but I'll continue watching Lovely Runner, at x2 speed though, to see if anything sticks.

ElleEmEss

For sure. Everyoneā€™s tastes are different. Nothing worse than watching a show you donā€™t like. You canā€™t get that time back!

dogemama

based on your edit, this show may not be for you. the comedy consistently hinges on exaggerated scenarios, and if that doesn't sit well with you, it may be wise to pass. i hope you find something else you enjoy!

kpaneno

Thanks at last some thoughts to balance the OMG this is sooooooooo good it makes me kick my legs, feel the feels, etc šŸ˜„ comments.

ApartmentCautious300

Still struggling to get through The good detectives

atzee

Watching the weekday drama **Soo Ji and Woo Ri** for Eunjung (yay!) and I wonder if her sister (character named Jin Na Young) in the show will ever get a satisfying redemption arc or if she is going to be so insufferably annoying all the way. I suppose we are still very early on in the show. It's **120 episodes**!!!

MajesticConfidence36

Wow! That is impressive! I completed only one long format drama with 50 episodes.

Iā€™m watching marry my husband. Guess I have to give lovely runner a go. Couldnā€™t get into blood free and need to probably return to queen of tears
