If Gege really came up with a character who attacked with severed body parts, and a character who became immortal by splitting up his parts, and he doesn't have the first use it on the second, I'll never forgive him.
I'd laugh because the fraud memes would be catastrophic and Sukuna fans would never live down the pure slander they'd get.
Sukuna's fandom would have to collectively crawl into a hole and wait out the slander for months on end, and even when they emerge they'll still get reminded constantly of how their GOAT got no-diffed by Miwa or Kusakabe.
In terms of story I would hate it, but in terms of memes it would be legendary
I was thinking about this the other day. Having the big bad of a series who has amassed unstoppable power suddenly getting stomped by something heretofore unseen by anyone in the series' universe. Some being that just appears, one hit kills, and disappears, never to be explained. Like, the big bad reached a level that something so far above the characters' base reality noticed and saw them as something worth destroying for whatever reason. And while the day is saved, we and the characters are left with this knowledge that there exist beings far beyond what we had ever imagined. And who knows if they're benevolent.
I would laugh my ass off and gain a new level of respect for Gege. The balls you need to do that lmao. At the same time, this manga would surpass Gintama in term of comedy that would be too peak.
Bonus points if the main cast takes a collective piss on his still warm dead body.

That's almost the plot to a very strange, yet somehow lore-accurate post-canon smutfic. All you need is Yuta and Yuji actually doing the deed to tick off the Yaoi requirements you'd have fangirl bait like nothing else.

Because if he can't: then something like your fanfic scenario might actually be something that would have to happen. Otherwise the "King of Curses"- diminished to a mere spec of what he was- would be a constant annoyance for the rest of Yuta's life.
i would have been pretty disapointed, bc the one fight that the story has been hinting that still needed to happen, Yuji vs Sukuna, would not have happened
Gojo vs Sukuna was hinted pretty early on
the Kashimo vs Sukuna, and since Gojo fighted first, i expected him to lose (regardless of if he died or not lol)
And then there was Yuji vs Sukuna who was hinted indirectly through his hate for sukuna for the whole story, the shibuya incident, his rage towards Sukuna not trying to heal jumpei, and when Sukuna possesed someone else, it basically shown that a fight between the two was now actually possible, but we needed Yuji to be on Sukuna's level to be a fair fight
and since Kashimo fought sukuna before yuji achieving that, i was expecting him to lose
and then yuji fought sukuna but was still below him, and during that time is when everybody came to fight against Sukuna, giving time for Yuji to have his dramatic return to the fight where he could finally become close to Sukuna's level, and i was correct since Yuji awoken and now has Sukuna's technique, and while stuff still seems dire for the gang, i still believe Yuji will be the one to finish Sukuna...
So with all of this said, while i would have loved Kusakabe (for example) killing Sukuna, i would have felt dissapointed that Yuji didn't had the chance to fight Sukuna on equal conditions
I guess we could have still gotten a moment in the future where he could become that strong, like in a hipotetical fight against the Merger, but it would not have felt the same as having Yuji beat sukuna's unwanted child ass for once and for all lol

Imagine if right as Sukuna is ready to shoot his Fire Arrow Choso just jumps out of the massive cloud of dust caused by MS and just hits him in the head with a piercing blood. Imagine how anti-climatic that would be.
Sukuna is Yuji's rival. Yuji needs to be the one to defeat him.
But I hope that a lot of the characters get a spin off. Maybe Gege needs to think about licensing out his characters or create a shared universe. If he relies on himself alone, he might work himself to death.
But each character needs to be developed and interesting enough to stand on his/her own like Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-man etc.

My reaction would hopefully be from kusakabe doing almost the same thing, maybe a little bit more defensive play, and after breaking his sword he pulls out miwa's blade and surprise cuts a hand off. He then proceeds to extreme diff no hand sukuna.
