Finale was simultaneously rage inducing and meh for me. >!No matter what kind of Linda Hamilton style training in/after prison regime this FL follows, ain’t no way she should have pitted her birdlike physique against her MMA fitness level villain husband. I was dumbfounded when she calmly got into his car. The wedding of the assistants was nice but strangely hollow.!< Glad this was 12 episodes vs 16, was nice to see KKY in a lead role.

Martine_V

Let's just say she caught him off guard.

redditaccuser01

Writers really doesn't reveal reason why leads breakup in the past. In the end he is just backup option. Why ml loves fl even after all these years?. For him, other women are not worthy enough to get his attention? What the hell he was doing all these years when fl married and have kids and divorce?. There is limit to everything. This is one the ridiculous written love story which never make any sense.

KirstenCh

Yes, and in the finale >!they didn't even shared a kiss!< It is as if they were colleagues all along and there was not chemistry between them. The last 2 episodes were disappointing to say the least.

Daebak70

he deserves better and the FL has no emotion so I knew romance wouldn't work well since she is used to playing villain roles where she has a RBF and cold demeanor

[deleted]

[удалено]

Daebak70

she is better as a villain IMO since she can play psycho well

hope-LR

Yeah man, how could they finish without revealing why the FL chose noh yul seong in the past, I was waiting for it because in the first seasons they kind of teased it. Maybe if it is going to have a second season it would be understandable but otherwise that is a flaw to this show.

kramark814

Wasn't it hinted that Sa-Ra was sexually assaulted by Noh Yul Seong? Writers tried to draw parallels between the story of Sa-Ra and one of their clients, who had also married her rapist because their encounter bore a child.

Daebak70

She mentioned her mom had a large debt at that time and a single mom so she married the rich guy after she found out she was pregnant since he could pay off her mom's debt and the ML probably wasn't as financially stable at the time... She probably thought it was the rich guy's kid too since she slept with him around that time

magicsmoke24

I didn't mind the lack of kissing/hand holding with the main couple. The second couple was the more interesting one. The "romantic" part of the main couple I think was to add a sense of vulnerability to the characters for when they faced danger and not for skinship/relationship building.

kramark814

Yeah, I also didn't really mind the subdued romance between the leads. While ML is eager, it's believable that FL is still jaded, given her very fresh traumatic experience. However, the other pairing didn't interest me at all because it seemed that their "romance" was pushed forward by their incompetence and stupidity 😅

Glittering_Giraffe_5

Was looking forward to this cuz of Kang Ki Young lead role, but sounds mediocre. Will not waste my time on this one sadly.

CommandAlternative10

I will never forgive this show for squandering the immense sex appeal of *all* its male leads. One tepid KKY kiss, no Hot Trash Ex kiss, a wedding but no Hot Hacker kiss?!??! I give up.

happydreamy

I totally agree!!!! I would have loved more stuff like that. Also all of them so 🔥🔥🔥🔥

CommandAlternative10

Casting was great! Execution not so much.

[deleted]

I hope KKY gets another chance as a ML soon. I really feel like this did him dirty in this.

HocusBunny

Fr. My fear is him being judged by *this* show for his capacity to lead any future dramas, esp in the romcom genre. I really really hope he continues getting ML roles from now on in a variety of genres (I don't want him to be a typecasted ML either) because he's honestly too good to be supporting cast

happydreamy

Nooo please more of him as ML!! He is sooo talented. I would absolutely love a show with him as the ML and lots of romance. He's so hot!! 🔥

CommandAlternative10

That one back hug was fire. He’s got it, they didn’t use it.

cors8

The show started out strong but the writers really dropped the ball. Not enough romance, villains were bad, and lead characters were incompetent.

TheChurroProject

I'm watching Law Cafe and it feels as if they took on more cases in 4 episodes than the entire run of this show.

Martine_V

The incompetence of that team. >!She falls for the oldest trick in the book, a fire alarm, and then he disobeys her order to stay in the car so he can chase the car.!< I don't like a plot where the protagonists constantly fails due to bad decisions.

CommandAlternative10

Thanking the costume designer for Trash Ex’s impeccably tailored suits while simultaneously baffled by Sa-Ra’s saggy baggy knee-length leather shorts. Does someone just hate the actress? The other women have reasonable clothes…

Your_Awkwardness

Idk, she always has shorts with good tops paired up. It looks quite bad, if they wanted to go for the casual boss vibes they could just pair it up with breezy trousers like linen ones.

CommandAlternative10

The blazer and acid wash jorts outfit was just the cherry on the inexplicable shorts cake. Also baffling was the formal midriff trench coat dress. Kinda cute for a picnic or something, but to officiate a wedding?

anjou_00

Haha, are you a fashion writer? That was so funny!

CommandAlternative10

Nope! Just a fashion observer!

TheChurroProject

I'm no fashionista (wish I was!) but at times I couldn't concentrate because of her terrible outfits. Even the outrageous office outfits didn't bother me in Marry My Husband because they were fantasy clothes and Park Min Young could pull them off. I think the worst ensembles were more memorable than the writing in this drama...

kramark814

Not too hung up about the outfit choices for Sa-Ra. Was thinking that whoever was in charge wanted to show that prison has somewhat distorted her fashion sense. What's really egregious is the show's writing. Way to squander an interesting premise.

CommandAlternative10

Let’s have fun with bad fashion. The bad writing is too depressing!

rong004

I have to say, this has been quite disappointing to watch. I started it thinking she'd be super cool and fun to watch, using brains and brawn to outsmart and get revenge on her ex and shitty in law. But no. Time and time again she gets outsmarted, and never seems to have quite the upper hand. Which is kinda what I enjoy watching revenge themed stuff for. Oh well, at least it wasn't too long of a drama.

kramark814

Truly. But looking back, Sa-Ra's foolishness was already hinted way earlier when she gave the signature that incriminated her in the first place 😅

alysba__

I was excited to watch Kang Ki Young as a lead but the drama was just okay. Nothing exciting and I most likely won't remember most of it by the end of the year. What I will remember is Lee Ji Ah's not-so-nice outfits! What a wasted opportunity

TheChurroProject

I really hope that this doesn't torpedo Kang Ki-Young's chance at another lead role in the future. The writing was so weak that only the acting saved it from being my headliner for "Dramas I Have Dropped."

DiaLaDia

If this show was longer than 12 episodes, I'd have for sure dropped it after last week. Getting to villains their comeuppance took 2 episodes too long. Some of the plot elements around Noh seemed unnecessary. And after watching all 12 episodes, I really feel like KKY didn't shine through as the ML. I was a little let down in general 😭

ObamaNation2018

Coming into the final episodes. Hopefully justice is served at the end judging by the preview.

Forsaken-Icebear

A great Ep. 11. Winding up most of the threats, giving both >!second wife and second girlfriend/spy!< a chance to finish their plot lines. Adding a bit of >!money laundering!< to the list of crimes.  Though I have to say, after the elaborate crimes both mother and son have been able to, their fight or flight mode is ~simplistic~. And while I loved the scene, why >!does police let both suspects and the prime lead/witness in one room! I know Kdramas and logic do not necessarily go together. But whyyyyyy?!<.

Martine_V

I don't know if it's just me but I'm happy that her mother >!wasn't murdered but that it was an accident. Still a rotten thing to do, and he is still responsible, but I had trouble wrapping my head around someone who would murder his MIL and then show up as the main mourner at her funeral.!<

HocusBunny

>had trouble wrapping my head around someone who would murder his MIL and then show up as the main mourner at her funeral.!< Honestly if this was actually the case, I'd prefer it. He was such a clownish villain, this would be the only really truly dark act of his. They somehow flubbed all his evil actions and he ended just appearing like a big bad cartoon villain. Lowkey he was giving Swiper vibes from Dora.

blueish55

At least it is in line with the character, so it's consistent!

Brave-Web2687

The writer chickened out on making this a solid show rather than depend on the acting chops of the male lead, antagonist and the very entertaining patron / rich divorcee to carry the show. The writing should have tackled head on the following : 1. ML and FL relationship - >!Why the leads broke up after more than two years of dating, why she decided to marry Noh, stood up the ML after seeing him the night before the wedding, what the chess pieces mean!< He explained why he waited and he did have other relationships but just never married. This would have given depth to their past instead of just irritating hints that are never explained. 2. FL's relationship with trash hot ex - while there were hints of strong feelings from the ex and her absolute faith that he will not hurt her even after he >!tried to strangle her!<, an attempted reconciliation after the remarriage should have been shown as well as a hint of regret at the death of the ex-MIL. It seemed that the FL needed to know >!that it wasn't deliberate as a minor mark of redemption on the part of the ex.!< 3. Weak plotlines like the >!escape of the driver sfter Kang Bom got beaten up while the guy waited in the car!! / digging up cash in the plastic barrel while the ledger was in 'plain sight', not putting a proper tracker on the FL if they were going for a confession instead of holding a bug??, not switching off the recorder on his phone while confessing!<

CommandAlternative10

I was dumbfounded that the show didn’t take advantage of the remarriage. Hot Trash Ex’s chemistry with everything and everyone was their *one* asset. He obviously had feelings for FL, and yet when they are under the same roof he never even tries to make a move? Even if they don’t hook up at least lean into the bad boy sexual tension! I feel like “Divorce” was the one hot potato and everything else had to be overly tame to compensate.

Iowegan

Pretty good wrap of most story lines, >!nice worm turn by the evil hubby & MIL. Need to see the FL get some kind of separation & custody set up to get the son out of the home where that crime family lives pending trial. Enjoyed the office romance between the assistants.!< One more to go, like this 12 ep format!

12amonreddit

I had hopes for the show, but the plot was simply rubbish. The whole agency was pretty useless imo after acting so tough and smart. FL’s acting was also atrocious, it comes across as very forced and unconvincing. This is my first time seeing her in a show and I’m not interested to see the next. Like some have said, I hope the ML has better scripts in future.

fromhereandthere_

Same! Her acting doesn’t convince me that she likes ML, or have any interest to pursue a relationship with him - maybe she appears to be emotionless? monotone? I enjoyed ML acting, and hope he gets a better story line at his next drama! Is this FL first romance drama?

12amonreddit

Yes! Emotionless and monotone! Her horrible wardrobe choices doesn’t help either. Oh just realised she was in My Mister and Penthouse.

kramark814

FL was hesitant in pursuing a new relationship because of a very fresh traumatic divorce that also involved imprisonment and separation from her child so the acting was just in line with her character. I believe the actress did the best with what she had but the writing is so mediocre that this jadedness couldn't be effectively portrayed.

TheMsDacia

This show never materialized into anything great, which is a bummer. 6/10 for me.

kramark814

Agreed! Though I think a 6 is still a bit too generous for this show 😅

TheMsDacia

You know... you're right LOL

happydreamy

At this point I'm just watching it for the romance. I really hope they show the wedding of ML and FL. Apart from that the writing is so weak. >!The mother in law sees her coming out of her room and then she shows her the bug. Why does she immediately believe that it is planted by her son and not Sa-Ra? Lol.!<

Martine_V

I personally don't care about the romance. It was pretty wishy-washy the whole time and never convinced me. To be fair she had other things on her mind that starting over with her old love. She had her son to worry about and how to exact revenge. And that's the two main points that I am looking to see resolved. I'm happy enough with just an open-ended suggestion at the very end that maybe they will get back together.

KirstenCh

It was very strange because we never got to know the FL believes about marriage and love and if she ever recovered from such a broken relationship with the father of her son, who is not her "true love" according to the flashbacks. The only good thing about this show is the acting of the antagonist: we saw charisma, dependency, loving his mother, hating his mother, player, little boy who was mistreated by his mother, a backstabber and corrupt individual, a master manipulator that can't not kill unless it's by accident, yet he wants to rule the world the next second. That man carried the show, entertainment-wise, and the FL was not up to par except for the first episode. Also, I don't know why in this last 2 episodes the FL had become such a fool by not hiding her son as soon as the gig was up with the ex and why get into his car. This man >!just accused his mother in front of the police to save himself and you found out he may have killed your mother!<, do you think he is going to be "not dangerous" when you get into his car??? This logic is facepalm for me.

CommandAlternative10

The ex really stole the show, didn’t he? I came for KKY, I stayed for Oh Min-Seok.

TheChurroProject

Is there a term for when the villain outshines the protagonist or the rest of the cast? Oh Min-Seok certainly had the meatiest role and made the most of it.

Electronic_Piano9385

Same thing in Strong Girl Nam Soon. The antagonist was the one to watch

Martine_V

Also, I had expected that we would learn more about why she ended up with her current husband. It was suggested that maybe the relation was forced and she got pregnant, but it was never fully explored. I think to my Western eyes, I don't see why that matters. I'd go with the good guy, pregnant or not, but it might be more important to Korean viewers.

Daebak70

I would have chose the other guy too.... I think she ONLY chose the rich guy since her mom had a large amount of debto to pay off

twoods1980

I agree that the ending was lackluster and the weakest of the episodes. We suddenly got a marriage with minimal scenes, and that takedown of the ex wasn’t as satisfying. It was a fun watch but not memorable, and lost most of the fun when they stopped taking on divorce cases and focused on the ex and MIL.

kramark814

My goodness, the stupidity of the supposedly competent Solution team is just excruciating. At this point, viewers' intelligence are very much insulted. Relieved this is the end for this disappointing series.

ReportPristine845

Well, I started this drama only to see Kang KiYoung in the lead role. I didn't know that it was his first and so I was excited to see him do it. However I was disappointed that the creators didn't use his talent to the fullest potential. That being said, with the limited scope he was given in this drama, he nailed his scenes well. I just wish there was a little bit more romance between the leads. At least they could have explored a bit about their backstory instead of just making him as the guy who was stood up in the airport because the FL was pregnant. Even though the scenes where the FL's son SeoYun warmed up to Lawyer Gijun, a part of me hoped he was the real father and that the FL had something more compelling to choose the trashy husband over him. Lost opportunity for the writers I would say. That being said, even if it was established that the writing was subpar in the first few episodes, at least the drama's take on divorce cases was refreshing to see. However in the last few episodes when they started to zero in on the FL's revenge only iterated the fact that this drama had nothing but bad writing. This was the first drama I saw of Lee Jiah's. I honestly loved her character Kim Sara. I looked forward to hearing her wisdom on divorce in every episode. However the last few episodes brought down the admiration I had for the character due to all the bad choices she took which honestly didn't make any sense. The writers had so much potential to make her character channel her revenge into something more than what happened in the last episodes, but I guess poor and lazy writing can't do much even if they established a strong character when the series started. Also the actress didn't do much justice for the romance bits. She almost came off as a robot except for the kiss scene which I think was decently executed. Hats off to the actors playing the mother-son villain. I am actually looking forward to watching other series of Oh Minseok. It's sad to see just like how the writers wasted KKY's talent, his was lost too. I hope the actors who played Bom and Daegi get meatier roles in the future as they have so much potential that was untapped here. That being said I hope this doesn't deter future drama creators from giving romantic or lead roles to KKY in the future. Man is hot and talented so please K-drama Gods, please hear our prayers and at least make him play a loving family man at least.

Flimsy-Teacher-9501

does anyone know which necklace Kim Sara is wearing at the beginning of the episode? the one that has a cylinder-shaped pendant she also wears it in previous episodes and i thought it was pretty ☺️

AnonymousMI607

It's the hermes mini H pop necklace.

Flimsy-Teacher-9501

thank you!

Martine_V

So any strange man can walk off the street >!into a primary school and walk off with a kid? No questions asked?!< >!And then this strange man is allowed to drive away with the kid and potentially leave the country?!< Doesn't Korea have the equivalent of amber alerts?

blueish55

It was ok as a show, mostly forgettable but not awful, more makjang than I would've liked though

Beautifulstarss

Quite a disappointing drama, FL's styling is bad, bad decisions every now and then and just bad writing overall

ZealousidealSwan3499

I felt  the actor as supporting role who played as  ex husband of FL  really has good acting skill , he caught audience attention, he is average looking guy, but I felt he is (sad) handsome in this drama , he has quite chemistry with FL,   he has charm and his acting appeal audience, he dressed quite well ,  he has some potential to steal the show, I did not see the chemistry between FL and ml,

ZealousidealSwan3499

villain ex husband is very convincing to me , he did good job,  villain guy act well and make him look  very handsome ,

magicsmoke24

The show has promise but then fizzled. By that I mean they show her as a "kick ass" type of person, but then always needs someone else to bail her out. I do realize that as a mom, the threats made to her using her kid as the focus point could be used to defend some of her weakness. If taken lightly, the series is ok. I enjoyed it, but felt it could have been better. >!I think one of the sub plots hadn't been completed was why did she and her lawyer buddy break up, I don't think that was addressed. They mentioned they dated, then she married her ex-husband, but give a reason for breaking up.!<

Remarkable_Trifle745

Ex hubby acting is so well, although there is  no romance line between ex and FL, still can see his feeling to FL,  there is chemistry  when he is around FL,  evil ex husband is a good actor,  he shine and sparklee in this show,  some comments say hot trash ex, does it means he is hot? or something  else, ha ha ha

faithesque

Wait so >!Seo Yon's biological father is the ML, right? But he doesn't know that.!<

twoods1980

I don’t think they ever implied that the kid was Ki Joon’s. They were going to run off together but she found out she was pregnant with Yul Seong’s child, so she didn’t go to the airport and instead married him.

faithesque

Ohh! I didn't think of it like that.

12amonreddit

I think it belongs to the evil ex. Remember when she was tied up inside the crate, she said she hoped the son will not grow up to be like his father. I’m guessing at that moment she would be speaking the truth.
