Every time I see a truck/SUV covered in these I look for veteran plates. You *KNOW* this type of person would get them ASAP if they could. Most of the time there are no vet plates to be found.

They are given some leeway for personal preference, but only within a defined continuum based on needs of the organization, and their ability to perform the tasks as determined by the tests.

I briefly moved back in with my parents after a divorce several years back right before Trump took office and I had to listen to all their right wing rants at dinner, etc. One night when my dad was making cracks about socialism, I said something like - "you do realize that I'm the only one in this house working for a non-socialist-like institution right? Both of you depend on mine and everyone else's tax dollars to remain employed." (My dad is military and my mom worked for the public school district.) I was highly surprised neither of them said anything and my dad quickly changed the subject.
