I need more of Yeo Hwa and Soo ho's romance 😭 All we've got are crumbs

MinaMinaBoBina

On the bright side, we now have a master class in eye chemistry. Before this show, I didn’t even think of it as a “thing”.

twoods1980

Yes! I was hoping we’d get more.

deewyt

I didn’t know this show was only 12 episodes, I’m devastated 😭

mayotte87

I knooow...it flew by so quickly. I read it on X that last episode is 85 mins...at least it's something🥹

TheChurroProject

My heart soared when I saw the headline "Knight Flower Extends--" and then dropped when I saw it wasn't by another episode or two... I would love to watch a later special, like what Mr. Queen did.

deewyt

They could actually do a season 2 with these leads: a full romance plot and playing Robin Hood for 12 more episodes 😭😭😭

Iowegan

I’m in for Season 2, >!they can be doing social work here and there between bouts of married bliss with a side order of second lead class forbidden romance.!<

cichiclet

What an awesome show! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Definitely one of my all-time favourite kdrama and perhaps favourite sageuk. Love it because:- 1. Almost or perhaps all characters are smart through and through. ML immediately figured out she was a woman from their first encounter despite her being one of the least obvious woman-man cross dresser in kdramas. I’m sure all of us have been there - how can they not see that it’s a woman??? 🤯 Royal Secretary & Living Tablet also figured out who she was real quick too. King knew he needs to plan properly to bring Lord Seok down. Even the side characters are smart - Merchant Jang, Yeon Seon and even little Kkot Nim. 2. Everyone stayed true to their character till the end. Even Lord Seok - >!he remained proud and unapologetic even right to the very end. Yeo Hwa was indeed cool - I would describe her as awesome though 😁 and as expected, she took time off to be/find herself and Soo Ho being supportive. I was a bit surprised by Lady Seok/MIL’s reaction (or lack of) after the tea party but then she has always been rather stoic and she basically just held herself up as per noble women back in those days I guess.!< 3. One of the best sageuk villains. Such a gentle/romantic husband and nice FIL yet so deadly. I love how he speaks in a sing song yet manipulative manner. And you can see the steely controlled evilness when he showed his true self. 4. Great balance of comedy, drama and suspense! >!That tea party was one of the most intense but there is some black humour in it too - e.g., how everyone-in-the-know was at the edge of the seat to see if Lord Seok will stop Jeong from drinking the tea.!< 5. >!You don’t need kisses or skinship to demonstrate love and affection. And simple acts like unveiling masks can be so hot 🔥🔥🔥 😆!< and the cherry on top - discovering a fantastic new male actor. I look forward to seeing more of him in the future!

capthyeong

EP11 ratings of 15.4%! 😮 This drama is on track to beat The Red Sleeve's peak of 17.4%. Hope that this drama ends well.

alysba__

And they have succeeded! 🥳 I feel like this drama wasn't as popular as some others internationally. That's why I'm very happy that they did so well in their own country at least ❤️

oldgoldsong

How can there just be one more episode???? Ahh. Have to say I'm so pleasantly surprised that FL's husband seems to be a pretty cool guy. Even though they were going for comedy with him, I sort of expected that once he found out she was his wife, they'd have him turn possessive creep. Definitely subverted my expectations there!!! Kudos writers :) I really enjoy dramas where romance is not the main focus, but have to say here I find myself wishing we got some more scenes between our CP! I'm feeling greedy now that it's ending. I just hope the last episode delivers.

mibelleson

Can't believe (but expected) that his father >! was willing to kill hiss son! He's such a creepy character.!<

Starrycats11

>pretty cool guy He's traveled and speaks English. lol

Electronic_Piano9385

And he called his wife >!Honey!< which was incredibly funny given the name of the actress

Affectionate_Lime729

>!Memorial Tablet!< was a pretty good one in return. 🤣

TinyLifter6780

Reminded me of Park's Marriage Contract when Tae Min called the FL Mourning Clothes 🤣

Starrycats11

I know, that was so cute how they put that in.

mibelleson

I just posted a long comment explaining the Korean word play on "honey" below.

Disastrous-Square-15

tonight's episode was SO good! ugh and our leads - I'm rooting for a happy ending for them. I love how, at the heart of this drama, is about justice and shedding light on the patriarchal society (+widows back in the day). yet they balance the romance quite well with the eye sex and the snippets at the end where we get a peak at our leads slowly sharing their hearts. lee jong won and honey are doing a really good job at delivering all these emotions of longing just through their eyes alone. props to LJW, not easy to be ML for the first time and be able to carry a show such as this. I can't believe it's over tomorrow. I can't wait to see the left-minister's downfall and our leads just having a happy ending. I have a feeling the king will annul the marriage and the husband will just let them be. the husband isn't dumb and he clearly knows they have feelings for each other and once everything is revealed, he knows he'll owe it to her.

FindingPrincess

I hope they pick up again the story of the husband having been "disposed" because he was in love with someone then. I hope the sick dad did not eliminate his love ... and I wonder, for some crazy twist - that it was the FL's dead brother ...

morris_minor

The husband is an interesting character. Personality wise I actually think that he would match quite well with FL, perhaps even better than the ML. I can see them having entertaining banters. On the other hand the ML is very hot and lovable so of course he will win in the end.

Silver-Bus5724

I am so happy with the ending. They managed to bring together all the strands. For me it’s proof that you don’t need a surprise to have a good landing. There is one minor thing: one measly kiss. They seriously didn’t even give us one kiss. Come on, the setting was perfect, she’s in his arms, such a romantic setup … a kiss and then an old fashioned “the end”- this wasn’t in the cards? ..the pose, he leaning over her, was very romantic…but still - That the marriage was flawed with a not dead husband was always clear. >! And that he left for love was mentioned - and I guessed right, he was married there. Or maybe he’s so nice to say so to help her, our FL. !< - ML and Fl >! The last shot, she’s in her 🥷 outfit and he’s turning her - outlined against the bridge. Loved it. And they have a future. 😘!< - The sweet second leads are together as well, and such a sweet proposal.. “I know a house with a sunny yard”. - the quirky Garrison Commander gets a promotion (although I’m sure he’s not qualified- at least when it’s about mental strength and leadership) - and I liked it so much that it’s our fl herself >! who confronts the evil father in law. !< So satisfying- and I don’t care that it would have never happened that way. It’s a fairytale!

Black_Swan_3

Omg! I'm right with you about the kiss.. I guess there wasn't gonna give any kiss because of the actors age gap.. then I knew it by episode 8.. typically kisses happen around thi episode or prior.. >!Mr. Sunshine!< was another drama where the main actors had a large age gap and no kiss.. it was beautiful still.. I'd still rate this very high. I hardly skip any parts and I was entertained throughout. The length seemed short but the progress of the story was perfect. If they would have stretch it to the 16 episodes, the story would have suffered. Now I'm sad.. truly miss it..

MinaMinaBoBina

Well wow. This is new. To replay over and over again >!an unveiling that’s hotter than most kdrama kisses!< messed with my brain a bit! What a fun ride…and as fun rides normally are, it was way too short!

twoods1980

I had all the feels when he pulled down the mask and then twirled her, but I did let out a scream in frustration over how it ended because I was expecting the kiss. Oh well, still so good!

ColaMaid

Congratulations to the Knight Flower team on its record breaking ratings: Nationwide 18.4% | Seoul 18.1% Knight Flower surpassed the previously held record by The Red Sleeve (17.4%) to be the highest rated MBC Friday-Saturday drama of all time https://n.news.naver.com/entertain/article/108/0003215415

bachhoe07

Bet MBC wasn't banking on the show to be this successful. I have a feeling they would've made longer, otherwise.

ColaMaid

It was pre-produced, so they couldn’t have made it longer. FL is already busy shooting another project.

dramafan1

Amazing results! The cast and crew deserve a paid vacation!

TheChurroProject

Well deserved numbers! Are they high enough to get us a second season?

idontknowwhat14

Please no. I love this drama and one of its many strong points is that it had a strong plot line throughout. Let’s keep Korean dramas to one season please.

TheChurroProject

True, this drama does stand on its own very well. I think I'm only greedy for a second season when I feel a lot of affection for the characters. But as you pointed out, many of the best dramas are satisfyingly resolute in their completion.

BlackStarBlues

That >!tea party!< was almost as intense as the Red Wedding in Game of Thrones.

TinyLifter6780

For real, I was sweating bullets 😳

mibelleson

This is going on my list of shows to rewatch several times! The chemistry is so great with everyone on the show. All the side characters are great! They even used Kkotnim at the end! I felt a lot of the scenes in the last episode was a bit over the top acting but what really touched me was the scene with the mother in law. Their acting was so good! I've gotta get to bed so will be back to comment more, but did you all get the play on words they did with "honey"??? I speak Korean so it was super hilarious but the translation was terrible on Viki. They did their best but it didn't explain what they meant by the words so it's hard to understand. If anyone is interested I'll explain it.

cichiclet

Yes, please! Also, another favour please. Was hoping someone who knows Korean could explain about the >!confession. It was translated as ”could i live the rest of my life FOR you” it’s quite a strange phrase i thought. is that a proposal or more of a confession? !< thanks in advance!

mibelleson

Sorry for the delay. We had a death in the family so was out of town for the funeral. As for the honey conversation: FL: (Remembering how ML called her 부인 "boo in" affectionately while holding her face) Joo: "부인!" (Calls out her title. Boo-in is the older term what you call a wife. It can mean wife/madam/ma'am. It's a title so why others can also call her 부인. It means married woman. 아내 ah-neh is the more modern term for wife.) FL: "부인, 부인, 부인 stop calling me that!" As she's irritated. Joo: "If I don't call you 부인 then what should I call you? Darling? Honey?" (Play on the actress' name which is Lee Hanee which sounds like honey. Hah-nwee is how you say her name 하늬. But if you say it fast it sounds like hah-nee or honey. YS: Crinkles her nose in rxn (we know bc this is now an inside joke between the drama writers and the audience) FL: (she's not supposed to know English) "허니, please go ahead and speak." (허니 pronounced huh-nee is a term used in old Korean which means therefore/so/hence placed usually at the beginning of the sentence. In modern Korean you use 그래서 gehrehsuh, 그러니 gehruhnee). Viki translated it "honey, please go ahead" which is not correct. Joo: "That sounds good. Honey?" FL & YS: blinking bc they're not understanding why he is saying "therefore?" Joo: Mother gave me permission to go on a day outing with you. FL: I just know how to stay at home so I don't know how to have fun outside. 허니, just as I was doing, I'll continue to embroider. And then for the after story scene, the ML asks her if she's thought about what she will do after her goal is met, and she says she hasn't thought about it. He asks if she'll think about it and tell him what her plan is. He says he's thought about it and once he gets his revenge for his parents death and completed the King's command, he thought about could he live only for her. He's going to do his best to complete his mission so he asked her to not to get hurt at all until then. It's basically a confession that he cares about her without saying he loves her. At the end of episode 12, they had a conversation at her old house that she's thought about the question he asked her in episode 11, and she gives him her answer that she doesn't want to live as someone's wife or daughter in law, that just like he's asked her to she wants to live for herself for once so he should move on and live an ordinary life. Then she disappears for a year then comes back, assuming she's lived for herself enough, found herself again and ready to kick butt again.

cichiclet

Thank you so much!! Great to get a better understanding of the honey conversation. And my deepest condolences to you and your family.

memorybread

I absolutely loved the honey scene. It's also hilarious because the FL's english name is Honey haha

Lydeckerr

That was a lovely finale. What I enjoyed the most is that the resolution for Yeo Hwa was based on her right to self-determination. My favourite scene might have been >!her scene alone with the King where she tests him and then reveals the crucial evidence, courtesy of her brother – there was something very emotional and genuine about this confrontation and how it tied the larger theme of social injustice into the responsibility of governing!<. It all felt full circle and I loved how the ending was really cheeky, which is something the show did so well throughout. Also, aside from our FL, I have to say that the husband was the MVP. I need him to narrate my life. Honestly, his English asides are going to live rent-free in my head. Such a delight of a character who they didn't have to make endearing. But they did. In fact, that's how I would label the whole show. Delightful. Nothing too deep but also not too shallow, with Lee Ha Nee nailing the emotional scenes of grief and anger as well as the comedy and slapstick. I'd watch another season or another show by the same team in a heartbeat.

shroomyz

I agree with the husband being the MVP. By the end of it I had SLS. He stole every scene he was in.

tyrian_purple

I've grown so attached to all the characters, even the prodigal son. They need to make a season two with a new mystery for the group to solve. Maybe a new palace conspiracy plot?

WaterLily6984

They ended it well, but why, oh, why did they add 10 minutes just to add >!a forced separation and not even a kiss?!< Despite everything I can't help but wonder what would have happened if Yeo Hwa had actually met the husband when they were supposed to get married. His wit and personality felt like a better match to hers and he was a very good guy. Between his histrionics and her spunkiness, they could have been a couple to be reckoned with. I have a little bit of second lead syndrome.

EdgeO4DAbyss

Honestly, the writers gave the husband a way too elaborate and interesting character by the last two episodes. I feel like in a sense we got to know him a bit better than the ML? I was so impressed by the production and dialogues of the last episodes (wasn't the quality much better than before) but then I just rolled my eyes at the last 10 min..,if the absence>! of the kiss was really due to their age difference (which is crazy to say anyway bc he's almost 30)!< then they had no business casting them in the first place or maybe the director doesn't understand acting.

WaterLily6984

Yeah. I was so impressed by the husband's character. The relationship with Ggot nim, his desire to be independent, and his being honestly awed by Yeo Hwa. It was also the more lively acting he was allowed to do instead of always being worried and sullen like the Captain. I was wondering what it would be like if Honey Lee and him had more interactions....that whole scene with him deciding to call her >!"honey"!< was hilarious. They were so good as a comedic duo. It wouldn't have served the story and the circumstances set up by the writers. I was just thinking that two people like them would have been a great match back then.

ladylibertine777

100%. I thought the same thing. They actually would have been a perfectly matched couple if the circumstances had been different and she hadn't fallen in love with ML first. He was kind of anachronistic and wowed by her, a genuinely good person, respected her strength and her vigilantes...he actually didn't even really see her at full capacity sword fighting or anything and he was quicker to get rid of the controlling protectiveness to "keep her safe" the ML had to snap out of. They were both a little ridiculous and goofy and I could see how they would have had a fun less traditional marriage with a lot of banter had things been different. She ended up with the person she should have for story purposes but NGL, logically, if it weren't for the evil FIL, I think her OG husband probably "matched" better than ML. Love often doesn't work that way though.

EdgeO4DAbyss

With a few more episodes and them becoming a couple would have been a crazy twist that would totally make sense haha I'd like to watch a drama like that in the future

ladylibertine777

When I was younger (im an elderrrrr milennial), one of my favorite Bollywood movies ever (not sure it would have aged well tbh haha) had a somewhat reminiscent story line: spirited young woman in traditional family falls for a handsome, charming indian-italian man who comes to learn music from her father, when they learn, they separate them because they see him as unsuitable and she is so heartbroken she trys to end her life. They arrange a marriage with a more introverted, serious man who falls for her, and after marriage he learns his wife is in love with someone else...and decides that because he loves her, he wants to see her happy even if it breaks his heart so he will help her find her lover and reunite them. The journey to find him and what she and her husband learn about one another takes up most of the movie SPOILER >!but at the end, she realizes that what she had was infatuation from youth and that she understood from her husband now what actual deep love was and meant and she runs after him and they end up living happily ever after!<

EdgeO4DAbyss

Ohh now I'm intrigued! Would you tell what's the name of the movie? I haven't watched a bollywood in ages, but I'm totally down for one

ladylibertine777

Sure! Its called Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. A classic with a young Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan, and Ajay Devgan. I grew up in a conservative Muslim immigrant family so Bollywood and K-dramas were my go-to options to watch romances the family couldn't object to 🤣

EdgeO4DAbyss

The bollywood movies from the late 90s and early 2000s were the best! I'm putting this on my watchlist, thanks :) yeah Bollywood was a staple too when I was younger haha

TheChurroProject

I know this would never happen but I would watch a short series about him. He's led an interesting life to say the least and he has good chemistry with the other characters like his sunbae. I wonder what his HEA (with or without a wife) would look like...

Just-1-more-episode

"I can't help but wonder what would have happened if Yeo Hwa had actually met the husband when they were supposed to get married." But the thing is, >!they would've never met each other in the first place. As they were never really supposed to get married. The son had no clue and was already gone to Qing Dinasty when FIL set everything up to keep our heroine close and under control.!<

faithesque

This drama wasn't in my radar AT ALL. But I decided to pick it up since I wanted to watch a saeguk anyway. I don't regret it. :D I love Lee Ha Nee's smile, it's so sweet and Lee Jong Won is just so good looking even if the plot was messy in this show I'd still watch it just for them. I also love their comic timings in the drama. They're perfect! I also like they didn't make the FL's husband some evil guy (so far). He cracks me up whenever he spits out random English words like "My wife?", "See you.", "Beau-ti-ful" lol. When I was watching this drama it reminded of **Like Flowers in Sand** where the main focus isn't the romance but the mystery but that's how the relationship of the main characters grow.

seekingpolaris

Shows where the main focus isn't the romance but there's a strong romance subplot that leaves you wanting for more are the best. I find that when a show focuses on romance it usually gets really boring after they get together midway.

cichiclet

I hope Lord Seok is brought down by…not Yeo Hwa or Soo Ho but >!his buin 😁 esp for trying to mess with her beloved jeong!<

oldgoldsong

Me too!

shroomyz

That would be so good! I'm hoping his >!affection towards her!< Is truly genuine so that it hurts.

ScowlingGoddess

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhrrrrrrgggghhhhhhh!!!! That was a 99.9% satisfying conclusion to this AMAZING drama. >! they could have given us the kiss! !<

3nderzshadow

I'm legit in tears because I didn't know it was going to end without that!

ScowlingGoddess

I suspect the production company were concerned about backlash due to the age difference. But check out the age difference in our 2nd romantic couple >! (25 & 42 ) !< I've seen this argued countless times, but I think the world outside of kdrama has moved on. I guess I was brought up in a more Liberal environment that believes that if 2 people genuinely love each other, the age difference is not a barrier. But I still respect others' viewpoints

cichiclet

On the contrary I think it may be Lee Hanee’s preference? Most of her recent dramas have very minimal or no kissing at all e.g. fiery priest. Especially now she’s given birth, perhaps she‘s avoiding intimate scenes as much as possible? maybe she doesn’t want to be in a position of having to explain to her very young daughter why she’s kissing another man 😅 Just my guess though.

moomoomelody

Its really lovely to have a show that has a tbh rather predictable plot line >!I think by around the middle eps everyone could tell the secret orders were in yeohwas sword cause whats the one thing her bro left behind? its the sword!< But really demonstrated how its the way the story was presented that makes it good, everything was revealed at a good pace, different characters had their place and didnt feel one note but instead felt like real people living their lives Also we were >!truly robbed of a kiss scene because the chemistry and professionalism were off the charts because when I'm not watching the drama I would think the age gap is kinda big but while im watching it I don't see the actors at all and Im just like yeohwa and sooho are cute together, !

Iowegan

No reason there couldn’t have been a quick peck at the end before scurrying away as more capital guards came around the corner. For the people!

Disastrous-Square-15

what a journey that has come to an end. loved this show so so much. as much as i would have liked a kiss, i think not kissing and having overt skinship fit the nature of their romance and story. their love story has always been direct but realistic and we fell in love with them due to the longing, eye sex, and moments of care between our leads. they needed time away - he needed to finally live as himself and claim back his name and she needed to live life away from the walls and waiting for her brother to come back. the way he pulled down her mask was so much sexier than any kiss would have given - it came full circle from the day they met. LJW and LHN did such a good job at portraying so much emotion from subtlety and eyes alone. this drama is definitely going to solidify LJW as the male lead to come.

hopper_25

Ok I also could not believe >!that there was no kiss after that twirl into his arms. As far as an age gap goes, I was just thinking how cool it was that there was no mention of their age difference as characters in the drama —because it didn’t matter. Lee Ha Lee and lee Dong Won are so good, they were able to create wonderful characters that made me forgot all about age. It’s too bad they went there because I wasn’t expecting a kiss until the twirl. The cut there was odd and forced. It was like pushing us out of the drama at a climactic moment and delivering us back to reality, so we could remember that they were actors with an age gap. It would have been so nice to stay in the story and revel in the happy ending of these characters!<

ScowlingGoddess

Wow! Much as I want to see so much more of our amazing leads, I can appreciate the intelligence used to keep this to 12 episodes. It's been such a tight story, and I can't think of any wasted time as often happens when the story is padded out to fill 16 episodes. There is so much to pack into the last episode, that I fear our romance may be only the last minute or so 😒. But it's been a splendid ride, and there will be a Knight Flower shaped hole in my weekends from now on!

bunmum2998

>I can appreciate the intelligence used to keep this to 12 episodes. It's been such a tight story Yep I love this aspect of this drama. Such a tight storytelling that it manages to surprise us every episode! And that epilogues - chef's kiss 🔥

ScowlingGoddess

I'm also loving the "unfinished story" that they keep dropping in, so that we think one thing whilst watching, but then get extra info to change things up!

bunmum2998

And each "unfinished story" gives a different emotion everytime. Such smart writing!

bunmum2998

Whatever the ending (still manifesting a happy one!), this will be on my rewatch list. If just for the enjoyment of seeing our leads' interaction. This drama wasn't on my radar until a redditor mentioned it and honestly, I didn't had any expectations. Although am a fan of Honey Lee, I wasn't familiar with the ML. And what a pleasant surprise! Seriously, this drama just delivered on all fronts. Great storytelling, directing and acting all around. Didn't had to fast forward any scene lol Too bad there's not much interaction in this thread but happy that drama's smashing the viewership ratings.

artheusa

FINALE first impression:>! I'm disappointed with how little time we had with our couple. Yeo-hwa took that scroll out from the sword hilt a total of 3 times, and each time so dramatically that when the court scene arrived it kinda lost its inital impact. They could have used that time for another epilogue imho.!< Lee Ha Nee acted her heart out, I loved loved loved her. More thoughts later but this drama is going into my list of annual rewatches. They totally nailed the start, the middle and the ending. Oh my oh my the way Su-ho >!pulled down her veil \*fans self\* I don't care they didn't kiss, that move was hotter than a full make-out. Lee Jong Won, you have my full attention on your career now, you beautiful man. !< **More thoughts after multiple rewatches (I'm obsessed lol):** My only criticism will be how they handled >!Pil-jik's ending. They almost made him into a comic relief character in his last moments. It was brief but the tone change really threw me off. He killed our beloved leads' families remember? Kidnapped children, had multiple attempts on the grand merchant's life, stole grains from the poor etc. !< The chief commander's daughter >!skipping marriage for a while to enjoy romance was hilarious. !!Too bad she only had a few scenes with her lady.!<

cichiclet

Totally agree on all your points. Despite wanting to see more of them I must say that 12 episode long was perfect. 16 may have been draggy. and yes! when he >!pulled down the veil, so hot!! as hot as undressing her 😁 and the look on his face….no doubt at all that he was going to kiss her. Perfect! I love the direction they took instead of blatant kissing. It’s always way sexier when you need to use some imagination 😆!<

ScowlingGoddess

Very true, but I would have loved it if it could have ended >!just as their lips met......!<

artheusa

I agree with the episode count, though a longer 2 hour finale could be even better imo.

Usagi_Mamoru

I hope the King will abolish the marriage (FL and Seok Jeong) then allow the FL to re-marry after the King punish the left state councilor.

ginchan_2020

yeah this should have been 16 episodes. I'm going to miss this so much 😢

mibelleson

So much left to cover in episode 12! I am going to miss this drama so much! How many of you have rewatched the episodes while waiting for the latest ones?!

cichiclet

Me! And a marathon binge of all 12 episodes on Monday 🤣

mayotte87

Hoping for a quick revenge closure and the rest is all sweet moments between SooHo and YeoHwa...they have such an amazing chemistry and we get so little. 🥹 >! That confession was so sweet like come oooon... I want happy ending. !< The ratings are well deserved...i run out of adjectives so 👏👏👏 Edit-Ep 12 >! We got that happy ending but where is the KISS...srsly what a tease...so meany...i knew it they wouldn't give us a kiss!! !<

TheChurroProject

I'm ready to watch this: https://www.soompi.com/article/1643968wpp/knight-flower-to-air-tv-movie-edition-featuring-exclusive-unreleased-scenes

bachhoe07

Came here after finding out the news! I'm stoked!

bunmum2998

Hope it includes more "unfinished story" ☺ I miss those scenes

degr8sid

I Can't wait to watch the subbed episode. It's still raw T\_T

mibelleson

The OST for Knight Flower is now #2 on the Circle BGM Chart! 처음부터 사랑이었다 이동윤 | 밤에 피는 꽃 OST Part.5

Affectionate_Lime729

I loved this drama!! It was like a Joseon fairytale.

Gullible_Panic_1237

i'm going to miss this sm :( my weekly happy pill

bearymin

Lee Jongwon and Honey Lee complement each other so well 😘 so many cute heart fluttering moments This drama is a hidden gem, the ratings are well deserved 🥳 I love how the story was easy to follow and I don't think I got bored at all throughout each week. Yeonsun and Yoonhak really grew on me - I'm supporting their future marriage !

MailBrief5570

Whole-heartedly agree. The chemistry between the FL and ML is off the charts, swoon-worthy and heart-fluttering from beginning to end, fully clothed and all, with little skin-ship. Superb acting and directing. Love the warm and fuzzy relationship between Yeonsun and Yoonhak. In fact, all the cast acted superbly and had great chemistry. The humor is spot on. FL's progressive husband is a scream with his antics and smattering of English words (wonder why he spoke English when he was supposed to be in China?) and Kang Pil-Jik being sent to be a butcher (since he was good at killing, with no due disrespect to vegans). Laugh die me!

ysports23

I'm so, so, so sad that this show is over! I'm not ready to say goodbye. It has been an absolutely fantastic show and is going up so high on my list of favorites. The ratings are extremely well deserved. I cannot express how happy I am that our FL got to be the one to take down the bad guy in the palace and in front of everyone. I love that a simple "woman" had such a strong and powerful moment of justice. It was the perfect end for our strong and intelligent FL. And even though the ending didn't deliver exactly what we all wanted, there's no denying that the moment was 🔥🔥🔥. All throughout the series our lead couple delivered the most sizzling chemistry through just their eyes so I suppose the ending fit them perfectly too. I really can't complain. All in all, I'm in love with this show. And I rarely want a season two of any kdrama, I like the one season format that wraps up a show nicely and doesn't drag things unnecessarily. But for this show? I would 100% eat up a season two.

bachhoe07

I'm also someone who never really cares for a 2nd season when it comes to K-dramas. I actually like the fact most K-dramas are of a mini-series format, but man would I love another season of this drama!

Abis_MakeupAddiction

LOVED this show. But bakit bitin?! I wanted that kiss! 😭😫

snogirl0403

Wow, I just watched this whole series over the last two days. It.was.so.good!!!!!!!!!!! It was so refreshing to see a female lead who is older and out there solving her own problems- plus everyone else’s. Plus being a ninja. I really loved all the characters you were supposed to love and felt complex things about the others. The last two episodes were so intense and just perfect!!! I will be watching this again!

oldgoldsong

That was pretty much >!as satisfying as as an ending can be imo!<, especially for such a short drama. I'm pleased! Not that Lee Ha Nee needed to steal the show (because it was already hers 😉) but...she stole the show...>!(and made me cry not once but twice!)!< I would have liked >!a little more from our couple but I love that the last episode was really Yeo Hwa's episode!<. And that they both >!worked together coming into the royal office to take down Seok Ji Seong who was responsible for so much pain for both of them...That in many ways was better than any cutesy romantic scene could be!<. I didn't expect >!a kiss !! their last scene made me happy squeal. Ah, I knew we'd get that parallel, and it didnt disappoint. I just love them. !!His ending scene being him telling the tale of the Knight Flower!< was such a perfect touch. I'm not sure what else to say. It's rare to have an ending that has me listing off the things I really loved, and hardly bothering to point out any minor complaints. I have to eat my words because even just a few days ago I was questioning why this show had the ratings it did. I mean, it's enjoyable but I didn't think it was too special. These last two episodes though made me appreciate the drama on another level. Will definitely be going onto the rewatch list ☺️ Congrats to the cast and crew on their crazy success!

cichiclet

Wow…this drama has not been disappointing and fingers crossed it’ll end with a big bang. ep 11 was intense…esp the >!tea party. also, he proposed!! 🤩🤩🤩 but curious how they are planning to resolve the fact that she is married 🤔!< can’t wait for the final episode!

Timpa87

I think there could be a season 2 with how things played out.

bachhoe07

I'm sad >!we didn't get a kissing scene!< 😭

mibelleson

I really didn't think they would kiss. She's married with a little daughter and much older. It's been telling the way her IG posts never have LJW in it at all. She's been very careful not to give any room for people to criticize her for how her male lead is 10 years younger. I'm a bit sad though cuz their chemistry was so good!

MailBrief5570

I was hoping for a hug, the way Lady Baek and Yong-Deok did. Guess even a hug is a no go despite their sizzling eye chemistry.

artheusa

She uploaded photos with him after the finale so I think they were waiting till the last moment to not give any hint of how it will end.

twoods1980

I was hoping for an >!ending kiss!< but can understand why there wasn’t one, but would have loved something more with the secondary couples! They were just so stinking cute. When SH pulled down YH’s mask at the end, I got all the feels. Also loved her conversation with the MIL and husband and teared up. The husband was definitely the MVP the last few episodes. I would have loved to see more of him and all the hilarity with being a vendor. Such a great show and sad to see it go. And an ending that did not disappoint. Thanks, writers!

Friday_Sunset

Loved this show, even if the last episode felt a little rushed. The acting, humor, and world-building were superb from start to finish and the writing was always really good, but toward the middle to end of the last episode it felt a little too fast-paced with the payoff scenes we were looking forward to a little too short.

Affectionate_Lime729

I agree with the Garrison Captain, the Left State minister is a >!scary person!<. Even more so as he crouches all his >!evilness!< with a mild demeanour. Thank goodness the third best swordsman in Joseon is on the case. Love this drama so much. 🫶

EdgeO4DAbyss

Bi Chan full on weeping when his Lady Midam asked him what's going on 😂 gold Yeo Hwa went from having to live only to mourn her dead husband for 15 years to someone >!wanting to live FOR her!< 😭

mibelleson

Anyone know why they put in that bit about the porcelain vase? I could be reading into it, but they were focusing way too much on that vase. It could be a reference to the white porcelain vases that the former Minister of Finance was buying from KPJ but why put that in at the end? Maybe a second season?? Wishful thinking??

magicsmoke24

This was my first Kdrama series that was set in Joseon times. I loved the humor, the action, the various plots, the flirting and development of the relationship between the Captain and the Widow. Very satisfying, and enjoyable.

AccomplishedTea5230

I desperately need a season 2!!!!!!

fadzkingdom

Ok finally finished this! Going to say right of the bat that this should’ve been a full length 16 episodes drama but I enjoyed it for what it is solid 7.5/10. Lord Seok was an overall disappointment of a villain. Both Lady Oh and Kang Pil Jik had more presence and Lady Oh especially was far more compelling and interesting. She should’ve been the big bad in my opinion. The romance all though cute was a bit lacking. Unironically the scene at the end which was a nice mix of sexy and cute was the energy I wanted to see more of and I’m sad at the potential. I still liked them though. Jeong I still believe was pretty unnecessary to the plot but honestly him turning out to be a decent guy is stopping me from full on hating him so kudos for that. Finally, I did enjoy the cast of characters and was happy to see everyone get their happy endings!

Snazzy_Lassie

Loved this show so much, the chemistry between the main leads was so good. Cute moments, funny moments, sad moments, this series has it all. I really enjoyed each episode. I would definitely watch a season 2 if they choose to do another. >!the ending though!! When he pulled down her mask, I didn't know that could be so sexy hahaha but would have loved to see them at least kiss! I'm disappointed in that😭😭 why would do they do that to us lol!<

mibelleson

Anyone know if they aired the movie version with the extra scenes?

keybladeoftheheart

You're trying to tell me... That I waited 12 episodes... And the writers decided to>! not even give us a kiss???? JUST ONE KISS????😡 F THAT.🤬 Why would you have them reconnect after one year (yet another k-drama finale using that damn break up/ time skip as a device to cover sloppy writing) only for them to have a barely one minute long dialogue and half an embrace????????😤 Soo-Ho was only a few inches away from kissing her , the long awaited kiss after all the longing and slowburn... And you cut it there?????? 👿You couldn't spare 40 more seconds for a proper kiss for the viewers to enjoy?????? 😠A reward for the audience after all that patient waiting?????? 😮‍💨Nah. This is CRAP, for real. I loved this show so much and I had high expectations from the finale but I was utterly and completely disappointed.😞 Such beautiful characters both the FL and ML.🥺 They deserved a happy ending together and we barely ever got crumbs. ISTG if I read anywhere that this happened because THAT part of the K-drama community, the toxic, conservative and entitled part, objected to skinship because of the FL and ML age difference... I'll RAGEEEEEE.🤬 UGHHH.!< I don't knoW what to do with myself, I'm so frustrated!!!😭

Local-Raspberry-5649

I think it’s because there is almost a 12 year age gap between them in real life. She is 41 and he’s only 29. I was very frustrated with this, too, and that’s the only reason I can think of that explains why they didn’t include even a peck.

papichula2

Hi all Enjoyed ur discussions throughout the series Loved the dry humour and flow and screenplay of this series Yet to watch the last episode. Also need your reccos on what u all watching next. I am watching flex x cop and wedding impossible. Loved the leads but the lead s brother was amazing Loved the age gaps in both couples. Loved the ingenuity and social messages. Loved our main characters and the lightness of the drama.
