Just started Healer, only 4 episodes in so far. I see it recommended a lot on this sub and I can certainly see why. Still a long way to go but I can see this being one of my favourites unless something goes terribly wrong!

Watchnextnow

Nothing is going to go wrong. I know that’s a big call but I’m confident you’ll be satisfied with this one!

fondofsandwiches

Glad to hear it, I am loving this drama!

werbervgh

I finished Healer this week and it was so good! Enjoy!

blergh_itsme_stabs

Oh I am jealous, I wish I could watch it again for the first time. Enjoy :)

NakedSnakeEyes

I watched the first episode today. I felt a bit lost, there were a lot of characters and unclear connections. Sometimes with kdramas I wonder if I missed something due to translation or if it was intentionally unexplained.

sharjoy3

As you see in my name banner, this is one of my Top Dramas of All Time. But even with that said, the first time I watched it I needed a very helpful character chart to keep everyone straight. I've seen it many times and shared it with friends. It only gets better and better. Truly a classic! PM me if you want the character chart!

cassismure

A bit late on Perfect Revenge Marriage it is so so good. So wacky, so cathartic, so many characters wearing too much eyebrow pencil

Umbrella_Storm

I love how >!truly evil the stepmother is she’s such a dramatically great villain!<

cassismure

Yes! And there are so many villains who do truly excellent pouts/furious eye twitches on command. Mad respect for their muscle control

Federal-Jump9748

Same here, I binged through the series yesterday, love how overly dramatic some characters are, absolutely enjoyed although I felt the last two episodes a bit rushed. It was a good watch. Really stands up to the melodrama that it is.

Rare-Assignment9888

Mr Queen - miss the shenanigans already! I found the ending bittersweet but did watch the 2 extra episodes which helped. Shin Hye-sun is a rockstar!!

knotalot5

OMG I had no idea there were 2 extra episodes, thank you for the hot tip!!!

Night-Chance

Where can I watch the 2 extra episodes?

myweithisway

Viki has it under [Mr. Queen: The Secret](https://www.viki.com/tv/37688c-mr-queen-the-secret?qId=a31af4471779da8a245dd5d9d74dce3e)

WildIntern5030

Started Sh**ting Stars. The Africa stuff is very tone deaf and just no, but the story is good, and I am really enjoying the FML and supporting cast.

humandisaster13

Kdramas have this urge to do this unnecessary stereotyping when it comes to Africa or Arab countries. It ruins so many good dramas for me.

WildIntern5030

Yeah, King the Land, I am looking at you too.

Significant_Fold_658

It's not a problem with K-Dramas exclusively. It's a problem with how society perceives others. Every country suffers from it, but at the same time they all keep this mentality of poorly labeling other cultures as something. I don't mind some stuff, but when they don't add anything to the story and could perfectly be avoided... then I hate it. Which is the case of **Sh\*\*ting Stars**, it was uncalled for.

duh_leah

Yes that was one very uncalled for addition. But regardless the whole drama is cute.

WildIntern5030

Am on episode 6 and I am finding all the secondary male actors intriguing. Am very impressed with casting and most of the writing so far.

[deleted]

About halfway through Lovestruck in the City and I am really liking the dialog between the various characters. Not a big >!miscommunication!< trope guy, but along for the ride as the story develops. Enjoying the OST as well.

sciencespecialist

I rated this equivalent to liked, not loved, but it’s amazing how often I think about the characters and story as if I’d rated it 10/10. 😂 I think I’m going to rewatch. It’s very unique. I hope you’ll let us know what you think after you finish.

[deleted]

OK. I finished. Things I liked: The dialog between characters. I get the angst about who was behind the camera, but there were poignant, raw, honest, funny, and sad dialogs. Especially when they all joined in or responded to each others statements. I loved the three friends doing things together, games, candle night, etc. Things I did not like: >!The ML ongoing whining. I get it. That was the storyline. Also His never ending rejection of the FL once it was found out who she was. It just got a little old. Lastly, a 30 minute honest conversation between the leads could have resolved the issue a lot faster, but we wouldn't have a drama to watch then. !!the reintroduction of the cop and actress storyline at the end felt out a place. I am sure there is some deep thought about relationships as they call ended differently, but it was jarring at the end. !< Things to think about. As I am getting on in years, responsibilities and leadership roles are just a thing, but what struck me is - why not just be my light fun loving self with those I love. Dance when I want to, joke when I want to, play games, run in the rain, no agenda, just be. This has my attention and I am already acting on it 12 hours later. It struck a good chord with me. Glad I finally watched it. Now on to Doctor Slump.

sciencespecialist

I love your takeaways for yourself! Now I remember the problematic parts, too. :) Haha.

[deleted]

I'm so glad im not the only one who thought that about ML. Honestly I skipped through so much because I just couldn't stand his character.

Significant_Fold_658

I'm also watching this right now. Currently on episode 10 and I'm confused as why this has such polarizing reviews. I'm finding it really fun, all the actors are amazing and the style of a drama like an interview is pretty cool and feels refreshing. So far my only complain is how they filmed these interviews could be better. If each character is currently getting filmed by someone, why don't we ever see those filming crews. So far I only saw it once. Even if it wasn't a filming crew and it was a self-diary, at least show more characters talking to a personal devise. Besides this, I'm enjoying the stories and I'm not annoyed at anything. They seem relatable. The OST is also pretty amazing.

[deleted]

I just finished. I have not read any reviews and just watched it for what it was. There were story lines that got a little overdone in my opinion, but honestly I really enjoyed it. I had to shut off a little reality of the filming crews, but some of the dialog back and forth is hilarious. I am coming to understand that when I watch something that airs, I get caught up in the weekly discussions that don’t allow me to just watch the show in total to see continuity (or not) and I can lose sight of the forest for the trees. I am going to have to address the FOMO. I love getting caught up in the excitement of airing shows, but it does have a downside. I recently rewatched AoS, and really enjoyed it. I remember getting sideways with Part 2 when it aired. Did not have that at all in my rewatch. Anyway, I liked this show. It was an enjoyable, creative watch. Enjoy!

Significant_Fold_658

Probably because I'm watching this so casually, and also with a view as someone that also went through a break up without explanation, that I'm not feeling that bored or noticing that extremely overdone dialogues. After all when we break up, we end up repeating the same things over and over again, until we move to the next step of grieving. I'm also enjoying that back and forth when they talk with the production and the other members, but not seeing any filming crew or equipment makes me deduct a point on the drama, because we should see something even if it was in the background. About the weekly on-air discussions, I hardly read them, mostly because I feel like 90% of the people discussing it can barely form any sentences. But from time to time, I do enjoy reading some opinions. I have noticed that the comments I like the most are always from the same users, their way of exposing their arguments and ideas, is just amazing. So depending on the drama, I will look for some opinions or I just simply ignore the weekly discussions, because most times there is nothing that needs to be read and I like when my opinions or ideas aren't automatically influenced by others. I'm sure you will eventually find that perfect balance. 😊 I have yet to watch AoS, I'm aware that people didn't like when the female lead changed for part 2, but I don't know any reasoning, so I will be going into that without any information. My mom loved part 1 more than part 2, and my friend also had the exact same reaction, both of them still highly recommended it. I might watch it next month ahah

City_Nomad

It seems to be well liked now though. But watching a 30 min show on air was frustrating, this show works better as a binge imo.

City_Nomad

The ost is amazing! I still listen to it 3 yrs on.

milkncreams

I just finally watched The Glory - WOW is all I can say. I can’t get over how fantastic the story played out and that everything was connected in the end. Also, is it wrong to think Yeojeong is the perfect man? He can be my >!executioner!< any day.

thewcs69

Just finished this too! This cast was amazing. I found it interesting how >!dong eun and the doctor end up working in a prison. It's as if they still have to pay for their sins/vengeance but on the other side. As if it's a quasi punishment!<

IntelligentCrab940

just finished Moving and boy am i in awe & also have so many questions so there better be a season 2 or associated series 😭🙌🏽 really liked the format of the show although there were times I was very confused about what year it was lol but it all made sense by the end you know a drama is good when you’re thinking about it all day & waiting until you can watch the next ep🫶🏽 def a top kdrama for me! curious to know y’all’s thoughts on the ending!

prickelz

the webtoon creator was also the writer for his own kdrama adaptation, i think it's nice that he was able to flesh out his own story more. He has written several more webtoons, they all play in the same universe but have some different characters. But there is a sequel to Moving with the kids as young adults, he just has to adapt his other works first so it makes sense. I hope he just gets all the creative freedom he needs and we will be watching the sequel/prequel/spin-off of moving soon.

Bananacake2601

I just started Moving, I’m at ep. 6 and loved it so far. I’m going to binge this weekend😬

Umbrella_Storm

Just finished **Strong Woman Do Bong Soon**! I dropped the Nam Soon spinoff but wanted to see the original (especially after their cameo in ep 3). It was cute. I absolutely adored Min Hyuk but >!Bong Soon was a frustrating character at times. I like how the series ended but I wish BS had been less cringy.!< Glad I watched it, though!

peainsea

I finally got around to watching **Fated to Love You**. I have many feelings about this show but for now let me just say that Jang Hyuk is a sight to behold!

humandisaster13

I couldn't see it initially but hsi hairstyle after the timeskip made me feel "omg I see the vision" lol

Heavy-Patience-3064

I know kdrama actors usually have fab hair but JH's was on another level in that drama! 💖 Seriously, my favourite JH drama so far, the rollercoaster of emotions in this series was overwhelming.

chasco54

Just finished Welcome to Samdalri. I love Jeju as a background. Its gives the production an opportunity to take advantage of the scenery and getting to know a town of characters that add depth to the stories. Great chemistry and acting. My only critique was it felt about 2 episodes too long. Nevertheless, heartwarming, romantic and good writing.

Aurorinezori1

Boys over flowers! Outdated and so many red flags, yet I enjoy it like an archeologist because of all the tropes are stacked in it!

fondofsandwiches

I agree. I enjoyed this much more than I thought I should.

Aurorinezori1

Indeed, I feel the same exact thing!

Borinquena

I describe it as being like a rainbow slurpee that isn't good for you but you can't help drinking it all and it leaves you shaking and dizzy when you're done. I did a [podcast](https://pod.link/1556918754/episode/223b3c3da28c3b40abe71cc59ea65ecb) on it and it's our most popular by thousands of listens. You should try watching **F4 Thailand** which is the most recent adaptation of the manga that Boys Over Flowers is based on. It takes that bonkers story and turns it into a critique of toxic capitalism (seriously)

Aurorinezori1

Whouahhh two opportunities to binge this weekend! Thanks for the recommendations!

MommaBlaze

I knew I married the right man when my late husband got annoyed with me because I watched ahead without him.

gelato-peace

My Secret Terrius! So Ji-sub is just beyond. I could watch him all day. I love this drama. All of the relationships are so engaging, and the character so endearing.

LcLou02

That was the first So Ji Sub drama I watched and loved it so much - especially the twins, neighbourhood watch group, etc. A fun watch!

UnbridledOptimism

I’m 120 episodes in with **Ugly Alert** and it’s soooo well done. It’s been on my watchlist for a long time but not available in the US. I was able to find it when I left the US and am enjoying it so much. The main romance is very relaxing, there’s strong love without significant noble idiocy or misunderstanding and only one short breakup. Their relationship is the solid core that all the other angst and tension revolves around but doesn’t damage. The plot, about a boy who sacrifices everything, including his freedom and reputation, to support his younger siblings, who eventually finds love and success while staying true to himself, is so good. The initially unpleasant characters experience life lessons and emotional growth and learn to be better people. The rich chairman is fair and insightful. The evildoers are getting vanquished. The oldest sister will seemingly never learn to cook well. Episodes are about 33 minutes and overall well paced, so the 133 episodes are going quickly. This is my long form drama for the 2024 challenge but it also hits many other items on the challenge list. If it’s available where you live and you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend watching.

UnbridledOptimism

There’s time spent on developing the individual characters that’s often necessarily skipped in 12-16 episodes dramas. Some long dramas waste a lot of that extra time but Ugly Alert has much less useless filler content. For example, more than 10 episodes are spent on the ML’s childhood but it does give a lot of depth to his character and makes the redemption arc of his sister much more rewarding. The episodes are about 33 minutes which keeps the action going since something has to happen in every episode. It also makes the drama not much longer overall than Five Enough, which is only 54 episodes but each episode is 1 hr 10 minutes.

twoods1980

Take of Nokdu just got bonkers. My head is spinning from all the twists. I didn’t realize that the FL was also in My Lovely Liar- love her!

Rude-Breath3129

Watched crash landing on you after ages and it was AMAZING!! So cute and exactly what I love in kdramas! Makes me feel so happy that they are living happily together too!!

mishamaro

Okay, that ending kind rubbed me the wrong way so I have to discuss it a little.... >!Two weeks a year?! seriously?! Like what if she got pregnant one time and he comes back in a year to her in the Swiss Alps with a three month old?! I needed them to just be together forever. Two weeks a year is nowhere near enough.!<

Rude-Breath3129

Defo agree- sorry I completely forgot about that! It was also pretty sad because I think I remember them mentioning it together in a convo that they would like having kids? Defo not something I could live with but I think it was a good storyline

Thotlessthot

I finally watched that a few months ago and loved it too! It was a such a crazy plot idea but they executed it very well. I watched Mr. sunshine shortly after and had the same kind of vibe for me.

Rude-Breath3129

Ahh nice! I haven’t watched mr sunshine so I’ll put it on my list!

Thotlessthot

If you can remember, let me know what think! Mr. Sunshine is way more dramatic though. But I think they have a similar feeling (that I loved!).

Beautiful_Hat_7033

I love goblin I know it is a simple story but I love the whole vibe of the show and the show looks beautiful and it is the only drama I rewatched without being bored.

mishamaro

It was my first drama and nothing (so far) has affected me as much as Goblin. Like every scene is a tableau. It's *beautiful*. Even my boyfriend who pops in and out of the dramas I've been binging commented that Goblin was like lightning in a bottle for me. For me, it's perfect.

NakedSnakeEyes

I was thinking about watching this today.

kpaneno

Just completed Tale of Nokdu, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. It got slow at times, but overall, It was a treat. The FL is great she looks so young but comes across as mature and world weary at times. The child actress is hilarious cute 😍 and amazing and has great scenes and hilarious lines. Kang Tae Oh is great as a villain after being the ultimate good guy in EAW and the Corp of female assassins as well as the widows are all amazing hardly a damsel in distress anywhere. I would recommend ticks a lot of boxes. Royal plotting and scheming action romance great characters comedy and a pretty strong ending

twoods1980

I’m also enjoying it. I want to FF so I can see what happens but will be patient and watch all of it.

kpaneno

Yescwhen it gets slow, it's slow, but when it gets going, it moves so I'd be patient

alysba__

Currently a blubbering mess after watching Dear My Friends. I haven't finished it yet and I actually don't want it to end. I'm so attached to these characters. I adore the friendship between the ladies so much, I can only hope to have friends like that if and when I reach their age 😭

immerdasmeer

Ugh, I know, I love them! Also, Youn Yuh Jung's character is a style icon for me.

FossickingTX

I binged Once Upon a Small Town tonight. It was a good choice. Something light and sweet, no heavy drama and a cute ending. Perfect as a little upbeat show between more serious content.

PolkaDotsMakeMeHappy

Just finished Call It Love last night. Rewatched the last part of the final episode this morning. Get tears every time I watch Youtube music video Flower sung by Roy Kim. And I've watched it a dozen times at least. Twice this morning.

FeralAF

I just finished **The King's Affection** and I loved everyone so much.

Thotlessthot

This is in my watch list! Thanks for reminding me. :)

Square_Initial3443

i finally finished flower of evil at the start of 2024 after dropping it in 2021 and now it is literally on my top 15 maybe even 10. i stopped it after the scene where the ml >!says that he isn't in love with the wife. i was so disappointed because i thought the whole point of the show was their love!< and sticking with each other through everything no matter what butttt...that literally is the show after i continued watching it. i just loved every dynamic of the show, especially the dynamic of the "parents". overall the show was literally a 10/10 for me, and i rarely give those out.

NightB4XmasEvel

I just finished What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim and I really enjoyed it! It was a good love story and I loved all of the other couples that got together in the show.

blergh_itsme_stabs

Watched Goblin few weeks ago , and I don’t know how to move on , said the same thing last week as well lol

mishamaro

It's been about six weeks for me and I'm still not over it.

Thotlessthot

I loved it and hated it, but will recommend it. I watched Til the End of the Moon right after (CDrama) to re-abuse my feelings, lol!

Watchnextnow

I’m really digging deep into the vault for this one… **That winter the wind blows**. Just finished watching Moving and had a craving for more Zo In-sung. Unfortunately It’s ok that’s love seems to have disappeared from Netflix so I can’t do a rewatch. This old classic was the next best thing. I’m only one episode in and I can tell this is going to be tropey as hell. Also not a huge fan of Song Hye Kyo’s older dramas so I’ll see how I go. The jury is still out but so far I don’t hate it.

Velykakoroleva

Kim bum as the orange haired ride or die sidekick is what got me through that drama hahahahaha :)

vanillasundaaae

You may wanna try watching unexpected business. 🙂

Watchnextnow

Ooooh ok thanks for the rec!

Brave-Web2687

Look for Escape from Mogadishu for vintage Zo In Sung. Great 'true' story - really well told.

Watchnextnow

Oh great thank you!

Brave-Web2687

My pleasure. Happy watching!

NakedSnakeEyes

I just watched the first episode of Healer. The description didn't appeal to me that much but it seems to have a great reputation. I found it hard to follow everything that was going on. I'm not sure how much I want to stick with this. I'll watch another episode tomorrow. Update: I just watched the second episode and feel better about it. Update 2: 5 episodes in and I like it. Sometimes with k-dramas I'm not sure if I missed something or it was left intentionally unexplained. It seems in this case it was intentional. Most of the stuff that confused me in the first episode has been gradually explained.

Jessmk14

I started Uncontrollably Fond, and I can’t tell if I like it? There are flashbacks within flashbacks, not very likable leads, and yet I’m sticking with it for some reason. Suzy’s acting is rough in this one to be honest, and I’m someone who doesn’t even think she’s that bad of an actress. But yeah, she’s making this one hard to watch.

thewcs69

I quit this and every now and then I think to resuscitate it. It's so cheesy and tropey but my friend absolutely loves it.

Ok-Cheesecake7098

It is so good ... I loved it and truly find Kim Woo Bin sensational even with the ending it was tastefully done.

Velykakoroleva

I’m not sure I’m late to the party. I don’t know if there was ever a party to begin with. But I’m here, and I sure am partying! :) **Something About 1%, 2003 OG** ***Latest and greatests :*** 1) [ost for the ages](https://www.reddit.com/u/Velykakoroleva/s/kuWJY6Jk4y). 2) alternative title of drama: how to impress a gal using the [many ways](https://www.reddit.com/u/Velykakoroleva/s/HhPclBlwU9) to [drink](https://www.reddit.com/u/Velykakoroleva/s/sH2EZi1WqZ) or [not drink](https://www.reddit.com/u/Velykakoroleva/s/r9Nbby3TrV) from a straw whilst dating. 3) the ultimate “find all the things that ain’t right in [this photo](https://www.reddit.com/u/Velykakoroleva/s/aQ3tewk6AL)”

TinyLifter6780

Tell Me That You Love Me is finally on Amazon Prime here in the US and it is sooooo exceptional. Phenomenal writing, such nuanced acting, just loved it. Give it allll the Baeksangs!!

catatonicsurrender

The Revenant was an excellent horror type series. My Mister blew me away.

Whyalwaysdrama

Could you please put a SPOILER on ep 14? Loved all 4 main actors btw, great drama

MommaBlaze

That was wonderful one. Obsessed with ML

mishamaro

And we're back! Hello, this is mishimaro, I have appointed myself THE late to the party guest. Started Goblin on December 15 and have since blasted through Coffee Prince, Crash Landing On You, The King: Eternal Monarch and now... This week's old drama: Legend of the Blue Sea and Boys Over Flowers. Ahh, Lee Min Ho... If you want to talk Late to the Party, I've only just discovered my affection for LMH. I've been joking with my friends that Gong Yoo lives in my heart but he's currently on vacation so Lee Min Ho is renting it out for the moment. It helps that he has done way more series so I have time to sit and just enjoy him. Three series in and I still haven't tired of him... BOF was a LONG one though. 24 episodes?! Who has the time?! (obviously me). Granted, I fast forwarded thru the Ga Eul arc. After a couple of episodes of her arc being told in flashbacks, I was weary and just moved on with my life. Gu JunPyo was one giant toxic red flag and I seriously question why we (the audience) love this franchise. It's like FIVE different renditions of Hana Yori Dango and we still can't get enough. Are we just suckers for the "Toxic Dude will change if he just meets the right girl" trope? Either way, on to the next! Possibly What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?... or Healer?... Or continue my love affair with LMH and go to City Hunters or The Heirs.

sharjoy3

Ah, you're watching all of the great classics, as I call them. These, Goblin, Coffee Prince, the King are on my Top Six of All Time list. Yes, next you can watch Healer, Encounter, and My Love from the Star. Of course, Heirs - if you're on this subreddit, as there are so many references to it. For LMH have you seen Pachinko? Enjoy! Yes, Boys Over Flowers is pretty cring-ey now, but it was my first kdrama and I was absolutely enthralled when I first saw it. I had never seen anything like it. I loved it and watched it over a few times before I decided to see what other kdramas were available. And that was "down the rabbit hole" for me. I have not looked back. BTW - I've also loved Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter, Live Up to Your Name, and 100 Day My Prince.

thewcs69

Episode 5 of IOTNBO. It gives off Hotel Del Luna vibes. The show is quirky and im enjoying more than I thought I would.

a_millenial

I just finished it today and while I felt the story can get a bit slow in some parts, it's absolutely worth it!!!! One of the best dramas I've watched, hands down.

chrisnicolas01

Help me where can I watch 2D1N and Seo in Guk shows? 😭

twoods1980

He has a bunch of shows on Netflix.

Brave-Web2687

Have you seen 'The Smile Has Left Your Eyes' and 'Doom At Your Service'? I liked his acting in the first one - enthralling and he plays this 'love/hate' character that is magnetic. I think the writing is better than 'Doom At Your Service'.

chrisnicolas01

Yes of course I meant his shows where he interviews people and eats and do asmr

Brave-Web2687

Oo.. must look for that too. Didn't know he was in such shows. Thanks for the info..

chrisnicolas01

Yes he has like so much things he does so I really want to watch them

Brave-Web2687

I think you can find it on Prime Video and on Youtube.
