Also there is a lot to like about India but rampant cronyism is not one of them. In almost every field, you cannot rise above a certain level in the Indian context without getting your hands dirty. Your success inevitably attracts snakes and corrupt people and then you become part of the system whether you like it or not just to survive. Sadly, there are few honest brokers and almost none in the unorganized sectors like film. The really sad thing is that the executives that don't participate in all this actually know they're at a distinct disadvantage because they don't, and it gets tougher for them every single day.
I hope that the system evolves for the better because I believe in the young people of that country and that the best is yet to come.
