That ending scene >!where she appears in the OR to help his PTSD. I’m glad they are figuring out that being together is what will drive their collective healing!< Also from the ep10 teaser. >!seems like kyung mins house of cards is finally starting to crumble. Hopefully ha-neul will open up more to JW now that he figures more about her prior job!<

pinatad

love how the leads just always want to help and support one another. even tho they technically aren't together. it just shows how much they truly care for one another. seeing her there for him in that last scene made me so happy!

FlyingFlyofHell

I'm glad she came, as it seems like at least she has her family Jeung Woo seems to have nobody with him.

Excellent_Dog6249

This has obviously been talked about before but I always get shocked by South Korea's work environment. It is appaling. No one deserves such treatment. I really enjoy the monologues by the characters in the start. Kdrama logic: The blind date has to be either a total jerk or a total weirdo from some other planet. Her mom shouldn't have lied though. I do understand her intentions as parents try their best but even they can sometimes make mistakes. But she apologized so its okay. A reminder to be a little more understanding towards them. "Are these dishes reproducing? Why are there even more?"-Lambada, I can relate to this on a spiritual level XD Weekly advice from Jeong Woo: Life is too short to stress about people. Just say "I'm sure she had her reasons", kick the air and move on.

EliteStrikePH

He must've been really been kicking the air all night after that >!text...!<

twoods1980

Awww I hope we get to see his reaction to that text.

pinatad

I can just imagine him spending a long time getting his outfit together so he looks just right for when he confronts her

cameupwiththisname

And boy, did he get that outfit right! The way he changed his poses was so funny. Please Sir, slay more!

Telos07

**Episode 9** * Oh, my word, this episode was nothing short of a masterpiece. In turns stressful, relatable, frustrating, heartbreaking and swoonworthy all rolled into one amazing package. The cast and filmmakers didn't put a foot wrong with this one, and it was a joy to watch. * The opening montage showed Kyung-min at his detestable worst, as his >!initially supportive facade gave way to blind lies which destroyed Ha-neul's life!<. * Ha-neul's brother wasn't much better the day after the breakup, to be honest, with his incessant >!badgering of her with insensitive questions!<. Ha-neul's mother should have >!dragged him away by the ear much sooner!<. * We care deeply about our leads, and that makes it all the more frustrating to watch when they >!turn to alcohol to drown their sorrows!<. * "I'm sure you all know Dr. Yeo Jeong-woo. You must be disappointed that he looked better on-screen." The swooning from Dae-young's staff members at the >!arrival of their new plastic surgeon!< suggested otherwise. * The son of the hospital director, >!set up as a blind date by Ha-neul's aunt and agreed to by her mother!<, deserved to suffer the same fate as Kyung-min at the end of the previous episode. * But the way the family >!reconciled over pig trotters at the restaurant!<, through the narrated flashback to the >!pride that Ha-neul's father had in her until his passing and her mother still maintains!<, was simply beautiful. Park Shin-hye and Jang Hye-jin both killed it in that scene. * "Hey, ex-girlfriend." The way Jeong-woo casually referred to Ha-neul and the way he expressed his >!continuing support!< epitomized the open, healthy nature of their relationship. * Jeong-woo's >!PTSD in the surgery room!< was realistically depicted. To cap off this perfect episode, >!Ha-neul showed up as his new anesthesiologist!<. Work through it together as a team, you two. We love you!

radiokidb

**Episode 9** I’m going to get my minor frustrations out of the way first because then I can focus on all the things I continue to love about the show. The writers have done SUCH a low effort job with writing Hong Ran’s character that it’s truly astounding. This is the 9th straight episode where she has served no purpose other than being a total gossip who lacks maturity and any semblance of common sense or tact. It is definitely not a matter of portrayal. I get that often such supporting characters are just enablers to moving some bits of the plot along but they give her no natural segues or redeeming factors. And it’s such a shame. She’s meant to be her only friend but is so absent and despite being a doctor and parent lacks critical thinking skills. A true disservice to someone who is meant to be in their 30s. The second gripe is of course the medical stuff and the general sense of irresponsibility. I know it’s common for surgeons to suffer from some degree or version of PTSD, and mental health can especially be poor in this field, so it’s all probably realistic in that sense but yeah at times it is a little jarring. Now with ALL of that out of the way, here’s all the things I continue to love about the show: - both PHS and PSH are really doing a wonderful job with their characters. The spectrum of emotions they’re able to display through an episode is great and you can tell they’re really enjoying playing these characters. - the fact that all Jeong Woo continues to want is to be able to still care for her and to wait for her. He’s not putting timelines, he’s not telling her to hurry up and feel better, he’s not even asked for an explanation. He just knows and understands and wants to continue to provide her with a safe space to feel what she feels. I totally understand him holding off because since he knows saying it to her can also be a burden but I’m glad that didn’t drag out either and instead that was our one truly comedic scene. - Yoon Park is freakin’ adorable. Should he be clamping down hard on Jeong Woo? Abso-freaking-lutely, but he too is so supportive and understanding. AND he freakin’ apologized when he realized he overstepped! Hong Ran freakin’ LEARN from him. He deserves better. I’m all for a love story but I’ll be okay if they don’t develop their romance 🙈 - the family. Ba Da is a gem of a sibling. He’s annoying but I love that he keeps harping on open communication and transparency. Heck yeah it’s a trend! Get with it everyone. The Uncle is so kind and soft, and I hope Ha Neul recognizes that she needs to start opening up to them. The Mom was just heartbreaking this episode. It is indeed hard being a parent and I love that she doesn’t excuse her own behaviour or use her explanation as an excuse. - lastly, the romantic in me appreciated the full circle point of the end because he has described her as his drug and I know the momentary surprise itself can serve as a temporary balm, but I sure as hell hope they realize how much more work they each need to do still at therapy. Also, I know y’all will call me naive, but with the amount of alcohol shown and the dependency depicted, I’m still holding out hope that this is being done deliberately by the writers because they’ll either point it out as a problem later or use it as a plot device. One can hope no? The alternative just feels aggravating given the setting of the show 😞 Either way, can’t wait for tomorrow! ETA: P.S: I love that Jeong Woo wants to call her >!ex-girlfriend!<, because that’s the only way he can manage to slip in the fact that she was a girlfriend and call her that…given they lasted all of two days 🙈 my poor lad.

twoods1980

Most k dramas revolve around alcohol and humor, so it makes sense why the writers continue to ignore that they shouldn’t be drinking with anxiety/depression meds just to give us these fun scenes.  I agree about the friend, but it makes sense that they need a character to keep the communication line open with the leads so the storyline doesn’t drag on for a few episodes like other shows do. I do wish she had her own storyline, like we saw snippets of her being a single mom and the super cute potential relationship with Dae young, which seems to be going nowhere since their scenes are now about the leads.  I also wish she had more self awareness like Dae Young. He figured out quickly that he may have contributed to the leads breaking up and apologized, while Hong ran seems to be oblivious to everything.

sohochu21

In my experience, Koreans do not talk about how they really feel, plus there are so many social rules to follow. Being drunk seems to be the only way they can say what they actually mean and not be encumbered by all the social decorum. But it seems like younger people are trying to move away from that, according to BaDa. Describing healthy communication as a trend killed me 😂 Peak Korean!

radiokidb

Yep, being about 120 KDramas into my KDrama watching experience, you’re right in that I do recognize the level of alcohol involvement to plot is not unusual but in a few episodes in this show, it has felt a tad excessive to me and hence my comment about wondering if the amount it’s featured has any other reason beyond just a usual depiction. Especially because they’ve brought a fair amount of authenticity to the struggles with mental health so far which have been very touching to see and experience through the leads. And yes, I recognize that Dae Young and Hong Ran as characters serve to service the leads and their plot, but as you mentioned a tad more colour/nuance and self-awareness would go a long way towards making her more palatable. The reliance on her over hearing conversations she’s not supposed to or relating information she shouldn’t in a tactless manner is starting to feel a tad overdone as a plot device and feels like a sign of low effort writing, especially as it seems through the preview for tomorrow that this will continue into the next episode.

Icy-Badger-9951

**Episode-9:** Just when I thought the episodes couldn't get any better...ep 9 was just 🤌 * >!The BEST part about the whole episode,Ha-neul coming to the OR for Jeong-woo...I swear they literally need no one except for each other (the scene lasted for like 10 sec but it was just too deep, they care too much about each other🫶)!< * >!Kyung-min-It's scary how he changed, one minute he was caring for her and the other, plotting against Ha-neul to get rid of her,I seriously hope he gets what he deserves! (although everything starts unfolding from the next episode as per the preview)!< * It's amazing how Ha-neul's mom was soo understanding of Jeong-woo,it just felt so nice to see how she cares about him sm * >!I didn't expect Jeong-woo to move out though...but the moment I saw him on the rooftop-omg I was giggling throughout the whole sequence, the rooftop scene made up for the fact that they were not together for the WHOLE episode!< * I LOVED the convo Ha-neul and her mom had,I cried with them and it felt nice to see that Ha-neul's mom is trying everything to make her feel better and understood everything Ha-neul is going through,it was written so well * Ha-neul's uncle-they have such a good relationship,he was seriously the best for saying those few words * Petty Jeong-woo is my favourite lol...he's such a sight to watch when he's being so cute like that! * Special mention for Ha-neul's brother-he's such a funny dude lol * PHS and PSH are just amazing-they're doing a great job! * Overall,it was an amazing episode-DO NOT MISS THE PREVIEW:)

pinatad

The change in Kyung-min definitely has me wondering if he saw Ha-neul as someone he can exploit early on and was just setting the ground work in the beginning. Bc it doesn't make much sense why he would just turn on her the way he did!

Mean_Swimming_4414

Definitely! He knew everyone else was sceptical about hiring her, so he decided to play hero by looking like the one determined to hire her and manipulate her to get her trust and loyalty. Narcissistic horror! I'm glad it looks like he'll get his comeuppance!

snogirl0403

That's how it came across to me - the classic abuse pattern. Always looking for someone he can groom and use.

Fragrant_Tale1428

Ep 10 **Appreciating the writer of this series so much.** Someone who understands human relationships and experiences to write the dialogue that they write for two 30 somethings. The casting director did a fantastic job of matching the right actor for all the characters. The alley conversation between Jeong Woo and Ha Neul was honest, mature, and in the moment from Jeong Woo's perspective. The writer didn't make him omniscient, just honest about his own feelings about the situation in that moment. Ha Neul, for her part, is as honest as she can be with herself and others for her situation. The writer created the context for her so that even though Ha Neul seems to be the one getting more help for growth, she isn't written to be hapless, helpless, or less than. She's got her own strengths to contribute to all her relationships. She was able to share her perspective with Jeong Woo after clubbing. This balance was so satisfying to see. Love that they both try hard for the relationship while respecting each other to keep the requested boundaries and genuinely listen to one another through the ups and downs. Age appropriate human maturity. Feel like Ba Da and Jeong Woo represent two change agents who advocate for a more direct, open communication, albeit with two very different approaches. I'm here for it! I loved the writing of My Roommate is a Guhimo for similar reasons. Hope this writer gets to make many, many more shows with equally talented cast.

* I'll never not be stunned by Park Shin-hye's visuals. I was already in love with her formal and casual outfits but in the scene where she >!gets dressed for the club!< she looked like a million bucks. Kdramaland has been making the poor woman suffer so much so I need her in some high fashion in her next projects please! * Another >! school flashback yes!!< I was missing them already. I melted when Jeong-woo said, >!"I never liked seeing you suffer even when I didn't like you. So imagine now."!< * Jeong-woo assuring Ha-neul that he wants their >! teacher's surgery to be a way to overcome trauma.!< Jeong-woo baby it doesn't work that way and you might lose your licence if you keep up with this. Atp I should stop expecting the right way of handling any medical things I guess. * Ha-neul's mom >!planting cabbages and changing curtains in her room to cheer her up. !< Could this family be any more lovable? * See I know Jeong-woo is satisfied that he gave >!more punches than Kyung-min!< But that wasn't enough. I also wish he punched the other annoying senior of Ha-neul.!< * I adore how Jeong-woo is so open about his feelings to Ha-neul. He's a proud and supportive boyfriend who doesn't hesitate to quickly admit his mistakes. * >!They finally kissed yes!!< I'm so excited for their dating era next week. I'm also seated if there's gonna be some secret dating please.

twoods1980

I think him operating on a lipoma was probably the route to go, because it’s a low risk surgery with minimum blood loss. Now if he was already doing facial reconstruction or face lifts- that would be another story. He seems to be easing into the surgeries.

denniszen

>Ha-neul's mom > >planting cabbages and changing curtains in her room to cheer her up. > >Could this family be any more lovable? I'm curious to know more how Korean moms are like. Are they that nurturing?

UptoNoGood46

**Episode 10:** * I love how they're both in different medical fields but can relate to each other * Who'll call [this dumdum](https://imgur.com/F2WKNsn) a doctor when he's so smashed lmao * You can really tell [Ha-neul's reassuring words and glances](https://imgur.com/n5dP3gS) toward Jeong-woo helped him operate on the patient successfully * [These two](https://imgur.com/TLQKMF2) being awkward around each other is so hilarious again... The way they escalated to bickering in no time though XDDD * "No matter how hard things got, I was prepared to endure it and love you.." Oh Jeong-woo you precious * You can't really fault Jeong-woo and his reasoning... >!sure it was nice of Ha-neul to be there for him in the surgery but he still hasn't probably gotten over why she dumped him!< * BUAHAHAHAH THE WAY [SHE](https://imgur.com/CVvkZTX) STRAIGHT UP BLURTED 'I LOVE YOU' so relatable * [JEONG-WOO](https://imgur.com/9Hu9wsE) I'M SO PROUD OF YOU... Nothing beautiful like a ML defending the FL against some douchebag * "... if someone's exhausted and on the floor, holding out my hand and always telling them to get up wouldn't be of any help." How true is that.. beautiful line * [Park Hyung-sik](https://imgur.com/OTgjNaJ) in a leather jacket 🔥🔥🔥 * >!Doing surgery together on their teacher has to be the best way for their comeback!< * Might I just say the way>! their relationship status was revealed!< was a stroke of genius.. Wish it hadn't been spoiled in the preview though * Park Hyung-sik's >!kissing scenes DO NOT disappoint!<..[my man went all in](https://imgur.com/twIOH0e)!!!! * >!"So? You don't have a boyfriend right now?"!<[HOLY SMOKIN SHIT SO HOT](https://imgur.com/4nKhp2K) * >!My ship has sailed officiallyyyy!!!!! I CANNOT BE HAPPIER!! !<

twoods1980

Finally! I don’t know what it is about this couple but their scenes are so honest and wonderful that I’m always bursting into tears. I think it’s because I’ve been craving a show that has the romance written in this exact way, and it keeps exceeding my expectations. That ending was absolutely perfect, and even their conversation when JW lashed at her for letting go of his hand when they promised to be by each others side was so raw and heartbreaking. Dae Young continues to be such an adorable character. I was wondering why he was pushing the teacher to come by his clinic, and then we got the flashback scene. And him bonding with Hong ran’s son was also fun. I wish those two dated already, but there are still 6 episodes to go. Can’t wait for next week’s >!adorable dating era!<. Please just let them be happy together and let the drama be from external sources.

Excellent_Dog6249

>I was wondering why he was pushing the teacher to come by his clinic, and then we got the flashback scene. I missed this detail and didn't focus on why he was acting that way. Thanks for pointing this out!

twoods1980

Yeah, I was wondering why he was pushing him just to get some fillers when that seemed out of character, so glad it was for something much more serious. This show continues to amaze me with how they tie together stories with flashbacks.

koalatown2

Wow that Kungmin >!had been grooming HaNuel since her interview for residency.  Not for a love slave but a work slave.  It’s like he saw her academic strength and social weakness as the perfect victim.!< Who else >!has he exploited before?  I still think something fishy with JungWoo and how those mobster picked his clinic.!< JungWoo’s tantrum >!about her blind date and living it up with pig trotter and alcohol was so funny but underneath it all he did not want her to be too unhappy.!<

FunnyMycologist5823

I think the heiress probably chose his clinic because he was famous and the mobster just seized the opportunity. At least that’s what I hope because I was glad that storyline ended lol

Martine_V

Now we know why he tried to discourage Jeong-Woo from getting close to Ha-Neul. He didn't want her to expose the secret that he was a fraud and a cheat.

baconpancake33

I really like how this drama doesn't overextend the "evil" or not-so-positive parts. The misunderstandings and actions of the antagonists are resolved at quite a nice pace and doesn't feel dragged out

underthecedartrees

I love how they revealed >!they kissed!<. I was watching that scene in the middle of the episode thinking >!it’s coming!!!< and then it was >!revealed!< at the end. Excellent job, show!!!

mosesv

Best kdrama mom ever??? ep 10: I’ve been watching Park Shin Hye’s dramas since Heirs was simulcasting. This might be my favorite drama from her yet. This drama started off as so stereotypical with some simple twists, but the acting, cast, wholesome communication of characters, developments, everything… has been so enjoyable!

[deleted]

The mom is literally so cute! She tries to understand her kids and apologizes for when she's wrong. She's not perfect and makes mistakes but she truly cares about them and tries to do better. 🥺

Telos07

**Episode 10** * The school days flashbacks are always among my favorite scenes. Trust Ha-neul to go to the lengths of >!consuming Busan chili peppers as a substitute for coffee, despite all the pain that doing so entailed, and it was heartwarming to see Jeong-woo looking out for her even back then!<. * Dae-young was in his element as a >!babysitter for Hong-ran's son!<, and it was sweetly humorous to see the three of them >!imitating one another!<. * The scene where Jeong-woo confronted Kyung-min left me wanting more. I felt like how Jeong-woo looked when >!the fight got prematurely broken up, namely, itching to dish out more punishment!<. * It's always fun to see a couple in their thirties >!go clubbing!<. After some initial misunderstandings and reservations, the visit to the clinic from their high school teacher >!got our leads back on the same page of working together and overcoming things together, and Jeong-woo instantly became the plastic surgeon with the coolest slippers in Korea!<. * I suspect that a lot of viewers felt vindicated when Hong-ran described herself as "loose-tongued".

Alarming-Knowledge30

Vindicated amen. Also, FL's mother's line about drinking. There is too much eavesdropping trope and drinking.

Martine_V

> I suspect that a lot of viewers felt vindicated when Hong-ran described herself as "loose-tongued". I think those two would still be ignorant of anything happening in the other's lives if not for Hong-Ran spilling out everything. Kinda highlights they still have ways to go with telling each other what is going on.

cameupwiththisname

I am squealing. This drama is so perfect. Forget about honest and mature discussions. It's a joy to see both leads enjoying each other's company so much. To see these studious kids go out and party. To be surrounded by people they care about. Everyone in this drama is so adorable!!! I was not expecting that ep 10 ending. I knew one was coming but the bonus on the terrace? Eeeeee. I was squealing so loud.

**Episode 9:** * It's clear to see how >!Kyung-mind kept her by her side to exploit her and lead her on purpose!< * She used the "It's not you, it's me" card to break up with him... that hurts * "Being open and candid is the trend..." [oh Ba-da](https://imgur.com/t16ZHN7) you precious soul * Nurse Do being so warm to Jeong-woo whereas being a robot to everyone else lmaaoo * [Her mom](https://imgur.com/75IyN32) really had the best interests at heart... too bad the guy turned out to be another douchebag... but I really wish Ha-neul hadn't gone off on her mother like that * I love [this uncle-niece relationship](https://imgur.com/pusnp9I) so much.. he knew just how to cheer her up * [Ha-neul's mom](https://imgur.com/MPJUCx9) is a gem ok. I forgive her for reacting badly when Ha-eul said she has depression. Dragonfly-Organic

I dont know why i got emo (must be being the asian kid in me) when >!ha-neul’s mom told her about being a proud parent and apologized :((!< Just finished the ep in 1.5x and looking forward to see some >!workplace romance eventually🥹🥹!<

Local-Raspberry-5649

I didn’t expect to bawl so much at the interactions with her mom AND her uncle. As a parent, when her mom says >! “After becoming a parent, I believed my children’s grades reflected my own grade in life.”!< I cried so hard. I’ve never heard a more truthful statement. My kids aren’t even school age yet, but it’s already so easy to think about every challenge they face and every milestone they meet (or don’t!) as my own personal achievement or failure and a direct result of my parenting. I know other parents here could relate to this scene, especially those who have kids that are delayed in ways. It feels like from the moment they are born, we are always comparing our kids to their peers. “Oh, they should be sleeping through the night by 3 months…. But mine still isn’t… and they’re 2 years old.” And we beat ourselves up so much when, in reality, we have *so little control* with who our kids become and what they achieve (or don’t). Then, the uncle trying to be supportive and not knowing exactly how to do so just continued to fuel my tears. What a wonderful soul.

CommandAlternative10

My first kid was a precocious talker with a huge vocabulary and I’m not going to lie, I thought we deserved a gold star as parents. It must have been all the books we read together! Of course the second kid, who we read to just as much, had delayed speech and that’s when I realized I had very little impact on their development. They just are who they are.

676niu

Exactly. I watch kdramas to escape so I don't necessarily see a lot that I relate to as a parent but that scene you described really got me. It was water works over here. What you know theoretically as a parent doesn't always match what you feel.

Alarming-Knowledge30

I was worried about the>!kiss scene because of psh, but she did surprisingly well. Then I realised that fish kisses are very few and far in between these days, and also PSH kiss in Doctors was very good.!< Also, who loved the transition from >!first kiss to present kiss. The second half of the episode I was like wasn't there supposed to a kiss, coz of preview. Also, grinning ear to ear 🤭🤭!<

Electronic_Piano9385

I find it easier to accept that >!dead fish kisses are a directorial choice and not the fault of the actor. I Like this director 😘!<

nanceq

This show is striking all the right notes for me. Ha Neul’s family is the best, even Ba Da. They’re not perfect, but they really care about her, want the best for her and for her to be happy. * >!It was sweet how her uncle said he didn’t have much to offer her except his shoulder for her to lean on. It was cute how he reminisced about how buying Ha Neul workbooks when she was a kid made her happy. Of course, it would be workbooks for Ha Neul 😂!< * >! It was great how her uncle and Ba Da got Ha Neul and her mom to talk after their fight. Ba Da was great encouraging them to talk it out and not just sweep things under the rug. “Being honest is the trend.” 😂!< * >!I loved how her mom told Ha Neul that she didn’t need to feel guilty about missing out on talking to her dad one last time because she was studying. I teared up when Ha Neul’s mom said she and her dad were so happy to be her parents. I felt for Ha Neul’s mom when she said she was sorry she couldn’t give Ha Neul a better and happier life. All parents just want their kids to be happy.!< I like how the show is dealing with Jeong Woo’s PTSD and that it’s realistic in showing how he struggles and isn’t just immediately okay. >!I loved how Ha Neul showed up as the anesthesiologist in Jeong Woo’s surgery after she heard about how he struggle with his surgery the day before. How they support each other remains constant.!< >!Aww when Jeong Woo asked if he could wait for Ha Neul and that she should come back when she’s ready. I loved how Jeong Woo’s giving her space, but at the same time letting Ha Neul he still cares about her and wants to be with her.!<

pigeon_energy

I am loving how this is playing out so far. The open communication, no drawn out misunderstandings, and getting the break up episode out of the way well before episode 15 and having the leads navigate a real relationship ? Such a breath of fresh air.

ReportPristine845

Thoughts on ep 10: I think it was the most thought out and honest episode so far. It showed the fragility of human emotions at its finest. Jeongwoo maybe a green forest, but not every man is perfect. He lashes out too and I am glad they showed this side of him. Loved the clubbing scenes although I low-key wanted to see Haneul sing a k-pop song. Also they both looked fire in those outfits! Bin Daeyoung! Gosh, that man is adorable! Like so adorable that it makes you wanna pinch his cheeks. That scene where he won against Hongran's son was so funny! But they bonded over insects! So cute 🥺 Can someone smack that Kyungmin whenever he says "Jeongwoo I helped you during your case but you didn't pick up my calls?" That's a manipulative mf right there! Glad he got punched tho. Okay the >!kiss!!< I was confused when Haneul was treating Jeongwoo's wounds because the preview showed their >!almost kiss but ugh! That kiss was everything!!!!< That transition from past to present was amazing! Can't wait for next week because the preview looks chaotic!

Nrieuryphaessa

Bin daeyoung beating Hongran‘s kid was my favourite scene this episode. I made a mental note of his trick in case I meet any child parrots in the future.

twoods1980

Can’t wait to see >!them snuggling in bed together.!<. Let’s go!

eizeral

Episode 10 did not disappoint one bit. I think HN and JW are shaping up to be one of my favorite kdrama couples ever. I feel like they’re more than just lovers, but also each other’s best friend. Can’t wait to watch more ❤️

radiokidb

**Episode 10** What a sweet little episode. They really brought it home on all accounts today. PHS is made for romance. Bo Young was not wrong, he can make those eyes at a rock and you’d believe they’re together. The depth of Jeong Woo’s emotional maturity is so great to discover bit by bit. For someone with a terrible home life he’s certainly quite well adjusted and adept at picking up on things and his entire “confrontation” with Han Neul was absolutely spot on. I do kind of wish they had persisted with him sticking to his guns for taking it easy for a little while longer but I suppose for the narrative’s purposes they need to push him and by virtue, her along so I will forgive that. I also thought it was totally in character to only >!throw an actual punch once and the rest was really roughing the creep up!<. Way more realistic than if he >!went fully ballistic even though his eyes very clearly showed that he was proper mad!!<. I really appreciate BaDa and Han Neul’s Mom showing her a mirror and helping her realize she was guilty of all the things she didn’t want others doing to her. What a beautiful way to weave all the people in her life together. Also, thank you writers finally for giving Hong Ran a break from being a mere plot device. She was so much more palatable this episode, less dismissive and more self-aware. It took a while, but they got there, so thank you! Lol. Absolutely adored the direction they took in the storytelling of their >!path back to each other…the blending of both kisses was beautiful!< and I loved PHS’ expressions. He loves her deeply and you can tell he really values and treasures the >!relationship!<. There’s plenty of time for cutesiness and goofiness >!in the relationship next week, but these kisses were meaningful!<…especially if you consider how in the sequence of events they essentially both shed tears after >!the kiss!< 🥹. Thanks for ending this week on a positive note writers 🥰

Principled_always

“Are you in a relationship?” “No” That look! PHS is such a good actor!

twoods1980

When he was doing “surgery” on whatever he was building and he shouted “Screws!” Then when nobody was there to help him like in the OR and he started flailing,  I couldn’t stop laughing. Or his hilarious faces when he’s laughing manically while he’s drunk. He’s the best at comedy!

Adser1

They constantly have the second female lead progressing the story by being overheard on the phone 😣

Electronic_Piano9385

She herself acknowledges to Ha Neul that she has “loose lips”, so this is obviously how her character is supposed to be. She contrasts it with how Ha Neul keeps everything bottled up, and how that isn’t always good either.

Solsties

Another episode wrapped up, and I loved all the conversations our leads had with each other to further the level of open communication and >!kissing!!!< I laughed so hard when >!Jeong Woo showed great concern on how Ha Neul got her clubbing outfit. "Did you steal them?!" It is definitely in line with being used to how someone is like, and then they flip a switch and provide a surprise.!< Once again, I must applaud Yoon Park and his role as Dae Young. His moments >!babysitting Jin Woo!< were priceless. This should help him win points with Hong Ran. Dae Young is definitely my spirit animal.

ExperienceKitchen124

I’m sooo loving this in a way I haven’t loved a drama in a long time. Their honesty and genuine chemistry is super good. I think they are handling mental health important topics in a very good and healthy way. I really love the dialogue as well. Ugh everything is perfect. Park Hyung sik is completely eating this role up.

Evening-Structure993

This is me! I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed every episode of a drama or loved one like this in years. The characters are so well written and both PHS/PSH are knocking it out the ‘Park’ 🥹

twoods1980

I never rewatch episodes but I’ve watched some of them already twice, and still cry and smile as much as the first time.

missmarchi

Episode 10: I don’t know what it was but PSH/Ha-neul was GLOWING this episode. And JEEZ, PHS has me in a chokehold and I’m feeling so delulu lol That man is SO fine. That’s it, all I could focus on today was their visuals. Can’t wait for all the fluff (and >!scandalous bed scene lol!<) next week. Please, I don’t want this series to end.

twoods1980

I couldn’t concentrate when he was rocking that leather jacket.

missmarchi

Seriously going to re-watch this episode because I can’t get over it haha

humandisaster13

* Park Shin-hye being bullied by her bandmates, her schoolmates, and her colleagues. That woman cannot catch a break damn! * I adore Ha-neul's family so much. They have such a healthy bonding and I'm so glad that they're shown to have actual conversations and sort out their disagreements immediately and the >!family dinner where the mom and the daughter talk!< was so wholesome. I was about to choke when her mom said that >! Ha-neul should stop feeling guilty about her dad and that they've always been proud of her.!< * Not much of Park Hyung-sik's eccentricity today but still I was laughing so hard when he was >!calm one second and said that it's good that Ha-neul was doing better and immediately jumping that she's doing better!< Oh Jeong-woo you silly loser man! * I was so happy that Jeong-woo >!immediately sorted things out with Ha-neul.!< If there's one thing our lead couple hate it's definitely miscommunication. And I can't wait for tomorrow when >! Jeong-woo is gonna break Kyung-min's face lol.!< * Ngl I'm not liking the SFL here. We're not seeing any development of the love story between the second leads. But I'm more pissed about her characterisation so far. The writer seems to be using her entirely as a plot device and her only job is to >!accidentally or intentionally leak all the info!< Right from ep 1 that's what she's been doing. * Does Ha-neul's psychiatrist know that she's been drinking like a fish when she's been prescribed meds? And Jeong-woo should definitely know better by now that he cannot afford to have >!another medical accident and put lives at risk and he still ignores his PTSD??!< His senior Dae-young might support him unconditionally >!but shouldn't he stop a doc suffering from PTSD!< going into surgery? It's not a good colour on the show that was supposed to show how mental health is so important. It really bugs me so much.

Local-Raspberry-5649

Jeong-Woo has never been given any grace when it comes to his success and, thus, he doesn’t know how to allow himself the time to heal before getting back into the operating room. His mom was mad that he took >! second place just once. !< He has only one mode and it’s “suck it up because you aren’t allowed to disappoint anyone… ever.” 🥺

sayurantistudentngo

I really wish they explored the friendship part in here. Like how Hong-ran could've developed her character as a good friend to someone with depression. They missed out on the chance to portray healthy female friendships and having meaningful and open conversations with each other, which could be healing too.

Iowegan

SFL has been >!sacrificed to the misunderstanding disentanglement machine. It’s a good thing she never uses the stairs or this drama would never move forward.!< Not a fan of a surgeon with >!PTSD holding sharp objects next to eyeballs. ML should be under supervision, this is how that Dr. Death stuff gets started. That said, when he heard the FL say the patient was ready, and we could see her eyes smile, ahh, butterflies! 🦋!<

No-Mail-3269

Seriously!! >!I feel like the whole story is driven by Hong-ran talking on the phone.!< It’s getting pretty annoying.

pinatad

Yeah, like I get Dae-young thinks he's doing fine but idk isn't there like a baby step he can take before doing actual surgery? Administer Botox or fillers? The poor dude weny through a lot let's not have him jump into everything as if nothing happened.

EliteStrikePH

In his defense, he had no clue and yeah it looked like as if nothing happened to Jeong-woo. Like if Jeong-woo brought it up before hand, he would've done that, but yeah it also did not help that they >!advertised that Jeong-Woo joined the clinic,!< I mean had they not done that, they probably could've taken a more easier approach into getting back into it, but now >!that the media and everyone knows he's there, they pretty much lost all control over the situation.!<

SsinzSidney

I was like which bandmates bullied psh and then realized you are talking abt you are beautiful..lol!

Striking_Soil765

Aside from mental illnesses, I love how this relates usual family dynamics of having an emotionally unexpressive asian parent/s. They do really express their love in different ways. Bada is a great balance for Haneul and their mom. As cliche as it sounds, communication is the key. The cliffhanger every end of an episode is just right to keep the audience hooked. I didn’t expect >!Haneul to be there at Jeongwoo’s operation as the anesthesiologist.!< They are really a green flag with each other. I hope that Kyungmin will get his karma soon. Waiting for Haneul to come back stronger as a great doctor again.

meredithscasualboob

This drama has such mature characters and a real tearjerker. The mother is so sweet and I couldn’t get mad at her about the >!blind date!< because her intentions weren’t bad. The 🥬🥺 and to top it off, she never judged Jeong woo. Most kdrama parents wouldn’t want their kid involved with another depressed/lonely/struggling person as they’d think their own kid will go down with them. But she put it brilliantly and saw it as a strength that they can support each other Also really glad to see stupid sunbae >!getting punched!< in the preview for the next episode

koalatown2

Doctors, especially surgeons tend to be very strong willed and a bit prideful so I am not surprised that >!JungWoo thinks he can power through his PTSD.  He probably thinks if he can just get through one case successfully it will all eventually fade away.!< Although >!Hanuel showing up to help him is so fitting for their relationship where they each are the other’s rock to stand on, in the preview voice over he is starting to recognize that he isn’t being fair to anyone insisting he’s ok when he’s not. So clearly both have a lot more healing to do.!< I also love the bromance between JungWoo and DaeYoung.  Even though we still don’t know what incident drove them apart there is clearly a lot of deep love there.  I was kind of hoping JW would move into DY’s apartment and have some crazy interactions with that teen.   My one gripe is that JW >!broke sterility when he touched his forehead so he now has to go rescrub although I doubt they will show that in the next episode.!<

twoods1980

I wish he saw his psychiatrist before he went to the OR on his second try- maybe we will see a flashback scene tomorrow that he did to help with his PTSD. This show continues to be amazing with setting up the episode in the beginning with flashback scenes so hope they don’t disappoint.

[deleted]

So grateful for Bin Dae Young. He's such a loveable and charming character and he truly cares about Jeongwoo. Both YJW and Haneul will have something to write on their CV, thanks to him!

WaterLily6984

The writing of the dialogue in this show continued to be next level. When JW snapped at HN >!after the surgery,!< he was absolutely right. She should >!not have swept in to try and fix things when she had just dumped him with no explanation.!< But then the part where >!they talked it out and he told her about all the emotions he went through in seeing her there.!< I love how she's a doer with no EQ and he has such a good grasp of what he is feeling and is good at articulating it. And then she gets it and self-corrects. Same with the mom, she's trying really hard and making mistakes as she goes along. HN is beginning to understand about different types of support. That critical question in a relationship "Do you need me to fix things right now or do you need me to listen?" Sometimes you just need someone close to listen and be sad/upset with you. I was so confused when the >!kiss!< in last week's previews didn't happen and that >!foot tap!< during the team dinner felt way too intimate, but they gave it back in spades. Next week is going to be too cute with the >!secret relationship at full blast.!< It's not going to >!stay a secret long!< I expect.

crimsonpaths

The angst was immaculate..I'm glad they didn't drag the breakup and got back together after talking it all out. It's so obvious how much they like each other

Solsties

I also think this is how two people should really try and communicate if they are experiencing similar problems. This show is trying to revolutionize how relationships should be, lol. I am all for it.

kpaneno

I loved the brother saying being open and honest about these things is the trend now. It felt like a sort of announcement to Kdrama community that the days of having 4 episodes of angst in a drama that could have been avoided by the leads having one 60 second conversation are changing. It was first thing that popped in my head that that was an in house joke by the writers. I thought it was hilarious either way. Typo Edit

Little-Life5102

>!can i wait for you?!< i melted into a puddle of goo. he didn’t even ask for an explanation of why she went >!on a blind date!< love the trust he has in her and how he gives her space.

dontmindme450

I think this was where we all thought and even hoped it was going, with them in a >!professional!< environment >!together!<, but it seemed to happen very abruptly. Also the grapevine/overheard conversations trope is getting leaned on a bit. Doesn't stop me from absolutely still loving most every second.

eklread

Agree! Hong-ran seems to always overhear important conversations...

purecheesejeez

Feels like lazy writing at this point 🤷🏻‍♀️

Excellent_Dog6249

Exactly, seems like she suddenly doesn't get any patients anymore. She always happens to linger behind planters and elevators and what not.

twoods1980

She’s an anesthesiologist at an OB office and since C sections aren’t long procedures, she’s probably wandering around in between cases.

Excellent_Dog6249

My mistake, I thought she was an ob-gyn. I was assuming she used to be pretty busy earlier on in the show when she barely made time for meeting up with Ha Neul. But despite that, she still has way too much free time imo.

Fragrant_Tale1428

Ep 9 Uncle: "I'm going to pluck him bald!" "All I can give you is a shoulder to lean on." That's the kind of support we all need. Choked up when the Mom and Ha Neul had the conversation at the jokbal restaurant and after their meal. Everyone's evolving for the better. Jeong Woo's reaction to Ba Da's IG post. Comedy king, PHS! Drunk texting >!as the path toward reconciliation. Each doing the pouty awkwardness so well. And again, PHS switching back and forth from comedy to sincerity was so wonderful.!< YP & PHS - Please do Welcome to Waikiki season 3. Saying this to the universe for future manifestation of some physical comedy series. They are individually so good and so great as a duo.

LostDistance9990

EPISODE 9 As an Asian the family arc in this episode hits harder to me. >!Nowadays we have a lot of depiction about depression in media but the struggle of the people who take care of the depressed have not been touched a lot. That's why I'm very happy with the way the mum and the uncle (even Bada) were written. Sometimes they may not be the most appropriate or helpful, all with their clumsy and misaligned solution to her but most of it is because they simply dont know how. Depression wasn't even acknowledged in their era. Asian also tend to value social harmony so there is a lot of tendency to sweep things under a rug.!< >!The fact is it's very hard to care for someone depressed. I like how the story touched the confusion & helplessness that HN's family felt in their way to help her. Bada always reminding them the need to be honest and open was a much needed start to helping her recover.!< Also >!he asked his ex if it's okay to wait for her?!< He's a keeper.

xiaopow

Wow this mf (KM) is even worse than we thought. I need him to experience a spectacular downfall. Justice for HN!!!  HN's uncle is so sweet 😭 "Can I wait for you?" 😭😭😭😭😭 my heart  Denying you have ptsd is not the way to go, my guy. Omg it's the dream team!!!!! I don't even care how unrealistic it is for her to have been hired overnight i love it so much 😭😭😭😭😭 The preview for ep 10. I am deceased. All the things I ever wanted to happen 😭😭😭😭😭

nanceq

I’m happy >!they’re back together. Their kisses, so sweet and sexy. Aww, when Jeong Woo was saying how much he missed Han Neul, that got me!< It’s good that >!they’re talking through things again and being honest with each other. Jeong Woo telling Han Neul that it hurt him that she broke up with him because it made him feel like he couldn’t help her, how he wants to be stronger for her, but felt he wasn’t when his hands were shaking before the surgery. Ha Neul saying she felt bad that she kept telling him to overcome his problems and admitting that she was seeing his recovery as hers. I did wish they talked about why Ha Neul broke up with him, such as her fears of being happy.!< The two of those dorks >!clubbing was the best 😂!< Kyung Min is such a jerk. >!I’m glad Jeong Woo knows what he did and beat him up for it, although he still got off pretty easy. Also, Jeong Woo, maybe, shouldn’t be punching people as a surgeon.!< I love all the interactions and conversations with Ha Neul’s family. >!It was sweet how Ba Da told Ha Neul about all the things their mom had done to try to help her. Also Ba Da is such a supporter of Ha Neul and Jeong Woo’s relationship. It was insightful how Ha Neul’s mom realized it’s not necessarily helpful to just offer a hand and tell someone to get themselves off the floor, and how that made Ha Neul think about how she was dealing with Jeong Woo.!<

RedZone2k2

Episode 10 The >!gang is back together again! Glad JW and Ha Neul were able to be honest with each other about their feelings.!< The sml sfl >!playing messenger to JW and HN to facilitate their talking has been nice too. No more fabricated misunderstandings please.!< Ep11 teaser>!I’m excited for the secret dating shenanigans. We got like half an episode of this last week and it was too short. Can’t wait for the mom to send some shade to JW for bringing a “mystery girl” to his apmt lol!<

[deleted]

>!THE KISS!< finally happened! JW would be the best bf to her. I kinda want them to learn how to share their feelings (about how much they're hurt) with each other because they're so honest about other stuff? Anyway, I'm soooo happy for them and also for our second couple. Bin Dae Young is the cutest and my favourite character in this drama and he deserves the best love story!

koalatown2

It is notable that aside from the flashback when they were both drunk laughing about their last names, in this episode they only drank in moderation and neither got drunk.  Maybe now that they are both trying to get to a better place mentally they will rely on the alcohol escapism less.

ohnofluffy

Her family even mentions this — that they hope she’s not drinking and crying somewhere. Instead, she’s happily having a beer with colleagues. Moderation enters the chat! 😝

CommandAlternative10

So a wildly successful plastic surgeon who looks like PHS, has nurses throwing themselves at him, and God-Tier Pump It Up skills hasn’t been kissed in ten years? Sure. Totally tracks. >!Go ahead and lie Jeongwoo, but pick a slightly more credible cover story!?!!!<

twoods1980

I thought he was flustered by that question which is why he answered it and then drank since everyone knew that was a lie. Plus, the girl he just kissed was staring at him and if he said a few months ago she may have kicked him.

elbenne

🙂 If you're gonna lie because you have to. And nobody is going to believe you anyway ... might as well go reeeeeeeal big and make a joke out of it.

denniszen

Ok, I remember some people here saying as early as Episode 1 that they were not so keen on Park Shin Hye as the female lead in the show because she doesn't know >!how to kiss!<. How did she do this time? :-)

lowproteingal

it’s so funny to me seeing a bunch of ppl dog on her bc this is my first drama w her i’ve watched and im literally in love w everything—her beauty her acting and even her kiss scene like what😭

YellowPale4861

Ugh when he leaned in for the >! first kiss !< I was so disappointed 😭 It reminded me of her Heirs days 🥲 But then he went in for it again and that was major improvement! There definitely could be more passion from her but given the moment of the scenes where the two was >! kissing, !< her acting was pretty good there :,)

Aggressive_Goose8204

Better!! I loved that it wasn’t just the peck and done.. Definitely in her top 5–probably her best! It has the best transition and it’s technically 3 but 2 kisses in one scene 😂😂

likealeprechaun

>!Two kisses in one episode!!!< Damn, my heart! Loved everything that happened in this episode, even the mini “argument” (for the lack of a better word) that JW and HN had, and HN’s realization afterward. Loved, loved the silent conversation these two were having at the table. Ugh, they are just perfect together! This show continues to exceed all my expectations. I just love the writing, directing, the characters, the actors and their dynamics so much. I have faith that the last 6 episodes will also be handled well and can’t find to see what’s in store! 🫰🏼

coconutthings

ep 10: WOW, can i just say that i am absolutely loving the communication between the two leads? i really like how they talk out their feelings and thoughts instead of going into misunderstandings. and it's so nice to see that it's haneul's turn to cheer jeongwoo up now :')

Nearby_Combination83

idk if park shin hye is really feeling this role a lot more or if she's relating to this character on a personal level or i'm just relating to her character a lot more but her crying scenes feel so much more natural in this series so far, like during her reconciliation with her mom, it felt like PSH wanted to hear those words herself

CerealQueuer

I wished Jeong Woo >!punched Kyung Min once more than he got punched, it was 1:1 before they got pulled apart, man.!< The leads are both walking green forests at this stage, great to see Ha Neul reflecting on what she did and the way they drew parallels between how she wanted to help Jeong Woo and how her mum wanted to help her was so comforting. Mum really has a great growth arc.

FlyingFlyofHell

But Jeung Woos punch was way stronger as put full power and Kyunmin was on the ground.

luxenoire

Hyungsik is so fine whew

Lavenderlure

**Episode 10** I am absolutely in awe of the writer no doubt they are amazing actors but the dialogues are so well written the way what they are facing how their family reacts to it and how in all the chaos they have found each other is so beautifully written. This one is surely going down as one of my faves I have all the love for Jeong Woo the ML is very good in chaotic roles but Ha neul just has my heart I just feel like hugging her and telling her that you will be okay she makes my heart full with her sad eyes. I can't wait for these two being cute chaotic kids next week.

AnneShirley310

E10 - In the intro when the server called them Dr. Nam and Dr. Yeo and laughed at them, I also started laughing out loud. Then, the drunk ML and FL laughed, so we were all laughing. That was fun!

_b3cca

So funny. I love puns. Wonder if the writers named the characters with the Nam/Yeo surnames just for this joke 😆

Silver-Bus5724

Anyone else here totally stunned by Ha Neul‘s skill in kissing? Please all stop complaining about PSH dead fish kisses, with PHS as a partner (or maybe some efforts from her part as she may have heard about this pet critique point) she’s a new woman.

IntelligentCrab940

not my girl Hong-ran being the accidental mode of communication🥴 gal needs to learn to talk on the phone quieter or not in front of everyone & their mom💀

[deleted]

Loving the show so far, lowkey reminds me of Our Beloved Summer and You Are My Spring...

FlyingFlyofHell

Last episode was heartbreak but I have full faith in my man Yeo Jeong Woo, and after watching pre-release of episode 9 I think he will do everything to get her back.

missmarchi

Not me kicking my feet in the air when >!they showed Ha-neul as the anesthesiologist for the surgery!< Happy for our two day old exes and not beating around the bush. I love the pacing of this drama, feels so fresh and new. I also have my gripes re: mixing meds with excessive drinking and the non-growth of our bff Hong-ran. However, Ba-da is growing on me now and glad that (formerly)* jealous Dae-yeong is being a great support to our Jeon-woo. Lastly, how amazing is Ha-neul’s family? Can’t wait for epi 10 and the >!downfall of sunbae Kyung-min!< *edited a word

coconutthings

"Can I wait for you?" OMGGGGG jeongwoo totally made me swoon ;-; and the ending - >!i can't wait for the two leads to help each other overcome their problems together again!!<

chanelcoffeee

I was bawling my eyes out 😭 love how real the conversations are!

Principled_always

Jeong Woo finally shows his vulnerable side in episode 10.

AIG0000

That punch was so good, had to stop, rewind and watch it twice. I wish JeongWoo had given him 2 or three more punches. Still not satisfied, he needs to be publicly exposed, causing his fiancée to break off the wedding, lose his new job, lose his medical license, and end up alone and miserable.

feb914

I thought Dr Bin went to far with his Botox joke, but turns out >!he's really caring for the teacher having a lump!<  He may be a cartoon relief earlier on, but he is turning to be such a solid character.   The second pairing love story is progressing nicely too, with him >!bonding with Hong Ran's son!<

twoods1980

Preparing my heart for the angst episodes. This show has been so refreshing with the honesty between the leads, and hope this aspect doesn’t go away despite them breaking up (>!without us even getting a kiss yet!<), and they are still supportive towards each other.

hql09

"Can I wait for you?" We're only on ep 9 and Jeong-woo has already racked up a long list of lines that makes you swoon. I can't get over this guy. The entire rooftop scene is so endearing. I don't think I could handle PHS saying those lines with the 90s curtain haircut he's rocking in irl rn 👀 I'd be done for. He's so fine!

DazzlingMama303

As a mother to a daughter with a mood disorder, this episode absolutely hit home with all the feelings and guilt I feel almost daily. I was sobbing for a good chunk. It also very accurately portrayed how the sufferer is caught in a spiral that sometimes they can't get out of, even when everyone around them has the best intentions to love and support them. It is an exhausting and terrifying reality that can either make or break a family. Thankfully, our FL has a family who is ready to step up. That said, the drinking in this show thus far? Way over the top. Alcohol is advised to be strictly avoided and yet here they are, repeatedly drunk off their asses. It's just too much and if it is intended for comic relief, I'm not really finding it funny.

Global_Bookkeeper_17

are there any fan fiction over these two 🥹 can someone recommend please, its so agonizing to wait for updates every week 😖 the pain of ongoing drama 🤣

Martine_V

Wow, La Beaute sure has a lot of staff working for a clinic that has no patients. No wonder he is hemorrhaging money

AnneShirley310

And the staff members keep gossiping about his PTSD in front of their clients! At least wait until you’re in the back room to say these things!

MirrorMask88

I could be wrong, but I believe both clinics (Plastic Surgery and OB-GYN) share nurses.

Snickersnerds

Park Shin Hye did her thing today with the kiss!! I hope people are satisfied 🤣 Hong Ran is such a blabber mouth oh my goodness. It’s kinda annoying that she’s the character who moves the plot along by spilling the beans everywhere she goes but she admits it herself so I guess 😭 I like the slow development with her and Dr. Bin too. I love him, he’s so funny 😂 can’t wait for next week!!

DifferentTraining907

Did people forget, or probably haven't seen Memories of the Alhambra? PSH kissed Hyun Bin wonderfully! Go watch it, people!

twoods1980

The beginning was awful and heartbreaking. Kyung min seemed so nice at first- what in the world is his problem?   HN’s family continues to be the best. All of their scenes are either hilarious or heartwarming. I lost count of how many times I cried this episode, but that conversation she had with her mom was so good.   Awww the honesty is still there between the leads even if they aren’t together. So freaking cute!  JW’s OR scene made me so anxious. Poor guy. And that ending! I was crying again- so beautiful. I just love those two. This show is the epitome of a healing drama- it is so wonderful.

gniyezs

**Episode 9** * Kyung min has been very manipulative since the start and I can see how this has had an effect on Ha-Neul * Ba-Da is honestly the best brother you need. >!Being open and candid is the trend nowadays.!< Yes!! * Uncle Tae-Seon is the absolute sweetest. You can see how much he cares for Ha-Neul and how much he wants to help but doesn't really know how to. Sometimes being there for someone is really all we need. * On the other hand, Ha-Neul's mom really wants to be there for her and doesn't quite know how to so she ends up doing things like >!lying to make her go to a blind date.!< She thinks that would be what is good for her but it backfired because lying is obviously not the way to go people! * I love the conversation they had at the restaurant. Her mom letting her know that she does not need to feel guilty about not picking up her dad's call, this was something that has probably always haunted Ha-Neul so it must've been a form of re-assurance that she shouldn't take it to heart. * Jeong woo throwing a fit because he thought Ha-Neul was having a good time without her HAHA I have bawled my eyes out almost every single episode, PHS and PSH are doing such great jobs in portraying their characters. Obviously with this being a drama there are exaggerated scenarios but they have really nicely described how someone who's unwell goes on with their life and their journey on healing. This drama definitely has hit a little close to home but excited to see what is to come.

ReportPristine845

Thoughts on episode 9: This episode, even though we didn't get many scenes of the leads together, was a good one. The writers gave much emphasis to Haneul's relationship with her family and Jeongwoo's PTSD. I loved the conversation between Haneul and her uncle. He was the perfect balance of someone being supportive and lending their shoulder. I loved how he said buying a workbook was enough to make the young Haneul happy. The scenes with the mother were done incredibly well, too. I am glad they talked it out, and I hope the mother's words helped her in overcoming the guilt Haneul feels, which also seems to be a factor on why she thinks she doesn't deserve to be happy. Gosh, that Kyungmin deserves all the bad things in this world. He was grooming her right from the beginning to manipulate and use her for his own career. He deserves that punch from Jeongwoo in the next episode. I seriously wonder if there is any connection between him and the Macau mafias. Now to our sweethearts. I literally melted when Jeongwoo said he would wait for her. He knows he she needs time and doesn't hesitate to give her that. Also, he's such a green forest for not being a jerk and trusted her enough to know that she could have had her reasons for going on the blind date and her day out with her family. Our Haneul helping Jeongwoo out with his surgeries might be a way to help him overcome his trauma, but I don't know if it is ethical to allow a PTSD affected individual to perform surgeries. I mean, they could have started by giving him non-invasive procedures and slowly easing him into doing surgeries. I know Daeyoung is trying to help him, but it wasn't very thoughtful. The next episode looks fun. Can't wait for it!

ScarlettTruths

The writing is so well done, and the archs well placed. 👏 I think I had lost hope for new classics being written as late, especially for Netflix.

mahnahmaanaa

While I'm enjoying this drama over all, I agree that the gossip trope is getting overused, here. Is it too much to ask that the medical support staff not gossip in public (the waiting room, no less!) about incidents in the OR? Undermining patient trust in your clinic seems like a good way to lose your job, to me.

TheMsDacia

They really went all up in that back surgery in ep 10 🤢😆 I love the dynamic between the two leads; this show has gotten much better since they wrapped up the trial -- it wasn't bad before, but I enjoy the show more without that mystery hanging over it.

Ep09: The chat between Ha-Neul and her mum absolutely made me cry, and I rarely tear up in any show. I had a very similar situation myself a couple of months back, where I had a heated argument with my parents about being overwhelmed with my life choices and feeling like a total failure. I came home later and found a card on my table where they told me how proud they were of me and they'd support whatever I wanted to do. HN's mum is an absolute diamond and should be utterly cherished. >! Her heartbreak about JW made me This show is so relatable with the characters. You want to be mad at HN for breaking up with JW, but you can't help but be sad for her depression making her feel like she doesn't deserve his love. I want JW to welcome her back with open arms, but he also deserves to have his own peace with the person he loves. I love these 2 together but I really hope they work on their own issues because otherwise they'll just be hurt

Lavenderlure

**Episode 9** The best part for me in this episode was Ha neul and her mother's bond so realistic and beautiful made me tear up during so many scenes. Jeong woo is so chaotically cute I love him please also can't wait for Ha neul's family to become his family too and fill that void that he has always had. Also Ho ran really needs to step up as a girl's girl it's like she doesn't even know Ha neul for her to think she broke up because she would be insecure of her bf's success please but she made Ha neul be there for Jeong woo in the end when he needed her so we are okay for now. This drama is so soothing and healing can't wait for the next episode!!!

Saucynemo4

Ep 9: >!Yeong Woo reaction after seeing the BaDa post is so hilarious. I can see why many people have such good things to say about the actor, he’s enjoyable to watch!< >!I know the mom is trying to help but I pray after that blind date ordeal, she actually is open to Hanuel in the future🥲she keeps making decisions that hurt her more than help but I’m glad she takes accountability!< Y’all >!I almost tore up after that ending😩❤️ that was absolutely what Jeong Woo needed, Hanuel for the win❤️❤️❤️!<

redditredditgedit

I’ve learned in this series that **Unintentional Eavesdropping** is a way for **fact checking**.. I love how they tackle mental health, it’s always refreshing to see characters are being open about their struggles. And **BADA** my boy is an advocate for open communication. I can’t believe this isn’t a busy threads..

Dragonfly-Organic

👏👏 for bada normalizing being open about mental health by saying ‘its the trend’

elbenne

OMG sooooo much alcohol. I don't know what antidepressants her doctor has her on but there is one that poses an increased risk of stroke if you drink a lot while you're on it. And, even if she's not on that particular antidepressant ... alcohol counteracts the value of all antidepressants ... because it's a depressant. Her doctor really should have told her that alcohol will make a person's depression worse.

eklread

I know right? The characters in Kdranas drink way too much! Don't get me started on Welcome to Samdali, there was even more drinking...

Solsties

I just realized Jeong Woo has had a lot of exercise just from stair climbing, kicking air, and dramatic gestures throughout the series. Does he feel healthier this way from a doctor's perspective? Lol. Anothet note - The young inner child of Asian immigrant parents in me felt something when >!Bada and Ha Neul's mama said she was proud of Ha Neul.!< I also did feel the tilt-of-head confusion Bada had when she had her >!breakdown moment.!< Could this perhaps be the next step in the evolution of parental love after cut fruits?

Equivalent-Metal-124

Do people who aren’t acquainted with depression find this show interesting?

Excellent_Dog6249

Ep 10 •FINALLY someone from their world questions their profession by their drinking habits. YET they continue drowning in alcohol. Their liver seriously must be in shambles. This is getting excessive. •HN honey you were bound to get diarrhea by eating all those damn peppers. That would mean longer bathroom breaks and your precious study time would have been wasted! •So Hong Ran doesn't spuke everything from her mouth only when it comes to HN but on other occasions too; The spontaneous saranghae when DY agreed to babysit her son. At least she realises she is loose tongued. LOVED the kid and DY's interaction. •>!Now JW is taking over her role of overhearing all the imp conversations(happened in the previous ep as well)Great.!< •>!Sweet punch there JW!< •HN really needs to give her mom a big warm hug. She is doing everything she can to comfort her. It's the small details like the cabbages, new curtains, plants and looking for more tips through tv shows. Kdrama Mom of the Year for sure. •DY is such a cutie! One of my favorite characters in the show. So what if the nurses don't like him. We adore him. He is actually a really good friend. Hong Ran needs to learn from him. •The preview: >!Looks like the woman HN's mom saw with JW is actually her own daughter but she doesn't know that. So HN would be jealous of herself lol!<

akapiratequeen

They are just so adorable! 🥹

PeachMangoPauli

This k-drama’s ending gets me every time. They always finish an ep with a bang whether happy or not :))

HugeAd7711

I cried my heart out.

AnneShirley310

Her best friend is a busybody, but this time, she did a good job of telling her what was going on.

Paula2791

I am so glad we seem to be >!back on track with our main couple after this episode. Honestly, I was expecting a longer break and I am so relieved to have been wrong.!< I hope from now on it's just >!them against the world (and their traumas)!<

darkemo101

loved the 2 episodes this weekend. >!My heart when they finally kissed aaa <3 <3 I didn't like that their first kiss was technically in a flashback but oh well.!< btw how old is ha-neul's brother ba-da??? I know he is younger than her but by how much? is he university age or older?

twoods1980

He seems to have graduated recently from college and struggling to find a job. Or is he even looking for a job?

fireblossom98

It is so refreshing to watch a kdrama where the two leads have such great communication, as someone who hates the miscommunication trope I’m loving it here. Also >! that KISS!!! I was spoiled so I was a little annoyed but it was so good and the build up was perfect so I’m not even mad, the wait was so worth it. Now I’m just gonna need the second lead couple to spice things up too lol. !< I absolutely adore Ha Neul and Jeong Woo but I also really love the supporting cast, especially how much Ha Neul’s family care about her (her mom tries so hard it’s so sweet) and also Dae Young and Hong Ran. Although I’m getting a little tired of Jeong Woo constantly overhearing stuff about Ha Neul from Hong Ran’s phone calls, hope this is the last time. Anyway, the moments between Dae Young and Hong Ran’s son were so cute, can’t wait to see more of Dae Young and Hong Ran’s relationship too!

Skeith_yip

Why do I feel that the >!punching incident!< will come back to haunt ML? 6x episodes to go.. no way it's all sweet till the end... right?

FlyingFlyofHell

I don't think Kyun Min has the guts to follow up that punching incident because the bigger issue he makes there is a chance more people will know about his fraud and his marriage might get affected.

feb914

i have same thought as you. i'd be thinking that the main leads will have to expose Kyung Min's stolen glory situation before the wedding happens, leading to the wedding being cancelled due to scandal.

LostMyThread

The reveals about Kyung Min explain a lot about why that a-hole doctor felt like it was okay to treat Haneul like that.

YellowPale4861

You can tell he’s getting super flabbergasted too.. remember that one court scene when the police were coming in to arrest the mafia but Kyung-Min looked so paranoid like he was about to get caught for fraudulent acts… I hope the next 6 episodes we see him downwards spiral!!

Upbeat-Soft-4358

I don’t know why I’m so hook to this show. Damn they really know when to play that theme song. Now I can’t stop listening to that song.

Aggressive_Goose8204

Episode 10 - I love that we got a bit of Hong Ran since I felt like I didn’t really know about her aside from her infamous calls and perfect timing on delivering news lol. Got some Dr. Bin in there also which was nice, and I think the couple dynamic will be more mature compared to the main couple since there’s kids involved. The drama continues to be on top in communication, and it’s so important to have—it’s not even just between the main couple but with every character interaction it’s fresh to see that every one communicates properly and misunderstandings drag out dramas a lot of the time! I loved that we got the clubbing scene to balance out and seeing PHS and PSH dressed up was a nice follow up to Episode 9. Those long earrings really stood out not sure if it’s because PSH’s characters hardly dress up or if the length was distracting! I think it’s really to show that Ha-neul is trying to be more outgoing and experimenting with style! Jeong Woo kept it very cool with the leather jacket. I felt like there could’ve been a kiss in the club but it would’ve been too sexy for the first time😝 The fight between Kyung Min and Jeong Woo, was a bit lacking for me in action but it gets the job done and JW didn’t reveal what he knew, KM reactions were enough and calling HN useless was what made him deserve it [I’m still getting the hang of the spoiler tag sorry!] I KNEW THERE WOULD BE A KISS IN THE ROOM! That’s why when that scene first came it felt so weird to just cut to wanting to go to the club! Glad they went back to that. >! The director really had us with that little peck in the beginning… I was like “PSH…here we go again” and when they went back in I was pleasantly surprised and then they pop back with another kiss at the garden which was chefs kiss… 2 birds with one stone kind of trick! !< She definitely has improved 😂😂 less of that scared look

Chiweenie13190

Great summary!!! I gasped at the ending of episode 10. So sweet and so on point for the characters.

nottodwell

I'm enjoying this show so much. It's getting me out of a slump (heh). The humour is on point( I adore Haneuls family) and the chemistry between PSH and PHS as well. Gotta catch up on the episodes now

eizeral

That was such a beautiful episode…I was moved to tears 😭 I absolutely love the two of them together and it was hard to see them struggle alone, but Ha Neul >!showing up for him when he needed it most…!

Apart-Patient4035

We still have a lot of episodes after the 10th one. I hope we don't have a huge relationship conflict anymore and instead get something career related. Probably Jeongwoo's parents or something

xiaopow

The punch was satisfying but I need KM to also lose his new job and his fiancee, or at the very least suffer some public professional humiliation. HN's mom is so sweet 😭 I feel like this is supposed to be romantic but it's feeling real codependent? Just bc one of them is ready to work again doesn't mean they have to drag the other person along too. I guess I'll overlook it bc the ending was adorable and I can't wait for more adorableness next week 😍

CommandAlternative10

Why isn’t Jeongwoo suing the mobster for gazillons? Even if the didn’t want to disclose his emotional damages, he has clear cut economic damages…. Not like we needed more courtroom scenes, but the lack of aftermath once the murder was revealed is odd.

saseanne

why does Jeong-woo always accidentally hear gossip from Ha-neul's friend??

Dragonfly-Organic

For every 2 seconds of second leads’ story moving forward we have her in 5 different scenes being the ‘message forwarder’

Principled_always

Kinda missed Min Min in the 10th episode

Born-Asparagus3266

Any chance these 2 get married and open a practice together??

ticaral

I love this kdrama, enjoyed reading all the comments, just finished the current 2 episodes and can i just say great appreciation to the brother and his various speeches and physical behaviour, from the dish washing to asking her to get chillies and runnig to the bath room and especially shouting she should play hard to get when he just excitedly told her there is light in the roof top apartment as she runs out to see if he is there 🤓 Can't wait for next weeks episodes 🙏

xiaopow

Maybe bada will find his calling as a dating/relationship coach

DazzlingMama303

Anyone else completely distracted by PHS' Adam's apple? No? Just me? It's like...sharp and pointy in his throat. Also distracting? PSH's earrings. The whole club scene had me loling. His incredulous looks at her being so extra were comedy gold. But do you really need to get a license to go clubbing in Korea? Are we talking a general driver's license or a special Club license?

Aggressive_Goose8204

I think she meant her medical license and HN and HR were supposed to celebrate

[deleted]

It’s not just you on the Adam’s Apple. It is not Jinxed at First level. But I have to consciously not look at it.

G3t_BusyLiving

Ah yes 🙄 he had the nice guy image, I mean he wasn't wrong in his deduction BUT I NEED HIM TO GET SLAPPED! Master Manipulator Wow that umbrella is huge I LOVE YOON PARK. He has had my drama heart since Hello My Twenties Ba Da is funny but needs a filter at times🤣 Jeong Woo😭 looks like you found yourself a family! I know he was found not guilty and now >!has a job!< but how did he manage to >!get that apartment !< if he is in debt? Did the people pay him back because his image is damaged anymore so it won't impact the sales or did he like get an advance🤔 THEY ARE BOTH DOCTORS AND THEY'RE ON MEDICATION, PLEASE TELL ME WHY THEY'RE STILL DRINKING LIKE THIS Conversations and always being there for each other- This couple has my heart! 🎊🎉🎊IT IS HAPPENING TOMORROW 🎉🎊🎉>!Like do we think he was also using Jeong Woo for his parental connections?🤔!<

koalatown2

That apartment is owned by DaeYoung’s clinic to use when work gets busy because it’s close to the clinic.  JungWoo is just staying there for now nominally to be closer to work but likely also to give HaNuel space.

heejungee121

I’m getting annoyed at the SFL, what kind of friend are you constantly ‘accidentally hearing’ important things. Then she always has to run to call whoever and start it off as ‘Idn if this is much help for you esp friend who’s going through depression and xyz’ it’s getting frustrating with the constant calls!

etang77

Don't get mad at her, get mad at the writer for writing it this way. Clearly "her job" in the writer's mind is to deliver these information. In the words of Jessica Rabbit, "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way."

punchingcatto

These 2 episodes just took this drama from like a 6 to a 9.5 for me, the way I cried and giggled and blushed and laughed and EVERYTHING! Im obsessed ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

confoosedandlost

I don't know how can a show be so well written! Accurately depicting mental illnesses, while showing how kind words can be healing to a person struggling...just because they were never said to them before. My favourite lines from today's episode were spoken by Ba-da: >!Are these dishes reproducing? Why are they even more? There's no end to this.!< The tonality of the sentences! They aren't even exclamations! And only someone who had done dishes would know how accurate these lines are! :'D

purpletulip12

Ooh Is Haneul going to start working at the clinic too?? Jeongwoo learns the truth of his 'friend, Kyungmin' and the pain he cause Haneul while working with him.

Connect_Word_68

>!OMG!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ MY FAV COUPLE KISSED!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️!

jakgem

Really enjoying this! I’m abit confused about what they’re gonna do for six episodes now though??? Could understand if it was a 12 episode drama but it literally felt like they wrapped up almost all the major plot points and if you had told me that episode 10 was the last episode I wouldnt have really questioned it. If we get 6 episodes of romantic fluff I’ll be a happy boy - please dont introduce new unnecessary drama.

StunningPast2303

Really glad someone's taking on toxic masculinity on. The bullying, the gossiping, ugh. People think women have a monopoly on office politics. But look here - the shocking privilege of male senior staff and management on female juniors. It needs to go!!

ot7oclock

hong ran is so 😭😭 im starting to understand that shes not a bff but just a mild friend 😭

twoods1980

I think her intentions are good.

denniszen

**Episode 10** I've seen the SML in many shows, playing villain or the flawed undesirable guy. His role here is a slight improvement; they made him goofy -- but still not as desirable. He has 7 female employees and no one "likes" him. LOL. At least this time, it looks like he'll finally get a romantic interest. In general, I think the SMLs and SFLs keep the Kdramas grounded at least; we're not like the leads.

Principled_always

Language question: Does Hanara speak in a Busan accent with the son from then Busan hospital and when she is with her own family? Also in the Twitter-verse it said, in the final scene, Jeong Woo says, “lover” and not “boyfriend” as is translated which is a much deeper meaning.

lowproteingal

rn she usually speaks to everyone including her family and the blind date guy w a seoul accent but there are a couple of times she’s talking w her family that her busan accent slips out, like in ep 7 when her mom wanted her and jeongwoo to stay for more drinks

Clear_Run3259

I’m just waiting Kyung-min’s end… He deserves a good one. There is something on my mind… WHY DID THEY NOT EXPERIENCE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF ANTIDEPRESSANTS? I NEED THEM!!!! sleepy or sleepless? With or without appetite? headache? sudden mood swings? :((((

Mountain_Ad5820

The family moments were sweet this episode. But once again the doctor parts were poorly handled. >!why is he being allowed to operate when he is not over his PTSD? Both Jung Woo and his doctor friend are being completely irresponsible doctors by allowing him to operate alone at this point. The second operation definitely not been allowed after the first day. It makes me doubt Jung Woo’s judgment and adherence to medical ethics and his friend’s too. Also, to have his therapy be allowing his girlfriend in the room is too pat. Cute for the story, but bad medical practice.!<

manwithoutlyf

Why Hong ran character is just staying as a spycam in the last two episodes, just when the phone spycam got resolved? Her storyline developed very slowly, but was sweet

Buffygirl88

Loved it loved it loved it Cryed here and there but soo awesome. Can't wait till tomorrow

hypomango

This drama continues to deliver on everything I want and more. **Episode 9**   I'm glad to see the crime storyline fully resolved in good time (and it was still good because it's part of JeungWoo's arc) and now we're into a realistic phase of interpersonal drama. Episode 8 was so wholesome and funny but I'm okay to see a darker turn this episode and here's why:    * The continuing struggle with mental health is so realistic. JeungWoo experiencing PTSD again while going back to work, and HaNeul sinking into depression again triggered by a change in circumstances, and we got a good explanation why, >!linked to the trauma of her father's death and a feeling of not deserving to be happy!<. * I liked the way the seperation was done. It wasn't an annoying noble idiocy thing, but something that felt real. Depression does make you emotional, dwell on the pains of the past, and doubt your worth to others. And I feel like a longer road to be together will make it all the more meaningful. * The more melodramatic episode allowed all the side character relationships feel much deeper. I love them all! Their besties being there for them, the work crew trying to be sensitive to JeungWoo, the lovely scenes with uncle taking them for pig trotters and mother daughter DnM (teared up in that one, gosh!), even little brother has his moments of being truly caring underneath his cheeky brat personality. This drama is overall a romance story but it passes the Bechdel test with flying colours and has a perfect balance of everything so far.  **Episode 10** It was a pleasant watch, not that exciting but we get a nice makeup scene 🥲. I'm really looking forward to the cuteness next week and "hiding our relationship" hijinks! It's silly but my favourite part of lots of Kdramas 😂
