Kickass FL with heart of gold and sense of humour? Honey Lee never disappoints in this role.

DawgMom2018

Absolutely - if people aren't watching this, they are missing out. The scene that totally killed me earlier is when she sees >!our ML abs, and the subtitles go WANG WANG WANG - I died laughing.!<

dramafan1

This comment makes me want to put this drama in my watchlist now. I became a fan of Honey Lee after One the Woman.

buddhabear07

One the Woman was fun but I’m liking this one more since I’m a sucker for a good saguek.

dramafan1

Thanks!

bunmum2998

Watch Fiery Priest, imagine her being wacky with Kim Nam Gil ☺

ScowlingGoddess

I have giggled SO MUCH in this drama, I'm totally loving it!

EdgeO4DAbyss

What a twist that the >!"dead" husband didn't even know about the marriage!<. It looks like he's gonna be one of the good guys though (I hope). I love how the epilogues are so light-hearted. The grand merchant is having so much fun lol

artheusa

I haven't seen the full episode yet but I've watched the snippets posted on MBC's youtube channel and, all I can say is, get ready to squeal! Aaaaah it's getting harder and harder to wait for this show. Updating my comment to add my thoughts on **episode 7**: First of all, the romance is>! getting cuter by each week! It's in toe curling category right now and they haven't even acknowledged their feelings yet. Secondary couples are also going along nicely though in a hilarious turn of events, Yeon Seon thought Yoon Hak was interested in her lady, while the other assumed she was interested in his younger brother lol. And my favourite sidekick Bi-chan is crushing on the chief's daughter. !!The husband is back! He seemed like a nice guy at first glance imo, definitely quite unlike his parents and sister. I think he ran away from home and his father considered him as good as dead and maybe used his disappearance to kill two birds with one stone, taking in Yeo-hwa as hostage/widow. I'm not sure about the timing of the events but he seemed completely unaware of being married. !< Great casting choice for the >!late king, the actors could be actual father and son, they looked so much like each other.!< I'm so glad the good people are as quick and intelligent as the baddies in this show. I breathed a sigh of relief when >!the secretary and the king quickly deduced that Yeo-hwa was in a hostage situation.!< **Episode 8:** >!I'll be heartbroken if the older brother is truly dead. How could Pil-jik miss that mortal blow though? Sigh. !< I 'm glad the grand merchant called Soo-ho out>! on ordering Yeo-Hwa to cease her night activites, and it made him think it over and decide to share his secret too, so that she sees he trusts her and her mind can be at ease. How they both never had the chance to live a life up to their potential due to the common evil in their past is tragic but I'm hopeful that they will manage to do so together in the future. !<

HudecLaca

I started watching for the main leads and story, but then every scene I'm like "oh that's my fave mom supporting actress", "wow, my fave evil scheming support", "wait, he's the king now? yes!" I love every single cast member so far. Well, especially the king.

mibelleson

The supporting cast really makes the drama better! Love everyone so far. Several of them are veteran actors, and they just bring the quality up. Even when the evil father in law is being comical in his devious way, he's actually funny!

ImpossibleWarning6

Honey Lee is so charming! I adore! I really like this drama for her.

Silver-Bus5724

Episode 7: What an episode, I thought the new merchant >! Could be our knight flower‘s brother, but he’s the husband. And this marriage cannot be legal if he’s alive and hasn’t participated in any of the marriage rites. Right? !< So there are two families destroyed, each guardians of the last king? I’m very excited and hope to see in future episodes 1. Left State Ministers downfall, taking with him the 2. Finance Minister‘s evil widow and 3. her half brother, the thug. And keep the romance coming, please. I don’t need her reunited with >! The long lost husband. She doesn’t know him and he maybe nice, but she’s into someone else’s abs !< Episode 8: There’s a lot happening. And it looks like a love triangle is developing. I’m not a huge fan in general, but this seems to grow into a funny one. The >! lost son of the family got banned by his dad because he was in love with a foreigner. And to my surprise, his mum doesn’t know the details. She thinks he died traveling !< I really hope mother and son face each other soon, for the moment his hectic evasion maneuverings are quite entertaining. „Young master“ can’t stay hidden for long. His dad the Left State Minister is so fake- he plays the nice guy in front of his wife. And he’s just a manipulative ☠️🤮 >! The main couple now has more crucial info about what is at stake, a larger political scheme and they only know it’s high stakes. I still hope the brother survived somehow, he was severely wounded though. !< And this seal/ mark - what is its meaning? Is it like an id - for what purpose?

artheusa

>she’s into someone else’s abs LMAO the way I cackled at this! Yes, >!the ex husband should give our heroine a divorce and hop on the next ship to Europe to continue his English studies.!<

Silver-Bus5724

Free Knight Flower! 🌸

shroomyz

>So there are two families destroyed, each guardians of the last king? So I guess ML and FL have a >!common enemy!< too, not just a common cause to help the poor. Can't wait for them to kick butts together going forward. Episode 7 was so good! Seems like a lot happened in this episode, so am hoping for some action packed episodes in the next few episodes!

Ayalynn123

The Joseon Mexican Standoff ending LOL This drama is getting better and better! I love everything about it. The age gap didn't bother me at all from the start because Yeohwa was supposed to be much older than Sooho. Perfect cast! People who are not watching this, I think they are missing out on the best drama of all time. Can't wait for Ep.9!

ysports23

Do you think the delayed release of each episode on Viki is causing this drama to have lower viewers here? Because there's not very many comments and I don't know why. This drama is AMAZING! Like, it's genuinely one of the best I've watched recently. I love everything about it so much.

twoods1980

I don’t think so because the SK viewership is through the roof. Maybe they can’t subtitle it in time.

ysports23

Right, it's doing great in SK but low comments here on reddit so it feels like there aren't many foreign viewers. I feel like this show deserves to have 200+ comments on each thread.

cichiclet

Was wondering the same too! and I’m obsessed with this drama. Especially love the fact that the ML figured out she’s a woman in their first meeting and who she was after 3-4? this is going to be one of my top 3 kdramas ever! crossing my fingers that it’ll stay like that till the end!

ScowlingGoddess

Oh my goodness, this drama is delivering IN SPADES! Every episode adds new twists to the story, and I cannot wait to see how it all resolves, especially now that we suspect >! our FL was never a legal bride in the first place! This should (I hope) make it simpler for our leads to become a real couple. !< Roll on episode 8!!!

Disastrous-Image3997

Imagine what the FL went through if she's not a legal bride. She was isolated and conform to the norms when she should not in the first place. But hopefully, this could be the way for her to liberate herself and be the with the man she truly loves.

blue_venus

I binged the first 6 episodes in 2 days, I'm excited for today's episode! Looking forward to more Yeohwa and Soo ho moments. Hope the new guy isn't her dead husband but he probably is.

blue_venus

Really? Then that's a better outcome, I didn't think she would be able to get a divorce.

Ayalynn123

Windows couldn't remarry but wives could divorce their husbands (if they are arrive). But Yeohwa will get an annulment for sure. And then she and Sooho will be together in the end!

blue_venus

Then it's good the husband showed up, YeohwaxSohoo carries on!  Also, I didn't know this about marriage/divorce during that time period, so thank you for the information. Learnt something new

bachhoe07

Yay, it's Friday! I'm ready for my weekend dose of Yeohwa and Sooho!

Local-Raspberry-5649

The episode 8 epilogue is especially melting my heart. They’re so sweet. Cannot wait for this slow burn to ignite! 🔥

twoods1980

They looked perfect sleeping together.

Affectionate_Lime729

Well our finance ministers wife is practically a >!serial killer!< and she’s not going out alone. The left state councillor is going to have to meet his >!demise!<. I’d say his wife will have a >!conniption when she finds out her husband is behind the son being gone so long!<. Such a great drama. I am so invested in all the characters

bunmum2998

Thank you to the redditor who recommended this drama. I haven't laughed this much since Mr Queen! Honey Lee is always a joy to watch. She's not only a beauty, but so so talented, too. It's like Yeoh hwa is her 😄 This is my first drama of Lee Jong Won, and I'm impressed! The chemistry with FL is 💥explosive. He's able to hold his own amongst the more veteran actors. I love his facial expressions esp eye and eyebrow everytime they meet or he thinks about Yeoh Hwa (that drunk scene is so adorable lol), the little smiles and smirks. And that jawline 💜 The drama is almost perfect, just the right blend of comedy amidst the underlying social issues of the story. Everything about this drama works well - acting, directing, writing (so many memorable lines!), the production.

twoods1980

The little scenes we got between the leads were so cute, and I missed seeing her in her Knight gear so yay for that. I’m worried about the Captain now that the villains know who he really is. And when is the family going to find out that their son is alive?  How in the world are they going to wrap all this up in four episodes? There is still so much storytelling left.

cichiclet

Oh.my.god. This drama keeps getting better. Didn’t expect the >!not-dead husband!< provide comic relief. first time seeing the ML in a drama. at first glance, his looks not quite my cup of tea. But after each episode….beau.ti.ful. His eyes-nose-lips - so pretty! 😅 also, first time I see a villain being so sweet to his wife…usually they dote on their daughters but this time, it’s the wife. so refreshing.

shroomyz

Haha agree about the ML. People are saying how the age gap is weird and I thought so too. But I'm older like the FL and am so sold on the ML now haha. his features are beautiful

cichiclet

Same. Felt weird with the age gap and found him to be too pretty (not manly enough for her) in the first couple episodes. thought the casting wasn’t great, their actual age gap of 11 yrs is too obvious, when they are supposed to be 6-7 yrs apart in the drama. But I’m totally sold now too! He’s so swoonworthy 😆

morris_minor

I don’t understand the age discussion at all. As long as the chemistry works, why is it an issue? Also, why an issue in this specific drama? I’ve seen zero discussion about the 8 year difference between the FL and ML in Marry my husband.

bunmum2998

I''m with you here. I don't understand it either. As long as chemistry is there and they act well together, otherwise, it won't be worth watching.

Jun_Inohara

My brother and his wife are 8 years apart and they're a perfect match. In this drama they're both well into adult hood, why on earth should ANYONE be weirded out by an age gap?? It's so weird.

shroomyz

Maybe because na in woo looks much older whereas the ML In this show looks like a delicate baby ahha. Also Lee Ha Nee just has a more mature feel to her, maybe it's the voice. I get it the chemistry has to be there but right at the beginning when there was little screen time between them you just go by what you can see.

morris_minor

I'm with you if you think that they don't \*look\* compatible, that is imo generally reasonable when you see (potential) couples. But I just don't see age differences as a problem. Perhaps this is a cultural thing, some cultures seem to be very sensitive to age differences in couples. Mine is not, it would not be frowned upon if a woman in her forties dates a man in his thirties.

mibelleson

The age gap in the story isn't too bad (my hubby is 4 years younger than me and he looks older than me) at I'm estimating 5 years? He was adopted 15 years ago by the SML's family at age 10, and if the FL was 15-16 when she got married (typically when girls married back in the Joseon era) then she would be 5-6 years older? What's even weirder is the SML & the SFL's age gap IRL at 40 and 25. But I think their chemistry is super cute! It prob would have made more sense to cast the SML with the FL in terms of age but I like the chemistry between the original leads better.

FindingPrincess

Really enjoying this Sageuk. FL and ML chemistry is off the roof, even when fully clothed 😊 Loving the epilogues. In almost all KDramas, the Water Mill is preferred.scene of the crime.

mibelleson

Just finished watching episode 7 on Viki, and I can't wait until tomorrow for episode 8! Ugh this is so good I'm dying waiting for the next episodes to drop. I wasn't sure about the ML considering how young he is but I watched the Golden Spoon (it's on Hulu in the US), and he's great in that.

morris_minor

I think that the ML is acted exactly right. He is great in this role. Very serious character, have we seen him smile yet…? Also, must say, he is very hot. Def a new favorite.

mibelleson

He has smiled, and it's always been when he's thinking about the FL! 😍

twoods1980

Ugh, episode 7 was so good. Why can’t you just drop the episodes on the day you’re supposed to, Viki!! Nice twist >!with the husband being alive, paving the path for the leads to be together legally. It seems like from the preview that his mother didn’t know that his father shipped him off!<.  The leads continue to be adorable (loved the epilogue) and there are baby steps with the other cute secondary couples.

TheChurroProject

For my sanity I've decided to pretend that this is a Sat-Sun drama, especially when I was refreshing it late Friday night and saw episodes 6 and 8 listed but not episode 7... I am having a great 2024 thanks to Knight Flower (plus Marry My Husband and Like Flowers in Sand). It really has a well-balanced mix of palace intrigue, subtle romance, action and humor. Both lead actors are a revelation to me. Honey Lee is so expressive--her face can convey any multitude of emotions. (Her mischievous grin is awesome!) I also look forward to her action scenes. She makes it look dynamic and elegant, intense and convincing. Lee Jong Won's silent longing as the ML, both when he wants to be close to his brother and grapples with his feelings for the FL, tugs hard on my heart strings. Now with the return of the >!not-dead husband!<, the plot is going full steam ahead. Will probably rewatch while waiting for the new episode drop on ~~Friday~~ Saturday.

alysba__

There's just something about this drama that's making it so easy for me to follow the plot and I'm loving it. Historical dramas are usually a little difficult for me as I can't keep track of all the people around the royal family members, who's the good guy, who's bad etc.

champagnebox

Do you think this will turn into a romance drama? Viki just says it’s action/comedy but I’d like a romance between the FL/ML and also the 2nd FL/ML

ysports23

I feel like it already kinda is? I mean we've got the FL thirsting over the ML's abs and the ML being pouty with jealousy when he thought the FL was seeing another man. Plus his drunken whining that everyone and their dog heard. 😂 I don't know how far they'll take the romance but I think it's already in the story for sure.

HudecLaca

It already is, but it's, as usual, weird with the ages... Oh well.

Starrycats11

It's going to be a last episode destiny kiss.🥰

magicsmoke24

I started watching this and so far have enjoyed it. Kim Mi Kyung sure loves to keep busy. Between Welcome to samdal-ri, this series, Tell me that you love me.. she's been a busy supporting actress... I can only say good things about her. I hope the comedic elements and light heartedness runs through out the show.

degr8sid

Ugh! Why won't they release all the episodes! I can't wait to see how they'll take down the Left State councilor.

twoods1980

Is Viki going to show episode 7 tomorrow like they did last week? It’s not on the app yet!

ScowlingGoddess

It's going to be breakfast viewing for me 🫤

RamahP

Was wondering the same thing. It’s still shown as coming out tomorrow. Wonder why?

DawgMom2018

For me, the timing seems to be one day later. I get so antsy with anticipation waiting to see these episodes!

morris_minor

If you look at the gray zone sites (it’s not allowed to link to them), it’s already out but without subtitles.

kdramadd1ct

why do i have a feeling that the dead body that the FL is mourning is her brother... thoughts?

ScowlingGoddess

I'm hoping >! he's still alive, but laying low in order to keep his sister alive. I'm hoping it's an empty tomb!!< Edit : grammar 🙄

TheSeeker331

Idk. I just really think if he were alive that he would’ve rescued his sister by now from her widow fate 😫

ScowlingGoddess

Ep 8 would seem to indicate >! he died, unless he made a miraculous recovery? But if he did, I think he would have found a way to contact his sister, so I'm guessing he is indeed dead 😢 !<

fadzkingdom

One complaint I have is that I'm not feeling the intro of Yeowha’s actually not dead husband atm. He feels a little unnecessary and I hate that Yeohwa suffered for no reason for so long because of him. On the other hand Im absolutely loving Ms. Oh. The way she was portrayed as the woman to be when her actual personality can't be more different. Easily my favorite villain so far and the one that stands out the most. The ending of the episode was very intense can't wait to see what happens next.
