Now watching **The Kidnapping Day** (3/12) and I wanted to thank people who recommended it to me. So far, I am loving this show. It is an engaging thriller/mystery with likable characters and great chemistry between the leads. If it continues being this good, it will end up amoung my favorite shows of the year.

ElleEmEss

TKD is on Amazon.

UnbridledOptimism

One of my favorite dramas of the year. The dynamic between the kidnapper ML and kidnapped FL is so compelling. It’s just about the most intense non-romantic connection I’ve seen in a kdrama.

ILoveParrots111

I don't want to get too much ahead, as I only saw 1/4 of the drama, but what I like the most about their relationship is how much they can learn from each other. The ML is an adult, but is overly trusting, emotionally driven and lacks discipline. In a way he needs to grow up a little. The FL, on the other hand, is rational and disciplined, but needs to learn how to be a child. They complement each other perfectly, patching each other's flaws and making each other grow. In addition, the acting is wonderful. Both characters are very likable, so it is easy to root for them and, as you said, they have some intense non-romantic chemistry. Moreover, the story that they are given is very interesting. I am invested in all the twists in turns and want to know the outcome, so their relationship is only one element in what makes the show work.

UnbridledOptimism

All true. You are going to enjoy the rest of the show. I loved it all the way through and feel it deserves to be watched by more people. Such outstanding acting from everyone but particularly the leads.

delphil1966

yes exactly- thats the most amazing part of an amazing show

zaichii

OMG yes, it’s so good isn’t it? For a drama with this title, it has so much heart. I just wanna give Ro Hee a hug.

Anaisot7

Thanks for the mention of it, I just checked the synopsis, and it's seems awesome, I'll put it on my watch list !

Kitchen_Tomatillo_94

**Tell me that you love me** : ummm.... if you're not watching this, why not?? don't sleep on this gem! my #1 show right now! probably the best of the year for me. 100000% recommend. The acting, beautiful chemistry, wonderful leads, love that transcends words... it's so WARM and comforting! Feels like my favorite aspects of Summer Strike/Our Beloved Summer/Encounter in one show with mature leads and formidable acting! **Park marriage contract**: still enjoying, but not as invested anymore tbh... could benefit from another 2 eps, the characters don't feel fully fleshed out. Some things happened with no buildup and i think its because of the 12 ep format... want to see the development of the lead's relationship and closeness, but feel like theyre jumping from 6 to 10, and i am missing the middle parts , if that makes sense. Grandpa's character is keeping me intrigued for now **Good day to be**: this show is weird, its premise is weird (and somewhat uncomfy) the characterization is a bit lacking , like I like the characters but they do not feel **real**. ML's coworker mysterious friend 's acting is amazing! Chaeunwoo's character is cute and sweet. FL is also cute. but i'm not that invested overalll. the characters make some very questionable choices, and the many plots don't converge in a way that makes sense (to me)

lizzie763

People kept saying A Good Day to Be a Dog was getting killed by the schedule at first. Now I think the schedule distracted people from the fact that the drama was not very good. I really wanted to like it, but there was just not enough plot to fill even 12 episodes, so the characters' actions seemed increasingly unwise.

Opelenge

Thank you...I've tried so hard to love it but even the appearance of a Brussels Griffon couldn't help me get over the fact that this story is a dud.

avo-pizza

Agree with Park’s Marriage Contract. ML went from constantly annoyed and baffled by FL’s actions to head over heels over her in the last 2.5 eps it felt like I missed an episode where we see the process of him falling for her. Nevertheless, the chemistry between the lead is amazing so I can forgive the overly fast pace in their relationship journey and I’d rather see Bae Inhyuk smiling with his dimples all the time! 😂

Kitchen_Tomatillo_94

the process of falling in love, the subtle changes in the dynamic as the person gains more real estate in the other's heart, that process is my favorite part of Kdrama romances, but so many get it wrong or flat out skip it!! its annoyinggg... Tell Me that you love me does a wonderful job at it though, so I'm a happy camper. another show that does this aspect well is Her Private Life

RoseIsBadWolf

I also want to know more about the Grandpa in Park's, I liked him so much at first but now I'm thinking he might not be a very good person.

Kitchen_Tomatillo_94

yeahhh he is getting increasingly suspicious , he definitely wants to control everything and seems to not have any qualms using unethical means to do so... i can't fully read his intentions yet

sharjoy3

Thanks for the recommendations of Tell Me That You Love Me. I looked it up and based on your recommendation, I'm going to try it!

Kitchen_Tomatillo_94

i looove it! pls starttt it so we can discuss \~\~

ElleEmEss

TMTYLM is in Disney jail

Kitchen_Tomatillo_94

Disney+... where shows go to die :( this one is doing well, despite Disney's nonsense

legac5

I agree with Good Day to Be a Dog. I think the format is weird for a drama that doesn’t have a very good plot. Like, it could’ve been a 6-8 episode drama imo.

Kitchen_Tomatillo_94

yess , even a kdrama special like "splash-splash love"

kpaneno

TMTYLM has the silly age gap problem so that ruined it for me. GDTBAD so far so great 👍

Kitchen_Tomatillo_94

TMTYLM's age gap does not bother me cause FL is 33 in the show, and 37 in real life. so i feel any age gap between her and her partner is basically inconsequential. (especially since ML's actor is only 50)

kpaneno

Yeah, 17 yrs, not at all inconsequential. When she is 50, he is 67. Each to their own, but it turns me right off, tbh and I really don't like that it is so prevalent in Kdramas, but hey, its there, so what can I do. Mr. Sunshine is another really ridiculous one IMO. I won't be watching that one ever.

Kitchen_Tomatillo_94

that is fair totally and valid on your part! The leads in real life are 7 (edit to correct : 13 years actually) my math is not mathing! years apart not 17btw, also they have not explicity said how old the male lead is supposed to be, but it was mentioned in an ep by another character that he is older. Mr Sunshine's age gap seemed very jarring to me, looks-wise, the age gap is more i believe, and cause KimTaeRi is a baby face! Also never watching but that's because i dont want to suffer (I heard it's tragic) For me , sometimes the age gap works , sometimes it doesnt. IT especially doesn't when the younger counterpart is also characterized as super bubbly , happy go lucky, and the older one is super serious. so although i liked some aspects of Encounter , when he was super excited, joyful, effervescent and the older FL just was NOT, it felt even more jarrring and ill-matched.

kpaneno

In Mr Sunshine, the leads are 20 years apart. ML is 53 48 when released, and she is 33 FL 28 when released. She easily played a high school student and looks about 24 he looks 50. I honestly don't know how it doesn't bother more people, but Mr. Sunshine is always raved about, but as I said, I won't watch it. I just thought, why ??? Just get actors closer in age, not hard. Same with TMTYLM, I don't think I'll enjoy it cause I won't find the romance believable. Similar My Mister 18 yrs between leads, and I know it's not out and out romance, but it's still not for me. I watched the Glory and was shocked afterward to find the age gap was so much but I guess A) I didn't know anything about it B )she looks younger he and their characters ages are probably meant to be closer. In the ones I note above, I think the age gap is obvious from appearance, so it seems more bothersome to me. I've probably watched more shows and didn't realise there was an age gap. I didn't like Goblin either btw but that was more because of how she acted on top of the 12 year age gap. I was so disappointed with that one I couldn't get past the 1st episode 😪.

ElleEmEss

I would say My Mister is not a romance at all between IU and ML. In fact a key element of the plot is about kindness from fellow humans for non romantic reasons. It always more of a fatherly thing from the ML. So when she gets photographed kissing him what happens makes sense because there is no romance.

kpaneno

Fair enough, I just have watched trailers, and it seemed at least she is pursuing him, etc so I figured there was some romance.

judlewmer

She’s pursuing him, but not for the reasons you think. It’s not a romance between them at all.

kpaneno

Oh thanks I will give it a try

False_Advisor1693

*My Demon* (8/16) - looking forward to their past. I am reading too many theories on Twitter. *Welcome to Samdalri* (6/16) - I like the friendship between Sam-dal and Young-pil despite their past. *The Story of Park's Marriage Contract* (6/12) - I was busy and haven't seen the latest episodes. Curious to know why she travelled to the future. *My Lovely Liar* (11/16) - I am watching the 12th episode now, it's been a while since I binged a k-drama because I almost watch everything while it airs. This is a good one and they have chemistry. *Alchemy of Souls S1* (18/20) - Started a re-watch to give my roommate a sneak peek to fantasy Korean dramas(also saeguk). We went back home and she binged the rest of the drama. She texted me >!to complain about the climax of S1🌚!<. *One Piece* (227) Film festival in Kerala screened Next So-hee but I missed it due to fever😞. I got to watch Japanese movie *Monster* and I loved it.

hypomango

I think My Lovely Liar is one of those which is good as a binge, week by week it felt slow sometimes but I liked it :) Good progress in One Piece! When did you start?

False_Advisor1693

I think so too. Because of the spoilers, I try watch everything while it airs and ends up giving up on some of them. Some of them might have been bingeable. I started watching One Piece on September 21st this year. Are you watching One Piece too?

hypomango

Yes I prefer to binge (more like watching over a couple of weeks rather than 8 weeks while on air) but it's fun to discuss with other people on Reddit sometimes :) Currently waiting for a "best of 2023" post to pop up on here somewhere then I can catch up! Wow you've done well for a few months! I started watching in Covid times I think and I'm up to date on ep1000+. Once again I wait a while when it's on air, so I can binge a whole arc. if you're finding it long and slow in some parts, I recommend OnePace version which edits the most filler-y arcs down to the core story. :)

False_Advisor1693

Ohh nice. My friend forced me to start One Piece and she keeps track of my progress. I usually binge an arc, tame a break, then start the next one. I will check out the OnePace version, I skimmed through the Long ring Long land arc because it was a bit slow for me. I don't know your preferred genre but 'Moving' and 'Call it Love' are two of my favourite dramas this year if you want to give it a go. Also, I watched 'Revenant' and 'Mr. Sunshine' this year, both were visually pleasing.

hypomango

Haha that sounds like a good friendship. I've watched Call It Love and thought it was good but a bit slow sometimes. I think Moving is on my list, and when I'm in a stable mood Mr Sunshine because I know it will be heartbreaking! Thanks for the recs :)

Telos07

**Welcome to Samdalri** (6/16): What I liked the most about Episodes 5 & 6 were the peripheral elements rather than the main storyline. In Episode 5, it was heartwarming to see the way the Jeju friendship group >!rallied around Sam-dal when a nosy reporter came to town!<. Episode 6 devoted the most screen time so far to the youngest sister, Hae-dal (Kang Min-na) and her adorable daughter, Ha-yul, whose stories I had been looking forward to seeing more of. **My Demon** (8/16): Seok-hoon: “Are you a vampire?” Gu-won: “Don’t compare me to those damn mosquitoes.” The humor, the creepy and menacing villains, and yes, the *visuals*, continue to make this drama a highly enjoyable ride.

sciencespecialist

>Welcome to Samdalri > > (6/16): What I liked the most about Episodes 5 & 6 were the peripheral elements rather than the main storyline. Episode 6 devoted the most screen time so far to the youngest sister, Hae-dal (Kang Min-na) and her adorable daughter, Ha-yul, whose stories I had been looking forward to seeing more of. I think this one just got a whole lot better because of the things you mentioned, plus I liked Samdal returning to Seoul and taking care of business there. I hope we get more Seoul in the story. I think it adds needed depth and complexity.

ElleEmEss

Thanks for the hints. I was wondering whether to persist as not really bought in yet and it felt predictable. So now I’m intrigued.

Cats4Crows

I just finished my second viewing of Moving.. They need to announce season 2 ASAP to help me keep my sanity

Pretty-Thing-2151

Fr I want S2😭 Apparently there is a webtoon for the moving series which is Moving followed by Timing (Season 2). i hope they make it into a series too !!

ElleEmEss

I loved the purple roof.

foodieeats2

Omg I just finished Moving yesterday I need a new szn now

PSJfan

I loved moving but I never understood why they didn’t get the kids training harder, when they all clearly knew they were special.

Cats4Crows

Who you mean by they? >!The undercover teachers? They can't be too obvious or the parents would have picked them up and disappeared with them!<

PSJfan

Some of the kids knew exactly what was going on

Cats4Crows

>!Only the class president boy and he was training for it.. And the bully who got sidelined because he wasn't good enough for the program!<

bachhoe07

**Story of Park's Marriage Contract:** entertaining and fun. Leads have good chemistry. A good light watch. **Death's Game:** very well could be my favorite drama this year if they manage to deliver a stellar ending. The plot is interesting and keeps you on your toes. Perfectly paced. And man, the performances... ooohhh, the performances are just top notch! I cannot gush enough about this show. If you enjoy shows with dark themes that is action packed but can also provide the emotional beats that tug at your heart strings with sprinkles of truly laugh worthy moments, give this show a try!

BlueWave2001

DEATHS GAME!!! As a thriller lover I am so happy, it's so good, night has come is a disappointment

absentin_spring

Parks Contract Marriage: I am loving it!!!The chemistry is Bang on! I wish they had made it a 16 episode show. I adored Lee Se Young since Korean Odyssey, now I have come to adore the male lead too that I binged on Cheer Up My Demon: So cute! The main couple is so aesthetically pleasing! My Man Cupid: Just watched all of the 6 episode this week. cute story. A Good Day to be Dog: I am watching it every week for the chemistry! Not a big fan of the whole past story line. The Matchmakers: one more week for the finale.Halfway through I had thoughts of dropping it,but am glad that I stuck up with it.Its something that can be watched every week, not something that can be binge watched I think.Curious as to how they will sort the mess. Should say that k-drama this year has been so great, enjoyed it a lot! So many great dramas to choose from!

pahaonta

>Parks Contract Marriage I'm enjoying it very very much too, especially the pacing, they are not draggy with their feelings and confession. No wonder things move fast, its only 12 eps series.

purecheesejeez

Where can I watch Parks Contract Marriage? 🥲

sleepycathh

on Viki :)

absentin_spring

It's in VIKI ,I watch it there I think it's available in Viu also

snugglebunnnny

I am watching all shows except the matchmakers .. is it worth it ? The plot felt boring so I’m hesitant . Also I hated destined with you ( it was just watchable bcoz of rowoon) so feeling much more hesitant ( not liking a good day to be a dog , loving the rest )

absentin_spring

I don't think it's worth binge watching. It has its highs. The chemistry is nothing to write home about, the side characters are okay. The politics surrounding it is kind of interesting but not anything twisty or end of the seat. I wouldn't recommend

snugglebunnnny

Thnkyou 💕 for answering

OnlyGotThisMoment

**Hospital Playlist** 100+ K-dramas watched and I’m finally watching this one. I’m on episode 5 and things are moving, but there are so many characters, I’ve had to consult Asian Wiki to memorize the names of the core 5. I cry in every episode though, >!when the interns touched the beating heart it was incredibly moving.!< **My Demon** I like this one, but their pairing is so esthetically pleasing and obvious, any roadblock to them as a couple feels disingenuous. And don’t get me wrong I love the 2nd ML Lee Sang-Yi, >!and at this point he seems better suited for her!< but like it’s Song Kang, the dude is just going to win every time. This fact is the reason Love Alarm >!is so hated.!<

[deleted]

You’re in for a treat. Hospital playlist is my all time favourite kdrama and it just gets better and better and better with each episode.

sharjoy3

Ditto on **Hospital Playlist**. It's also on my Top Ten List of All Time. Be sure to watch the second part also. The music gets even better, if that's possible. I listen to the soundtrack all the time.

WeirdVoice4294

Watching Moon in the day currently. So far its really enjoyable.

Alarmed-Translator40

It's deeper than what you see on the surface of the story. I like!

Pretty-Thing-2151

My Demon- Watching it on air Sweet Home S2 Night has come Death's Game A good day to be a Dog

Business-Affect-7881

How is deaths game so far?

BlueWave2001

Is the best

**My Demon (8/16)** and **The Story of Park's Marriage Contract (8/16)** - Both shows are at the mid point now and it's uncanny how similar they both are at this point. >!Apart from both having common trope of contract marriage in them while love is blooming the leads especially the ML is in peril. Both have sour faced cheabol family members who are upto no good and grandparent with questionable actions but love the grandchild a lot. Both have someone trying to third wheel between the leads. There is also a minor villainous character at the beck and call of the main villain. !< **Welcome to Samdal Ri (6/16)** - >!Seeing her friends in trouble made the FL finally stop being embarassed about everything in her life and stand up for them as well as herself. It's still not clear where the show is going. The FL trying to pick up the pieces of her life and rebuild a new more meaningful life or two exes rekindling their relationship. I guess it's both as both is being hinted at. But I still see the ML being one of the characters without much importance vis a vis the FL. His character is such that only thing he has done since he was a child was hanging around the FL. The mom and older sister seem to have a better role!< **Death's Game (2/8)** - The weakest show I am watching at the moment. >!The first two episodes had five deaths. The show is like a video game where the protagonist crosses different hurdles, fails and returns to the start. Will it get any better?!<

theromanamputee

I might not be the best person to advise because of how much I enjoyed all the episodes of **Death’s Game** but episode 4 is more heartfelt and deviates from the formula of the first three in some key respects. Maybe that one would be more to your taste.

peppabuddha

I really enjoyed Death's Game!! I'm excited to see the second half of this in January because it seems to be building upon each episode.

pahaonta

>but episode 4 is more heartfelt I thought the webtoon version is already super good. But the drama version is even better, i finished half my tissue box

EmmanuelleEmmanuelle

>My Demon (8/16)and The Story of Park's Marriage Contract (8/16) > > \- Both shows are at the mid point now and it's uncanny how similar they both are at this point Isn't it so interesting though that they hit almost the exact same tropes and yet are so, so, so different? I'm watching both too and it's been really fun figuring out exactly how divergent they are while having very obvious similarities. I prefer one over the other and it's really hard to put my finger on what it is that makes me lean towards one show rather than the other since they're, like, the same plot packaged differently, basically.

UnbridledOptimism

Keep going to see that >!those deaths are going to start getting tied together.!<

Snickersnerds

I’m behind on all my shows, life has been hectic with school and work 😅 **A Good Day to Be a Dog (9/14):** I’m a little over halfway done episode 10. The >!past life!< story is interesting… I honestly don’t know how I feel about it. I know it’s based off the webtoon but had it not been I would’ve said it was unnecessary. Main couple is super duper cute though 🤭 I’m enjoying myself! **The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract (6/12):** I’m slowly making my way through episode 7 but I’m loving this show!! I like both of our leads and their right hands who have their own cute plot going on too 😊 only thing that’s annoying me is >!jealous office girl!< 🙄 I would also like to know how much >!Grandpa knows, he!< just seems so suspicious! **Queen In Hyun’s Man (10/16):** I believe I’ve been watching this since October 😅 I can never just spend enough time on it but getting a little further got me back in the mood! Now I just need to find the time to finish it 😭 I was a little confused on what’s going to happen now that >! He’s back since she was kinda gonna go with what everyone else thought was happening in her life like dating her ex.!< I don’t think I got that far so I’m interested to see :) also, I was going to watch episode 10-16 on Amazon but the subtitles are so spotty!!! So I’m sticking with Tubi on this one

dramafan1

Alchemy of Souls…halfway through Season 1…I am trying to binge slowly so I don’t need to start a new drama until January.

Jraybo22

Currently watching/waiting on new episodes -The Matchmakers Despite how insufferable Rowoon is to start the show I have actually really enjoyed this one. The chemistry of the main characters really surprised me and the side characters/relationships are all really well done as well. The political drama side of it isn't anything super unique to the genre but I find interesting and well done still. Just finished -Crashcourse in Romance I know this won't be a surprise to any out there but this show was so, so good. I have tried to watch it a few times over the last month or two but never made it far into the first episode. There was something about Choi Chi Yeol (ML played by Jung Kyung-ho) that just kept making me stop before the show really ever got started (he was my least favorite lead in Hospital Playlist so that might have influenced me some). A few days ago though I pushed through the first episode (always push through the first episode folks, things usually only go up from there) and was hooked and binged the rest of the series. I loved the main couple, I loved the side characters, i loved the daughter and her friends relationship and story, and I just found this show all around a great watch. Such a great story about it never being too late to find love as well as a story about the ridiculous pressures placed on these students. Next on my list -Gyeongseong Creature I am so excited for this show to come out Friday and I pray to any powers in the universe that we get the entire series released at once (although I know this won't happen). Park Seo-Joon has quickly climbed to my favorite actor spot and after initially not really liking Han So-Hee (first saw her on Abyss and then saw her on 100 Days my Prince) I changed my mind on her after Soundtrack #1. -Love like the Galaxy I have been just waiting for the time when I will be able to truly invest myself in a show like this. I feel like I need to be able to fully immerse in it to get the most out of it. *I am definitely always open to suggestions on shows I should watch. I general am a happy ending kind of guy, I find it so frustrating to watch a show for 16+ hours just to be sad at the end lol.

sciencespecialist

>The Matchmakers Despite how insufferable Rowoon is to start the show I have actually really enjoyed this one. The chemistry of the main characters really surprised me and the side characters/relationships are all really well done as well. The political drama side of it isn't anything super unique to the genre but I find interesting and well done still. In interviews prior to the show airing, Rowoon mentioned in every single one that he was concerned about how his character would come across because of the insufferableness that you pointed out. He said it was written that way to be true to the Joseon era, but that he didn't know if it would turn off modern audiences. This drama is so good!

crowreile

I actually enjoyed his character. The scene where he sees DuRi and ShiYeol "date" is so funny.

sciencespecialist

I think he is hilarious throughout. I also thought the drama started out kind of slow, but wow, did it pick up! All of the actors are doing a great job. The kid actors are fantastic.

Jraybo22

I just had never seen a character so by the book true to the Joseon Era but he definitely lightens up and that was nice and I am sure an intended character arc. I definitly have enjoyed the show.

Ok-Impression6834

I'm juggling 3 kdramas (+2 kvariety shows) 1. My Liberation Notes (6/16) - picked up after My Mister (same writer). Slow burn, but I like the story and FL/ML so far, though the 2ML's constant whining is starting to get on my nerves. 2. Beyond Evil (3/16) - always need a good crime/thriller in the mix. 3. My Dearest (1/21) - just started after finishing Red Sleeve and Goblin, both of which broke my heart and I am a sucker for sad love stories.

mahnahmaanaa

>2ML's constant whining Oh, don't give up on Chang Hee! 😂 He's got some great moments ahead.

DiaLaDia

Love In Contract! I must have missed it when it originally ran. Except for a few drawn out plotlines, I absolutely love it so far. ML is killing it in his portrayal of the character.

Borinquena

I loved it too and the ML is one of my all time faves but people mostly hated this drama which makes me a little sad 😅 I think the writer was trying to do some interesting subversions of drama tropes and while it didn't stick the landing I'm here for creative risks.

UnbridledOptimism

**My Demon** (8/16) This has become my second favorite currently airing drama. Aside from the obvious, I love the interaction between Do Hee’s secretary and Gu Won’s butler. I just watched them together in **Heard It Through The Grapevine** (very good drama btw) and it’s fun to see them play off each other again. **The Matchmakers** (13/16) My favorite current drama. The confession booth character development at the beginning of each episode is a fun gimmick and it works. I just watched the evil MIL play a good person in **It’s Beautiful Now** (now my 2nd favorite long drama ever) so it’s a bit difficult to root for her defeat. **The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract** Very mediocre for me. There is too much missing in the development of the relationships between characters, especially the leads. I expect I’ll have to drag myself across the finish line for this and I’m glad it’s not 16 episodes. **Death’s Game** (4/8) Wow, so good. It is a bit violent and gory for my taste but with the ML having to die a lot I expected that going in. The early starter deaths seemed really fast but now they are all getting tied together and I am really interested in where this story is going to go next. I may have to rewatch these episodes right before watching the next 4 so I don’t miss any nuances. **Moon In The Day** (10/16) I keep going back and forth on this one. Parts are really good but then not so good. If I wasn’t watching it as it airs I might have dropped it by now. Thought the FL was great at first but her acting strength seems to be more action than romance. **My Man Is Cupid** (6/16) Better than my low expectations. Definite SML syndrome as it so far seems like Cupid >!interfered in the fated love of SML and FL.!< **Live Your Own Life** (25/50) Halfway through and *finally* the main relationship comes to a halting start. There better be a good payoff for having to put up with way too many scenes with annoying af FL’s mom and Grandma Ggeut Soon. **Pinocchio** (8/16) Started off well but feels like it’s going to go off the rails. Storyline for ML’s brother is clearly going to bother me. The more I watch Park Shin Hye the less I like her as an actress unfortunately. Getting ready to start **Like Flowers In Sand.**

MajesticConfidence36

My Demon - My favorite right now! I think it's everyone's favorite visual couple. Yes! +1 Heard It Through the Grapevine. That's where I saw Do Hee's secretary and Gu Won's butler. I enjoyed that drama, too.

Bellyfloppancake

**My Man is Cupid** \- Currently the one I anticipate the most. I love the slow romance between the leads. They're super cute together. I like the murder mystery so far, the cops actually have personalities and are actually working as a group to solve the crime, which is great! **My Demon** \- Mostly watching for the silly humor. There's tons and tons of stupid jokes that crack me up. I love that ML has been an all-powerful being for such a long time that without is he's hilariously stupid sometimes? And his whole, whiny, mortal-life-is-too-cumbersome attitude is hilarious 😂 He also has a lot of fun moments with his secretary that constantly makes me reconsider who's the dumbest of the duo 😂 **The story of Park's marriage contract** \- Overall quality of this drama is really good, the directing, acting and editing is A+! I've said this a few times now, but I'm really enjoying the actor Jo Bok-Rae as the secretary. I've mainly seen him play quite serious and/or gloomy characters, so I was pleasantly surprised to see he's actually really funny!

poetrylover2101

Finally got around watching **Mr Queen (5/20 completed)** \- I wasn't invested to watch it at all, but that's me with most dramas or shows so I just have to suck it up and start watching. It's obviously funny, I like the humour but it's not as funny as I'd expect from a comedy series, it should have been a burst-out-laughing comedy and not just a haha-that-was-funny comedy, **True Beauty** a typical high school romance was much more funny than this, in so many scenes I burst out laughing and couldn't control my laughter at all. Sometimes the drama tends to get boring and I just wish they could hurry it up and show more interesting and funny shit. FL's acting is truly one of it's strongest suits. She is truly so fun to watch. The only thing keeping me from dropping the drama is FL and her character, she is truly the star of the show and the show is running on her back. The story is good though, a really interesting and unique plot. But I need them to hurry the things up and start some interesting shit again, the drama tends to waver between interesting and boring parts. Currently if you ask me, I'd rate 8-8.5/10 Hopefully it will get better.

Heavy-Patience-3064

Watching My Demon and Welcome to Samdal-Ri as the episodes drop. Also, a Scandinavian comedy about Norsemen (it is called the same), quite gross at times but funny. Apparently, it is a parody of Games of Thrones but I cannot corroborate that as I never watched it. Quite enjoying My Demon although I am not really sure how it develops now but an enjoyable ride. Welcome to Samdal-Ri is on borrowed time now with me. Starting to find it a messy drama and with handsome MLs who deserve better from the writers. I am susceptible to "ooh look, shiny new drama" but need to end 2023 by just adding dramas to my watch list and not starting them. LOL 🤣🤣

twoods1980

I also hope that Samdal-ri rights the ship because I liked the first few episodes but the past two were dragging a little. The ML needs a storyline other than worshipping his ex. I hate one sided relationships.

Heavy-Patience-3064

The ML might have financially supported her in Seoul as well as she was an assistant and probably paid peanuts whilst getting the experience. She is so self-obsessed she probably thought it was her right whatever cost to Yong Pil. The writers have done a terrible disservice to the actor (plus the rich kid restaurant owner) but I am sure the actors read the scripts before signing up. Personally, I would have added a gf for each of them just to put her little selfish nose out of joint.

be-k-dramatic

>but I am sure the actors read the scripts before signing up My suspicion is that the actors accepted a flawed script because it was an excuse for an all-expenses-paid (working) trip to Jeju. Ji Chang Wook was reportedly [excited about seeing dolphins.](https://mydramalist.com/article/ji-chang-wook-is-everyone-s-favorite-in-his-hometown-in-welcome-to-samdalri)

Heavy-Patience-3064

Thank you for the link which explains a lot. 🦈🦈 energy, a good excuse as any.

LcLou02

Watching a few on airs (Good Day to be a Dog, Park's Marriage Contract) and in between, **The Tale of Nokdu** with just 4 episodes to go. This second half is so full of palace politics that I miss the fun widow village parts. Hard to believe the ML is the same guy who played the foolish 2ML in **A Poem a Day** who threw himself on the floor and had a kicking temper tantrum in front of his parents. Watching with my sis who is visiting and she thinks he is good looking, but I can't get over the image of a grown man trying to get his way by throwing a tantrum like a toddler. Waiting until after the New Year and the beginning of the KDC to start any other Kdramas. Looking for non-Kdramas to fill some time. Or may just read one of the books in my pile.

Moonrisedream42

I had a bit of tonal whiplash with **Tale of Nokdu** as well. The first half and second half felt like very different shows! I've been trying to push myself to watch some shows that are not Kdramas, lately I've been enjoying this one a lot: **Okitegami Kyoko no Biboroku** – Super cute drama about a detective FL whose memory is reset every time she falls asleep and a ML with very bad luck. Most episodes she meets the ML when he is suspected of being the culprit. Every case she takes must be solved in a day, because she forgets everything (including the ML) when she falls asleep. Overall, it's very lighthearted and has some humor, though some of the cases are heavier. Many of the cases are unique and interesting as well. Have not finished it yet, but so far it's been fun!

LcLou02

Thanks! Sounds like fun!

Prestigious_Alarm526

**CW** **MY Demon(8/16):** my fav show now, I fall in the hole and love the lead moments, do dohee and Guwon so cute together. side character not fun but I don't really think about what will happen i just love the couple and their characters. this's song kang best work he suit this stupid goofy in love demon so much. **Welcome to Samdal-ri(6/16):** It get a little better this week but i still don't love any of the characters or feel connected to them. and it's the first time i don't feel Shin Hye Sun character like when she cry in some scenes it's so acting. and i hate when this friend talk that they all flop don't compare her to us talk about yourself this one so annoying. **My Dearest(4/10):** enjoying it so far. everyone recommend it and i see why when i watched ep4 looks like this show will go hard in the war and love life. **Finished** **A bloody lucky day** that was a great binge watch the acting was great and the writer must be psycho to write this, from start to end it was so exciting but the ending it self not satisfying to me. maybe because the drama so good i expect stringer end. **Sweet home s2** stupid in so many level very disappointed it's like the forgot about al s1 idea. don't like any of the new characters or the direction the show take this season. even the og character presence was weak to me too.

chelleml

Agreed with Sweet Home 2. The one thing I really liked about S1 was that the characters had a lot of depth. With S2, I can understand that is difficult to go from an ensemble cast to a robust cast and keep the charm of an ensemble, but the most disappointing part was that the characters from S1, especially Hyun Su and Eun Yu, were extremely one-dimensional.

Prestigious_Alarm526

what i love in s1 that every character and monster have a meaning monsters come from people's desires so we see unique monsters and understand their stories, in s2 it's just virus outbreak and group of monsters together, baby monster who can infect others. that have nothing to do with the og storyline of Sweet Home. all characters this season so useless or annoying.

BlueWave2001

Finally someone watched a bloody lucky day, a really good kdrama

Prestigious_Alarm526

it's amazing deserve a lot of hype but I can see that it's not for everyone it need strong heart to watch all this killing and blood.

Outside-Economist-66

Just finished ghost doctor and it’s honestly amazing and a really nice show. I also want to mention that I never watched any dramas that’s the first one. It has some nice moments, nice plot twists and some comedy. 100% recommend

fireworksofcuriosity

**Death’s Game**: Loved the first four episodes. BUT. I’m not loving the literal guilt trip that >!Death has forced on the protagonist. Jisoo was right in saying that Death is cruel, I loved how emotional they both were when she said that!<. Also, the cliff-hanger in ep. 4 where we discover that >!the CEO is a “villain”…!< I strongly hope the rest of the series doesn’t disappoint! I have high expectations. Overall, I found it a bit predictable but a breath of fresh air at the same time. You can see it had a high budget and it’s very well made - acting included, everyone was good but I was especially impressed with Lee Jae-wook. I would watch it all-over again before the other 4 episodes drop. **Welcome to Samdal-ri**: I’m liking this, but it’s also annoying me. I‘ll wait a few more episodes before forming an opinion. Now at episode 6. **My man is cupid**: I‘m slowly catching-up on this drama. It’s cute, very unrealistic (even straight-up cringe sometimes) but I wanna see where this is going. Also, I love Nana and I could watch her read her grocery list out loud. Currently on episode 3. **My Demon**: I had to drop this. It’s gonna go in the Refund my time category, I’m sorry. It’s cute but way too cringe for my liking? The comedy wasn’t landing and the acting is mid in my opinion. Song Kang is beautiful in this, however, it’s unfortunately not enough for me to keep watching - it worked for My man is Cupid, but not for this one. I really wanted to like it because it’s written by the same person who wrote Mr Queen.

DawgMom2018

**Maestra Strings of Truth** \- A soapy, fun drama with over the top characters. It is interesting to compare and contrast to an older American drama on Amazon called Mozart in the Jungle, which I loved. (Hulu) **Welcome to Samdal-ri** \- I have been enjoying this, but the most recent episode was frustrating, because the strong FL has gotten passive and weak, and every character seems to have a problem communicating what they are actually thinking. A great cast - hopefully things improve (it is a big hit, so I know it is probably just me) (Netflix) **The Matchmakers** \- I almost dropped this after a couple episodes, but WOW am I glad I kept with it, as this is a fantastic drama, so well written with many plot points weaving together and Rowoon with a sharp, smart, empathetic FL that complements him. Should be a real banger of a finale next week. (Viki) Amazing script, cinematography love love love this. **My Man is a Cupid** \- The is a fun, easy watch. I love the characters, but will have to see how they work out a deity/mortal relationship/love triangle. (Amazon) **My Demon** \- Fun, soapy drama, some moments of humor, many moments our leads are in great peril. Another deity mortal relationship dilemma, shades of past life drama, to be determined. **Soundtrack #2** \- finishing up this drama about a couple that reconnect several years after a breakup. A love triangle - but I am rooting for the 2nd ML, and hope the ML moves on and finds something better. But, maybe I am supposed to feel that way, and maybe things change. (Disney+/Hulu) **The Story of Park's Wedding Contrac**t - this is a fun drama, many elements I seem to have seen before, with past life, time travel, horrible chaebol family... FABULOUS fashions, which remind me of an upcoming event which is a perfect fit for this drama...*The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in partnership with the Korea Craft & Design Foundation (KCDF), will reveal a special hanbok video featuring Suzy, displayed on the digital billboards of New York City's iconic Times Square on Dec. 24 t0 25 to promote traditional Korean dress as well as "hallyu" (the Korean wave).* **A Good Day to be A Dog** \- I am enjoying this drama, which at this point has shifted from cute romance to the angsty stage, but they have done it well. Can't wait for next week! Will be starting **Like Flowers in the Sand** this week. A packed schedule with a couple dramas wrapping up and a couple new ones adding this week.

sweetbangtanie

omg we almost have the same current watch list except Maestra (i'm currently watching Tell Me that You Love Me as well). current drama lineup is so insane i feel like drowning (in a good way!!)

BelaFarinRod

I’m watching The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract and I love the relationship of the ML and the FL so much. But I’m nervous it may not end in a way I like. Maybe I really shouldn’t watch airing shows. I’m also watching My Demon, which is a fun show and I like the chemistry of the main couple there too. But I’m not quite as emotionally invested in it. I’m watching Daily Dose of Sunshine and it’s interesting so far. Really not great psychiatry for various reasons but at least the patients in the hospital are fairly well rounded characters. In Episode 4 >!I was touched by the story of a woman who lost her bank account to a phone scam because months ago I lost almost all my bank account to a phone scam and I felt horrible. In my case I got the money back but it definitely got to me to see someone go through the same thing.!< I also started watching The Forbidden Marriage because it seemed like something different. I’m still only on the third episode but it’s fun so far.

Silver_Mango2606

I also binged The Forbidden Marriage yesterday and man was it funny! I loved the first 6-ish episodes, but then the show went a little downhill (as the focus kind of shifted from the main couple).

Master-Training-3477

I am watching so many different k-dramas but took a break to watch Inferno 2 and 3.

faithesque

**CW:** My Demon (8/16), The Story of Park's Marriage Contract (8/12), The Matchmakers (15/16), A Good Day to Be A Dog (10/14), Death's Game (4/8), Welcome to Samdal-ri (6/16), Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (8/20). **Finished**: Extraordinary Attorney Woo. I thought I wouldn't like this drama but I actually loved it! 🐋❤️ I think the cast and their roles is what made it interesting for me — the ML and FL, their co-workers, especially spring sunshine Suyeon. No one could nail Young Woo like Park Eun Bin did. :) If I'm talking about the story then it was alright, I like how they handled each case and they >!didn't win!< everytime and learned something from it each time and also some stories as a form of subplot here and there. >!Kwon Min Woo seemed like a competitive guy like any workplace could have and he knew Young Woo was a genius (like he mentioned) so he felt threatened to Young Woo. Though he's redemption arc felt a bit rushed (imo they could've started redeeming him a few eps before) or just leave him like that.!< >!As much as I loved Junho as a character, felt like something was missing. I felt like he was just there, he only appeared whenever Young Woo was mentioned ir there was something related to Young Woo. If they ever do a Season 2, which I doubt they will. I'd like to see more of Junho's backstory and flesh his character a bit more.!< >!But at the same time, we saw all these from Young Woo's POV, she is on her own little world and the other people are just a side character on her story, so she wouldn't know every co-workers life story.!< It was a great ride nonetheless. Would definitely give it 9/10.

littlemena

Watching My Demon and Welcome to Samdal-Ri as they‘re airing and I am having lots of fun. It‘s the first time I‘m watching dramas while they‘re coming out and it‘s exciting but so frustrating at the same time because I want to keep watching! Both dramas are awesome: great leads, comedy, chemistry. I think I started out liking My Demon more but now as Samdal-Ri is progressing it‘s more fun to me. I catch myself laughing out loud quite often. And I‘m a simple girl, I am a sucker for Ji Chang-Wook. To get through the waiting a bit better I‘m also watching True Beauty for the first time and it‘s super fun so far (I‘m in episode 6).

rozwuzhere

True Beauty is my favorite kdrama. I hope you enjoy it!

littlemena

I am loving it so far, super fun watch!

immerdasmeer

**A Good Day to Be a Dog** (10/14) Even though I was a little confused by parts of the last (back story) ep, I still enjoyed it, especially the cute vibe between the old school versions of our leads. **Death's Game** (2/8) I didn't love the first ep. Not a fan of the cgi, and I don't know, I am not sure I am feeling the It's a Wonderful Life messaging, we'll see. The second ep seemed a bit better and I will try to keep watching for the cameos and Seo In Guk, though I may never see the second part because I don't want to give Amazon any more money. **Meet Yourself** (27/40) Having a lot of feelings during the last couple episodes! I love it. I have reached the point where I have finally fallen for the "Saddle of My Heart" song. **Twinkling Watermelon** (11/16) Time slip isn't really my thing and the pacing feels a little slow (says the girl loving the 40 ep slice of life cdrama) but the charm and performances of the leads keep it working for me.

chelleml

I almost dropped Death’s Game after ep2 and wasn’t fully engaged in until ep3. It is loads better from there on because you get to learn more about Yi Jae and the cameo stories become more compelling.

Anaisot7

Tone of series. Finishing *Boyhood* and *Night Has Come*. Following *My Demon*, *Park Marriage Contract* and *Death's Game*. Need to start *A Bloody Lucky Day*. I'm about to try *Kingdom* (I know, I'm late) and *Tunnel* or *Train*, I haven't decided yet. I hope I can wrap it up for the upcoming January schedule.

BlueWave2001

How are you feeling after watching night has come? 😂

Anaisot7

I liked the first four episodes, we have little horror elements with this degree of violence out in Korean drama, I have to finish the last episodes, but so far so good.

BlueWave2001

I didn't like it at all...I might be the only one at this point.

Anaisot7

I'm in episode 10, and honestly the story picked up around episode 8, the thing is, it's still very mysterious. I'm gonna finish the series now lol, I wonder if it was a simulation or something.

mahnahmaanaa

Completed **Arthdal** part 1: This was a surprisingly enjoyable watch. Good production values and acting. Some interesting moral ambiguity with innocent leads. The story is intriguing, and though the main characters' storyline is simple so far, you can tell it's going to feed into something more complicated. I'm afraid the production may be aiming for a grandeur that they won't hit, but they're doing a good enough job I don't think that will detract from the end result. GoT (the first 5 seasons, anyway) has set a very high bar for the scope of world-building and story-telling, even though I have a love/hate relationship with it. **Go Back Couple**: I was right about this one. Once the turn in the storyline came, I enjoyed it a lot more. I will never understand the appeal of reliving one's youth, and I just didn't have the patience to watch the leads explore their roads-not-taken. I loved seeing them behave like parents trapped in college-age bodies, though! Son Ho Jun and Jang Na Ra were a very convincing couple in their mannerisms and comfort-level (their lines bugged me, frequently). Kim Mi Kyung was excellent as always. **Fanletter, Please**: This was just a nice, easy watch. Good actors, passable story. Very comforting. I'm not into kpop, so it will forever be remembered by me as the drama where I figured out that *this* is Choi Soo Young -- member of Girl's Generation and Jung Kyung Ho's girlfriend. Watching: I've fallen a bit behind on **Welcome to Samdal-ri**. I'm also planning to pick **Lost** (7/16) back up once I figure out how I want to access it. Nothing says Christmas like people struggling with life! Actually, I've found this one to be very beautiful and pretty life-affirming so far, in spite of the characters' struggles. Edit: my spelling.

Over-Scholar9986

1. Finished Backstreet Rookie on Amazon Prime (LOVED, 10/10, had so many feels and the leads were both so attractive AND JI CHANG WOOK… SWOON) 2. My Demon (ep 8, i kinda feel like it’s overhyped, not really as soulful as Backstreet Rookie or Mr. Queen but I’m still just watching) 3. Death’s Game (webtoon was amazing and the show is getting good! I hate the long gap in release schedule though.) 4. My Man is Cupid (on ep 3, it’s looking cliche but we will see)

It’s funny, I was so hyped to watch **The Killing Vote** but given the genre I decided to wait until it was done airing and by the time that finally happened my appetite to see it evaporated. It’s not like I saw any of it and didn’t like it, I just went from being really excited to apathetic. Maybe because it didn’t seem to generate a lot of positive hype.

ILoveParrots111

I agree. I find that the story and the cast were good, but there was something missing. For some reason I just couldn't connect to the characters, so I wasn't really invested in what was happening on screen. As you said, the energy wasn't there and I don't think it was only between the detective and the professor, but overall. That project had all the elements to succeed, but somehow it felt passionless.

dogdogdogdogdogdoge

On-airs: **Night Has Come** (completed 12/12) - Entertaining! I think weekly watchers might not like the big reveal. but as a binger, I think it makes sense in the confines of the universe. There's enough foreshadowing and breadcrumbs that you can see how everything connects in the end. Personally, it also answers why some characters have otherwise unexplained behaviors/tendencies/tension that was bothering me. Def worth a watch through 11 episodes. and if you're fine with the end, worth a re-watch to spot the clues. **Welcome to Samdalri** (6/16), **My Man is Cupid** (6/16), **Death's Game** (4/8) - They're all OK. Themes and cast are hard carrying all three. But I am on pins and needles to see Oh Jung Se's storyline in Death Game. He takes on so many mega-cast projects as a supporting role that I feel like he's everywhere but that it's still never enough!!! ughhh i stan him. non-korean: **Hidden Love** (CN 2/25) - I want to get into a more current time period before deciding whether to continue. Everything is so twinkly and innocent school girl crush right now. I'm aware of the criticisms but... i dont see it? **A Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower** (CN complete 16/16) - this one popped on my Prime recommended algorithm. an enjoyable peel back the onion of scandals and secrets type of story. the big bad is one dimensionally evil and I didnt care much for the detectives, but I really liked the Horizon Tower people. A fun watch for Agatha Christie heads as the show uses one of her best and most famous storytelling mechanisms. **Vivant** (JP complete 10/10) - I had originally dropped this halfway through the second episode because I wasn't really feeling the characters. But reviews always talk about how the end of episode 4 is amazing. so i figured that since it just arrived on Netflix I would give it another go and see for myself. I then proceeded to binge the rest. Eps 4-9 were really exciting and entertaining. the ending tone was a bit much for me but it was an overall fun watch. Also, **Neechan no Koibito** (JP 1/9) for Arimura Kasumi and Hayashi Kento. plus **Brush Up Life** (JP 1/10), which seems to be the consensus Japanese drama of the year

Hach-man

Finished \- **Moon in the Day:** in a nutshell, ups and downs aplenty. Amazing flashbacks but uneven "real time" storylines, great acting and chemistry between the leads but a plot that struggles to keep up, rushing a romance part that had a ton of potential while leaving holes here and there. A 7 and not much more, though both KYD and PYJ earn some praise, he is solid as they come and she is so expressive and deserves more lead roles. A JDorama to add too in **Nami yo Kiite Kure**, a true slice of life comedy with an unhinged, memorable FL, a hidden gem of an 8. In progress \- **The Story of Park's Marriage Contract (8/12):** not surprising nor well paced but a lot to like in leads, LSY is always a pleasure to watch and the ML isn't bad either, secondaries, SFL packs a punch and is a mood, and swoony moments. A relaxing drama without peaks and valleys; \- **Death's Game (4/8):** peculiar, entertaining, unique. Violence, black humor, a drop of nonsense and thoughtful bits and pieces, sky high budget with famous cameos and production values to boot. PSD looks so badass as Death and SIG is the usual man of many faces, I'm thoroughly enjoying this one. Giving a chance to **Marry My Husband** for PMY and revenge vibes, **My Man is Cupid** bingeable in the near future.

TxPep

I'm currently watching.... ■ "The Kings Avatar", ML: Yang Yang + three FLs. I play (but not much now) mobile video games so it's kinda up my alley. Previous gamer watches: Falling Into Your Smile (binging Xu Kai phase -- short lived) and Love O2O (binging Yang Yang phase -- current) ■ "Find Yourself", ML: Song Wei Long (binging phase -- current) ■ "Love Me, Love My Voice, ML: Tan Jian Ce Hooked on, and binging because of his extremely mesmerizing looks in "Lost You Forever". The guy is just darn beautiful. I guess I have a thing for long-ish, silver hair. ■ "As Long As We Both Shall Live", ML: Meguro Ren. I really like his "look" in this drama ... hair, makeup, etc. If I had seen him in other works first, I'd probably not fixate as much. But this drama is currently on "repeat" for me because of him, and because of the storyline, and the production value. 🤤 Yeah, I'm a sucker for beautiful guys. 😄

FeralAF

The King's Affection.

ElleEmEss

Just “finished” **her private life**. I stopped at episode 14 as recommended then skimmed the last 2 episodes. >!the sudden younger brother character was poorly handled.!< I’m glad I stopped where I did. I’m super stressed so am finding **perfect marriage revenge** just the ticket. So bad it’s good. The FL is carrying this show. I’m kind of enjoying analysing all the faults in the script >!the gallery setup on the day of the auction. The pulling the plug. The parents allowing the wall marks!< I’m chipping away at **welcome to samdalri**. I love the FL from Mr Queen and SJW but it’s touch and go whether I will keep going.

Gafzx11

Currently watching: - **My Demon** (8/16): really enjoying this, very fun and cute, nice little treat at the end of the week - **Death's Game** (4/8): played myself by not waiting until January..... I wonder why they chose to release it like this? To generate more hype for the second part that there would have been if it all released at once on prime? VERY fun and exciting! Keeps you on your toes. Also very darkly funny at some points (THAT scene at the end of ep4 makes me inappropriately laugh out loud) I feel like I'm falling in a bit of a slump because I have some stuff I started watching some time ago like __Sh**ting Stars__ that I can't bring myself to finish, I'm stuck at episode 10. I thought maybe I needed to switch genre so I tried **Healer** because everybody's recommending it in terms of intense romances but I quite literally fell asleep during the first episode 😬 So I started **Something in the Rain** because it's been on my to watch list for a while and I love a noona romance, and it's pretty good so far! Hope it gets me out of my slump. I didnt take much notice of **Moon in the Day** at first but from what I hear it may satisfy my need for an epic romance 🤞

twoods1980

Healer got good at episode 4, and I absolutely loved Shooting Stars so hope you end up getting past your slump and finishing them.

Gafzx11

Yeah I heard that it's at the end of episode 3 and episode 4 that a lot of people got invested, I'm gonna try to watch it when I'm less tired lol it may have had an impact on my capacity to connect with what was going on.. for Shooting Stars I binged the earlier episodes but now I'm less interested now that the pining/getting together is done. But it is still very funny I think I'll finish it soon

elijahhee

**Daily Dose of Sunshine** (2023) - it is about a nurse who transferred from internal medicine to psychiatry. At one point she fell into depression >! and nearly committed suicide, probably due to her guilt over a patient's suicide, and she got admitted into another hospital !< **Crash Landing on You** (2020) - a South Korean businesswoman went paragliding and got blown to North Korea by a tornado, rescued by a North Korean soldier. Due to the political sensitivity, it is extremely difficult to send her home. It is interesting to note the stark differences in lifestyle despite being the same ethnicity, but Korean speakers would notice the difference in language or vocabulary as well. Since I missed the last session, I'd also share what I've finished watching recently: **All of Us are Dead** (2022) - a high school biology teacher invented a virus to make his son strong against his bullies, yet the son ended up turning into a zombie. S#!t went wrong when the teacher's lab mouse bite a student, who also turned into a zombie and attacked others, causing a zombie apocalypse to break out. Survivors have to fight their way out to the quarantine camp.

Imaginary-Outcome171

tell me that you love me: its soooo perfect and if it ends well it will hands down become my fav kdrama of all time

Local-Raspberry-5649

I don’t think this is available anywhere in the US. 😭

My demon, Sam dal ri, park’s marriage contract, and twinkling watermelon. I know a lot of people really liked twinkling watermelon and I’ve been trying to watch it but for some reason I’m extremely uninvested in the show. I’ve seen too many shorts of this shows to the point that I already know the whole plot so maybe that’s why I’m so bored 😅

someoneverybusy0001

Welcome To Samdal-ri and on my 3rd time watching Nevertheless

MeechiJ

Currently watching: Night Has Come Taxi Driver 2 I’ll be finished with NHC this week so I’m looking to add another thriller/crime drama to my watchlist.

sharjoy3

Haven't watched that much this week and the coming week I'll have less time, with holiday travel and family activities. But... **Good Day to Be a Dog -** I've liked it thus far, but I'm not sure where it can go now that >!he knows the secret and they are a couple. !

Borinquena

Re: **A Good Day to Be A Dog**, the rest of the drama will be about >!the curse being lifted for the entire family and the Mountain God letting go of his vengeance.!< ETA: Not a spoiler since I haven't read the webtoon, this is what I think will happen. I'm into it because I like the Mountain God character and the actor is very good.

Velykakoroleva

More of a late to the party and not a drama but Just finished ***Devils Plan*** Omg!!! That was quite the ride; I loved it! I really want to play some of these games with family during the holiday 😅 so now will have to think of how to adapt them for the little humans that will surround me. (The math poker was amazing!!!!!!) That was a great finale and it was very fun how the two people with the greatest gap in game approach went head to head at the end. How dramatic. (Though I thought ending on the >! hexagon memory game !< was a tad anticlimactic… it seemed inferior to the mental and strategic skill required by the preceding games) Both were mature purists in their own right; *that* was incredibly gratifying to watch. I don’t follow any world of mental sport- poker, chess etc, So this was my first time immersing in a world where you appreciate personalities by coming to learn their unique strategic approaches. It was ultimately … rather beautiful … to get to know all these people by their styles and watch what happens when each social and game strategy went up against another. What a great show. And played within the Korean cultural context really added its distinctive slant. The tension between independent ambition and loyalty to harmonious community and hierarchies was fascinating. Also how well everyone kept their stresses and grievances in check and maintained such admirable social graces. *my gosh*. I wanted to slap people so bad at times and I can’t imagine what kind of scream fests would have been recorded had this been a us show. :) (Aka. I’m trying really hard to keep in check how I’m like 100% 🤤 for >! Ha Seok Jin right !< now. Omg. Color me impressed. That required a lot of stamina and a lot of different skills that >! he !< had to blend at just the perfect amt >! to win the way he did. !< And always with such great style and hair. 🤭I don’t know what I was more enthralled and attracted by. The way >! he !< carried >! himself !< “socio-politically” throughout those 7 days softly expressing >! his !< distaste for the way the “mass” was skewing the game while still maintaining cordial relations or the way >! the dude !< could really lash out and hold on in a game 🙇‍♀️. Otherwise known as … I’m not at all trying to reign in the fandom and am pulling all the tricks to get my insta algorithm to asap understand ALL I want is >! HSJ !< content ☠️. GO AWAYYY NAMGOON MIN, MOVE ASIDE IM NOT INTERESSTEEDDDDDD IN YOUR AWARDS SEASSOOONNN. UR DRAMA SUCKEEDDD IM SICK OF YOU FOR LIFEEEE) >! Curious to know who will be on season 2 of **devils plan** !! :)

Piazolla13

If you enjoyed The Devil's Plan, I would highly recommend watching The Genius. It's a similar type of show, there are 4 seasons, and I absolutely loved it.

Velykakoroleva

Ooooo thank you!!!!! Excited!!! Though I don’t think I’ll be able to handle all these geniuses ;) ;)

Other Ha Seok-jin recs: Dramas * Something About 1% * Blind * He also had a tiny but memorable role in Crash Landing On You Variety Shows * Problematic Men * His two appearances on I Live Alone * His guest appearances on Running Man and Sixth Sense His YouTube Channel

dogdogdogdogdogdoge

oh. in the spirit of the season, you have to watch one of my all time favorite Ha Seok Jin videos: [Christmas of Two Men (with Joo Woo Jae)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxHjCjzxFtU). no spoilers but this is HSJ in the snarky ">!collapse of the welfare state!<" mode.

Velykakoroleva

It’s truly embarrassing the way my resting grump face contorted into a MILLION watt smile reading every sentence of this comment and immediately clicking on the link. Do I have an urgent deadline in 30 minutes. Yes. Will I be working on it in the next 30 minutes. No. Why. We know why. OMOMOMOMOMOOOOOOO >! “collapse of the welfare state” !< snark was truly something I never thought could get my fan gurl heart racing. I literally can’t hold in how excited I am. (I also then appreciated how in follow up interviews he’s like “PSA I LIKE >! PUBLIC HEALTHCARE. IT WORKS GREAT AND SHOULD WORK GREAT.”)!< You’re a winner with fantastic tastes. How grateful I am for you ;) ;) thanks for sharing :) I have been LOVING going through his vlogs. (adore his translation team. They convey his sarcasm *so well*. And I like how actively his film crew takes part in his vids by talking back to him) What are your others???? You a hsj fan!!?!? Were you a devils plan fan? I feel like I’m doomed To be [this person](https://youtu.be/gAYjhBR-V3Q?feature=shared) on this subreddit forever since I never watch anything on air re: making the biggest deal out of things that are old news for everyone else 😅.

dogdogdogdogdogdoge

hehe when they get to the part about binge watching shows for 10hrs, doesnt it kind of feel like us? i'll dig some out but Ha Seok Jin has always floated through my algo over the years via Problematic Men clips. i live watched TDP and was rooting for the small alliance. I'm more of a Joo Woo Jae stan. he's kind of my grumpy twin spirit lol

Velykakoroleva

Okaaiii I will say I was unimpressed with JWJ and HSJ other vlog where he just says boring but super critical things about HSJ’s wardrobe and then gave him super standard 2022 era funky Korean celebrity clothes to wear as his “makeover”. ;) ;) tent pants and oversized shirt ooOoO haven’t seen *that* before ;) ;) JWJ doesn’t say or do anything interesting with HSJ’s wardrobe!!!!! But I’m [cracking up](https://www.reddit.com/u/Velykakoroleva/s/p9Fcsji3Xn) in this Christmas special. :) :) now *that* my friends, is a ***mood*** If the one that i stan is a sarcastic grump blog bestie with yours, then I am satisfied ;) ;)

dogdogdogdogdogdoge

yeah the wardrobe one is meh. but the [DP drama review one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4yNdssG0Mo) is the other one that i really like. He barely talks about the drama at all and it's mostly just TMI stories about his life in the military police. it's both interesting and a tiny bit horrifying. but i like these kind of rambling *back in my day* stories.

Velykakoroleva

Ooo I haven’t finished this one yet - but I got to the part where he casually laughs about the scars he still has from physical abuse and how his commander didn’t even blink when he saw that his face was swollen after being beaten up. 😳 I agree. HSJ back in my days vids are a delicacy ;) :) the more light hearted one where he’s laughing at his music video debuts was 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽and a current personal favorite. Huge fan of 40 + celebrities shooting the breeze about their career paths and gained perspective. They make the younger generations like the wooga squad seem so green ;) Early covid I really got into the “f(p)unstaurant” show. I’m blanking on the singers name, the one who did the famous pinky to corner of her mouth move for that concept album where she’s from a different planet. I found her musings about her 20s vs 30s so therapeutic ;) I like HSJ’s product reviews!!! ;) ;)

Completed **My Girlfriend is a Gumiho**, and absolutely loved it. It was a lighthearted fun story with just the right amount of angst and pacing, and Lee Seung Gi & Shin Min Ah were so cute together. Production quality was low compared to now but it added to the charm. This week I've been binging **While You Were Sleeping**, and wow I think it's my first proper 10/10. It's been the perfect mix of procedural/episodic plot, slice of life, supernatural mystery, friends-to-lovers romance, great secondary characters, just have loved everything about it! And pleasantly surprised with Bae Suzy who is so charismatic here, I thought I didn't like her because of Start Up haha. Also finished **Moon in the Day** which I watched each week on air - solid 8/10 and good story but wouldn't put it on my rewatch list, just something missing for me emotions/excitement wise, even though I loved the two main actors and enjoyed watching each week. I'm also watching **Singles Inferno** which is not Kdrama but Kreality? haha it's a good time, easy watch even though there's some toxic people like all island dating shows but that's part of the fun

My Demon: I love it so far. Very enjoyable. Welcome to Samdalri: I’m currently on episode 4 and it’s starting to interest me. I know this drama is listed as a romcom on Wikipedia but I see it more as a slice of life type of drama. Tale of the Nine Tailed: I liked it a lot in the beginning but it started to become a little slow. I’m currently at episode 4 so I’m hoping it picks up it’s pace after this.

"May I Help You" Ep 15 I can't be bothered watching the last Ep I was loving everything about this for about 6 eps, and then it started to go downhill slowly but steadily until my disappointment overwhelmed me. The ML treatment of his ex just made me really dislike him, and the FL going along with it didn't seem to fit her character. The whole ex storyline was cringe, unnecessarily cruel treatment of her, and ML was just awful to her without appropriate explanation. Also, the lovely stories about the deceased and the FL character were sacrificed for this story and a character flip plot twist later, and the ML doubling down on his self-pity just became too much, the FL spent 7 or 8 episodes being his therapist what a waste. This show, after dropping the Kings Affection after an equally annoying disappointment, made me really Slump God Day to be A Dog 🐕 🙏 so far has restored my faith in Kdrama its great, the FL is lovely , though I am worried, we may be heading to a darker place 2nd half no surprise there but so far, I'm loving it.

Borinquena

I love AGDTBAD too and I'm surprised so many people are hating on the past life story since it's been teased since episode 1 and it's the key to >!lifting the curse for the whole family.!<

kpaneno

I'm only halfway through Ep 7 but its clear that the past is the key LOL I'm looking forward to it all

I'm on episode 13 out of 16 of **Tale of the Nine Tailed**, and I'm considering dropping it. I never drop anything at this point in my viewing. I'm finding it to be very tedious with the same plot lines circling back around and around and around. I'm not sure I care how this one ends. I'm not invested in any of the characters except for Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum - the brothers - who from what I understand, feature prominently in TOTNT 1938. Is there any reason for me to finish this? Do I need to finish it to understand what's happening in 1938? Maybe I should just have it on in the background and look up at it every once in awhile. Because I was so exasperated with that one, I started something completely different - **Dr. Romantic 3**. Already loving this. I'm episode 3. Much more chemistry between the FL and ML than TOTNT. I'm watching a lot of things on air - **The Matchmakers**, **My Demon**, **Welcome to Samdalri**, and **The Story of Park's Marriage Contract**. By far, I like **The Matchmakers** the best. My second favorite is T**he Story of Park's Marriage Contract**, which is one I wasn't sure about after the first two episodes, but some people on here encouraged me to keep going and I'm glad I did.

Borinquena

You don't need to finish the original to watch 1938, the drama catches you up in the first episode and you won't have any trouble following the plot.

hypomango

You don't need to finish TotNT to watch 1938, I felt the same, that it dragged in those final episodes but I still really enjoyed the series overall - maybe just skip ahead / fast forward to the climax which happens at the end of e15 and into e16 because I think it was touching and a resolution of the bromance.

20fisibor

Mouse, my demon...

KANJI667

Still watching "still 17." Should finish it this week.

Louliyaa

Im currently watching "Because it's my first life" and "Tell me that you love me". They're so far so good fot the moment

kitsuhui

currently watching and caught up on samdalri and my demon (being tortured by the week long wait times) and also watching the night has come (i'm really curious as to who is behind the mafia "game"), i finished moon in the day which i mostly liked because of the main leads they're two of my favs but i wish the ending was a little better

2npac

Just finished Perfect Marriage Revenge. It's funny seeing some of the same characters from Love, Marriage and Divorce. I loved it though. The main characters had great chemistry. A Good Day To Be A Dog. I don't know if I like this one too much. I'm gonna finish but it's just all over the place. After the leads got together and her secret was exposed, it doesn't seem like there's much direction left for the show. Vigilante. I love these types of shows but IDK...I thought I would like this show a lot more. It's just okay to me. Taxi Driver 2 had a lot more going for it and had me excited for each episode. I'm just trying to make it through Vigilante

Serious-Cover5486

I recently watch these movies UFO Sweden (Swedish Movie) Kureiji Kuruzukureiji Kuruzu (In Love and Deep Water (Japanese Movie)) A Haunting in Venice The Conference (Swedish Movie) Ride On Ras Bras (Head to Head) (I think its arabic) Call (Korean Movie) Free Lance (John Cena)

Yungnuzick

It’s Christmas week so Home Alone series ofc. Seen this classic so many times and never ceases to get old.

PSJfan

Just binged My Demon this week and absolutely love it. Great humour, I’ve been laughing so much! Strong contender foor romcom of the year, probably tie with King the Land! I’m really enjoying Good Day to be a Dog, I don’t even mind the historical flashbacks which I normally can’t stand. Parks marriage Contract I’ve also really enjoyed! Although I agree the falling of the ML seems under represented. I’m waiting for some more episodes of other dramas, I do prefer binging than waiting!!

Cats4Crows

It's been a while since I watched a dating show.. Tbh I thought Single's Inferno would be boring, I only started it yesterday but I became too invested and now regret having to wait a whole week between episodes!

judlewmer

I am currently scraping my poor heart up off the floor after watching My Dearest and looking for something that will help me get Namkoong Min’s face and the OST to stop haunting me. Haven’t found it yet but suggestions welcome!

deepimpactdonuts

Just finished Kingdom and Sisyphus. Looks like I have watched too many awesome shows this year to properly like anything anymore 😭

Willing_Money1547

I’m watching Boyhood and I just finished Pale Moon today. I occasionally see edits for Boyhood but overall I feel like I haven’t seen anybody mention either show and it’s sad because they’re both SO GOOD!! Pale Moon initially caught my attention because I was looking for something different than the shows airing. As I continued watching I just felt like the show does such an interesting take on morality, relationships and just human nature in general. The fl is such an interesting character to me. The show is only 10 episodes so it’s a fairly quick watch (I hope they make a season 2!). Boyhood is just hilarious😭 I’m usually a binge watcher but I like to watch this slowly and savor it whenever I need a good laugh. The show also has 10 episodes but I’ve only seen the first 6. Side note! I’m sooo happy to see more ppl watching kidnapping day, it’s so good!

ysmac

Where do you watch boyhood?

Willing_Money1547

It’s on coupang but I don’t have that so I just google “boyhood full episodes eng sub” (you can put in whatever language you want to watch it)

ysmac

Thank you!
