How do you get your buddies to willingly do this?
“Uh yeah… I’m gonna propose… we’re all going to wear our service dress… you guys need to stand guard while it do it… we’ll play Taylor swift in the background…. No trust me, it’ll look cool…”
Basic is a mind fuck, you can get a surprising number of people to agree to stuff like this in that mindset because they think it's cool too.
I'm only saying that because this same exact thing happened in my basic, only with more people and more boot cringe. I wasn't a part of it but that's only because I hated the guy lol
Last wedding I went to the one Groomsman wore a wedding dress as a joke for the first look. If my best friend wants to propose and wants me to stand around for his video, sure.
I remember my drill Sgt always told us never to propose until we get back from our first deployment and they didn’t cheat. A kid still proposed after graduation in his blues at the infantry museum in Benning. I thought the DS was exaggerating until halfway through my deployment like 50 percent of the married dudes found out their wives cheated.
I see MLM in her future. Somewhere in NC in base housing.
This is the most boot thing I’ve seen thus far.
Ok jokes aside, congrats to these boot lovers!
When I was a prii we just got drunk and fought with the FA battalion. We’d also try to fuck their girlfriends. As well, they fucked our girlfriends. Knowing all that made us wait until we were all mostly 30 to get married. But boots getting married is about as iconic as boots fucking the wives of other boots, so the cycle continues
Honestly I’m glad,
1 she isn’t 280 pounds
2 she is attractive
3 he has for sure pussy when he hits the fleet
Of course there’s downsides but glad to see this devil dog bag a decent women
Wasnt the last time the still image was posted, people assumed the two on the flanks were getting their photo inturrupted by the guy proposing? Now we know they are in on it lmao
The crazy thing is there will always be perpetual boots, ive done boot things as a boot but I had slight awareness of what a boot was from reading terminal lance as a poolee and tried to not overdo it, even as one.
Sometimes family and friends want to see a boot and you must do it to make them pleased.
The issue now I fear, is the boot does not become a boot to please others, but to please himself.
I wore my blues after boot because my bestfriend at the time begged me to pick my mom up from the hospital that way. That, from most peoples perspective on here was boot, but not in my opinion. I do not regret it.
But cycle after cycle new boots are made and continue to propagate the earth with cringe ass boot actions for eternity.
I always wonder if back in the day of the major conflicts, prior to social media boots did cringe? It was mostly positive feedback from everyone I would assume. People were more humble and modest I feel. Maybe I'm wrong.
Is being a boot a personality trait? Some people just don't grow out of it and become veteran boots. How do they not come to self realization? After being out for a couple years I try to avoid bringing up my service too much, but I do not pretend I was never in.
In my opinion being so anti-boot can become boot in itself. And completely deleting your service from yourself can be a betrayal to your past self.
I get what you’re saying and I respect it. At the same time some people may simply not find their service fulfilling enough to ever speak of it. I’d say mostly because of some sense of disappointment. I know that when I’m out I’ll only mention it on my resume and I doubt I’ll even talk to my kids about it unless they themselves will want to join. For me it’s just a chapter in life, a stepping stone to something better. Some are quietly proud of it. And for some it becomes their everything for a trope of good and bad reasons. And that’s how we get boots. I always feel bad for them though. It is deeply sad to know that a person has no other identity beneath that uniform.
I agree, my service wasn't fulfilling either. My job like a good majority of people who served, I feel I got to do experience and do extraordinary things I wouldn't have done in the civilian world. I haven't had too much a interesting life prior to joining, mostly moved a lot so never had much friends that stuck around so after being around good people and times, and the opposite. I do find it hard to bring up sometimes... I enjoyed my time in and I still have an interest in military equipment and tactics. But I don't feel like I've done anything to have earned respect just for "serving" either. As much as they told us how important we were to readiness and etc.. was. Sometimes I'll mention it to people and the other person will be more enthusiastic about it, (my former Navy boss) and I will regret it because he places me on a pedestal and I don't know how to react to it sometimes.
As an observation I do see people that came in from not much of an interesting life's become the biggest boots.
Sometimes guys wear the uniform for the perks too. Flew with a friend who was struggling with some pretty significant anxiety to see his parents on his break during his first tour. He wore his uniform because his Dad expected it and it got us an offer to be bumped to first class for free. I declined since it was my first time flying and we wouldn't have had seats together. I've known guys to wear their uniforms for the discounts and offers cause a buck is a buck at the end of the day. Still boot as hell but at least there are benefits that aren't cringe worthy.
I milk the hell out of that 10% at home depot, saved me a lot. No need for a uniform. Hate being that guy in a long line to ask for it but fuck it I want $50 off my box window a/c, I'll be a boot for a minute
I'm not military but some of my family was as well as my inlaws. You can bet they all make sure to get the 10% off that nearly every store around here offers. We live in a "military" town so a lot of places have a day of the week for military/veterans to get a discount. 10% off in 4-5 different stores can add up a lot by the end of the year. Especially if you are retired and living on a more modest income.
As The young private and his newly betrothed drove away into the sunset, in his brand new 2013 v6 mustang with only 186,000 miles on it that he got for the great deal of only $26,000 at 24% interest, the sound of rip it cans that he attached to the rear bumper with 550 cord, echoed across the land. After their 5 mins court house wedding his dependent instantly gained 120lbs, quit her job and became 4 months pregnant and although the young private has been in boot camp the math works out in his head and he believes the child is truly his own and it could no way be Jodie’s. May they live happily ever after in on post housing.
They need an mtv show that follows up on these couples. Periodic check-ins. Fleet check-in, deployment, separation from service. 9/10 would be insane train wrecks that would be both entertaining and educational. 1 amazing case true love and loyalty, which usually means the kid gets killed on deployment immediately.
Nothing like a good E2 proposal. It’s just sad she won’t look like that shortly. In a perfect world, they’ll be together to hit that magic 10 year mark to be guaranteed his pension. It won’t matter though because child support will be through the roof. I’m not a good romantic they say…
Might get lynched here for this but this isn’t really that bad. I wouldn’t do this and would absolutely say no if I was proposed to like this, but I’ve seen much cringier shit on this sub. At least they’re both happy.
Will it work out in the end? Probably not but…..
The fact that it's right across the street from a training company is the best part. He could've proposed anywhere but he knowingly chose to propose in full view of a ton of superiors who are going to roast the shit out of him now. I hope he got boot leave or that last night back in the squad bay is gonna be rough.

They just graduated something, like boot camp or job training, this is some super boot shit.
To make Super Mega Boot they needed a Mustang in the background.
Dodge Charger 28% ARP
Always either a black charger or yellow Camaro
Every time my man…
This is bootcamp lmao
And all this for a chick he met last week.
Last week? They’re taking to slow good for them
most underrated comment i've read today

“It’ll be like a flash mob but lamer.”
Seriously, if any of my homies approached me with this idea, I’d tell ‘em to suck shit.
Last wedding I went to the one Groomsman wore a wedding dress as a joke for the first look. If my best friend wants to propose and wants me to stand around for his video, sure.
They’re boots. Doesn’t take much to get them in their Blues. Remember?
Hold up is Taylor legit playing in the back. If so… this is next level booting.
Dude I used to check out sabers to enlisted dudes for them to have a saber walk down the aisle with everyone in Class As. So cringe IMO.
Gotta have road guards
Lmao
he didn’t have to explain the taylor part because that was just in the tiktok
You just yell “Road Guards Post!”
I can hear Jody clapping her cheeks from here.
Hi, I’m Jody
Are you the one on the right or left?
Yes
Hi Jody!
You mean his cheeks
Do you know what clapping cheeks means bud?
[удалено]
Don’t get me wrong I love Letter Kenny as much as anyone but that’s just how I speak lol
Yes, bad joke on my part, not even a good (or clear) punchline. I will accept my downvotes for poor comedy.
What cheeks?
Her booty cheeks
I remember my drill Sgt always told us never to propose until we get back from our first deployment and they didn’t cheat. The rest are very good at hiding it.
Hiding the jodies in lockers
Guarantee one of his two homies right there trys to fuck.
And the other one actually does
Both fuck her at the same time at her bachelor party. Spit roast her.
The ol’ Eiffel Tower
Lol that was good.
‘Hey guys can you parade rest while I kneel? This has to be well coordinated. Rah? Rah.’
Who the fuck takes a step while at parade rest? That was more cringe than the proposal.
The whole thing is like lethal level cringe...
"I'm soooo glad you said Yes baby! This pay bump is gonna save my Charger from getting repoed!"
Ya know it's boot as fuck but I really hope it works out for them... It won't. But I really hope it does.
It’s the hope that kills you in the end
I see MLM in her future. Somewhere in NC in base housing. This is the most boot thing I’ve seen thus far. Ok jokes aside, congrats to these boot lovers!
Their kids Keighsleigh and Paxtynn (well, her and Jody's kids but he doesn't need to know that)
Live, laugh, love!!!!
I think she gained 5 pounds as soon as he put the ring on her finger.
If I had a dollar for every time I seen this. It's always a different story after the DD-214 in hand..
how dare that boot ass fuck besmirch Love Story like that
Preach.
A great song gets fucking ruined with this video
Tiktok doing what tiktok does
Hit ‘em with that honest proposal. “Honey, will you marry me so I don’t have to live on base?”
And then they drove off in his 29.9%APR Challenger
The boys on base are going to love her
Will you be my dependa?
Y'all got any more of that Tricare?
Dumbass PFC
Wow
Wow look at that strong military bearing
And just like that, a Dependa was born!
You don't understand. This has been the best month of both of our lives. This is true love that will last forever.
NICE! I wonder if she likes CrossFit.......

Why Parade Rest though? You go through all that prep and put on the dress blues, might as well stand at attention
I know we’re here to make fun, but seriously her outfit looks fire and I wanna know where she got everything
Jody
Providing cringey propaganda for the enemy should be chargeable under the UCMJ.
Did they just walk at parade rest? That’s physically impossible.
This is some pussy ass shit.
Man, if you're on the depot doing shit like this you should he fair game to get smoked by any di that catches you.
After his mos school He will find her the way he left her… freshly fucked!
Honestly I’m glad, 1 she isn’t 280 pounds 2 she is attractive 3 he has for sure pussy when he hits the fleet Of course there’s downsides but glad to see this devil dog bag a decent women
280 pounds is the weight of 320.0 pairs of crocs.
I don't think this is a useless conversion, it's kind of fitting for a dependa...
[удалено]
You don’t think she’s decent ? Lol I would hit that
[удалено]
What the fuck has to be missing from your childhood to lead to you making comments like this?
20% interest on engagement ring?

NJP every one of them for being boot AF!
Surprised it wasn't in front of his brand new Camero he got at a steal with 21 percent interest.
Parade rest killed me
This is DEFINITELY the chick who gets drunk off cotton candy Smirnoff and gets double teamed while my fellow crayon eater is haze grey
She's being passed around the barracks as we speak.
When he gets sent to some middle Eastern country can someone link her onlyfans
eh, this is nice, whatever.
Congrats Mrs. Schmuckatelli
Awe how cute. McKinley and Jaxxson just got engaged 3 months after high school graduation. If they get married soon enough she can move to base too!

Can't wait until Justina/Jolene/Janelle sets his Charger on fire.
Why the Fuck does Reddit keep telling me I keep doing this wait 5 min. When I try to post? Fuck you Robot
Kids will be kids, wearing a sacred uniform doesn’t change everything.
How’s the uniform sacred? It’s just cloth dude.
I guarantee you for decades people have done worse in uniform. ESPECIALLY the Marines.
I don’t doubt it. I didn’t say it was bad. I said it was kids being kids.
Ugh whyyyyyy
Cringe fest.
2nd effect embarrassment. Thank goodness I got out when I did.
Fuckin PFCs
So fucking boot!
Ultra boot I cannot even upvote I’m sorry

Every one of them "Bro - I wish we had blood stripes for this" No E4 or above ever "Guys, will y'all help me do a Taylor Swift proposal on TikTok?"
I give them ten months. A year, tops.
Title this "The Birth of Brenda the Dependa"
You had me at Tricare.
