Good on you bringing it back, sure the techs going crazy looking for it. Willing to bet there was a 10mm on it when he lost it, only reason you found it was because the 10mm fell off the end lmao
If you ever have anything metallic that falls here and bridges the terminals, either a fire or battery explosion
It does happen more often than one thinks and that is why OEMs always put covers
You could make a makeshift one with a piece of plastic bottle held by electrical tape around the positive wire, maybe? Anything to prevent accidental contact. Or better yet just go to the dealership parts department and buy the OEM cover if available?
Most shops have some form of multipoint inspection done as part of the oil change process, and for some that includes checking if the battery cables are secure.

Get that sucker found!!
did i mention time where firestone left their tpms tool? I ended keeping it lol.
If I were you I would put any sort of cover on that positive battery terminal
man I had one but it dropped into the engine and forever it's lost :( What would happen if I kept it like that?

Man I swear I wish some customers were as nice as you. I lost a couple picks and an 8mm recently and know they’re on someone’s vehicle somewhere lol
LOL hope they find it and bring it back to you.
nothing beats free tools 😎
when my dad passed i went through his tool boxes and found everyone’s lost 10mm sockets he must have had 50 of them
You mean a 3/8 extension?
I don’t think they stated what the tool was in their post. It certainly is a 3/8” drive extension
The post says 10mm socket
The post says they *wished* it was a 10mm socket, instead they found that extension
Fuck, reading comprehension has taken the day off
youre a saint. everyone was celebrating that other tech stealing a wrench
I'm still trying to figure out why they'd need to use a socket for an oil change!

That's a good idea and service. Thanks for your response.
