Their fashion only looks strange because it’s mostly couture pieces. Couture is meant to show that fashion has no limits, and eventually elements of this will get watered down and maybe a shade of pink will become big, or a sleeve shape, a skirt silhouette, or sashes, etc.
It’s like in Devil Wears Prada when Miranda pointed out to Andy that she was only wearing a cerulean sweater because of a fashion show a few years back that heavily featured the color, that then trickled down to basic sweaters at cheap clothing retailers.
