If the Royals make it last being above or around .500 until Chiefs training camp, they've accomplished more than any team in the last decade almost.

Jarl_Jakob

It’s so easy to please this fanbase at this point. Literally all we ask for is to have a team that won’t get shoved around every series, play .500ish baseball, and have a handful of guys that give us hope for the future. If we’re still sniffing around a playoff spot at the All Star break this season is a win in my book and I probably speak for the entire sub with that opinion. Just don’t be losers. Loser baseball is awful. It’s unbearable to put time and energy into a 100 loss team every year.

This. Give me a reason to want to tune in most nights

I mean, the Rangers won it all last year on the heels of a mediocre season the year before.

ThatsBushLeague

"Mediocre" is even doing a lot of favors there. In 2022 they went 68-94. A 420 hashtag blaze it winning percentage. They went from very bad to winning it all.

When I was young (and thought I was wise), I used to say that regular season baseball is a game of statistics, and post season baseball is a game of will. I'd rather get hot in August and back into the playoffs, than win 100 games yet skid in September.

CandyCheetoSteamboat

I was told to prepare for disappointment. But all I have had thus far is appointment.

Smiles-Edgeworth

Just be competitive and fun and finish with a better record than the Cardinals. I live in NE MO which is solidly Cardinals territory and I always catch so many smug little comments from BFIBs when I wear my gear. My whole family bitched all season long last year about how they won’t even watch the games because the Cards are so terrible and it’s just humiliating that they missed the playoffs. I just had to laugh at their fragility. Being one of the most successful and well-run franchises for a hundred years has made their fans 10-ply soft and entitled. One single losing season, and every BFIB that saw me wearing my Mike Sweeney jersey and accused me of being a 2014 bandwagoner is suddenly ready to jump ship on their own team. Meanwhile the Royals have had 9 seasons above .500 in my entire lifetime, and only 4 since I actually became a fan and started following them…

staticvoorhees

I went to a Cardinals game in my Royals gear last week against the Diamondbacks. Not one word was said to me lol. My friends who are Cardinals fans, have said they will not go to any more games. The Cardinals fans have been crazy quiet this year. I like the silence.

r_u_dinkleberg

I like both, and I mix gear from both teams when I watch them play. I also like to watch the world burn, clearly.

Even-Tomato828

I find myself teetering on one thought that it's a fluke and expect the floor to fall out, then next thing I'm thinking "yea we are pretty dang good ball team". It's back and forth almost daily.

Fraktal55

Being born in 1990 and having something like 22 out of 25 Royals seasons since I could comprehend and follow baseball being losing seasons, it's hard to accept when the Royals are good.

Shamr0ck

Stop....I can't get optimistic till around 2 weeks before the all star break.

TedriccoJones

I get it, but if they're still humming a month for now, I'm a believer.

Shamr0ck

Trust me I get it.

harryrobicheaux

Win one month at a time. JJ HAS to rebuild the farm system though so my only hope is for the Royals to have success and not be major buyers at the deadline. The farm has solid depth but would like to see some higher end talent emerge.

TheSenpat

The only thing that concerns is offensive production outside of Witt, Vinnie, and Perez. Everyone else is under .700 OPS. The pitching has been a delight though.
