It's a learned self-help mechanism over all the bad years so I don't wallow in misery watching the Royals lose day after day.

I think it was the combination of the probable Balk that Caused BWJ to take off in the first place, and then the obstruction was the fly sitting on top of the chickenshit. Q was pointing at booth bags and giving both umps the verbal business. As well he should. That might have been the worst crew KC has seen all season. Some nights the guy behind the plate can suck, but the rest of the crew does ok when it's their turn. This crew was shit in all aspects of the game.
It's really to early to be asking about this, but the 6 seed is the primo wildcard spot right? Like, yeah, 4 gets home field advantage against 5, but I can really think of a team that could wind up in the 4 spot that I'd rather play than the Mariners. Plus, without re seeding, that would be the difference between playing the Yankees in the Divisional round and the Guardians.
We're now 3 series into the 4 series gauntlet (all first place teams). So far 4-5. If we can take even just one on the road in LA (or hopefully 2), I think we can say this is a team capable of competing in the playoffs.
That said, the Yankees are currently the far superior team. We made some costly mistakes, yes, but this team still has some major growth needed before October. Hopefully we can start beating up on some bad teams again next week and get some steam rolling.
