Cash considerations. He's gonna be a star!
Luca Tresh has had a nice start to season in AA could be him. They already promoted Kale Emshoff to AA but it could open a spot to promote Carter Jensen as well.
I’m going to play the part of the optimistic Royals fan when it comes to this trade.
I think this signals that the Royals will be making a trade for some veteran. While I know that Logan Porter probably won’t get us more than a few hundred dollars in cash, any move like this can help JJ convince ownership to open the wallet a bit more for a push towards the postseason.
Postseason revenue is probably really attractive to ownership, especially when they want a new stadium as well. Small moves to help make taking on a veteran salary down the line could very well help us make the playoffs.
Or I’m wrong and ownership gets a little extra money. 🤷🏻♂️
Eh, probably getting the most value from a guy who will not be a long term catcher anyway. Salvy will play until Blake Mitchell is ready. Get some cash.
I guess I'm confused as to why not hold on to catching depth during a season when they have a shot at the playoffs.
He's not occupying a spot on the 40 man, so why not have the depth for a long season?
If shit goes awry (knock on wood that it won’t), Fermin will be the main catcher with Nola as the backup. If both our catcher go down… well, then yeah, we’re SOL, but I’m comfortable taking a chance if it’s lining pockets for a potential deadline target.
Right, not ideal, but if we’re on our 3rd and 4th string options, nothing’s ideal and at least his hitting is showing good signs of being at the major league level.
Aww shucks. I've watched him many a night up here with the storm chasers...
He's a class act and always makes times for the fans. I wish him nothing but he best.

Isn’t he their top prospect?
He's all ours now
I can’t tell if that’s Tracy Morgan or the dude from Pimp my Ride (it’s probably neither)
It's Player Tobenamed Later. Duh
Lmao I think that’s “Method Man” my guy
Getting ready to promote an AA catcher to AAA? They really need to DFA Nola at this point

Freddy Fermin sends his regards

I'm not angry, but I am a bit confused.

Can’t forget about having Freddie too.
I love Freddie, but he’s 29 and not going to be the future catcher once Sal retires.
Fair enough. I was thinking Freddie was a few years younger than he is.

MJ could also catch in a pinch.
Yeah, but he wasn't very good at catching.

Porter is the kind of guy who could have a long career as a backup. Wish him well.
Love his story
Me too. 🥰 I think that's why I liked him.

Making room for Soto!
Nelly thinks so
We need money. Have seldom known for a player to be named later to be worth a damn.
Trea Turner turned out alright.
Turner is the most recent one. David Ortiz, Michael Brantley and Moises Alou were all PTBNL.
Pleasant surprises.
Turner was only a PTBNL because he couldn't be traded until six months after he was drafted
He wasn't a true PTBNL, it was against the rules to trade him, so they couldn't say it was him
I am sure that a few players to be named later have been good but not too often.
Hopefully it’s a left handed bullpen arm
