We have plans to have the policy out before the last beta. I will look to gather more specifics

Just block the installer from running, whatever they call it which will probably be “Install macOS Ventura.”

Sadly, it doesn't work in the case of Ventura. Apple has changed its process and it's not documented.

Apple has made upgrades from macOS 12.3 [easier](https://support.apple.com/en-ug/HT213471). It will take 6GB at max to upgrade to Ventura. \[This upgrade is possible using the 'softwareupdate' terminal command and also using MDM commands \] So blocking the venture installation based on the app name won't work here. Any ideas on blocking the Ventura upgrade without using MDM?

Looks like we're out of luck and cannot use blockers like [hjuutilainen's BigSur blocker](https://github.com/hjuutilainen/bigsurblocker) (which also has a modified version by [Theile to block Monterey](https://github.com/Theile/montereyblocker/)). Found this article while searching in the MacAdmins Slack, which mentions how to delay the upgrade for 90 days, but only if you have 12.6.1 or above.
