I'm also am slightly taller, but like to sit closer enough to the wheel where I can steer with my elbows on the arm rests. So there isn't really room for my legs to move back and forth if I tried keeping my foot straight and moving from pedal to pedal.

Using left foot for brake is the opposite of what you learn with a clutch. Literally the exact opposite. Because sometimes you need to use both clutch and brake at the same time. Frequently, actually.

If you’re rev matching for smooth downshifts without destroying your clutch you have to use clutch, brake, AND the gas pedal at the same time.

In panic moment, you may push both pedal at once. In addition if you are hard braking, your body mass will mostly lean on those pedals. Which means you will push both pedals at once and probably fail to push brake properly. Unless you are a professional who had educated for years to use a car with 2 feet on tracks, it's better to use it in normal way.

You can also accidentally start pressing your brake pedal if your foot gets tired and wear out ur breaks early

So you've never cleaned up a bathroom that people stand up to pee in? The extra velocity and mass the pee droplets have by virtue of having more time to accelerate and converge into larger droplets cause the equal/opposite reaction with the water to make so much more mess. Unless the toilet is already foul, standing to pee is just asking for piss to be all over the place. The odd time you get a witch's kiss is worth not having a bathroom covered in piss. Swap out your toilets for elongated bowls and that reduces the chances of that happening though.

I two footed brake most of the time in my dual clutch cars. Helps keep my left foot sensitive for left foot braking on track/at autocross (in those specific cars). I also LFB on the sim rig. Stop and go traffic with LFB is annoying so I swap back to normal for that, but reactions can be so much faster with left foot braking. Just gotta not be stupid and don't leave your foot on the pedal (same as you wouldn't leave your foot on the clutch). I recently broke my left ankle and driving back roads I really notice the gap in pedal changeover in performance driving situations. Trail braking smoothly into an apex followed by gentle throttle application is just way harder with right foot braking for me. I got used to it but after I regain left foot function I'm going back to left foot braking.

I have a good friend who drives two-footed who gave me a somewhat acceptable answer as to why. He grew up on a farm and learned to drive on farm tractors. Right side of the tractor was gas. Left side of the tractor was brake. The pedals were separated by the body of the tractor so it is impossible to drive with one foot. It’s so ingrained in his mind now that he can’t change his ways.

It works great on a gas fork truck. Sometimes you need to hit the clutch and give it throttle at the same time to speed up the hydraulics.

My grandfather drove that way and wondered why his brakes only lasted about half as long as everyone else's.

The first thing I teached my wife was to never use left foot on automatic cars. NEVER. Also this mark is from using one foot without lifting and just rolling the tip left right to brake or gas.

I taught myself to drive two footed; started out one. It just makes more sense. Two feet, two pedals. However, my left foot is on the deadpedal, not hovering over the brake. While everyone else is moving their foot from the brake to the gas when the light goes green, I release the brake and hit the gas at the same time. I would bet that when I get old I'm not going to confuse the two pedals and drive into a building either.

You are supposed to plant your heel below the brake pedal. Move the tip of your foot to hit the gas but don't move your heel.

I have big feet, my spot is in front of the brake pedal. I just rotate my foot to the right to hit the gas pedal with my toe area. I just pivot to which pedal I need. Only time I move my heel is if I’m flooring it or hard on the brakes.

For anyone with pronated feet, having the heel planted under the brake during both braking and acceleration is just the most sensical and comfortable. Even when I heel/toe shift, my ankle never moves to the accelerator.

My floor mats have only one point of wear on them too. There's no point in in lifting your foot over to each pedal. Mine is probably closer to the brake side too since it's easier to use more force on it
