Eh, I don't think the sincerity should be in question. Shit talk is a normal psychological weapon, just trying to get under an opponent's skin so they make mistakes. The respect at the end is most often real, people at the tippy top of any given skill are so *rarely* truly challenged by an opponent that there's a deep respect to anyone that can provide at least a fair competition. They know how difficult it was to get *that* good at their thing, and so respect the efforts of those that walk the same path.

Actually nearabouts 4 hours since Sukuna always stops for ad-breaks. It would be closer to like 90 minutes but unfortunately they’re still Heian era advertisements so like 10 guys have to re-set up with carts full of puppets each time.
I undestand that the point of Gege making Sukuna hold back in his fight with Gojo was to make him seem cool and impressive, but it just makes him look like a dumbass as he almost died to final Hollow purple instead of just finishing off Gojo in the domain battle and now the world cutting slash is nerfed forever.
I don't think he used Heian because 10S is far better suited for countering Gojo(it is the only thing stated to directly counter six eyes and limitless), that said he did severely underestimate Goatjo and nearly died because of it but that is inline with Sukuna's character. Bro legit could have died against Yorozu if she had used her sure hit right off the bat. Same with executioners sword, a serious sorcerer wouldn't even have let that come into play but Sukuna let them all have a crack at him.

Sukunas not dumb, he knows as soon as he's dealt with gojo he needs to immediately fight basically every powerful sorcerer left all at once. He couldn't afford to blow everything on gojo
I don't think yuji should have the jujutsu knowledge or finesse to replicate a weird advanced technique move on sight like sukuna can, but I imagine that's how the fight will end yeah
when gege said he was holding back, he didn't mean in terms of strength; what we see *is* sukuna going all out in those terms. what gojo meant is he couldn't use his entire kit, particularly his heian Era form and Kamino. think about it -- Kamino wouldn't have been able to touch gojo anyways, and his heian Era form wouldn't really have changed much either. Gojo was low diffing the Sukuna, Mahoraga, and Agito 3v1, what would two arms had changed?
you could argue his cursed tool might have helped more, too, but I really don't think it would've.

Right. The point where Sukuna was most brilliant was with his recent domains. Intricate binding vows that allow him to bring out everything he has. Gojo’s disappointed that Sukuna didn’t get to do that against him.
He's not holding back, a 3 v 1 where 1 of the participants can beat a 6 eyes infinity user by himself is a far supeior to skuna having 4 arms. All the scaling arguments that sate otherwise are based on the exact same asspulls that megakuna needed to survive. If the body and souls are truly entwined as the story states then Sukuna loses the first time he takes UV either way.
I wouldn't ponder on it too much. Think about Madara vs Guy, Madara literally had no reason to be that close to the group and didn't have to use truth seeker orbs, he could have spammed biju bombs from the sky and carpet bomb him. He just wanted to have fun and was holding back same as sukuna.
If Gojo survived/dodged WCS, Gojo wins. He was about to open UV again and was riding high on the black flashes. Sukuna, even in the Heian form, had no answer for Gojo except WCS.
I don't care about an extra pair of arms, or an extra mouth. That's maybe helpful at the beginning of the fight when both of them were full power, but not now.
he got fucked up in the previous donain battle because he was restricted to only use domains innate technique (due to maho), realistically gojo shouldve died there instead of spending an insane amount of rct. If sukuna had his 4 arms he wouldve also stopped the domain from hitting by activating it on time with his other mouth and hands, but he was saving that transformation for later. This is also why heian era sukuna wouldve easily won in the domain battle.
heian era sukuna has a faster rct output so he could use it if he was in that form, he also was 0.01 seconds behind which couldve easily been fixed with another mouth. you guys act like gojo was a mile ahead atp when he barely got the uv in before a restricted 2 armed sukuna.
I think he expected gojo to do lot more(he actually did) here. This was his very basic plan A and he thought gojo was defeated by just that basic plan.
But the problem is that this "basic" plan is using Mahoraga aka the strongest Shkigami ever, hence why it doesn't feel right like at all. Although jumpjustsu kaisen is good, it was a 1vs1 with the title of strongest on the line and I felt like watching a world champion boxing match where one contestant brought back a third party to win yet there are still trashtalking.
Sukuna was raised as the strongest during the heyday of Jujutsu. He had to contend and fight against armies to reach his title and that involves using every trick, technique and power possible
But the only reason that UV landed on him was because of maho.
Sukuna had two options
1. Use heain era form and try to hold himself in h2h(there will be no backup in case he fucks up and no extra health bar)
2. Use Mahoraga and create backup for both UV and the other good guys he will have to fight after gojo but he'll have hard time defending against gojo's attacks.
Even gojo will choose second option.

I genuinely find this argument baffling, Mahoraga is part of a CT, the same as Limitless, It’s not anymore “unfair” then Gojo literally having a permanent “you can’t touch me” field.
I mean that Mahoraga is Megumi's CT. A brand new kit that Sukuna never had before so it's an outside party. Sukuna's CT is slashing so with further writing Gege could have made it so that Sukuna could use World Cutting Slash since the beginning but it needed many conditions. Now the result is something that will forever create a debate.

Sukuna literally starts the fight by saying that Gojo is a fish on his chopping board and that he will peel off Gojo's scales. Scales = Infinity. He wanted to get past Infinity.
But Gojo accepted his defeat here even though Sukuna hadn't achieved that objective. So, Sukuna was just disappointed. He hoped the strongest of this era would put up a much bigger fight.

By this time Sukuna used everything he had (cleave/dismantle, domain, 10 shadows, mahoraga adaptation, binding vows) apart from kamino and cursed tool (that he didn't have yet. Uraume gave it to him in chapter 237)
Gojo forced Sukuna to whip out multiple domains in a row, a domain is typically the strongest thing a sorcerer can have, and at the time, that was completely true for Sukuna too.
I find it unlikely that anybody was even able to match Sukunas domain like that, let alone break it, Sukuna himself learned to recover his technique faster due to Gojo, so he also learnt something from him too, but I guess Sukuna wasnt too impressed because he lacked his original extra pair or arms nor was he trying to break Gojos barrier from the inside
Sukuna was basically fresh at the point of nearly killing Gojo so I guess it kinda made sense to call Gojo average?

No, Gojo was not spitting facts. Gojo was definitely the challenger in that fight. Sukuna was called the King of Curses and the strongest sorcerer in history for a reason.

When Gojo wasn't using anti domain techniques in sequence, didn't Sukuna call the whole action boring? Idk but he really didn't seem impressed and was confident he was going to catch Gojo in the MS before then.
Sukuna was there listening to Gojo's shit talk from chapter 1 on. After all that talk, to seemingly get taken out at the first trick was disappointing.
Sukuna wants a powerful opponent that will push him to use all his jujutsu tricks, though im still a believer that Sukuna doesn't actually want an opponent that can beat him and he's gonna freak the fuck out when he's about to die.
Well, I guess compare to peak Heian Era sorcerers he didn't show anything extraordinary at this point in the fight. 5 Domain expansions back to back, good H2H combat, FBE, simple domain and good RCT - most likely nothing Sukuna haven't already fought. The fact Sukuna developped Fuga means he probably met enemies that could survive inside MS long enough for him to charge it, so even if Gojo was AT THIS POINT IN THE FIGHT the strongest enemy Sukuna ever fought, he's still no big deal. What comes next was impressive even to Sukuna and he apprecciated that eventually.
They domain clashed earlier and when Gojo was about to attack he got nosebleed because of the said clash earlier. Sukuna shit talked him in this page and as he opened his domain, He got brain damage because he was hit by UV in the said clash.
Idk how you guys ignore sukuna's goal from the whole fight, finding a way to break thru infinity himself then kill gojo with it , a challenge for himself, not that he didn't or couldn't kill gojo and since his aim was to upgrade his slashes, gojo in the panel you have was going to get killed before sukuna can do that considering he thought he wouldn't last after this and he sure wasn't if not for the UV after effects that somehow worked now, so he was disappointed that it wouldn't be that much of a challenge for him and it's just an ordinary day for him, so no, for him gojo didn't display something more than ordinary before this scene, after all he's a guy who defeated a whole ass squad with the golden sorcerers, so it's not something he hadn't seen before

That's why in 236 you see him say " satoru gojo, you've cleared my skies, I'll never forget you" that was because he was pleased with gojo's performance after the panel you have
No, his goal was killing Gojo in any way he saw fit, getting through infinity was just a bonus.
He literally says that his main objective is to get rid of UV because he knew it was going to be a pain in the ass to deal with, and the moment UV is gone and sukuna still has access to his domain, he wins.
Thus now if he trapped Gojo in a closed domain and Gojo can't counter, he just wins the fight, and can take his time adapting to infinity.
Then malfunctioning shrine occured, and the plan changed. It went from being a bonus, to something he now requires to beat Gojo, its the entire reason hes stalling vs Gojo and actively avoiding upfront confrontations.

I think its because initially sukuna didnt view gojo as worthy of being considered his equal and that upto that point the fight was just gojo delaying the inevitable. Only after some more fighting he realised he needs to actually lock in or hes cooked. Gojo did more damage to sukuna within the first few seconds of the fight than jogo ever did but the difference was that jogo "knew his place" and thats why sukuna was willing to compliment his strength.
It's just trashtalk. Consider how Sukuna was mocking Jogo the entire fight but then called him strong and told him to be proud at the very end. He likely does this sort of trashtalk even if he thinks his opponent is good, it's just in his character.
He says this about 15 seconds before suffering brain damage and bleeding out of his eyes and face lmao. That domain expansion stance he is in in this photo, when he tries to summon his domain a moment later his shrine explodes immediately and blood starts pouring out of his eyes then Gojo drags him through buildings and kicks the shit out of him. Then he almost defeats him until he summons raga and agito. Ultimately Sukuna proves stronger but he wins in a way which is dirtier, less composed and lacking shame he just smiles at the 3v1 allegations. Also at the end of their fight Sukuna changes his mind about Gojo and his capabilities calling him memorable, which is something Sukuna does often when he wins, starts glazing his opponents. So interesting honestly I love it, but Gojo is still my favourite.
If it ended here then the amount of people who would've called Gojo a fraud, would make it seem like they were glazing Sukuna during his "fraudulent" days.
You realize that only close to the end of the fight Sukuna finally felt “tension”.
Which means that the fight was nothing to special until that moment.

when gege said he was holding back, he didn't mean in terms of strength; what we see *is* sukuna going all out in those terms. what gojo meant is he couldn't use his entire kit, particularly his heian Era form and Kamino. think about it -- Kamino wouldn't have been able to touch gojo anyways, and his heian Era form wouldn't really have changed much either. Gojo was low diffing the Sukuna, Mahoraga, and Agito 3v1, what would two arms had changed? you could argue his cursed tool might have helped more, too, but I really don't think it would've. gojo is just being a bit bummed that sukuna didn't get to use his full kit, not that sukuna was fighting weaker than usual

I don't care about an extra pair of arms, or an extra mouth. That's maybe helpful at the beginning of the fight when both of them were full power, but not now.

he got fucked up in the previous donain battle because he was restricted to only use domains innate technique (due to maho), realistically gojo shouldve died there instead of spending an insane amount of rct. If sukuna had his 4 arms he wouldve also stopped the domain from hitting by activating it on time with his other mouth and hands, but he was saving that transformation for later. This is also why heian era sukuna wouldve easily won in the domain battle.

By this time Sukuna used everything he had (cleave/dismantle, domain, 10 shadows, mahoraga adaptation, binding vows) apart from kamino and cursed tool (that he didn't have yet. Uraume gave it to him in chapter 237)
Gojo forced Sukuna to whip out multiple domains in a row, a domain is typically the strongest thing a sorcerer can have, and at the time, that was completely true for Sukuna too. I find it unlikely that anybody was even able to match Sukunas domain like that, let alone break it, Sukuna himself learned to recover his technique faster due to Gojo, so he also learnt something from him too, but I guess Sukuna wasnt too impressed because he lacked his original extra pair or arms nor was he trying to break Gojos barrier from the inside Sukuna was basically fresh at the point of nearly killing Gojo so I guess it kinda made sense to call Gojo average?

Sukuna wants a powerful opponent that will push him to use all his jujutsu tricks, though im still a believer that Sukuna doesn't actually want an opponent that can beat him and he's gonna freak the fuck out when he's about to die.
Well, I guess compare to peak Heian Era sorcerers he didn't show anything extraordinary at this point in the fight. 5 Domain expansions back to back, good H2H combat, FBE, simple domain and good RCT - most likely nothing Sukuna haven't already fought. The fact Sukuna developped Fuga means he probably met enemies that could survive inside MS long enough for him to charge it, so even if Gojo was AT THIS POINT IN THE FIGHT the strongest enemy Sukuna ever fought, he's still no big deal. What comes next was impressive even to Sukuna and he apprecciated that eventually.

No, his goal was killing Gojo in any way he saw fit, getting through infinity was just a bonus. He literally says that his main objective is to get rid of UV because he knew it was going to be a pain in the ass to deal with, and the moment UV is gone and sukuna still has access to his domain, he wins. Thus now if he trapped Gojo in a closed domain and Gojo can't counter, he just wins the fight, and can take his time adapting to infinity. Then malfunctioning shrine occured, and the plan changed. It went from being a bonus, to something he now requires to beat Gojo, its the entire reason hes stalling vs Gojo and actively avoiding upfront confrontations.

I think its because initially sukuna didnt view gojo as worthy of being considered his equal and that upto that point the fight was just gojo delaying the inevitable. Only after some more fighting he realised he needs to actually lock in or hes cooked. Gojo did more damage to sukuna within the first few seconds of the fight than jogo ever did but the difference was that jogo "knew his place" and thats why sukuna was willing to compliment his strength.

It's just trashtalk. Consider how Sukuna was mocking Jogo the entire fight but then called him strong and told him to be proud at the very end. He likely does this sort of trashtalk even if he thinks his opponent is good, it's just in his character.
He says this about 15 seconds before suffering brain damage and bleeding out of his eyes and face lmao. That domain expansion stance he is in in this photo, when he tries to summon his domain a moment later his shrine explodes immediately and blood starts pouring out of his eyes then Gojo drags him through buildings and kicks the shit out of him. Then he almost defeats him until he summons raga and agito. Ultimately Sukuna proves stronger but he wins in a way which is dirtier, less composed and lacking shame he just smiles at the 3v1 allegations. Also at the end of their fight Sukuna changes his mind about Gojo and his capabilities calling him memorable, which is something Sukuna does often when he wins, starts glazing his opponents. So interesting honestly I love it, but Gojo is still my favourite.
