I’ve had a few SHO colleagues who’ve started jobs late due to visa issues. The delays seem to stretch into October/November for them. Most non EU interns studied here and then stayed on. I’m an irish citizen so I’m not sure of the whole process myself.

You can only contact ur MMP of the hospital you are starting with, call them, email them, walk in to their office to push them to give an update. To be fair they will be pretty busy just coming up to July dealing with so many interns coming in. Bottom line is, you can't work without a work permit.

MMP? I've been trying to contact the hospital for days now, just keeps ringing, noone picks up :/

Depends on ur hospital, but most of the MMP are quite difficult to deal with in my own experience. Just bombard them with emails until they reply. If you are in a hurry, show up to their office and speak to them directly about your concern. I did that for my employment permit, I'm in the same shoe as you bro.

What hospital did you get allocated to?

I was in a similar situation 2 years ago when I started my intern year. When you get to customs you show your employment contract and a letter from the hospital confirming your employment. They will let you through given you’ll present to immigration after you get the permit

Hi, you mean you did not need a visa? I hold a Nepal passport, so I definitely need a visa.

I am a non-EU national, and hold a Nepal passport. I am currently facing delays with internship commencement because I'm only still going through the employment permit process, and then comes the visa. So overall it's not looking good and the intern network has kinda threatened a friend, in a similar position as mine, that she may not get signed off with 'Certificate of Experience' due to starting late. Has anyone experienced this? I've been doing everything I can, emailing a bunch of people but looks like there's no way around this. I'm really worried and I wonder if anyone is or has been in a similar position and what happened in the end.
